One of the top places for dim sum especially for soup dumplings. I think my only complaint for this type of place is that it’s a little expensive and it’s a bit annoying to get a table if you’re going on a whim but if you do a reservation, you’ll have no issues. One of my favorite things is their chocolate challenge bowl 10 out of 10 would recommend. My friend also heavily recommends the garlic green beans. But also be aware that the truffles a little overrated so don’t go too crazy buying all those items.

Din Tai Fung is a truly unique place to dine that never fails to please, right in the heart of U Village. From the second one walks in the door, one is greeted with warm hospitality and the smell of freshly handmade dumplings. The xiao long bao is perfect, light, full of flavor, and always piping hot. Every dish is painstakingly prepared, be it the silky noodles, fragrant fried rice, or tender green beans, which are perfectly seasoned. The service is also impeccable. Their staff is so welcoming, well-informed, and always ready to recommend something new to try. Even if the place gets full with visitors, it offers a personified experience while the food comes really quick and is nicely plated. Now, if you are in Seattle and the craving stretches into top-tier Chinese cuisine, then it is U Village's Din Tai Fung. It's one of those places that makes a meal an experience worth remembering. Five stars, hands down!

If you’re coming to the Seattle area and you want something truly delicious and authentic…Din Tai Fung needs to be on your short list. Our group of 4 tried at least 8 different dishes and everything was amazing. Definitely leave room for the chocolate mochi for dessert. Everything labeled spicy wasn’t too spicy to me. The flavors just kept getting better. Definitely try the spicy pork dumplings and the ribs. Everything is super clean. Michael was our server and he did an exceptional job. The drinks at the bar are all great. Figure a group of 4 will spend around $200 for dinner.

What's not to enjoy about Din Tai Fung? This is a gorgeous location in a busy part of town but still well maintained and worth the trek up for good dumplings. Great variety of vegan/plant-based options so there's something for everyone. The sesame spinach noodles, string beans, and previously enjoyed dumplings are some of the standouts here. Sadly there are still no vegan XLB to be had but I'm sure it'll come in due time. Sadly, they forgot about my vegan dumplings and I didn't have the heart to try and ask for them once everyone had already finished. A small ding on what was already a nice meal. Reservations are a must and be prepared to sit down and enjoy a nice meal with great service.

Visited seattle for a few days and we had to come here multiple meals because it was so good! Entire group is vegetarian and has a special dietary restriction and they were able to accommodate. if you have certain allergies make sure you triple check with your waiter because small details might me missed (we had allium allergy so had to get that removed in our dishes - which they can mostly do and it was great. however one dish came and i could clearly taste the garlic after start digging into it. this was different because our meal prior the waitress came and asked if we want the garlic oil removed, and I said yes, so that meal was fine. However our 2nd meal here, we said we have allium allergy, but this dish still came with it so we had to get someone who didnt have the allergy to finish it :( With that hiccup aside, services was great and attentive - other than not being super on top of all ingredients in their dishes esp for allergy concerns. I still gave 5 star because I accidentally lost one of my bags from shopping outside in the waiting area and I was able to get it back after the realization - I think by that time a good hour has passed by already, so was super thankful for that :) And of course, food was fantastic - explains why we came back again!

Ding Tai Fung in University Village is a classic spot to visit, and it is a must-try for sure. Make sure you book ahead of time to avoid long long wait lines. Their Xiao Long Bao’s are great! Freshly made and very juicy, I would recommend trying some and the dessert Xiao Long Bao’s as well. I particularly liked the Spicy Wontons; they were hands down my favourite. I don’t know if it is worth the 3-hour wait and hype others may say, price can be rather steep too for a group of people. Worth a try but not sure how many times I will come per year, maybe 2 or 3 max?

There is a reason why every Din Tai Fung location is packed, this is the best place to enjoy dumplings. Nothing screams quality more than the fact they make it fresh in front of you. It doesn't taste right! It’s not the smell of Yongkang Street in my memory. Xiaolongbao, sweet without gravy when biting into it Fried rice cake, it seems that the soy sauce chosen has been changed. After using the red oil, the smell of sand tea is gone. Very disappointed Is it because of the transplant to the United States? It’s not that it’s not delicious, but it’s not special anymore and the price/performance ratio is low. Having said that, the taste of what I ate at Dayuanbai in Hsinchu last year has also changed. Gave this place another try! James was our server, he was friendly. What we ordered: 1.) Pork Xiao Long Bao $15.50 for 10 pcs. They were cooked perfectly moist outer skin a burst of soup and pork on the inside. Yum! 2.) Shrimp Pork Wonton Soup, broth was not as seasoned as normal but wonton was tasty. 3.) Braised Beef Noodle Soup the beef was tender and well seasoned and noodles were cooked to the right consistency. I would order this again. Just be prepared as this spot is very busy and noise level can be crazy especially if you have a table of very loud talking people seated next to you! 😳 Update: came back here today for Lunch. Joy our server was absolutely great… unfortunately the food we got today was not on par to what we are accustomed to normally. Lets get to it: 1.) Pork Soup Dumplings: the outer skin was not as soft and supple as usual kind of more dense in texture. 2.) Sweet and Sour Pork ribs my husband said they were a bit too sweet and the meat did not fall off the bone. 3.) Wonton Soup was tasty with the broth that was not over powering and with a slightly ginger taste. 4.) Pork Potstickers they were a bit over cook outer skin was tough. 5.) my husband ordered a Knob creek Rye Neat and he said that the pour was a bit stingy. This restaurant is located on the second level above Starbucks. First time visit. I wanted to have my hubby taste legit Xiao Long Boa. He rarely makes comments on food, but to my surprise he really liked everything we ordered! Alejandro our server was attentive and helpful. We ordered: 1.) Two orders Xiao Long Boa made perfect when you bite into the dumpling its bursts with flavor and juices. 2.) Shrimp & Pork dumplings tasty also. 3.) Won Ton in spicy sauce…yum. 4.) Red Bean Buns 5.) Jasmine Hot Tea We will go again next time I am in Seattle.

Din Tai Fung is worth knowing if you treasure great Chinese/Taiwanese food. Located in the second floor of a sleek office building in toney University Village next to a Tesla dealership, you ride an escalator to the restaurant's entrance. There's usually a long waiting line. While waiting, you can look through a window and see white-clothed chefs hand-making the dim sum that are among the joys of eating here. This is NOT Panda! The food is simply delicious, no matter what you order. Aside from the variety of dim sum, I urge you to order broccoli with garlic. Yes, broccoli! I loved the shrimp and kurobata pork pot stickers. Don't overlook the noodle dishes, wonton, all delicious and served in a modern luxurious restaurant atmosphere with not a trace of kitsch. Do yourself a favor: go there with someone you really enjoy...and do make a reservation!
