Wonderful reception and great staff. It looks really fancy but felt so approachable and lighthearted. Cocktail list is long but had great variety. I enjoyed the Celebrity for easy drinking, very refreshing. Sweet bread is absolutely delicious, very flavorful and cooked well. The tomato salad came with an egg yolk but i don't think it added anything to it. Lamb was great, the chickpea was pretty thick but otherwise good flavor. Again, spinach came with the lamb but didn't add anything flavor wise. As for the steak, got the aged NY and it was cooked perfectly med rare. Go for the polenta, it's so creamy I wish I came in a bigger bowl! For dessert, we got the baklava cheesecake which is pretty dense but the sauce and crushed pistachios were a nice touch.

Absolutely incredible! My dining experience was amazing in every way - from the exceptional service to the delicious food and cozy atmosphere. The scallop special entree was to die for, especially when dipped in the flavorful sauce with fresh bread. The perfectly cooked steak and tasty sides were also highlights. The only downside was that I ate too much and couldn't fit in dessert, as I was dining alone. Minion guided me through the evening flawlessly, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

We were warmly greeted by Maggie at the front. We ordered both beef and tuna tartar and they were both perfectly seasoned. I actually preferred the beef tartar for its rich and meaty flavor, but my wife actually liked the tuna tartar because it was robust in flavor. Our server Peter was very knowledgeable on the menu and even gave us a personalized drink that paired well with our food. We had a light creamy unique cheesecake like dessert to finish our evening (that's the only picture we have the food the rest got devoured too quick)

We had an incredible time during dinner service in July. Anthony (AGM) and Adam (WS) went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, pampered, and taken care of. The food was impeccable!! We had the Schwarma, filet, and ribeye, and each item was prepared to perfection. We will definitely be returning, Doris is our new favorite spot for special occasions!! Thank you!!

Be prepared to be treated like royalty here! You are in for an all around treat! Don’t let the prices deter you, don’t settle for any other steakhouse in New Orleans! The food was gourmet and had my taste buds dancing, the service was perfect, and the atmosphere was very lovely. I ordered the prawns and polenta and I will be going back on my next trip to Nola for more! My husband ordered the Ribeye with mushroom ragu and he’s a harsh food critic. I didn’t hear a word from him for about 15 mins while he devoured that food! The smile on his face was all I needed! I will send everyone I know here!

Food was delicious. Service was prompt, helpful, and efficient (Caesar was great). My ribeye was cooked perfectly, the asparagus and confit potatoes were fantastic, and the wine list had a nice selection. While it is definitely not inexpensive, the dining experience was certainly worth it and a good value. In a city with so many spectacular restaurants, Doris Metropolitan does a good job standing out. I will be going back soon.

The door/entrance was easy to miss, but we made it. Pleasant experience from making the reservation to departure! The place is great, no doubts about it, but the main issue were the steaks. My steak was fantastic - well prepared and everything. However, my boyfriend ordered the exact same thing as I did - but his was terrible. We don't understand exactly what happened - but in the end, we just split my steak and went on about our day.

Lovely restaurant with wonderful food! For a party of 4, we indulged in the Chef's Experience which is essentially a platter of a steaks...allowing each of us to taste a variety of cuts. Each one was perfect and the presentation was amazing. The bread service, cocktails, tomato celebration appetizer, and sides (truffle fries and root puree) were fantastic as well. Our server, Cesar, was top notch. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Ambiance was great too! Music was a vibe, and there's a really nice courtyard for outdoor dining. It was a delightful experience and we'll certainly be back.

We celebrated my husband's 55th birthday at Doris, and could not have been happier with this choice! I did not note his birthday on the reservation, but after being very warmly greeted when we arrived, I informed the hostess. They seated us in the courtyard and we thoroughly enjoyed a delightful meal! Salad and bread to start were fresh and according to hubby, the lamb chops were delicious. I can attest to the filet being one of the best that I've ever had. A personal greeting from the assistant manager thanking us for joining them and sending wine and dessert over were an added bonus. Howard, our server for the evening was excellent. Very friendly, he gave us some great suggestions for the rest of our stay. Overall the evening was just lovely and we look forward to returning again on our next visit.

