Best oysters around, they said these are Alabama oysters, but you barely find oysters that good in Alabama. A bit more expensive than you expect in that kind of place, $22-24 a dosen. And you have to wait in line for 20-30 min, but they are really worth it! All other food is just ok

We always get fresh hot food there and it's really good. There's been one time when they didn't do so well on the corn, but other than that, their food is always amazing. We especially love their baked & chargrilled oysters!!

I have always loved this place since the first visit a few years ago. The food and service have always been top-notch. The Sampler Platter is my "go-to" on the menu. On my last visit, I even found 2 small pearls.

Saw a friend there so took up the table too long, but the service was amazing and we cleaned our plates!

Just went to Dave’s as we usually do once a week since we moved here from the Tally area a few years ago. Great folks, food, etc USUALLY until TODAY! While we’re not officially “locals” born and raised, we’ve been in enough to be known by name by some and face by most. However today, just after I was pleasantly greeted at the bar and asked if I was having my usual, I was quickly and somewhat abruptly confronted by one of the hostesses, not rude but quite direct. Shoulder tap just as I was about to sit…”Excuse you but did you check in with the hostess, we have a wait at the bar!” I asked when that started as FOREVER and almost everywhere, bar seating is 1st available. Mind you there was an open seat, that I planned to occupy…and two more patrons leaving (just finishing their Tea’s). She quickly replied that’s ALWAYS been the policy here. I let her know it was the first time I’d heard of it there or ANYWHERE! As well as how “DUMB” that concept was. To the owner/mgmt…certainly if this is a “policy” you’d have it indicated somewhere…but my question is why? I would LOVE to hear the rationale as opposed to simply, “Because I said so!”

Stayed in Navarre for a week and my only complaint is that we didn't eat here until our last night! By far, the best meal and the freshest/biggest oysters of any other place that we ate. Waitress was awesome and atmosphere was great. Can't wait to go back!

There were some things I didn’t like about the restaurant but I understand it’s not a “family restaurant”. It was 3 adults and 6 kids. So it wasn’t the ideal for us but was good. Was a little pricier than I was expecting as well. But overall was good!

We enjoy the Oysters Rockefeller. This time I also had the unicorn fish tacos. The service is always lovely, the food is delicious, the portions generous, and prices are fair. We keep coming back.

We looked all over Navarre for raw oysters, then we found Dave's. Awesome food and the young server (bartender)from Ohio was great. We will definitely go back.

I know this is a locals favorite but I just don’t see it. The best way to describe it was buffet quality. Our service was amazing. The room was too warm. We had the oysters and they were really good flavors and if that’s all you’re coming for you may have no complaints. The rest of the food was hot lamp warmed, not hot at all. Which matters with fish, mac-n-cheese and okra. The choices was mostly potatoes and the gumbo really lacked seafood. The prices were reasonable though.

Huge Fresh oysters grilled, steamed or raw with the freshest of seasonings. The best of Florida’s finest seafood cooked to perfection. The service is quick, informative and personable with quick whit and a friendly attitude!

Update and current review. Since we have always had excellent food and service here, we brought our 6 guests from out of state here for dinner. To our suprise only one who ordered clam crowder liked it. I was suprised, that even my go to tacos were not good. The food was way over salted and the salad looked sad. It was embarrassing. We have never come for dinner before so who knows if that was the issue. xxxxxxxxxxxx We had oysters both raw and baked, excellent. The shrimp tacos are awesome, too. I will be back for sure. The place is clean and staff is attentive. Bathrooms are like new. Plenty of parking. It's not a small place, high ceilings. I will take pictures next time we go. They are closed on Monday. Check their times opened. I have nothing but good things to say about Dave's. Update we went back had more oysters and shrimp tacos. Denise our server was awesome.

Our waitress Ms Denise was wonderful! Very polite. But the food.... I had the blackened catfish and it looked like half a fillet cut in half. It wasn't blackened. More like sprinkles of something, but it wasn't seasoned. The black eyed peas were very bland. The white rice was hard. My husbands wings weren't seasoned at all just tossed in sauce. The spinach dip had no flavor. My daughter's chicken tenders were seasoned well. They were juicy. The customer service was great but that food just wasn't seasoned. Taste like food for old people.

Excellent, fresh seafood and great service. If you love seafood this place should be on your must-do list of restaurants - it's one of the best in the area.

Shrimp curry was so good. Sampled off hubby's seafood platter plate, and his was good too. Even the fried okra was good. Service was great and she was the only server even.

