Possibly the best halibut and chips south of Alaska. The only way to make this any better would be to avoid cooking the fish ahead of orders for it. I will definitely be back.

This place is amazing! We've been going here for over 15 years! Friday night fish n chips is our favorite!! Also, to the older man who passed the line at the door thinking you were holier than thou, shame on you for being rude to the staff! SMH!

I hate to do this to a local legend it's been awhile since I've been to Dave's bar and grill when in tonight for dinner, excellent service same old atmosphere but the food was bad. What are the meatloaf, came out looking like a pile of ground beef in a bath of gravy. Could not even distinguish that it was a meatloaf and not just ground beef covered in gravy. I should take one star off for service because she actually presented it to my table. But being such a personable server the five stars she deserves. I know it was early to get dinner, but this plate should never have been presented to a customer. I hope the current management takes this seriously and discusses it with his chef the quality of food that goes off the grill and onto a customer's table. Unfortunately I've been a long time customer to Dave's bar and grill and I really doubt I'll ever cross the doorstep again.

Great service, bar atmosphere, good food.

We were in town for the weekend. We met my uncle here for dinner. I wasn’t expecting much. I was quite surprised. We have bars like this in the little towns on the west side of the pass. Not in the city. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy. First off they put gravy on the meatloaf. Which needs to be an actual law punishable by jail time if you don’t put gravy on the meatloaf. They had no issue giving me extra gravy. I love gravy. Next. Their mashed potatoes are real. No packages just good ol mashed taters like grandma makes. Simply put it was nice having a home cooked meal. Ok so let me tell you about our waitress. She had this cool honeycomb tattoo. I don’t know her name but she was cool. I love when people have a sense of humor. And she was witty. My uncle is a wise cracker. And she was so quick with the responses. So I’ll go back to Dave’s anytime I’m in Spokane.

The fish and chips were PHENOMENAL!

Super friendly staff, very delicious food, always yummy drinks too. I love the atmosphere here, very quiet and neat establishment. If you like bloody Mary's, they make them really good and I would certainly recommend the fish and chips or their steak. The cook is excellent!

Not what I remember from precovid.

We were in town for a wedding and looking for a cozy place to grab some grub. Drawn on the strength of the reviews posted, we got in on a super busy Friday night and were accommodated quickly by the wonderful staff. The atmosphere was great. The problem we ran into? Our steaks were severely undercooked to the point where one was almost entirely raw in the middle. Being hungry and tired, we opted to eat and not send them back as the place was slammed, and we didn’t want to wait longer.

It's a great small neighborhood bar and grill! The tiny kitchen puts out consistently great food and the service is always done with a smile!

We love local eateries. This is a local restaurant with large portions, good food, and great service. We came here between lunch and dinner, and it was busy. Tell you it's good food and drink.

This is an old town bar and grill, nothing fancy nothing glamorous, but dang good fish and chips and sandwiches!

came in sat down at 5:45 waited for 30 min only to have the server ignore us, bartender came over and got us drinks, watched 4 tables behind us get drinks and food deliverd. got up to leave and nobody cared to even try and see if we were served. going elsewhere to somewhere we can actually get service.

Dive bar kinda vibes, but more chill Kids of course welcome Good food, Large portions, had an excellent huckleberry margarita, fresh, the fish and chips are some of the best we’ve had. Bacon cheese burger was delicious! Had a great family dinner!

We love fish and chips, have tried many versions. Our sister told us about this place, we were in Spokane so we decided to give it a try. She raved and raved about the food here, especially the fish and chips. She was right, best fish and chips, crunchy batter, not greasy, real fish, we got the cod. Fries are crispy and good tartar sauce! Served with coleslaw on the side….. Dave’s Bar and Grill , you gotta go

I have been on the search all over the country for the best Reuben sandwich and heard about the one at Dave's Bar and Grill. Drove 400 miles to try it and, boy oh boy, it did not disappoint. I would recommend it to any other Reuben lover. Thanks guys for a great dinner.

Love this place an amazing atmosphere, love the bloody Mary's ( I'm a bartender at a local restaurant/bar/hotel) and I (we) make the best Bloody Mary's. Anyways this place is homey and the biscuits and gravy are fantastic... I'm a Midwestern and love peppered gravy... the staff is so kind..

We love Dave's! We go almost every Saturday or Sunday morning for breakfast. It's just a solid spot. The food is good and the waitresses are always on top of it. Don't expect anything fancy but definitely expect an affordable well rounded meal you're not disappointed with. Side note: There is free popcorn. Seems weird but we definitely share a bowl every time. Perfectly salted and buttered lol.

Our waitress was fantastic. The fish and chips were very good and we received a good portion of food.

