First time eating here I’m from az wanted some good breakfast this place was amazing.food was fresh and yummy.i got the Greene chilaquiles they were so good I would definitely be coming back while I visit in town.

One of the best places I have eaten. Affordable and delicious. Green Chilli cheese burger didn't disappoint, buddy had carne asada quesadilla. Hand made fries fried and seasoned. Washed it down with a fanta....will be back there is so much more to try. Green Chilli salsa was also amazing. All major credit cards and Gpay.

My wife and I enjoyed it very much, you will just need to try their food and compare for yourself. 5* for me

I love this please especially the red burritos they are bomb and sometimes they come out super hot but they are delicious they are super friendly and love to make their customers day highly recommend this place for burritos and for their other plates of food

We are from Indiana and come out to LC a few times a year. We LOVE this place. The food is great, the prices are very reasonable, and the the brothers who run it are really nice. Best kept secret in Las Cruces!

Enchiladas tasted like were made with powdered Chile, only item so far that I didn't like. Gorditas are Top notch! Especially recommend the al pastor, super flavor. The burgers are tasty and my partner really enjoyed the shrimp burger. It's becoming one of our favorite places, a little treasure for quality food. They are always friendly as well.

I'm going back.. for sure! Burrito was the best I've had in a long time! Wanna try the burgers now. I go here regularly now & always take my out of town friends. The burgers are AMAZING & the FF are just like my Mom's were!! Mushroom/swiss burger.. soooo good!!! Their burritos are delish!! I got the red pork burrito the other day.. as the saying goes; To die for!!! Their coffee is good too, soo a big plus for me!! Everything is yummmm

Do not be fooled be the exterior! Some of the best burgers ever! Food is 6 stars, appearance 3, staff a 5. Small eating area but clean. We generally have the smothered fries as appetizer. A little ackward for handicapped access. Tables with chairs but entrance is awkward ( no automatic door, narrow door, not sure about ramp)

I will not be coming back here nor would I recommend eating here. The table was dirty and sticky. The floor was sticky. Nothing here was good starting with the stale chips and flavorless green salsa. To drink I ordered horchata. I've never had such bad horchata ever! I wanted tacos but didn't trust the shells to be crunchy since the chips weren't. So I ordered a breakfast skillet with chorizo. It was basically French fries sprinkled with some old chorizo, cheese, and two eggs. The French fries were not cooked all of the way through and some were very crunchy. I asked for a side of red chile to see if that would help get it down. Nope. The red chile isn't strained very well at all and greasy. The food is very overpriced too, definitely not worth the old food you will get here. Nothing tasted fresh.

The food and service are both wonderful. The atmosphere is underwhelming yet clean and tidy. I will eat here again and again. If it is delicious food and welcoming service that are most important, then this is your place.

I don’t normally bother to add another 5 star review to a restaurant that has nothing but 5 star reviews. But wow!! Stopped here passing through town on a road trip with 9 family members. Don’t judge this place by location and appearance. Food and service were fantastic!

One of the best places in Cruces to get a huge, fresh-tasting burger at a really great price. Seasoned well, cooked well, solidly toasted bun. I personally recommend the chile relleno burger.

Ordered a lunch combo (2 cheese enchiladas, beef taco, split portion of red sauced pork with green sauced pork, rice & beans) near closing, my dinner guest got the Gordita platter (3 different meat on 3 large slider sized pieces of Mexican bread). Both of us are more than happy to return to try the burgers that the cooks revommeded. I was confused with menu description of combo platter, fearing 2 plain cheese enchiladas yet was pleased to find the spiced and sauced pork in abundance on the plate to the side of the enchiladas. Taco was ground beef/lettuce/tomato/ and I think cheese Apologies, welded it down so fast forgot to look or get pictures. The homemade chips were good and fresh, not salted, the same as green sauce, which we added a quick sprinkle of salt to which i feel helped. The Gorditas looked great, my guest was pleased and well versed in cultural food, and full after eating 2-saving the third for lunch. Considering the complexity of my combo platter, I feel the service was fast. Very polite and responsive employees. Dinner/tip was $15 and well worth it.

My son and I typically go through the drive thru for burritos before work/school and it’s always quick and delicious . The couple of times I’ve dined in, it has been delicious and their prices are affordable. The huevos rancheros with green chile are my fave! Friendly atmosphere and clean!

My favorite spot for lunch. My boyfriend ordered the Mex Burger and I the lamb burger and it was delicious. We love coming here and the customer service is great. I definitely recommend this place!

Been a customer for a few years. Glad they are still going strong! Love the variety of different burgers, not just the plain old ordinary menu. My favorite is the queso fundido burger. Every time I've visited, the gentlemen that run the place are always happy to serve and quick with your order. Definitely worth a try!

Very friendly and excellent, tasty food. The tacos a la parilla (chicken and carne asada) and the ground beef taco were so tasty and good. The parilla tacos had both grilled and raw onions. The ground beef taco was so tasty - provably the best I’ve ever had!

This little A frame hut has delicious Mexican food. Service was quick, pleasant & attentive. I had a bacon and green chile quesadilla which was so good I'm still tasting it in my dreams. I've had a green chile cheeseburger there in the past which was one of the best in town. Seating space is limited, but they also have takeout and a drive through window.

I am an Aggies alumni and this is a must visit breakfast place when I am in LC. Good, hot, tasty breakfast and nicely welcoming people.

Two brothers own this place. The food was wonderful and Juan made sure we were taken care of! Where else can you go and get warm fresh chips and salsa with your coffee while you wait on breakfast!?

Ever since Santa Fe Grill has been excised out of the circle k stores, El Jacalito has stepped in. Their burritos are phenomenal and their service is excellent. Consider visiting them often.

