Was very excited to try this place out. However was more disappointed with the reality of my experience. It took over an hour to get our food (simply three rolls). The server never came to apologize or check on us during this time. By the time the rolls got there the hangry level was through the roof… and the food? Tasted like any other generic sushi. My final thoughts: disappointed

Sushi was alright. Nothing to write home about. Took 40 minutes to get 3 rolls. I expect more than 6 pieces of sushi for $16. We were done eating in 2 minutes. The bread pudding was good.

Dharma Blue never disappoints! The food was delish, the atmosphere was a whole vibe, and the service was fantastic! We were able to get a table without reservations even though it was busy, which we really appreciated on the part of the host. There has not been one thing I have ordered from here that was disappointing. Top notch place to eat and definitely a great representation of Pensacola cuisine!

We didn’t have reservations but the hostess made arrangements for us. We were a party of 6 and the service was outstanding. Ricky was our server and he was amazing. Food was delicious and the experience was wonderful..

Great space for business meetings, either at a table or if renting the private room in the back for a larger party. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Plenty of gluten free options, and even offer GF tamari soy sauce for sushi!

When my husband and I scheduled brunch at Dharma Blue last weekend, we didn’t even know it’s located in the historic Smith House! Built in the late 19th century, this charming house is a notable example of Pensacola’s rich architectural heritage and has been delighting locals since 1996. Each light fixture in the Smith House is unique and adds to its historic charm, making it a truly special place to visit. And the food? Absolutely incredible! From the fresh seafood to the perfectly crafted sushi, every dish was a delight. Our brunch was not just a meal, but an experience, enhanced by the cozy and historic atmosphere of the Smith House. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out on one of Pensacola’s true treasures!

Was seated, several employees walked by/around me and looked at me, sat for over 10 minutes, no service

Went there this evening on a date with my husband. After I had taken a couple of drinks from my tea I noticed something on the rim when I touched it I realized it was blood. I told the server and was told it was probably just lipstick (would have been better but still yuck) informed gmher was definitely blood. ( I am a nurse and worked in hospitals for over 30 yes. Think I know difference between blood and lipstick.) She informed me she would get me another, never apologizing. At meal it did have good flavor asked for check and to go boxes. She brought them to the table and dropped one one the floor then proceeded to pick it up and hand it to me. To top things off even charged us for the tea. Turned a nice date night with hubby to a bad mood.

Definitely had an experience. The food looked good, and was average overall. The service was a little disappointing. I don't often leave reviews when things aren't completely positive, but I had recommended this place and raved about it to find that it isn't as good as I recall, or maybe they were having an "off" night. Sat at the table for 20 minutes before being greeted and brought waters. We were never offered a second round of drinks, there was never follow up with anything. We waited 30 minutes while the table next to us got boxes and their check. We wanted to get out well before they closed, but ended up not receiving our check until close. The food and service was not the value of what we paid. I feel bad writing this.

Called to make a reservation. They said it was walk in only. Once I arrived they asked for my reservation, which I explained I was told I couldn’t make one. Eight open tables later I was told it was an hour wait.

The Cucumber Cooler drink and Smoked Tuna Dip are absolute must haves!! The Miso soup was amazing, and the TNT, Crunchy Shrimp, Crunchy Tuna, Rock n’ Roll, and Big Papi sushi rolls were delicious! Our server Hannah took such great care of us, it was overall a great restaurant experience! We will definitely be back in the future!

Small but really good place for a date night

What a great experience. The food was amazing. The staff was amazing and the environment was spectacular. Place looks like a little home that was built in the early 1800s but that doesn’t stop it from bringing in some amazing flavors to the sushi. This is definitely on my top list of sushi places That I have visited. So definitely put this place on your to list when you reach Pensacola, Florida. Mealz And Dealz 👊🏼😋👊🏼

Although no single-word translation exists for dharma in any European language, the term is commonly understood as referring to behaviours that are in harmony with the "order and custom" that sustain life; "virtue", or "religious and moral duties". So it is with Dharma Blue! The food is unbelievably good! It is a culinary transportation to a higher level of being. I would aspire to live here!!

The sushi, the appetizers, the service, and the atmosphere are all excellent. I come once a week and wish they were open for lunch. Try the big papi roll, bruschetta, and ginger salad.

