Wow. Got ceviche delivered 30 minutes ago and it is so salty I cannot eat it. Very , very dissapointed.

Good eating, Great Peruvian food on South Beach. The dish I had is called Pescado Tropical. Rice with veggies, shrimp and cream sauce on top of fried Bass fish, skinless baked potato, With side of tomatoes, orange slice, pineapple, and a cherry on top of lettuce. Because of the covid restrictions the service was slow but well worth the wait for hot fresh food.

Delicious ceviche and great service!

It was OK. The chicken was a lemon chicken which I probably wouldn’t ordered. I do like lemon chicken, but it was OK. It was kind of dry and we didn’t really particular like it but you know it’s just it just wasn’t our thing that day not saying it was terrible.

The ceviche is delicious, the place is very nice and the waitresses are all very attentive.

Food was delicious. The 3 of us asked for same steak.

Our server, Elizabeth, was amazing! She was very helpful as it was my family’s first time trying Peruvian food. The food itself was delicious and the fish was cooked to perfection. I would recommend the ceviche and the Peacado al Chalan! The atmosphere was warm and the rest of the staff were sweet as well. Overall a must try in South Beach!

Adoro ir al Chalán, pienso que el amante de la comida peruana, no se puede perder ir a este restaurante, muy sencillo, pero comer allí es salir satisfecho, cualquier plato que coma, desde un pescado a lo macho, un chupe, una jalea, en fin, todos los platos son deliciosos y muy buena atención, el personal muy cortés y respetuoso. Lo recomiendo y no se arrepentirán de ir. Es un lugar ideal para almorzar o cenar en familia .

I called late afternoon. Waitress convinced me to try their signature dish (soltado) and not the boring steak sandwich. Fantastic. If that's Chilean food I'm a convert. Great passion fruit mimosa too with a chilean beer on a hot afternoon...for a Brit in Miami!

I’m a local and noticed this corner restaurant near Lincoln road for years wondering why it was constantly busy. Finally, I stopped in for dinner and found out why.. the staff is great, our server was sweet, kind, efficient and helpful. The lomo saltado was delicious, fries were nice and fresh. My bf ordered the tacu tacu: a thick beans and rice pancake, that was so flavorful, idk how I’ve gone this long without trying it! Also, got the red sangria that was delicious. Definitely returning soon :)

The concierge at the hotel I stayed in recommended this place and OMG…. Amazing!! My husband had the breaded steak with fries and he enjoyed it very much. My daughter had the lomo salteado and wow! I had the pescado con camarones a la ajillo y was amazing! All three off us left feeling great after meal. The waiter (forgot his name) was attentive and provided great customer service. It was our first time eating Peruvian food and now I want more… so much flavor! Did I mention I loved the food?!?!?!?

Food was great. The ceviche and papa a la huancaina were amazing. The chicharrón de calamar was just ok. But my server was trying to trick me into tipping a certain amount. I didn’t like being pressured like this.

The food was delicious, the portion sizes were massive. Our waitress Elizabeth was incredibly kind and extremely patient— we asked so many questions and she described the menu perfectly. I highly recommend the tacu tacu! Downside: they have a temporary A/C unit, and the place still felt hot.

After more than a year as a regular customer, I have to say they keep getting better and better. They really nailed both the mussels and ceviche today. I have grown quite fond of this place - having learned what it is best to order. To my taste, stick to the ceviches and the other fresh dishes. The cooked-seafood-in-sauce dishes are not always very fresh-tasting, and the sauces unnecessarily heavy. And I would love to see them up their game in terms of the wines available. But the service is always very friendly and attentive, and prices reasonable by Miami Beach standards, so this is an unusually good option in South Beach. Highly recommended.

Wow! What a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress (Elizabeth) was exceptional she carefully explained the menu and based on her recommendation I had a fantastic meal! Although, I have never tried Chilean cuisine before ….I honestly felt like I was a member of the Chilean community. I ordered a spaghetti dish with flap steak and it tasted so good 😊 I will definitely try her other recommendations on my next visit.

The place was full all the time I was there and people were waiting for a table to free up which speaks a lot for a restaurant even though it was late in the evening. Food is freshly prepared on the spot and very tasty.

Quality, value, and yummiest!!! Small place but great service. We had the Seafood fried rice and the seafood mountain was to die for. The Cuatro Leches was great, I had to come back twice to have it again. Will definitely come here again next time I have a Miami trip.

Excellent restaurant that’s also a welcome break from the over-touristy and salesy scene in the heart of South Beach. We shared the mixed seafood ceviche done three ways, spicy, and we couldn’t pick a favorite. The fish was excellent, the flavors were distinct and delicious, and the spice level was just right. We saw many other dishes that all looked amazing. We’d love to go back and support this place and sample the rest of the menu. Highly recommend!

Every time we come from Orlando, this is our spot! My husband loves their parihuela, but also their chaufa is delicious! Honestly very nice food. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Amazing and affordable meal in South Beach. The flavors of the ceviche were deep and multifaceted, a real explosion of flavor. It alone was enough to be a meal for one person. The grilled fish platter was easily enough for two people and the flavors were, again, amazing.