Love their pork chile verde burritos. And their prices are great too. Not much ambiance but I go to El Jacalito to eat great affordable food, not to be seen.

After this super enjoyable encounter, I shall return soon.

As others have stated don't let the building deter you.. This is up there at the top of some of the best tex/mex I've ever had... The chili hatch burger is absolutely phenomenal as well as the chili relleno!!!! Excellent'e 👌

The location is small but the food quality is amazing. They have the best fries that I have tried, and I go to fast food places. Their serving dishes a huge so your guaranteed to be full. Will order again!

Great food. It is a little smokey inside, as others noted, they could use a new vent hood. The burger was very good, but the relleno was amazing. Best relleno in town. Red chile pork was also very tasty.

Excellent, personal service providing incredible food. The Chile Relleno was crispy on the outside, cooked through,melty cheese blend inside with an excellent balance of chile and cheese.

Best gorditas and burritos in Las Cruces. The man who takes orders and works the window is so kind. Do yourself a favor and load up on green sauce, that stuff is liquid gold.

We eat here almost once a week. The mushroom, Swiss burger is so good. Always cooked fresh to order. Highly recommend. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. Place is very clean, and roomy. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Ate there this morning at 10:30am. While the exterior is a little offputting(an old fast food place), Once inside you find a clean little restaurant with a friendly attentive owner. After ordering you can hear and smell the cooking food while eating chips and salsa. Within 5 minutes our food was done and delivered: beef fajita plate for my wife and tacos al pastor for me. Everything was high quality and nicely presented. The owner came by to see how everything was. While my wife loved the fajitas, the al pastor tacos had some interesting tastes for me. I probably won't order them again, but we'll definitely come back, as we want to try several other dishes. This was a Great experience and we're glad we found it!

Tried the taco salad in crispy flour tortilla shell. Yummy.

Siguiendo en busca de los mejores chiles rellenos de Las Cruces NM, me encontré este lugar, te recibe. Con un estupendo servicio al cliente. Me decidí por el plato de chiles rellenos y un té de esta región. Me sirvieron chips and salsa de muy buen sabor. Estos chiles rellenos son echos de una manera un poco diferente a lo radiaciones ya qué los enpanizan y eso les da un crunch super agradable. La comida estuvo muy buena, un sazón como el de los carpinteros (osea que le dieron en el clavo) hasta el té me sorprendió por tan buen sabor. Lo único que si tienen que trabajar un poquito más es en que el humo invadió un poco el area de las mesas, quizas si pusieran un mejor extractor y así el humo no molestara a los comensales. Un muy buen lugar para comer unos chiles rellenos👍

Omg!! We were traveling through Las Cruces and decided to stop here because of the reviews and MAN!! The food was amazing!! I got the green chili burger with their handcut fries and my husband got the combination platter. We would give this 10 stars if we could! The flavors are incredible! Make sure to buy some of their homemade salsa! Staff was super friendly and restaurant was very clean. We will always stop here if ever in the area!!

This was the only restaurant I ate at during a whole week in Cruces. It was fabulous. The red chile pork burrito was to die for, and so were the chiles rellenos, made to order. So fresh, and the owners are so nice and serious about their food. If you're in Cruces, you HAVE to eat at this little restaurant. It look a little sketchy, as it's in a converted fast food place, but have no fear! This could be the best NewMex cuisine you've ever eaten!

Looked for a place where locals go and raved about the food. Found it here!! Read all the reviews first and headed that way. Pretty accurate description as to the establishment. No fancy atmosphere, former fast food drive in but excellent NewMex Food if you want authentic, super flavorful and best use of green chilies ever. I judge a place on their Chile Rellenos and these were off the hook. Perfect cheese stuffing, perfect light batter deep fried and perfect jalapeño tomatillo green sauce. Great service and smokin hot Green Chile Pork Burrito for my man, just the way he likes it. No wimps here if you love New Mexico Green Chilies. They’re the best anywhere and this little hidden gem does them proud.

Came here craving some Mexican food but on suggestion of all the reviews ended up ordering the green chile burger. Sweet lord, have mercy, easily one the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life - never would’ve imagined I’d have it at a Mexican food place. Tasty, juicy, just flat out finger-licking delicious. Worth the drive from El Paso. 👌🏼 🤤

ordered combo plate...it was average...nothing stood out as very good ...beef was DRY,,,beans and rice average...chips were like a bagged chip, salsa was decent...Tea was like water...overall NOT that great...should of stuck with my ol' favorite, Si Senor...so much better and about same price...live and learn

Best Mexican food I had here in USA.

This is one of my new favorites. I pulled in looking to support local for lunch and was surprised with a well prepared carne asada burrito (so good I had to about it).The burrito was very flavorful and didn't leave evidence all over my shirt. I was not looking for a dripping, over stuffed burrito but a quality over quantity. I loved it so much I took my wife the next day. They also serve burgers. I know I know how can you mess up a burger or burrito, trust me you can. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Don't miss out keep it local and give them a try. The owner seems to work hard to make sure you get his best. If you like tea try the road runner black tea (peach mango) mmmmmmmm.

Don't blink if you're driving by, you might miss it, esp. if you're looking for the building and not the huge sign by the road.Lol, but anyway, once inside you'll find the owner Juan a very nice and hospitable restauranteur. The food is simply delicious and well cooked to bring out the sumptuous taste. They have a drive thru or you can dine inside the small but still roomy dinning area. Highly recommend.

Ignore the unimpressive building as you will be glad you did. The counter clerk was friendly and polite but the star is the truly delicious food. I had the huevos rancheros with green sauce and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce is spicy which I love but keep the heat in mind if you don't.