Love the cocktails and sushi options in addition to the full menu. Attractive decor with unique artwork. Noise level can be a little high. Outside seating available and good for people watching in Seville Square.

This place was aaaamazing!! You have to try the vampire roll. Best way I can describe it is as a fusion between Japanese and American (hint: there’s bacon on it). Our waitress was very nice and the drinks were out of this world. We had the jalapeño mule and and blueberry mule. Talk about quality. The bruschetta was amazing. I loved the presentation for the tuna poke. Not as amazing as the vampire roll, though.

Small but complete menu (blackened pork chops, steak, burger, grilled or blackened snapper/grouper/mahi mahi and more). Good choice of appetizers - solid wine list and cocktails as well. Our server (so sorry I didn't get her name, has some connection to Elizabeth McGovern) was A+. Interesting atmosphere and collection of customers - families to solo. The sushi menu looked terrific with great variety but we were in for fish - fried oysters, crab cakes, grilled grouper and blackened snapper were all great. Too close to call any one of them The Winner...I guess we'll have to go back next time were here for more 'research'.

Loudest restaurant I have ever been to. Felt like I was eating in a loud bowling alley. I would not recommend it. Crammed in seating , no sound baffles. Couldn’t be worse. Dont go there

Restaurant was tastefully decorated, and the drinks were great. The service was slow, and the restaurant was so loud I could not hear myself think. This is definitely a restaurant for patrons under 40 . Food was for the most part, good, but not great . I don't think I would repeat this experience.

Way way to noisy inside. We went on a Friday night and it was very busy. There was just four of us, and we could not hear ourselves at the table. They need to do some noise reduction. everyone said their food was good. However, I had the grouper special and it was so salty. I could not eat it. We were excited to try it since so many people talk about it, but we were shouting at each other the entire night just to have a conversation. we won’t be back.

We went for brunch and were sat immediately. Then, we waited for 25 minutes for not one interaction. No menu, no drinks, no server. It was not busy or understaffed. Went across the street and had food in hand in less than 15 minutes.

First time visiting. Bottomless mimosas were only $10. Our server Richard was amazing (best service we have had in months). Food was great and that's coming from my boyfriend that is VERY picky. If he gave it a 10/10 then you know it's good!

First time here, after several recommendations. Sushi was delicious! They are owned by Harbor Docks in Destin, so I'm not surprised. My swordfish was cooked to perfection! Mahi mahi was very good blackened. Chicken pasta was amazing. Tuna dip was the best we've had even over Boshamps. Highly suggest stopping in for date night or while visiting Pensacola.

So you pay the price. Atmosphere was nice.. next day ,nobody yet has said the food was soooo good. Pretty average food.

I really like this place. I've been twice. Food: honestly my favorites are all on the appetizers list. The calamari is delicious but also plentiful. The banana peppers that come with it are delicious. Also the baby heirloom carrots 🥕... GET. THEM. Seriously, I've never had carrots like that before. Finally the smoked tuna dip is 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 get extra pita bread. Service: both times I've been the service has been great. They give good and honest recommendations and are on top of things. Atmosphere: it's pretty nice. Both times in the evening it's been busy. I ate inside both times because it's been hot lately but seating outside seems really pleasant. Also the bar across the street sometimes plays live music too 🎶.

Not crazy about the Seafood Festival menu.

Seated inside. Was given a menu & water by hostess then waited a while for a waitress. Ordered then never saw her again until I asked someone else for my bill. I asked someone else for a refill of my water. First time in many many years I didn't tip over 20%. Service- POOR. The place is VERY noisy. Do not expect to have a conversation. The door to the restaurant (an old house) slams each time someone comes or goes. It shakes the whole place. Outdoor seating & service means non stop door slamming. I would suggest a door device to soften the door slamming. Atmosphere- eat outside only or go elsewhere A went for seafood, but the selection was slim unless you want sushi. Ordered oysters and sushi. The oysters looked beautiful- great presentation. The breading was a little heavy/thick, but not bad. A little over cooked causing them to be a little hard and not as juicy as they should be. I would give them a B- to C. The sushi was average- fresh ingredients but not much taste. I would give the rolls I tried a B and the recommended roll a B- or C. No dessert was offered- not even to go. Food- average Overall, the food wasn't bad, just not as good as I hoped for. Service was poor. Atmosphere- not for me. When leaving, the Fish House sign was lit up across the street and I wished I had gone there instead. I really wanted to love this place, but it's just a miss for me. There are some really good places close by- I won't go back to this one.