Absolutely fantastic. The service is so wonderful, smiles all around and super attentive. The food is varied, flavorful, and always feels fresh :)

Medicare ceviche. There are better and cheaper places elsewhere. This restaurant is definitely a tourist trap.

This is a great spot for dinner. It’s tucked away from the busy miami crowds, a good place for a calm bite to eat. I had the shrimp and fish garlic stew that came with rice. The portion was great for the price. And tried the soursop guanabana smoothie, it was light and refreshing. I’d be back to try their dessert menu, I was too full but it looked like great options.

Great Peruvian seafood place - i come here with the family every year when we are visiting South Beach. Terrific food - always order the fried seafood plate and deepfried calamari. Reasonable prices, friendly service.

The food is very delicious and tastes good, but we had a bad experience. The tip is supposed to be voluntary, it should not even be charged on the bill or the waiter set a fee. When we made the payment the tip of $20.00 in cash was given to the waitress, and the waitress told us “NO” that we had to leave her 18% of the bill as a tip. I don't know if I'm wrong, but no restaurant has to make it an obligation to pay 18% for the service, one leaves the tip depending on the service provided. He even told us that because we were close to the beach and Miami Beach the minimum tip we could leave was 18%. He insisted and did not accept the $20.00 until we told him that was what we were going to leave him because his comment bothered us. The truth is that it ruined our afternoon, we were very happy because the food was very delicious, but that bothered us because we were visiting, and we didn't think that was very appropriate.

A nice casual restaurant, I feel like this is a “normal people” restaurant that you can come anytime and just be yourself, unlike much of South Beach. It’s not fancy and that’s actually a relief haha. I came for the whole fried snapper as I adore whole fried fish, it’s ENORMOUS! The photo doesn’t really capture the scale. I think this is best shared between 2-3 people (along with an extra side or perhaps an appetizer). I was by myself and it was way too much!! To be honest my snapper was a bit overcooked, but hey mistakes happen. My server was super sweet, I would absolutely come back, just with friends to help me eat :) I’ve heard they have great ceviche so want to try that next time.

The place has a correct correlation between price/product. The service is welcoming, Mrs. Merly served us extraordinarily and with great warmth. The ceviche was fresh and spicy as I requested. I definitely recommend the fish ceviche if you go to South Beach, Oh and the lomo saltado was good too.

I have been to this place more than once during my stay in Miami Beach. The food is exquisite, the staff is very attentive and they explain the dishes correctly. One point to say is that in the gratuity to leave the tip it starts from 18% onwards and not 10% like in other places, and I think this option should be there too. Otherwise I have loved having been to dinner at Chalan twice.

We were a large party but very impressed with how well we were looked after by the friendly staff. We were not quite sure what to expect but the food was all delicious. A great variety of dishes that catered for everyone’s taste. An excellent find!

This is such a lovely find - close to our hotel on the corner of 16th and Washington Ave in South Beach - We had lush Steak flash fried with onions and tomatoes, and fries n white rice - shared the bowl as it was just a quick bite - was simple but absolutely gorgeous, seasoned to perfection! It was also gluten free which was perfect for me as I am coeliac xx Total came to $30 with 2 cokes!! Fab value

This place was excellent and as delicious as the food I had in Lima. There was a review from someone who ate here “for real food that was actually healthy” and was “disappointed”, to which I saw she didn’t order much healthy from the menu (fried fish instead of ceviche lol?). Do not come here for healthy food. Come here to taste authentic Peruvian food with incredible flavors, helpful staff, and a casual atmosphere. The food may take a while to come out, but it’s worth the wait! I recommend the lomo saltado and ceviche trị-color in a variety of seafood mix. Would definitely return!

Service ok , food mmm , the place not beautiful but ok . Please I know is not easy to get the ingredients from out country but at least try , Peruvian food is so hard to make, that’s why we are so picky, I’m sorry .

Great place, price, service, and food. We ordered pescado sudado mixto a bit soupy, pescado con mariscos less soupy, fish soup was the best fish soup we tried, and grilled octopus which came cut up in sauce and potatoes was a nice dish as well. Came out a bit pricey though all dishes were seafood, fairly large dishes which leftover for tomorrow lunch. Tips are not included, refreshing to see that in Miami Beach, but they deserve every penny for the good service.

Chalon on the beach (which is really just a block away from it) is fantastic. The prices may be a tad high, but the food tastes incredible, and the portions are large. Staff is incredibly welcoming, too.

We were looking for something a bit "different", and Chalan delivered! A cozy atmosphere, very friendly servers, and very tasty food. Not being Peruvian, I can't comment on the authenticity, but we enjoyed the Fried Fish Chunks (rates way better than it sounds), and the Lomo Saltado.

Seems to have lost a step on the Lomo Saltado. The meat was largely tough and not much juice/gravy.

Carlos had so much rizz and was such an amazing server.. it's made the food so delicious. food was so fly.. the most wild was we had this caramel dessert that tasted like those caramels used to eat as a kid and pull out of the plastic but yet it was putting totally stupendous.
