Really great spot! Delicious iced coffee and excellent ful medames - you can tell it was made fresh and was a good amount of food for the price. The owner was so welcoming and the spot is cozy and bright, with lots of plants and seating!

What a cute little place. I had the ful for breakfast, which was the best ful I have ever had! So light yet comforting. I also had the iced turmeric latte made with oat milk which was great. The owner is so kind and really makes you feel at home. There are lots of books and beautiful plants! My friend and I said that coming here is like coming to a friend's house. The only thing is I wish they had had injera😭

adored this cafe! i got an iced coffee and the breakfast wrap w/ eggs, hummus etc. and it was delicious! it was also filling and the ingredients were fresh. the owner was sweet, nice guy to have conversation with and the interior design was lovely🌷

Awesome and unique place. Super friendly staff. The food is delicious and authentic (feels like home cooking). Has several vegan options too. Don’t be fooled by the ongoing construction across the street (which is annoying nonetheless)

This place reminds of a bodega or casual market in nyc. It has a great homey feel with used books and real climbing plants, nothing fake, nor sterile like other cafes. And GREAT iced coffee.

Super cute family run cafe with amazing food!! The owners are very friendly and helpful and the patio is great to sit on during the summer. The inside is filled with plants and feels very calm and welcoming. It used to be more of a grocery store but they are now focusing on the cafe aspect a lot more. Highly recommend!!

Great food, welcoming staff, friendly atmosphere. Laid back vibes. All vegetarian. Most can be made vegan. The food is homemade, fresh and delicious. I especially love the falafel wrap and ful mesdames. I love their coffee. The owners are so nice and welcoming. Free wifi. Great place to sit, relax, enjoy a cup of coffee and/or food with friends or while you work (laptops are welcome!).

It's a peaceful place to get work done or chill and catch up with friends. The owner is amazingly friendly and cooks delicious food. The breakfast wrap is a fav of mine but you can't go wrong with the bowls. Great neighborhood staple.

Came to check it out. Really nice staff. The place is cozy just didn't meet my expectations based on the name of it being a cafe, grocery store, and restaurant. Outside there is construction and the shop is by a busy road. The grocery selection is limited and the items are common ones you can find at the 7 eleven or at a regular grocery store. I was expecting more natural, hard to find, unique, and sustainable products. Maybe even fresh bulk items like trail mixes or rice and spices. Also, with the small space I can imagine how crowded it gets if trying to have a coffee. Not a place to hookup and get work done from what I saw either. I didn't try the food so maybe that is the highlight, but overall, lots of potential on the grocery and cafe part but just didn't meet my expectations.

Quality, family-run neighborhood coffee shop! The best coffee in Shaw by a mile, for me. Whether you like a double shot of espresso or an oat milk latte, this place is perfect for lovers of quality coffee. Plus, delicious healthy Ethiopian and middle eastern inspired food for breakfast and lunch. All served up by a local family. Especially love the ful, breakfast wrap, and the homemade pressed juice blends (e.g. hibiscus-cardamom-ginger-pineapple) Atmosphere: relaxed vibes with chill jazz playing. Zen in the middle of Shaw. Good for the body and good for the soul. Plus, it’s dog friendly!

Edit: went back for their sit down menu (4 courses for $25) and it was delicious. They have a secret menu item which is the most delicious drink i’ve ever had. Ask for their roasted peanut tea and you won’t be disappointed. Love this place - the food is fresh and the service is fantastic. The coffee is off the charts too. If you’re looking to support local businesses I would definitely recommend coming.

I was in DC from out of town and went back for lunch two days in a row! Healthy, flavourful, thoughtful cooking. I tried the falafel wrap and the falafel bowl - hummus and vegetables were really special.

We really enjoyed our meal and time spent dining here. The falafels and falafel wrap were amazing, the baklava was the best we’ve ever eaten and the coffee was fresh, strong and flavorful. The owner Abe is so friendly and a great person to talk too, it was a pleasure meeting him. It’s a true gem in the neighborhood!

Very cute and cozy little shop, will absolutely be coming here again! The coffee is very good, not bitter or burnt. The pricing is pretty fair (I got a breakfast wrap for $13) - as someone else pointed out, one wrap or bowl can easily be stretched into two meals, it's quite filling. Owners were also incredibly kind, and mindful of allergies, just ask! Lovely place.

