One of our favorite places to eat! Excellent homemade Amish food! Reminds me of home. And the mint iced tea is delicious!

I had my service dog with me but because my dog is small they assumed she wasnt, made me feel unwelcome, if it wasnt for my parents i would have left. This was my first time there, I didnt even get to look around and get a souvenir. 😞I hope the waitress has a better day she seem upset.

Love the food here. The bread rolls are the softest you’ve ever had and the pies are phenomenal! I personally enjoy the buffet option and the ice cream for dessert.

Nice, clean restaurant, very large selection at the buffet, there is also a menu, very good, healthy food. If you want vegetarian food you can choose what you want at the buffet. Nice service. Will eat there again!

I ordered egg and sausage.. nothing fancy. But I know when I read the ingredient list on the take home, it is not good for my body to ingest all those long list of non food items included. Why do they add those chemicals in place of good homemade simple ingredients, food items that keep a body health. Even. If they used Mediterranean Sea Salt and placed it on the tables for our use, it would taste better and be oh so much healthier. But, I only go there once a month, with my church ladies. It is a clean place and the servers are nice,

Came down to have breakfast what could i say!!! Beautiful outside and inside. Staff very friendly. We did have to ask for hotsauce and ketchup but thats minor. We opt for the buffet even tho we are not big buffet people. Let me tell you pretty good. Only flaw is food wasn’t near warm. If we come back this way defiantly will try regular menu. Donut holes on the plus side fresh light and airy. Give Der Dutchman if you’re in town. Started getting busy around 10 am on a Tuesday but not to crowded

Very nice, clean place with a large gift shop upstairs and a bakery downstairs. Their buffet is amazing. All your comfort foods. Even a nice salad bar. Plus you can chose to just order from a menu. It is a must experience. Prices very reasonable.

People have been telling us for years to try this place and I’m upset I waited this long! Took my family here today for lunch, we arrived at 11:30 am & were promptly seated. Shortly after greeted by the most pleasant server I have ever met! All 5 of us did the lunch buffet & boy was it delicious! From the chilled salad plates to the main entrees everything was amazing! But Sandy was the star of the show, while the food was delicious, Sandy made our experience that much more memorable! She took our drink order and brought fresh baked bread that may be the best rolls any of us have ever had! Our drinks were never empty, our plates as soon as finished she was right there to clear the plates, she had a handful of tables at this point and still managed to service everyone with this amazing service! She was kind and personable and even took time at each table to talk to all the guests. Towards the end of our meal a woman walking by had dropped a full plate of food and was completely embarrassed, Sandy ran over & quickly told her “mam you don’t have to clean that I will do it!” And the woman quickly began calming down. Not only will we be back & recommend Der Dutchman but we will request Sandy y name as she was terrific! Thank you Sandy for the wonderful experience & I owe you some Hershey Ice Cream!!

Great lunch here today! A very well laid out, clean and visually appealing establishment. Service was outstanding. I had the creamy chicken and the Mrs the liver and onions. Both were hot and very tasty. Recommend you stop by and give them a try.

Excellent service and terrific home cooked food. Everything was clean and the entire visit was outstanding. We drove 2 hours and we're not disappointed.

Amish buffet in the SW of Florida, the food is delicious, they have by far the best hash browns cheese casserole, but isn't only your regular buffet it's a complete Amish experience, they also have a bakery and a souvenir store

Love, love, love! Made it a point to eat and shop here. This Amish restaurant has THE best food, service, and atmosphere. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, enjoying a little bit of everything. We shopped in the gift shop and bakery, picking up delicious treats to share. Never miss an opportunity to visit this establishment.

I went for a business presentation, so I was in one of their meeting rooms. The breakfast buffet was good. The selection was very broad and included the usual egg, meats, fruits, cereals, breads, and beverages. And it was very good, so it was good for food that sits in a warming tray. I got there early, so it was all still hot and fresh. I did look around a bit and will definitely go back to try other meals like lunch or dinner.

If I could leave a review less than zero I would do so. The area where the restaurant is located was devastated by flooding. Der Dutchman did absolutely nothing to support the community that supports them. The Yoder family that was flooded out offered hot food for 2 weeks. Palm Grove Church provided hot food and supplies. I will never spend a penny at Der Dutchman especially after an employee told me that as a company they would not want to help those in need.