I eat here every time I make a trip to Pensacola. The food is amazing and the server, Liz, whom we have had consistently is always outstanding. We will come back every time we visit.

Super noisy, questionable bar drinks, luke warm miso soup and sushi on par with supermarket pre-mades. Folks raving about the food likely have not traveled outside the region. Save your money and find someplace else.

First time dining here, and I had heard good things so I wanted to try it out. 30 minute wait for a table, which was fine. From the time we were seated to sushi arriving was just about an hour. I'm hoping it was just an off night because they seemed understaffed, or that was their excuse at least, but the sushi was on par with Publix sushi. Not a mind blowing culinary experience.

Bronson our server was fantastic. Party of 4. Took some friends there for the first time. Sushi was perfect, the chicken was great, blackened pork chop was amazing. Snapper was delicous. Will be back.

Visiting from Atlanta, got a recommendation for Dharma from the manager of a shop down the way - told them that we were tired of the fried fish scene that all the visitors go to. Hannah helped us understand the menu and provided great recommendations when asked. I had the filet of beef… one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We are on our way back now for dessert…

SERVICE - We got our tables quick. Our Server, Hannah, introduced us with her name and gave us our drinks immediately. She was nice and quick to give us her honest opinion and best options. She was engaged in honest conversation without being a saleswoman, which I respect. 9/10 ATMOSPHERE - A little dark, a little older, but not bad. With the quality of food and service, the atmosphere lacks to keep up, but nonetheless, the wall art is nice. 5/10 FOOD - Food came on time. Dharma Blue owns their own marina, so all of their fish is caught fresh. 8/10 Dragon Roll: delicious. I could taste everything and all the flavors melted on my tongue. 8/10 Big Papi: Dharma Blue's best seller, it really was all it was talked up to be. So far it's the best sushi I've ever had. It had a combination of vastly different flavors that all somehow tasted like it was supposed to be together. 10/10 Tiger Roll: Not bad. I definitely tasted the fresh raw fish, and me not being a big fish fan, it tasted amazingly fresh without it being fishy. 6/10 Spicy Octopus: Wasn't spicy. Great, Amazingly fresh taste. 6/10 Creme Brulee: Amazing, great flavor, the fruits went well with it, I wish it was more. 9/10 OVERALL - This is the Best Sushi spot in Pensacola, FL that I've ever been to. Fair Pricing. 9/10

I finally made it to Dharma Blue! I would see people sitting out on the porch enjoying dinner and now I see why, it's fabulous! I was looking at the menu from home and thought I knew what I wanted until I got there. Haley ( hope I spelled her name correctly) was my server and she was a doll. She really knew the menu well and answered all of my questions. First up, smoked tuna dip as an appetizer. It was soo delicious, and Haley suggested adding jalapenos on the side which was absolutely spot on! I love spice and it really added something special to my app. Next, I asked about the different fish specials and a fish called Tripletail was mentioned. I had never heard of it but was told it was similar to Grouper, which is my favorite. It was superb! Served with a crawfish pan sauce atop fried green tomatoes, it was truly love at first bite. It was served with a Dharma salad which had sliced almonds and mandarin oranges with a house vinaigrette. I couldn't have asked for a better dish. Everything about Dharma Blue is lovely, from the old home with the beautiful front porch to the art on the walls, it's a wonderful experience. I'll definitely be back!!

What an amazing place. We stopped by tonight in the Blue Wahoo's game and wow it did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and Emma was the bartender and she took awesome care of us. Yoshi has trained some of the best sushi chefs on the Gulf Coast and tonight proved it. Our sushi was amazing! The Big Poppi and the TNT was on point. This is a great local favorite at a hidden gem. Great job tonight.

Love the old small house feel, some of the best sushi in Pensacola, I was lucky enough to have a server named Olivia tonight, hands down the best server, she offered plenty of recommendations and explained differences in different styles of sushi. She is very pleasant and professional. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town

Sushi was ok, but the portions were tiny. I was looking forward to it as someone said that they give you “big” portions. Smallest portions we ever had in 30 years of eating Sushi.