The GM Anthony took time out of his dinner rush/service time to speak w us about the culture he has created which is reflected in the sublime cuisine creates the chef Yotim and exquisite service we received. This is one of the best steakhouses I’ve ever been to. Staff was amazing and friendly and the atmosphere was perfect! The food was exceptional. The tuna tartare was incredible delicious. We ordered a tomahawk ribeye that was out of this world! It came to the table on fire. Bone marrow was served on the side. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. We are definitely going back! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We probably just had a bad day. The food was ok. But if the rest isn't right, you can find something to complain about. This is definitely a hip shop that you should reserve the day before, which is what we did. But the fact that there was a birthday party in the courtyard with its own DJ really ruined our stay. If restaurants use such opportunities to make money, I'm generally in favor of it (because you want to experience that in your favorite restaurant) but the other guests should then have the opportunity to decide in advance whether they want to eat there The music was so loud that we could barely hold a conversation. The bass rang in our heads for half the night. Then I can't enjoy a good meal and even get annoyed with the waiter who only brings the wine when the main course is almost eaten. Given the selection of restaurants in the area that have at least as tasty food, I wouldn't recommend this one.

I’ve gone to steak houses all over the world and this is by far the worst experience at a steak restaurant I’ve ever had. They had a DJ playing loud music that disrupted the entire restaurant the entire night. The bass permeated my soul in a bad way. We didn’t reserve a table weeks in advance at a dance club. I think they may have had a private party for Cinco De Mayo in the middle of the restaurant but no one was dancing there so not sure why they had such super loud music. By the time we left the bass gave my spouse and me splitting headaches by the time. The food was fine, but someone in my party said their steak (cooked medium rare) was cold. The server was sympathetic to the situation but said the manager would stop by and never did. Overall, I paid a huge amount of money for the privilege of having my last night in New Orleans ruined. I will never be back and do not recommend anyone steps foot in this establishment. If I could give zero stars I would.

My wife and I ate here and "Oh My!" This was the best meal from beginning to end that we had in a week in New Orleans and one of the best meals I've ever had anywhere, probably top 5! I had hi expectations coming to this place as well because all of the reviews were so good. It didn't disappoint, not even close. I would eat here every day if I could afford it. This is not a place to go if you are pinching pennies. It is pricey, but worth every penny! We got an appetizer, 2 Steaks, 2 sides, 2 desserts, and with a generous tip, we spent $250.

We had the eggplant appetizer with tahini sauce all around it, It was the best eggplant I’ve ever had. It was delicious, the eggplant was perfectly cooked mouthwatering. We also had the Porterhouse for two you couldn’t possibly ask for a better steak. It was mouthwatering perfectly cooked seasoned just right, you will not be disappointed. The staff, I couldn’t say enough about them. The staff they were wonderful attentive, and willing and able to do whatever you needed.

We had a wonderful time at Doris Metropolitan. The food was delicious and our waiter Hung was pleasant and attentive. Probably one of the best lamb chop dishes I’ve had, the meat was tender and well seasoned, not to mention the Taziki sauce complimented the favors delightfully. We also had the octopus and bone in ribeye, both were very tasty and enjoyable. If you’re an old fashioned person like me, be sure to try one of their 15 types of old fashioned’s (the New Orleans was great). Definitely a memorable experience, we will be back next time we’re passing through. Thanks again to our waiter Hung for the menu recommendations , conversation, and suggestions to checkout during our stay in New Orleans.

I don’t often write bad reviews but our experience warrants one. We dined at this establishment on 2/23/2024. We were seated and ignored almost immediately by our server. He never introduced himself and seemed aloof and miserable from the beginning. The table beside us received the same treatment we did. There was a table of four beside us, with a birthday, that our waiter attended to multiple times and was pleasant with. We are unsure why we didn’t receive the same treatment. The woman who brought us our waters and bread was very pleasant and helpful and deserves recognition. Even though the service was poor, I had high hopes for the food. I got the tenderloin which was so salty it was barely edible. My husband had the ribeye which he said was okay but on the tougher side. If your establishment is a steakhouse, the steaks should be exceptional or at the very least, good. That was not the case here. The other reviews seem very positive, which is why we chose to go here. Unfortunately, this was a negative experience. We have dined at thousands of restaurants and I would put this in the lower third of them.

Celebrated my 33rd birthday here this past Wednesday and was not disappointed. I was told I would be having one of the best steaks I've ever had, so I tried the Ribeye. Paired it with a pour of whiskey, the ribeye literally melted the second it touched my tongue. The service was also outstanding in that he frequently checked in on us without disturbing us. I'm not much a dessert person, so instead, they brought me out an espresso and put a little candle off the side of the plate. Great birthday experience!