I can only attest to their buffet and bakery as they are working with a limited menu due to construction. However, their breakfast was superb all round. There is a huge selection. Lunch offerings are a bit bland and boring to my taste but the salad bar more than makes up for that. Service and atmosphere are top notch and it's a very clean place all around. Everybody there is always super nice and accommodating. The bakery is amazing and again their breakfast is top notch for the price! Highly recommended!

We went there to eat pastries. Average in terms of taste. On the other hand, the restaurant is perhaps worth trying. It is open continuously and is always full. To have. We were disappointed by the pastry but the atmosphere is worth discovering. Amish store on the 1st floor. We rested in front of the restaurant in the rocking chairs.

Was there a year previously for breakfast was not as good however return for lunch they did an awesome job. The food was great. Everything was cooked well a lot of selections. Their dessert including pies was extra although you get a dollar off could be a little bit cheaper. do the economy, seeing five bucks to pay for a piece of pies a little too much butthey may have to consider that for future everything was clean. They did have gloves when you’re handling the spoons and the serving utensils.

Pretty cool buffet. You need to make a conscience effort to not eat yourself to death, and then they still offer ice cream after. 😮

We were very disappointed by this restaurant. I grew up in going to Amish restaurants and going to their farmers markets. They would be ashamed of what was served on this buffet. It was a good menu, but could have been so much better with higher quality ingredients. The restaurant was very busy and loud. Our server did very good. We will not be going back, and will not be participating in the hype that this is a good place to go.

Also a must-visit when we are in the area. Wonderful food, Large bakery, and a lovely bunch of workers who are always polite and kind. Food is a down home cooking vibe and Bakery has so many fresh items!!

My friends and I really enjoyed the buffet! My highlights were the mashed potatoes, the broccoli salad, friend chicken, and the turkey! The pot roast was a little dry and the green beans tasted canned but those were the only disappointment to me. They had lots of options and were cleaning and refreshing frequently. I ended my meal with the strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla soft serve. I was too full to finish it but asked for a box because it was so good! It had a very consistent texture and didn’t have any large pieces of rhubarb which can feel like eating celery. It wasn’t too sweet and it went really well the ice cream. Susie was our waitress and she was very attentive and helpful. I’m going to have to come back and try the breakfast!

Anyone who complains about this wonderful restaurant is crazy. We've eaten here a dozen times. We've eaten at their location in Ohio. Both are EXTREMELY CLEAN and the food is DELICIOUS. The staff is friendly, attentive, and extremely professional. The price for the buffet is far less than others, considering it is AYCE. The food is made from scratch with consistency every time. My only complaint is we don't have a Der Dutchman closer to Port Charlotte.

Bought a slice of sugar free apple to go today and it had mold on it. We also bought a full size cherry pie and it was really sweet with barely any actual cherries.

We've been multiple times prior to our last visit it and it was one of my favorite buffets to go to when in the area. This visit the food was just alright and they started packing it up 30 minutes prior to closing with plenty of people still seated and eating leaving only a few options for dessert.

I was very excited for this place. It's a great place to get good buffet food, and and a lot for your money. Wouldn't recomend for a catering service though. They seemed very unprepared for us, and didn't seem too enthusiastic that we were there to even begin with. Just didn't feel very welcomed, as it was for our wedding. The server that met us upfront was so kind and was so sweet, though. He did an amazong job presenting us with our catering options. Great place to eat at, just not good for catering.

One of the best bakeries around, fresh baked goods all the time. Their food is also good. Their fried chicken is delicious. I do dine in, and take out on occasions.

Came at the end of breakfast buffet was around $15 per person and the food was cold and lack luster to the dinner buffet. I've been here plenty of time my grandparents live across the street and was looking forward to it all summer but was very disappointed for the price it was cert expensive for the same you can get at Dennys.

Used to be good food and plenty. Now so so food that you have to fight for. Patrons take all the chicken soon as it c comes out. I don't think potatoes and corn are enough for 18.99 a person . That was all I got last night and on my birthday too

The atmosphere is very welcoming, I had better expectations of the food, within being Amish, the chicken was salty and super dry, the mash potatoes seems like they were from a box, not a lot of options, the bread pudding was Amazing though that why I rating it 4 out of 5 stars.

It's a very authentic experience, the waiters and waitresses are all dressed up. Coming from PA, some of the food was basically just diner food. The fried chicken, though, was perfectly cooked.