I visited Dave’s with a friend for the first time last night. Everything was excellent across the board: the food; the prices (relatively speaking); the very professional, hard-working manager (Dana); and the terrific two bartenders (Luke and Johnmichael) who served us dinner and drinks.

Great tasting food! The fish was done very well. Tacos and shrimp boil were also really good. Ample space inside for seating. The service was very good. It did not take long for the food to arrive. I would surely recommend a stop here.

I was here a year ago and it awesome. I came back this year and ordered the same thing it was awful! So mad I spent money here. I ordered blacked shrimp tacos and they were not blackened in fact they had no taste at all. Had corn on the cob and it had no taste and was soggy. So disappointing. Do not waste your time going to this place. Completely went down hill.

Everything was great accept the sautéed crab claws. They were tough and stringy. We always get them, and they are usually great. The peel and eat shrimp and oysters were fantastic.

Food is awesome. Atmosphere is great. Took a chance on this jewel and was definitely worth it. The staff was outstanding and knowledgeable. Prompt service. I cannot say enough about the food. Baked oysters, fried oysters, red fish, etc.. amazing. We will be back for sure.

Great start to our vacation here in Navarre. Started with tuna dip and crackers for an appetizer. The creamy and light dressing provided a nice compliment to this dish. Dinner orders included Fried Oyster Dinner. Shrimp Boil Dinner and Grilled Redfish Dinner. Oysters were perfect with boiled Napa cabbage and a side of black-eyed peas, simmered in bacon. Delightful! Shrimp Boil included red potatoes, a small ear of corn, and a sausage. A super tasty blend of flavors! Grilled Redfish came with fried okra and Augratin Brussels Sprouts. A great blend of local seafood with southern comfort dishes. Desserts for the table were Chocolate Lava Cake over ice cream, a super yummy sweet treat. The Key Lime pie was made on-site and didn't disappoint. Great service with personable waitress who was knowledgeable about the menu options and how items were prepared. High ceilings in the venue make it noisy, but it is a friendly and homey atmosphere, so it was enjoyed as we had a great dinner with our family.

The food, service and the staff here is always a wonderful. They're blackened fish and different side items like the cabbage and brussel sprout casserole are the best around. Great place to eat. I am a repeat customer and would highly recommend them.

As good as the food here is, and it's really good, the service might be better. Oysters are great but this place is a lot more than oysters. This place is a no-brainer, must try.

Service great. Server was very personable and provided great suggestions. Ordered a variety of oysters, fish, shrimp and kids meals. Everything, yes everything, was great. Fantastic experience. This should be on your "must-do" list.

Tried the fried pork rinds and they were the best I've ever had! The clam chowder had the largest pieces of clam meat in it than I've ever seen. For reference, I am above 60 yo. Lol. Will definitely be back with my daughter!

The best part was the view! From the drink to appetizers, salad, and entrees, it was a NO, NO! The food wasn't it at all... The calamari was tough, the hush puppies were not homemade, the wild rice seemed like 90-second microwaved rice, and the blue cheese had a mayonnaise base that overtook the taste. The salads seemed like they were premade and taken out of the refrigerator (day old), the steak was overcooked and under-seasoned. The only entree that was worth the money was the parmesan-crusted stuffed shrimp.

We asked some locals about where to eat and 3 different people suggested Dave's. All of the staff was amazing! Dawn was our server and did a fantastic job! She was friendly and efficient. The cheese grits are awesome with some kind of a secret ingredient! I'd go back just for the grits! The catfish and grouper were great, and I was happy to find turnip greens on the menu! They even have pepper sauce. We'll be back when we pass through again! Highly recommend!!

Very relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff

This is an amazing local gem. We visited while on vacation. The oysters are reasonably priced. They were large and tasty. Our table enjoyed three dozen raw. I had the blackened catfish with a side of Key West Napa cabbage and collard greens. Both were excellent!! The cabbage was tender and tasty, as were the greens. The entree was three catfish filets, a very generous portion. It was cooked perfectly. It was moist and tender. The blackened seasoning was not overpowering. I highly recommend Dave's oyster bar if you are ever in the area. We will definitely eat here again when we are back in the area.

We had the smoked tuna dip which was awesome. We split a seafood plate with catfish shrimp and fried oyters. It came with 3 sides. Delicious and more than enough for the two of us. I am definitely going back for baked oysters, they looked amazing. Beer and wine at very competitive prices. Were too hungry to get pictures of the seafood platter.