We are snow birds from Pittsburgh who spend winters in South Louisiana. In March 2023 we ate at Doris in New Orleans,with less than perfect results. Anthony, the Manager was very apologetic, comped our meal and encouraged our return to make things right. We could not do so because we were returning home to Pittsburgh, but Anthony gave me his card with personal cell number. He texted his apologies once more and I promised we would return in 2024. Fast forward 10 months. I texted Anthony and reminded him of our visit in 2023. He remembered us (!) and booked a reservation for us and promised he would be on duty to make sure that our meal would be perfect! We ate there last night along with my sister-in-law. We could not be more pleased with the quality of the meal, the service and with Anthony's personal attention to the success of our dining experience! We had "Falls Off the Bone" and were astonished at its tenderness and rich flavor! Anthony comped our prawns appetizer (never saw prawns that large before). Anthony even provided dessert on the house. We have been to so many great restaurants in New Orleans, and Doris Metropolitan is among the very greatest in the city! A great menu goes a long way in making a great restaurant, but it's always the people who make the memories! Thank you Anthony! You went "above and beyond". You did not have to treat us so well, but it is obvious how much you love Doris and its reputation. Thank you for caring about us!

After reading all of the reviews I expected a little more of this restaurant. We were there for a birthday party of 12. There seem to be plenty of service staff but our steaks came out warm and our side dishes came out 15 minutes later. Timing was definitely off. Overall subpar service. .

I have eaten here several times and the steaks are one of the best in NOLA. This trip we went for happy hour. We split the tuna tartare, and the beef carpaccio. And the steak skewers were on happy hour special. All excellent!

My fiancé and I visited Doris to celebrate his birthday. We had a phenomenal experience. The service was amazing, they were SO accommodating, they let me bring in a cake earlier that day before they opened and didn’t charge a “cake fee” as some restaurants are doing these days. It was great. We ordered octopus appetizer and the Chef’s experience with lamb and the classic cut and the food was absolutely delicious as well as amazing presentation. I have zero complaints and we will be dining here again!

I have to recommend this restaurant to everyone, the food was 5 stars and the service was impeccable. Out of all my years of eating at out I have never had service like I did in this restaurant. If in New Orleans and want some amazing food please make yourself a to Dorris Metropolitan New Orleans you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I ate here on Saturday, December 16, 2023, to celebrate big news about a new job. After a round of cocktails, apps, entrees, a bottle of wine (one of the few on the menu under $100), and 20% tip, we were out $500. For that money for two people, I think it's fair to expect excellence and consistency. Both were lacking. It was disappointing enough that it turned a celebration into a pretty frustrating evening of feeling like we got fleeced. First, what was good. My negroni was very balanced and clearly well made. The Ten Green Salad was excellent. (As a $19 salad should be!) The mushroom ragu was tasty, if not a little sloppy and undefined in presentation. We enjoyed our bottle of wine, presented by a friendly and knowledgeable sommelier. Our server, increasingly aware through the evening that we were having a bad time that was not her fault, was charming and professional. Now, everything else. We were seated at a table that maybe ought not exist: stuffed into a corner, between two drafty doors, just feet from the busy and noisy service station. Every other table in the room was more comfortably situated, and we were fortunate to move to one before things got started. The bread was nearly inedible. My guess is that it was substantially overkneaded, as it was as tough to chew as I imagine leather is. The tuna tartare appetizer did taste good, but was sloppily presented (this is a theme), and felt meager for the price. The mains were flat-out not worth the money. Full stop. My $105 ribeye was, to give credit, cooked to a consistent medium rare inside. But the outside was grey, it was under seasoned, and there was absolutely no hint of dry-aged flavor. My wife had the "Falls off the Bone" braised beef dish, which had good flavor, but also had some caveman-grade bone laying across the plate (I guess this is the joke in the name of the dish?); more of the plate was bone or garnish than beef. The asparagus side was, to be blunt, a complete failure. For $15, we were given 4, maybe 5?, overgrilled and overseasoned asparagus spears topped with some sauce that looked like mayonnaise squirted from a pastry bag in a rush. We were not inclined to stay for dessert. I think my limited Google Review history will show that I'm not a complainer by nature. The strong reviews for this place may also indicate that we were there on an off night. (For this price, however, I'd argue there shouldn't be such a thing as an off night.) My wife and I have both worked service jobs, and we try to be the customers we would want: tip well, be patient, don't sweat the small stuff. But for this money, we'd have rather gone to, for example, Saint Germain twice, Marjie's (RIP) five times, Chandelier Bar, or even Crescent City Steaks, which is clearly not the same caliber of steakhouse but is just as intermittently consistent and loads more charming than Doris. I am happy to spend $500 on dinner when the experience is worth it. This was not.

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. However, the service was not so well. I expected more than the hostess walking towards me and burping all over. Spoke to the manager, they did not charge me the two glasses of wine I had. Overall, it was a bad experience visiting the “best steakhouse in NOLA” on Christmas Day!!! If you only want to eat well, go; but if you want to have a good time, DO NOT! Specially, if you are HISPANIC like me! African Americans will despite you in that place.

