It has been many many years since I was last at the Duaz Cafe. Perhaps 40! The chicken adobo, the pansit, and the lumpia we're the best ever. Try bringing them a nice big fresh fish, and see what happens

Growing up in Ketchikan, I used to eat at Mama Diaz's with my grandmother. It was a special place and for 36 years of being away from home, when I talked about Ketchikan, this was always going to be at the top of my list, as far as things to do. Shortly after my arrival back home, I went to Diaz Cafe with my family and I must say, for as good as the food was, I was disappointed with the lumpia. They used to be a lot better, but now, it seems like they didn't change the cooking oil or something. Other dishes like the egg foo yung and whatever else was in the family platter were pretty good. It's just the lumpia that weren't all that great. I was amazed that the place looked exactly like it had, when I left, nearly 4 decades ago, and would not tell anyone to avoid eating here. The lumpia may not be as they were, but the food is still tasty enough. Sadly, I only went just once in a month. Maybe I will try it again, next time.

I only give it a 4 because they were out of chicken adobo, but I know that's not their fault. They sold out and then were too busy have more prepared! Loved the owners and enjoyed their friendliness and pancit!!

Excellent food with a varied menu. Sweet and sour pork with pineapple on rice is a long-time popular favorite for many. Not a lot of ambience and gets fairly loud when crowded but the food makes up for that. They prefer cash payment but will take credit cards now with an added 5% surcharge. Their hours are limited, 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Closed Sunday/Monday. They also close completely for a couple of months during the winter.

Not fancy, just GOOD. The oldest Philippino restaurant in Ketchikan and a favorite with the locals, their pancit alone is worth the trip!

Mi compañero de trabajo y yo tuvimos una hora y 15 minutos para almorzar al mediodía y nos dirigimos a Díaz Cafe por recomendación de un asesor local, amigo de un amigo. Los turistas estaban por todas partes y cuando nos acercamos a Diaz Cafe, los turistas disminuyeron (a solo un par de cuadras de cosas turísticas ocupadas). Todos los lugares que pasamos estaban llenos. Díaz Cafe era discretamente otro lugar en la calle. Entramos para sorprendernos porque no estaba lleno. Pedimos el especial del día, que era un cerdo asado con arroz y verduras. ¡Era un lugar pequeño y tranquilo que estaba limpio! Nuestro maravilloso camarero explicó que su abuela comenzó el restaurante hace 50 años. Un lugar familiar. Nuestra comida llegó razonablemente rápido. Una buena porción de carne, arroz y verduras. La carne se cortó con un tenedor y se derritió en mi boca. Las verduras estaban ricas, el arroz estaba bien, arroz blanco estándar. Mi compañero de trabajo se comió cada bocado en su plato. No pude terminar mi arroz. Acordamos que era fabuloso ya un precio tan razonable para Ketchikan. ¡Muy recomendable! ¡Quiero probar la sopa verde a continuación!

Mi familia ha cenado en el café Díaz por más de 50 años. Almorcé con 2 hermanas y mi sobrino. Tuve una Combinación para 1. Chuletas de cerdo agridulces, arroz frito, huevo Fu joven y chop suey. Mi favorito. . ¿Todo sabe igual que hace 40 años? Muchas gracias por seguir abierto para los negocios. Los servidores son muy amables, el lugar es extremadamente limpio.

La comida es muy buena a un precio razonable. Diferente variedad de cocina filipina y china. El lugar también tiene el mismo ambiente en casa en Filipinas.

Small ,cozy oriental cafe with great service!!

Waste of money. Just threw $75 down the drain. Had the chicken Adobe & sweet and sour shrimp. It was terrible. We did Togo and they added a $13 charge. I've never tasted such a bad adobo. No taste & was very sweet. Sweet and sour shrimp was a soggy coating. I ate there years ago but must have a bad cook now. Very disappointed in the quality of their food.

While visiting the area for a day we happen to ask a couple of different locals for a recommended non tourist restaurant and both mentioned “ Mama Diaz” place for lunch. They were spot on! We got there around 1:30 so the first thing we heard was “ no more special of the day”. Oh well...... I went for the noodle soup with pork and my wife the vegetables with soft noodles. Both outstanding! It’s not a fast food in and out location since they create each order from scratch but highly recommend. The place was still very busy at 1:30 which was a very good sign.

Family owned restaurant. Excellent customer service!!! They seriously make the best sweet and sour spare ribs I’ve eaten anywhere. We make it a point to eat here every time we go to Ketchikan!

Came across this cafe as we had just finished our cruise ship tour and looking for somewhere to eat. Very friendly place. I had the Lumpia and my wife had fish and rice. Met a few Philipinos and learned a little more about life here.

Three generations of Ketchikan residents have made this the go to place for good Filipino-American cuisine. The adobo, pancit and other specialties are excellent and there is plenty of traditional dinner food to float your boat.

As a small girl my parents would bring my sister and I to eat here. The family that runs Diaz has always welcomed us and the food has NEVER disappointed. Now I bring my own children here and they love it just as I do. As soon as we are seated, they bring my daughter a small guy and know exactly what my son & I want to eat.

We had a great lunch one afternoon. Very friendly service. We loved watching Grandma guide her grandkids into how to properly help guests. Our lunch was great! Would go back in a heartbeat.

I've lived in Ketchikan all of my life, and my mom and dad have been here for a long time. Diaz Cafe has always been here, it was one of my first restaurants, and Rudy and Clara have treated me and mine as one of their family. I love these guys, and their food is great. Best lumpia on the island, best pancit, and my favourite fried rice and foo yong.

Old-school restaurant that has been there forever. Filipino cuisine & American lunch standards. The place is unbelievably CLEAN! The chow is delicious & fresh. A go-to place for real food.

I swear, their chicken adobo has healing properties. It is on special on Wednesdays and is easily one of the best and most cost effective plates of food you can get in Ketchikan.

Excellent food! Owner/waitress made a suggestion and we went for it and it was wonderful !!