So we usually love the halibut here. But today something was different. Coleslaw seemed not home made and the fish wasn't good, for the first time ever.

Foods good and service is courteous and doesn't rush people out while they're eating unlike some places. The decor is still top notch

We were in Spokane for the weekend. Decided to give Dave’s a try based on reviews. We both had the Saturday Sirloin Special. It was delicious as were the sides! Cocktails were wonderful, too! Bailey was our awesome waitress. We will definitely be back when we return to Spokane.

Best breakfast place in the valley

It was the fastest food service I've ever had. I timed them for fun on other customers and hands down speedy service. Staff was extremely friendly and was a very nice experience. We've been twice in two weeks.

My first impression was not good coming into the back entrance for the first time. Garbage, cig butts...almost didn't try you out because how dirty it was. Once inside, it all changed. Neat, clean unique place with lovely help and great atmosphere. Just clean up the entrances.

This is an update I ate here often before covid and I loved it the food was wonderful I don't know if it was just a one-time thing but the last time I was in I ordered eggs and hash browns coffee milk and what I got was a smashed potatoes I don't know if it's the regular cook big guy with red hair the food was gross waitress nice ...

The food was great. As always. My wife got the dill pickle Bloody Mary and ask for a double shot. The Bloody Mary was 7.50 the extra shot was $8 didn't think that was fair.

Apparently the person preparing my Patty Melt has never prepared one. Raw burger ..ick..no grilled bread...2 patties of burger meat, raw...diced onion...just not a good sandwich. However Rachael was simply the BEST. Sorry will not revisit.

I absolutely love this place. Been going for years but tonight the service was terrible! I've never had this issue before. Ordered drinks, wonderful. About 20 min later had to ask for our waitress to take our order. When she asked of I wanted anything else and I hesitated to look at the menu to make ake sure, I got an irritated sigh. 😤 like it was an inconvenience. Food was amazing as always! We weren't checked on, had to walk up and ask for a refill of our drinks. It wasn't busy. I will always go back but I hope I never have this issue again.

Not a lot of seating room, made it feel very nostalgic! Atmosphere and service were top notch! They made my burger exactly how I asked, next time will go with medium because it was almost to tender. Definitely want to go back!

We scored and they had a special for 2 6oz sirloin, 3 coconut shrimp each, fries and salad for 27.99. We upgraded to the bake potato. The service was amazing and food was delicious! We will be back.

Food is always great, drinks reasonable, atmosphere has that hometown & very comfortable feel, and the service is friendly, efficient and staff makes you feel welcome and "at home". Good place to meet up with friends - more of a mature crowd. Love going to Dave's!

Small place but good food and good prices on drafts

Food was "okay" at best. Saw good things posted about this place and was excited to finally try it out. Sad to say, was the first time trying it and might be the last. Burger was undercooked, and nothing special considering it was $15.99. The crispy fries were good, but the amount you get was a little dissapointing. If you want a cheap draft beer that's a plus but that was the only positive thing I took away from here.

I thought the hash browns were dry, other than that no complaints

Dave's has always been our favorite for a good low cost meal. In the past you could always count on them being about 20% to 30% less than other comparable bars. Unfortunately now their prices have increased to the point where they are at par or greater than comparable bar and grills. At least they still have the same good food and great service!

Best Fish and Chips in Spokane!

Excellent bar food. The French dip had a lot of meat and the chicken strips were pieces of real white meat, not processed. I would recommend the steak fries over the crispy fries.

Been here for breakfast and now dinner. The staff are friendly and the food I'd good. They get pretty busy so if you can't find a seat then you can get you order to go.

Daves never disappoints. Popped in here for breakfast. I was going to get their reuben because its very good but they werent serving lunch yet so i got the mexican omelette that was on special. I didnt even realize it came with country style hashbrowns until the waitress asked if i wanted gravy on them. Yes! Oh my god, it was heavenly and the omelette was stuffed with a shredded pork shoulder seasoned just right- something like mild carnitas. I had to take a togo box because a three egg omelette plus all the potatoes and gravy was more than i could eat in one sitting. (It was great heated up later too.) Hard to beat the value too, we all had an adult drink and came out to around $20 per person.

Service was great, fish way over cooked. We read reviews that said the fish and chips were good. They were not and a hefty price of 26.00 per plate. Will not be back for that for sure

Overall our meal was satisfactory. We do not eat out often at all. When we do it is a special treat and something exciting to do as a family. So coming in with excitement, only to hear the new manager go on and on in a none discrete but loud conversations of bad mouthing and degrading a prior employee that happens to be a family friend. No matter the differences behind the scenes of business matters they should not be discussed in the open in front of customers. Or just not at all. Not only did it create a negative environment that should be pleasant and welcoming, but it also showed a very unprofessional and gloating side.