I enjoyed an absolutely incredible plate of Ethiopian food at this amazing spot! The restaurant / shop itself has a lovely, cozy atmosphere with great music and lots of natural light. The owner was so kind in talking to us about his food, and even brought us more injera for our plate (no charge!) when we ran low. I went with two friends, and we split the veggie platter, which was designed for one person, but hit the spot perfectly for us! The service was incredibly fast, too. All in all: amazing atmosphere, lovely owner, and delicious food! This will definitely be a regular spot for us :)

This is the perfect addition to the neighborhood! I just had a sample of their Ethiopian food and it was so fresh and delicious. I’m excited they are serving that starting today. Their wraps are the perfect quick grab with a great flavor and perfect wrap bread. The coffee is tasty with their own house blend. And to top it off, they have all the staples I don’t want to walk to the grocery store for. Oh and delicious house-made teas in the fridge. And I would be remiss not to mention the kindness of the owners. Lovely people who know food!

Just stopped in for a missing item for my dinner recipe and ended up leaving with very yummy sambousa (not sure if that's the correct spelling) and an incredibly refreshing infused water that made my green powder delicious the next day. Great new(ish) local spot.

The owner of this restaurant is so kind, and their food is absolutely delicious and vegan friendly! I’ve been vegan for over 10 years in DC and this spot has some of the tastiest felafel nearby. The vegan baklava was truly delightful and covered in pistachios I could eat it every day tbh. Vegan paradise ! Also this is all run by one person, so tip well and appreciate the care that they put in to serving you.

Earth Grocery and Coffee Shop has a fantastic selection of delicious Plant-Based, Vegan and Vegetarian Foods including fantastic fruits and vegetables. They also serve great coffee with creatively delicious desserts and all kinds of delicacies at a fair price. Gorgeous grocery offerings are fresh and loaded with Immune boosting ingredients for every taste. This is a nice Cafe and Grocery combination with a delightfully wholesome atmosphere and their employees are fast, friendly and helpful. I agree with all the other reviews that Earth Grocery and Coffee Shop is a safe haven for Health-Conscious folks who are actively looking for super Good Karma alternatives. We really love Earth Grocery and Coffee Shop and it is now our local favorite for Eco-friendly Options in a truly beautiful setting..

Vegan destination! Most dishes at the deli are vegan. Excellent mini grocery with very cool imported foods, like Al Amira and Royal Sella. Most of the grocery is also vegan!

Great small, neighborhood grocery and coffee shop! The people here were warm and friendly, and it was clear that they new their regular customers. I am an out of towner who visited for a place to work on a few things on my computer, and they made me feel right at home. I love the small, but diverse, selection of fresh fruits and veggies, natural foods, snacks, and personal items. If I lived in the area, I would be here all the time!

Such a great place to have in the neighborhood!! Friendly owners, nice vegetarian food, and even groceries and some produce if you don't want to schlep to Giant. And pretty reasonably priced for what a good meal cost these days: $13 (EDIT: recently raised to 14) for a filling wrap and $17 for a bowl that you can easily stretch to 2 meals.

This was an incredible place to stop by on a beating sunny day. Love the food the attention the environment and I look forward to visto and have breakfast on Sundays regularly!

Visited DC over the weekend and I must say they have the BEST Falafel SANDWICHES EVER!!!!!! Also the Coffee was out of this world!!!

I don’t write reviews much but I loved this place so much and I really want to see it do well as a small business in this city. No lie , coffee beans are the best in dc and the breakfast wrap truly may have taught me how to love again. Not to mention how on point the shop’s aesthetic is and how welcoming it all feels . The owner is super friendly and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. I feel like I could spend hours at this little place . Please check this place out . It already feels like a real treasure and that’s incredibly rare to find these days in the District.

Great new carry-out / convenience store / coffee shop / restaurant with a limited selection of groceries and produce. The dry goods are very expensive but the freshly prepared food is not, and it is excellent. Wraps and bowls are both filled with delicious fresh ingredients and beautifully prepared veggies, and both are substantial enough for sharing.

Very cute new little corner store with healthy food, fresh produce, almond butter, generally the kind of healthy grocery items that I now don’t have to walk all the way to Whole Foods to get when I run out of something and want something close by. Owners are very kind. They said they are getting a machine to make lattes etc soon. Will be a great spot to meet friends for coffee/lunch/dinner or just pick up coffee on the go! I just ordered the mushroom bowl on rice. Incredibly flavorful with a ton of variety of vegetables and toppings. Great flavor. And the owners are incredibly nice. Excited to see what else they offer up in the future, like their coffee shop.
