Agree with comments about the rude customer service; this place absolutely sucks at it! Who cares if the gelato is good when staff can't even smile or treat customers with respect? Also, don't give your customers unfriendly looks and comments if they change orders, order too much or too little, don't tip, or want to try samples...that's what customers do fyi and you also don't deserve ANY tips. Better to make expectations clear with a sign or something instead of ruining people's day. This is especially for that tall, blonde white lady who I think runs the shop. Learn and show some respect.

The tall woman who serves at the front desk (she may be one of the owners) is extremely rude. I love the gelato there, but she should focus on cooking and not serving the customers. I am a customer because I love the service, but every time I go there and receive service from her I swear I will never go back.

Don't sleep on this place! Definitely the best gelato. Fresh made cones. Great sugar free and dairy free options. Fantastic prices! You cannot beat it in Richmond.

DeLuca gelato is really delicious gelato. i went 2 days in a row. You can get a sampler of 7 gelatos so that you have choices. I got dark chocolate, salted caramel, and mango sorbet the first visit. The dark chocolate is my favorite, paired with a mango, strawberry, or raspberry sorbet. Deelicious!

Great gelato, but poor customer service and small portions. I wasn’t going to say anything after a less than pleasant experience the past few visits but hit my limit today. The lady behind the counter who I’m assuming is the owner makes you feel like you walking into the shop to buy gelato is an inconvenience. She always seems annoyed and impatient with simple questions about their vast selection of gelato. I’m sorry but people are always going to ask questions and take a moment to figure out what they want when there are 50 options to choose from.

Had a milk shake made with the dark chocolate peppermint gelato!

AWFUL customer service. Lady acted liked I kicked her dog and made the ugliest face when my 6 year old asked to sample the strawberry and the mixed berry before she decided what to order. Definitely won't be going back there again. If you hate your job that much find something else to do!

This place is the best interesting cold treats in my life. WHICH I am old. My older son & his Da are purists. Yet they love they both tasted Raspberry Balsamic. Lennon-chello/blueberry sorbet there are no words. If I could, I would work for I work get paid in pint.

Deluca Gelato has become my favorite spot for ice cream. They impress with an extensive array of ice creams and delightful Sorbetto options. The ice cream's creamy texture is a pleasure, and the staff's friendliness enhances the comfortable atmosphere, making it perfect for meeting friends. Not to mention, the competitive pricing and minimal waiting time for service make the experience even more enjoyable.

Nailed it... First time and definitely not last. Great folks. Ice cream is old world flavors to fruit forward delicious concoctions... Mix it up like we did. WOW!

Had the pleasure of visiting DeLuca Gelato for the first time after dinner on the Friday night. The place was busy but the two gentlemen working were efficient. I've never seen such a variety of gelato. It was delicious and a decent value. All the outside tables were taken (people were basically hanging out after eating) but there was ample seating inside. We could have had after dinner chocolate fondue at the Melting Pot or gelato. So happy we chose the latter. Will definitely be back.

My preferred gelato place due to its quality, selection, and specifically texture. If you like your gelato with a bit of stretch this is the place.

We recently had Deluca Gelato do catering for our wedding dessert! Nick was extremely responsive and professional regarding the planning, as well as on the day of! The gelato was absolutely delicious and we got so many compliments from our guests about great it was! Would highly recommend!

Best Gelato I've ever had. I got a tub for my dad for Father's day and he loved it. Couldn't recommend it more.

The gelato is so good. I also appreciate that they keep the ice cream with nuts in a separate case. It puts my mind at ease since my daughter has a peanut allergy. It’s clean and everyone who works here is so nice.

Our daughter is allergic to multiple food items, and Deluca Gelato was able to accommodate her with their wide array of non-dairy, nut free, gluten free, and egg-free options. Most of all, I appreciate their attention to avoid cross contamination. All dairy free and nut free options were separate from other options, there are dedicated scoops for each flavor, the server washed her hands and a new scoop (to be extra safe) before serving my daughter her ice cream. Also, all their ice cream is made in-house, and they have a schedule to make non-dairy, nut free ice cream first before their other flavors. In addition they said they double sanitized their ice cream making equipment after each batch is ran. Deluca Gelato, thank you for making it possible for my daughter to feel included in the fun of going to an ice cream shop and enjoying a treat every once in a while. You have found a new loyal customer for sure.

The best gelato in Richmond, they have a lot of flavors, some of them dairy free, sugar-free. The staff is not rude, but they can improve their customer service. Sometimes, you barely hear them, and they have to figure out it may take several minutes to choose a couple of flavors from the huge menu they have.

If you love ice cream this is the place for you.. I have tried every ice cream place everywhere I go (gelati Celeste, brusters, cold stone) all of them doesn’t compare. I eat other ice cream places wishing it was Delucas. I make my fiancé travel 35 minutes to get me a scoop. 100/10

Their gelato is the best, with so many flavors to choose from. Also, these cookies are also absolutely delicious. Everything is made in-house and the employees/owner are very kind. This is now going to be our go to shop when craving something sweet, which is a lot lol.

A fantastic little gelato shop with plenty of flavors, lots of charm, and clearly marked allergens. Much cheaper than other chains in the area and a touch less sugar and calories as well. They have cute little loyalty cards so be sure to pick one up and keep coming back for a good deal. My fiancé and girlfriend and I visit regularly and the staff are sweet enough to recognize us and always make the afternoons or evenings a little bit brighter.

DeLuca Gelato is one of my favorite places in Richmond, every flavor I've tried is amazing. They're the only place I know of where I can get chocolate orange gelato, which reminds me of Christmas time when I was a kid.

Gelato was good but the guy serving the ice cream was very rude It was our first time to this place and wanted to taste few flavors before deciding on something. He wasn’t in a mood to give any samples and was clearly showing the frustration when asked for one If they aren’t doing samples, they should have told the same and I would have left from there Finally ended up taking whatever we have tasted as we didn’t know how other flavors taste I wanted to give 1 * for the service but didn’t want to leave the gelato taste behind

Great gelato. While not classified as 'ice cream' in the US, this is a creamy amazingly delicate dessert that will leave you wanting more. Don't settle for the piccolo size...go for a bigger cup because you'll want more. Will make a return trip as soon as humanly possible, as they have so many flavors you can eat here daily and still not try each one. Pumpkin pie was to die for. A+ and recommended.

Deluca Gelato is a favorite treat in our family. It offers great seasonal varieties of both ice cream and dairy-free sorbet. While the menu may seem overwhelming, tastes are given to ensure that you are happy with your selection although I also think it's a way to expand everyone's pallet. We have also had one of their cakes for a celebration and it was great - fully customizable. Everyone really should visit this gelato shop!
