DervishMazza is not a restaurant. It’s a memorable food experience that the charming and lovable Mo puts on all by himself in his backyard. Raised in Egypt, and with a passion for cooking shaped in France and New York City, Mo is the real deal. His dishes are Middle Eastern/Mediterranean specialties, many being vegetarian and vegan.

The hospitality and absolutely delicious food was amazing. A truly unique dining experience. I would recommend to anyone who loves dining out and good food. Will definitely go again.

This is a unique and fantastic dining experience that, for the right group or person, will provide a meal/night out you won't forget. There's just too much here to cover in one review, but if you love Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine, are open to a curated food adventure from a talented chef and incredibly hospitable host, and want to enjoy the warmth of a good meal in a comfortable home setting with the ease and pacing of a few hours to relish and delight in, then you're a great fit for this evening.

I am so grateful that my new friend Madi suggested Dervish Mazza. My partner and I wanted something special for a celebration and we were very pleased with the delicious meal Mo provided.

Mo is a true artist of Mediterranean cuisine. We love his food so much we’ve had him cater our winter party 2 years running. His flavors and personal service are as good as it gets.

We’ve enjoyed Mo’s food at his home and via take-away in the past, and so asked him to put together a plan for a large holiday party at our home, which would have been a challenge for many caterers. From the initial menu planning, through each check-in with Mo and then all the details of the event itself, Mo handled it all with ease and professionalism. Every detail was thoughtfully considered including the serving platters that showed off the food to it’s best and even homemade NA cocktails for guests. Mo’s cuisine is some of the best we’ve had in the Cities, and all our guests got to experience that same quality, with flavors many had never tried before, all presented beautifully, and with Mo there to walk them through the experience. We are still getting notes from guests raving about the food! If you are looking for a truly memorable experience for your guests, I can’t recommend Mo enough for your next event.

What a spectacular experience! Upon arrival we were greeted with cocktails (including the most delicious NA beverage) and started snacking on pita with za'taar. Once we explored Mo's space - very eclectic art and furnishings- we settled in the dining room for a delectable 6 course journey. From the amuse bouche to the dessert, everything was delicious (Mo accommodated dietary preferences) and Mo was a delight to chat with. We felt spoiled and the evening was like nothing we have experienced before. This is a must!

Better than even some of the best fine dining experiences in the city. Its a great atmosphere and you can relax and take your time to have good conversation. My wife and I had our first date here and now we're married! We came back recently for a second time.

Adding to this fun evening was our host, Mo, who entertained us with wonderful stories as well as his colorful descriptions of each course. Mo was fantastic. He worked with me to throw a private celebration for my wife and our friends. We had 16 people that fit perfectly in his backyard. His communication was strong leading up to the event, and presence was exactly as I would have hoped during the event. There were timely courses, pleasant and educating style, interjecting periodically, also leaving us to interact in between. We hadn't done a private event in a backyard like this before, so felt a little odd driving to this location and approaching the home. However upon entering, a welcome drink, beautiful place setting and incredible course after course, made for the perfect evening celebration. I highly recommend Mo, the food, and this unique private setting. Such an amazing evening.

Mo hosted us for a private party in his home and it was such a wonderful, intimate evening. He was such a great host and put so much time and thought into all of the food and drink, which were all delicious. Would love to do another event here in the future!

Used Dervish Mazza as light catering for a large scale meeting and it was delicious! Mo was very accommodating and helpful, and everyone raved about the food. Can't wait to return for a full meal.

Dervish Mazza is such an incredible experience of artistry, connective spirit, integrity and professionalism. You are served all homemade dishes by Mo, the chef and host himself. If you are lucky enough with weather, you are served outdoors in the dreamiest patio landscape. The wine pairings went on incredibly well with the food. I could’t recommend this experience more!!I will definitely be booking again. See you there :)

My wife and I took some close foodie friends for dinner at DervishMazza! This was one of the most memorable nights in a long time. The food was stunning. We had a six course meal pared wonderfully with homemade cocktails and wine. Each beverage selected to complement the food. Each dish was very different and was so tasty I feel like I wanted to just keep eating. Everything we were served was made from scratch, and you could tell because the flavors were so rich and so full. Also part of the experience was we were invited into Mo’s house as his guests. He treated us very well. Laughing with us and joking and telling us wonderful stories. The whole evening can only be described as magical. I highly recommend this as a place to go to lose track of time and feel like you have been transported to another place. It was stunning.

