A little roadside shack near Capitol Hill that, without the impressive number of positive reviews, would never have caught our attention, turned out to be a wonderful rest stop. Very friendly and very nice owner. Fantastic hot dogs especially if you let him advise you on the contents of the sandwich. Obviously we did an encore. I recommend everyone to stop before continuing the tour of this area. I've seen many local office workers stop by to grab a hot dog for lunch, and that's generally a good sign. Certainly very different from the other hundreds of identical vans that line avenues like Independence Ave.

You're looking for a nice place to enjoy a hot dog, don't worry, stop by Sami's. Great welcome and good things to taste to recover after a museum, or a visit to the Mall.

We have repeated our stay in Washington. We came for the reviews and we agree with the ratings. Very complete and good hot dogs. Excellent price quality. There are some tables with umbrellas in front where you can eat.

So I didn't think there was a snack bar that deserved a 5 star rating. But the hot dogs were actually really good and tasty. The four of us had 2x4 hot dogs in a variety of variations. The pickled cucumbers are also great. The service was also great. When you look for the stand, you first think that it's no longer there and that it's a bit quieter than directly at the museums, but the stand is exactly in the spot as marked on Google Maps and the journey is worth it. Thank you Sami!

At first I wasn't sure a place could be this highly rated. It lives up to the hype. Everything you could ask for and more, truly a staple.

Sami is the best person and has the best hot dog cart in DC. Right next to a shady park with tables. Come a block off the Mall and relax!

Had to go because it’s a 5 star hot dog cart, like how can you not go? Got the chili cheese dog with a bunch of toppings and boy the chili and dog are so good. Plus Sami was such a nice guy. HIGHLY recommend for a quit bite!

We have been travelling to New York and then we came here, let me tell you that this was the best dish we had in our whole trip. The hot dogs are very tasty and the chili was one of the best I have ever had. Sami is very kind and friendly, he makes this experience even better. I am happy that we can still meet such amazing people on our trips.

Simple and good. He sold us on the hot dog with chili and cheese and it was great! For 5 dogs and 3 bags of chips plus tip, it was $40ish, which makes for a cheap, tasty lunch after the museum! It was a hot day, so we were grateful there were some seats under the shade.

Excellent hot dogs at an exceedingly reasonable price for Washington (especially in this area)! $5 flat for unlimited toppings, super accommodating. As other reviews have noted, very kind service from Sami is another distinguishing factor. He is truly among the greatest, demonstrating genuine care for his customers.

Sami was great but the food wasn’t incredible for the price but still good. My feeble broken destroyed decrepit old unwell forgetful dad thought it was okay but not like it was in his day.

Super nice, quick, and easy. Great hot dog with all the toppings you'd want for no extra cost. I like the shaded eating area next to the stand as well.

I was recommended this by a friend and told it was great. A friend and I checked it out near the end of the day and were worried they were closed. Not only were they still open, but Sami was so nice. He recommended toppings and put them together so beautifully. And to top it off, the hot dog itself was incredible. Perfect bun, perfect temperature, the toppings were fresh. A great experience and will definitely be going back.

It was well worth our walk. It surprised me the cheese had a nice little kit. It was nice to have a place to sit across the street. Will definitely visit there each time I go to DC.

I mapped out 4 places near the Mall for lunches on our family trip. Turns out I won't be needing the other 3 spots. Simple, fast, friendly, well-priced and delicious. Turns out you don't have to be pretentious to be good.

Tourist trap. High prices for a simple and cheap amount of food. Although, Sami's son is kind and guarantees a great customer treatment.

Not that I expect a lot from a hot dog cart, but it was good but not excellent. Sami's looks like all the other carts and I'm not entirely sure there's a difference between his and the others. I got a chili dog with nacho cheese as I'm not a fan of American.

Oh man this was good. Try the spicy peppers if you can handle it. There's a nice shady grass area across the street with seating. 10 stars

Easy 5 star. Tasty hot dogs at a reasonable price. Across the street, there is a park with chairs and umbrellas to stay cool in the shade and eat. Based on the other reviews that I've read here, Sami's son served me that day. Kind guy. There are two kinds of sausages: regular and spicy. Lots of toppings are offered as well. I paid $7.00 for a spiced hot dog with chili, cheese, and jalapenos, that was served piping-hot. I personally love spicy food, so I enjoyed the hot dog, but the jalapeno peppers overpower the chili and cheese. If you want the chili as the main flavor, I recommend going for another topping.

An all around perfect experience. Great dog, no frills, just what you need served by one of the kindest people we came across in our visit. He gave both our girls a piece of candy and made their day. A little off from the main areas so it was quiet as well.

Sami’s son, Osman, made us the BEST hot dogs! We learned that the stand has been in the same location for over 50 years. We hope it is there for 50 more! We ordered great all-beef hot dogs. Great selection of snacks and ice-cold drinks! We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area,

I’ve been eating Sami dogs since at least 1996. Sami is an amazing friendly man who makes great hot dogs and provides service with a smile. The hot dogs are delicious because of the spiced water he prepares them in. I usually do ketchup mustard and relish, but if I’m feeling adventurous I’ll get one with mustard and sauerkraut and the other with chili and onions. Wide variety of drinks and snacks, chips, nuts, candy, and some bananas. Reasonably priced lunch for tourist families and close the L’Enfant metro, right behind FAA HQ. Give him a try!

Sami and his Son DELIVER when it comes to quality dogs or just about anything else you may need while exploring. We ordered 2 dogs. One with chili, cheese, cooked onions and mustard. The second being the same just without the cheese. Fantastic hotdog and wonder place to grab a snack if you’re on this side of the city. Plenty of seating options in shade just across the street. You need a dog from Sami’s!!!

After a long of walking the Lincoln Memorial and Capital, it was the best place to eat some high-quality hot dogs with a homemade light chilly sauce, in a very relaxed and shaded backyard.

Nice hotdogs. The spicy one is a bit bigger and that spicy touch is just perfect. Put everything on it. Place couldn’t be better.