We got two steaks and because we were celebrating my wife’s birthday, they brought it out on a chopping board with a safe fire! What a presentation!!!! One of the best steaks (dry aged ribeye) I ever had. Perfectly cooked. No sauces. Just salt and pepper on the plate. I also had a very unique and tasty tomato salad. My buddy couldn't stop talking about the steak tartare. Service fine, but uninspiring at this price point. Atmosphere was mah. We were put in a small side room which was quieter than the main dining room but also much less interesting. The sides were nothing to write home about. But, oh my God, that steak! Better than Desi Vegas (ate there the night before) which was good, but they were a AAA ball club, compared to the Majors, which was Doris.

Food: The food was all great, with the short rib being among the best I've ever had. The bread service was also delightful, and as simple as they were, the truffle fries were amazing. For a surprise, grab their version of a Shirley temple and a nice glass of red wine to go along with dinner. The asparagus was also good, and the Ribeye was good, although didn't stand beside the amazing shortrib. Service: I docked it a star for service due to our waiter not explaining the menu, not knowing the different butters, and not being able to articulate the chef's experience. Because of that, we likely spent a lot less, as I was interested in the chefs experience but couldn't receive a clear and easy to understand explanation of what it was or how it'd work. The manager on duty was great, and he made his way to our table for congrats and general checks on the experience. If our waiter would've carried the same enthusiasm, I would've given them 5 stars.

Lots to unpack! The service was absolutely the best I have ever received. The manager (I can’t remember his name) greeted us and made sure to check on us the entire evening. Our server Cesar was exceptional! He was very attentive and explained everything we had questions about. On to the food, we ordered the caviar ($250) and a few other appetizers(octopus, prawns, and bread) and each item was absolutely delicious. The prawns were seasoned to perfection and the caviar was like butter! (Well, it should be for the price 😂) I ordered the ‘Falls of the rack’.. I think that was the name of the spare ribs! And boy did they fall off the bones!! I also had a taste of the lamb chops, the fish (I honestly can’t remember which fish). I absolutely will be dining here again when I am in New Orleans again. I’d give it 10 stars but five is the max. Oh, the ambiance is great for a special occasion.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere, the staff, and the food 🤌, omg so good. The atmosphere is fantastic, low light, wine bottles on display along the walls, beautiful courtyard, and comfortable seats. The staff was extremely on point. The server who brought the bread, dinner, and dessert was amazing at explaining the food and how to enjoy it best. My water was consistantly filled and never had me looking for a server. The food. Omg the food. The bread was baked in house. Fresh. Nice selection of spreads of butter, but the oil/vinegar combo is the best I have ever had. Mouth watering. Dinner was just as good. I got the Picanha. Which has to be cooked just right to be good. It was stellar. The presentation was amazing as well. I enjoyed the small bit of Himalayan salt and crushed black pepper on the edge of the plate to season to your own tastes. Dessert was the Chocolate Nemesis I believe. Amazing as well. Presentation here matches the quality of the dining. Very impressed. This is my new favorite spot when I visit.

Highly recommend! This was my favorite NOLA dining experience. We loved the high end food, paired with the open concept kitchen that just made for an amazing, laid back vibe. Steaks were cooked beautifully, served rested and sliced. The shrimp special was phenomenal. Our waitress was great- she misheard my husband’s drink order (no big deal) and she voluntarily covered it herself. The manager (I assume) stopped to talk with all the guests. We will be back!

So this dining experience happened about five years ago when I went to New Orleans for the first time. And I remember it to this day, and it was the greatest service I have ever received. My waiter Clayton was very professional. I love how they offered me three different types of bread and three different types of butter. They all knew in detail what they were serving. At the time I was working in a five star catering hall in New York City though I have moved on to a 2 Michelin star restaurant in New York City now, so I tend to look at service a bit more with intent ( trying not to sound cocky lol). They did happened to make one mistake. I remember ordering a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and I ordered a Pinot Noir for the second glass and they gave me the Cabernet Sauvignon again. The manager (I believe) picked this up right away and asked if I wanted to take it away and honestly I was so happy to be there and in N.O on vacation. I told her to leave it and I’ll have the Pinot Noir after it. I believe I said “Ya know what, it’s New Orleans, I should have an extra extra drink and buzz ya know” I just smiled at her and raised my glass when I said that. I wasn’t mad at all about the mistake. I did notice it, but the way they went about it was so amazing and so professional that it was just so wonderful. The whole experience was very great and I am actually attending again at the end of this October around the Halloween season (like I did last time). And looking so very forward to dining with you all again :)