Mo prepared an amazing private event, six course meal for my wife and her friend's 40th birthday celebration in the comfort of our own home. Not only that, Mo drove two hours (each way) to make this event a memorable birthday celebration for a party of eight of my wife's closest friends (no husbands allowed). We began preparing six weeks in advanced with a conversation about menu, food preferences, food sensitivities, and logistics of this surprise party. This process was seamless, and Mo came up with a menu that was accommodating for all preferences. He sourced all of the food, and prepared much of the meal in our home. As host of this event, his communication was excellent. The food was amazing with drink pairings for each course. Mo is a warm personality with the highest quality of hospitality at the forefront of his mind. This was not simply a dinner, but a true experience. He is a very talented cook, with flavors we have never experienced. He even gave us a sample of spices to keep for use in our own cooking. If you have never done a private, in home event, Dervish Mazza is the place to call (and I interviewed five different cooks for this event). You can be sure that we will return the favor of us driving two hours to visit Mo's restaurant in the near future. Oh yes, how do I know the food was so good if husbands were not involved???....There were leftovers for us to try and have for dinner the next night!

What a wonderful and unique experience.. wow! 5 course dinner, each was amazingly flavorful and incredible, with different wines paired with each dish. My date and I were extremely impressed & we will be back!! Chef Mo has created something spectacular that everyone needs to experience. Don’t get me started on the ice cream martini dessert! Everything was WOW. Thank you Mo!

We enjoyed a beautiful Mazza Dinner at Mo's. Mo was a kind and easy host. The food and beverage for each course was delicious, well-paired, and excellently timed. I loved that Mo seemed to be consistently experimenting with the food and flavours and inviting us into those experiments. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

From start to finish, our experience at Dervish Mazza was just incredible. We were warmly greeted by Mo as he welcomed us into his home, and we were served several courses of delicious food that spanned the spectrums of tastebuds and culinary influences. What a wonderful night! If you are tired of QR codes and transactional dining, this is THE OPPOSITE of that. Intimate, cosy, delicious and nourishing to both the body and the heart. I can't wait to return with more friends and family.

This was an incredibly magical experience; Myself and two friends enjoyed the Mazza dinner event with multiple courses, drinks and dessert. The food was absolutely divine, flavorful, and we really enjoyed Mo’s passion for hospitality which came through with the impeccable interior design of the space (cozy and filled with art and warm color tones), the sharing of the background and ingredients behind each dish, and the thoughtful presentation of each course. We will absolutely be coming back again and recommending to any and all friends to experience this absolute gem of an experience!! I also really appreciated the thoughtful accommodation of providing incredible NA options for our guest who was not drinking.

We have gone twice to Dervish Mazza with groups of 6 to 10 people and left 2 hours later smiling and laughing with eachother and Mo! Healthy family style dinner menu with great service delivered in a relaxed home atmosphere!

This dining experience is something that you will tell your kid's kids about. It's so well done in every way and incredibly inspiring.

Highly recommend experiencing Dervish Mazza. We had a delicious 7(?) course meal from Dervish Mazza. Every course came with a story and a different, yet complimentary flavor. The courses also came with an alcoholic pairing if you were interested. Mo is a great host who's energy is a blessing. We can't wait to return to the patio when it's warmer.

Mo is a most inviting host, and watching him prepare and serve our food was a truly choreographed and wonderful treat. A beautiful and wonderfully plated seven-course dinner, the food was absolutely marvelous and hit all the high notes! Our wine never ran dry and at the end, our host sat down with us and chatted. What an absolute treat for my birthday ❤️❤️❤️ HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