It has been many years since the last time I was here and goodness how much as changed; unfortunately not for the better. I was excited to bring my husband, son and his girlfriend as first timers to the restaurant. We came all the way from Brooksville and opted for the buffet which wasn't there the last time I was here. We were seated in the sunroom where there were just 2-3 tables occupied while we were there. The waitress was nice but not very attentive. Most of the food that we picked was cold and bland. Also super disappointing was the gift shop. I could not was to buy Amish made goods. Instead most every thing was made in China. I always thought the Amish were the only ones to stay true to culture of making things from scratch and from their community. I guess the Almighty dollar got to them too. Definitely not worth the trip for us.

If your looking for simple but good American food this is the place to go. Lunch always has fried chicken and a few other meat options, Amish noodles, mashed potatoes ect. A little bit of everything but not as large as other buffets. They also have a regular menu for people with smaller appetites, I enjoy the food but recently service hasn't been great.

This is our second time here and it did not disappoint...The food is delicious and the service is amazing...Our server was very sweet making sure we were doing ok...

More of a tacky tourist destination. Had the buffet so that's the food I'm judging by. I was disappointed in the fried chicken. Dry, and the actual chicken (not the breading) was flavorless. The veggies were just plain, boiled veggies, no flavoring. The noodles (chicken noodle soup type) were salty salty salty. Mac and cheese was generic, food service, Mac and cheese. I'll eat my foot if it was homemade. Dessert was disappointing. I'm not a big bread pudding person. The cakes were bland. Both my sons said the vanilla cake had a chemical taste to it. I did enjoy the meatloaf. Excellent glaze on it. The dressing (stuffing) was also fantastic with the pieces of turkey mixed in it. Should've went with my instinct to go to Yoder's, but the fat person in me saw "buffet" and couldn't resist.

I am not one to leave reviews however, was so disappointed and disgusted, I felt compelled. This was our second visit to Der Dutchman with family visiting from out of town. Our first visit was so-so and my wife said, let's try again and see if they can redeem themselves. It is clean and staff are pleasant however , this was the only upside. We selected the breakfast buffet. We were extremely disappointed to say the least(for the second time). The meat was cold, eggs were barely warm, potatoes were barely warm as well. The bacon was so overly done it crumbled as soon as you used the tongs to pick them up. Now for the desert bar. I thought I would get something to try and fill me up however, as I was approaching the dessert bar, I observed a gentleman waving the swarming flies off of the deserts to make his selection. I was so disgusted, I simply walked away. I mentioned this to the waitress and she said, "I'll tell someone!". It was not the waitress's fault however, we will never return and the health department should definitely check this out.

I woke up this morning, called my 80 yr old Mom and said “how would you like to go to breakfast and have so many choices your head will spin?” She replied “Oh yes, where are we going?” I told her “Der Dutchman of course!!” Breakfast was fantastic!! Eggs, cheese sauce if you wish, fresh onions and green peppers to sprinkle on if you want, cheesy potatoes and regular ones, bacon cooked to perfection, biscuits with the BEST sausage gravy, mush, pancakes, French toast, syrup…the buffet table was filled and it’s hard to remember it all. It had fruits and a whole section of delicious looking desserts. I didn’t make it to the dessert section because of my biscuit and sausage gravy, egg with cheese, onion, and green peppers and my cheesy potatoes. Our server was so polite and attentive to mom because she ordered coffee. I came in with my walker and requested a table and asked that a chair be removed so I could sit on my walker and I was accommodated graciously!! The gift shop, bakery area was stocked full of wonderful food and gift ideas. Mom bought an Angel Food cake for a great price! So that was our trip to the Der Dutchman…a wonder eating experience.

Been here a few times. I like how the waitress dress like ladies, not like jezabels . The food is good.. the buffet is typically fresh. The price is reasonable. Overall I like the place. Visit once twice a year.

We have never ever had a bad meal here. Everyone else is always friendly and accommodating.

The food is great in the restaurant, I would only suggest that they improve the attention of the hosts, sometimes they are not as friendly as they should be. I don't know if it's because of racism or lack of experience. The store they have upstairs is very diverse and has nice products, although a little high in price. I hope their quality is in line with the price, those who serve this area are definitely as friendly as the cashiers on the first floor. I wonder if those in the restaurant are stressed because I see no reason for any of them to have a bad temper.

Their customer service is excellent and so is the food in the bakery. The gift shop has a wide variety of items to choose from. It's worth the trip just for that. The buffet wasn't too bad. It had a couple of items that I never tried before, such as bread pudding and candied yams. The rest of the buffet was food you would expect but it was good.