The chicken pasta is so good. 100% will be getting again next time. The waitress was also super nice & knew the menu really well. The pita bread with smoked tuna dip is really good too.

Dinner tonight with disappointing. The volume was way too loud to enjoy a quiet dinner. The Sushi was way after the entrees and was served warm. Service was mediocre and never asked how was dinner.

Went to go eat Monday night. We told the hostess we wanted to sit outside, and we waited 30 minutes. She then proceeded to tell us we could only sit inside. We told her she promised us a seat outside. She then told us it would be another 20-25 minutes to get a table outside after several people were seated after we came. She had told us that the wait was longer on the inside but then told us after 30 minutes that she was wrong that the wait was longer on the outside. She was rude and condescending. We won’t be eating there again.

This place is a welcome change and a well-kept secret. Great vibe and yes, pet friendly we were able to take our dogs with us. Snapper was fresh and prepared just right. Smoked dip and calamari, both great starters. Our server Haley was friendly, polite and efficient. Will definitely recommend and visit again.

Man, this sushi was amazing. It tasted super fresh and the cuts were huge, so it was well worth the price. A nice spot for date night and I like the decor in here. The calamari was delicious and the seasoning was perfect on it, plus the banana peppers are a great pairing. The bread pudding was to die for, and the creme brûlée was very good (but I have no frame of reference as it was the first time I’ve ever had it). Edit: Came back a couple more times and the quality wasn't as high as before. The sushi was smaller and less fresh, so a bit disappointing.

Average food, bad service experience and rude manager. Got there early like 5:45 pm. Mostly empty dining room. Was told they might be able to seat us. Sat us next to the service area, kitchen and bathrooms. Very loud and busy. We asked to move and we’re told they couldn’t do it as all the other tables were reserved. We got our food around 6:45 and the place was still 33% empty. My wife was getting the stink eye from the staff and did not feel comfortable eating. Manager came by and said she would remove her entree from the bill. No conversation, no apology and looked put out.

It had been a few years since our last dinner at Dharma Blue so thought we would give them a go. Went online to check out the menu and to see if I could make a reservation. No mention anywhere on the site about reservations so I assumed they did not take them. My wife wanted both steak and sushi and the site’s menu showed a ribeye which is her fave cut. So my wife and I along with another couple arrived at 5:45. The restaurant might have been 20% full but we are told that they will try to seat us. Eventually we are sat next to the wait staff service area at the intersection of the kitchen and bathrooms - probably the least desirable seats in the house. We asked if we could have another table and we’re told the other tables were all reserved. By 6 pm we were served drinks and appetizers and our main orders were taken. The noise from the service prep are and coming and goings from the kitchen was such that we could barely carry a conversation. By 6:30 the restaurant was maybe half full and the tables we had inquired about moving to earlier were still empty. My wife made some comments at the table that it was odd that they would not let us move when the tables were still empty. Our server came over and asked if everything was okay and we said we were not happy with our seats and the server rechecked with the hostess, came back and said that there was nothing she could do. For the next 15 minutes we were getting odd stares from the staff including kitchen staff that would come out giving us smirks. The food arrived about 6:45 and my wife said she did not trust that the food had not been messed with based on her observations of the staff. The rest of us ate our sushi which was decent, not great. My wife did not eat her steak. The server came by and volunteered to get the manager to talk to us. The manager asked what the issue was and did not apologize for anything and hurriedly offered to remove the steak from the bill and she was gone. She had a scowl on her face the entire time. Such a shame as this used to be a nice restaurant. At 6:45 our meals arrived

I have been looking forward to patronizing this local restaurant for sometime. The evening that I thought that was going to happen turned out very differently. I called ahead to make reservations for the evening because it would be a larger party and I wanted to make sure we could be accommodated before even going. I was informed they weren’t taking reservations and we should just walk in. We arrived at the restaurant and was turned away immediately. We told the hostess that we were ok with not sitting together, and we also would do outside seating as there was two available tables and a third becoming available, but they weren’t trying to hear it. As we gathered outside to figure out where we now going to eat dinner there were at least four other parties that arrived with 4-5 in each party and they we’re seated right away. I was really let down that I had friends to travel all the way here from South Florida and had to experience this in Pensacola. Dharma Blue you really dropped the ball with this one.