Wonderful service. Great food and LOVE that none of it is over-salted (why don’t more restaurants know that we can add our own salt, if necessary, but can’t remove it?!!). For taste (primarily) as well as health reasons, I cannot enjoy salty food. Only negative at Dave’s is the noise level due to poor acoustics but still must give it a “5!” (4.8 not an option.)

A casual down home Florida seafood restaurant serving fresh oysters and other seafood dishes with a friendly and casual ambience.

We came here on a whim after leaving the zoo. We had a great experience. Our waitress was attentive and patient with our questions. Great atmosphere. I had the blackened snapper. the snapper wasn't blackened very well and a little dry. But it was still very good and a large portion. For appetizers, we also ordered the crab bisque, tuna dip, and sautéed crab claws. The crab claws were amazing and topped with herb butter and parm cheese. The husband said the tuna dip was the best he's ever had. Fried oysters and fried okra was on point. The crab bisque was very different but it was good and flavourful. we'll be back if we're ever in the area again.

Dave’s is always a favorite since the time they opened. The food is unmatched and understandably, the place is usually packed. Plan accordingly! Today my friend and I had the blackened shrimp tacos and fried okra! ❤️❤️There’s some TVs for catching the game while hanging out a bit longer, a nice bar and frosty beverages. It’s a bit loud, so bring your game voice.

We found this restaurant quite by surprise as we were looking for places on the route to the zoo. The food was excellent. My husband is a fried oyster expert and said these fried oysters were the best he had ever had. He also liked the onion rings. I enjoyed the "veggie" plate. One could order 4 sides and did not have to pick and choose between regular sides or premium ones. Side salad, cheese grits, mac and cheese, and fried ocra were my choices. Would definitely recommend!!

While vacationing in Navarre we stopped by this establishment and had dinner.....great restaurant and young lady whom was our waitress was great. Great food and sevice....we will revisit when we come back to Navarre.

Save yourself from guessing if ordering oysters...get the Charbroiled Keywesters! Tried every single one and the Keywesters were Amazing! As were the Chicken Tenders my son had. Service was also excellent, everyone working together. Must stop!

Can’t believe I didn’t take photos. Oh, so good. Hubby had the oyster po’boy. Plenty of oysters. He shared a couple of the fried oysters with me that fell out. Oh my! I was torn between fried oysters or baked Parmesan oysters. Like our children—loved the same despite their differences. Yes, the Parmesan baked oysters were perfectly done. The park accented the oysters without being overpowering. Hubby enjoyed the crispy fried okra. A huge delight was being back in Florida and finding HOOTER BROWN beer. There’s no other beer like it, and we miss it when we leave. A delightful place to eat. Casual, relaxed atmosphere.

Omg, from the crab claw appetizer to the raw oysters, clam chowder, buffalo shrimp, to the amazing seasoning on the napa cabbage, broiled fish and shrimp to the amazing key lime pie!!!! This place is amazing and now added to our list of 'must eats' when we visit! 😍

Food was great! I’m the seafood lover in family. My husband was impressed with food portion. It gets a bit noisy but I’d go back. There’s a fair amount of parking. Night we were there was busy and had a 45 minute wait to get in

I wouldn’t want y’all to be any different. We have found our go-to seafood place in NW Florida! Dave’s is a family friendly place and it seemed that everybody knew each other. We were immediately comfortable. We reminisced about eating fresh oysters on the half shell at Capitol City Oyster Bar years ago in Montgomery. These were just as delicious! I had the oyster po’ boy and it was fantastic! Dave’s is certainly worth the drive to Gulf Breeze! Wells and Leigh Warren, Auburn AL

Good food and service. Had a cup of gumbo and the grouper lunch special, then the triple chocolate bread pudding. Wow! All was very good. Will be back!

We just ate here and had a great experience and some of the best food since moving to Florida! Dave's is clean, has lots of space and soft lighting. Our server, Wendy, was very polite and attentive, always making sure we had anything we needed. She even made sure to ask if we needed a coloring sheet and lighter lemonade for our toddler (she just added some water so it wasn't so strong). We will be coming back to try more!

In town visiting family who lives just a few minutes from Dave’s. We came here 3 times with them as this was their recommendation. Awesome food (best oysters my wife and I ever had) we live in Maine and they gave us a run for the money in the seafood department. Great pricing and great service over all. Cannot recommend Dave’s enough.

We had the clam chowder and it was delicious! Best I’ve ever had! Chunky and fresh. Had to take a gallon back to Missouri it was so good!