The service was excellent the good delicious. The sushi was top notch. Both the seafood salad and house salad with house dressing were wonderful and the fried calamari some of the best I've had. The place is also dog friendly with outside accommodation. I highly recommend Darmah Blue to anyone with or without a dog. Excellent experience.

My friends and I met here thinking we would be enjoying some food. When we asked for a table a for 9 we were told we had to make reservations, but when we called before meeting we were told they were not taking reservations and to just walk in. We were very disappointed seeing two open tables and a third table that was about to be open as well at the entrance

I was really excited about eating here after reading the reviews, HOWEVER, the experience was nonexistent. We called for a reservation for 9 (due to having a larger party and knowing large parties are harder to seat) and was told that there wasn’t a way to reservations, so we should walk in. Upon walking in, we were advised that they “were a small business” and couldn’t seat such a larger party. After I advised that we called and were advised that we could NOT do a reservation, the hostess stated we couldn’t be seated. After walking outside and seeing two tables (that sat 9) I walked back in and inquired about putting those two together. The hostess FIRST replied with “we can’t do that”, the said she’d verify with the manager. The manager then responded with “we cannot do seat a large party”. However, they seated 4 other parties… EACH WITH 4-5 PEOPLE after us. What was the difference? We were black and those parties were all white. It’s sad and I will NEVER enter this establishment.

We read the reviews and decided we would like to experience this establishment. We called ahead and was told they don’t take reservations when we got there we were told they are a small business and for a party of nine we had to make reservations. We offered to be split up in a group of four and a group of five and they again said no we can’t take a group your size however there were several groups of four and five coming in and being seated. Needless to say we were denied service and extremely disappointed

Very disappointed I’m from Tampa Florida here celebrating a friend graduation on becoming a police officer it was a group of 10 and so many available tables onsite no reservations was required so we walked in only to be racially discriminated against telling us we can’t be seated they don’t have the availability to sit 10 so we said we would politely take multiple tables that was available outside with no customers using them at the present moment and we were still told no they can’t services us as we stand outside snd wait we saw other potential customers walking in as groups of fours and sixes also with no reservations, but was being seated this is outrageous and unacceptable. We live in a world where we as people should be treated equally.

Nice restaurant. Room temperature sushi wasn't that great in my opinion and my friend that went with me didn't like her sushi either. Cute restaurant though and our server was fantastic. Might return for something other than sushi.

We had to sit outside and were really cold because they were really busy. If you plan to go please make sure you call ahead for a reservation. I ordered the steak and it cooked exactly how I like it. The fries were crispy and well season. I normally don't like spinach cooked but this spinach was incredible and juicy. For dessert the Creme Brulee is a perfect dish. Highly recommend the restaurant

Would give 5 stars but they were out of many menu items. A quirky restaurant walkable from downtown Pensacola. Random funky interior and eclectic in both decor & menu, the sushi is the hit. It’s a bit noisy but fun atmosphere and our server was great. Would highly recommend & will return.

This was always a favorite place. Panko crusted FRESH grouper was wonderful. The key lime pie was quite creamy. Loved the atmosphere and service, thank you Haley (Hailey), was superb!!! Never an empty water glass!!

Our server was just so amazing, she talked with us 4 or 5 times for minutes at a time, she was very good at her job. If I could give more stars for atmosphere I would. The server we had was so attentive, friendly, and patient. Hands down one of the best steaks I've ever had. The sushi was excellent. If I could afford it I'd eat here all the time. Possibly my favorite restaurant in the are. If you're considering going here, do it.

Went here because of the reviews and was excited about the grouper special but.. they were out. Settled for the Mahi special which waitress said was excellent but she was wrong. It was not bad but just had no flavor and slightly overcooked which is sad for a $34 entree. Wife got the chicken pasta and it was too hot for her even though they said it was not spicy. So she didn't like hers and I didn't like mine but I did eat some of the chicken and thought it was good. Place has great atmosphere but it is pricey and I give it a 3 star.

Sushi was great. Service was a little bit scattered and the inside of this place desperately needs some sound panels to dampen the constant roar of voices and kitchen noises, but it was overall a very good experience.
