The food is AMAZING!! It's always a great place to eat prices seemed to have gone up some since I remeber also quantity seems a bit lower then it use to be ( I could order what I always do and we bring half home, now maybe a bit of a plate is left) BUT we'll worth the money!!

I hate to even give this place a 1 star. Our server was terrible. Took our order and sat down in the booth to eat right beside us. Food was awful. Guacamole tasted like straight up fish. Something was bad wrong. Couldn’t get a refill sat there cotton mouth the entire meal. My husband chocked on the water down spicy ketchup salsa. Worst experience. Will NOT BE BACK!

All the food we received had NO flavor, all the food was dry. Do not recommend this place.

I prefer the rice and beans and steak tacos at this location but other than that I wouldn’t eat at this particular location. The owners at this location are money hungry and have family trouble.

I order food frequently here for lunch one day I ordered cheese dip and chips and it was over eight dollars! How is it that I can order a meal for this price and get free salsa and chips this needs to be fixed!!

Love this place and the staff and owner Carlos Espino are awesome ! They remember you and treat you like friends instead of a customer. Carlos takes time to visit with customers and even gave everyone a Happy New Year shot on New Years Eve ! Great atmosphere and food

They Never get the order correct when getting a meal to go. They always leave something out or don’t have someone in the kitchen with enough of a brain to do the correct order and they don’t have someone double check the order before giving it to the customer. Food is bland and has NO taste. If you want good Mexican food, go to San Marcos and don’t waste your time no money at ElNorte.

Food was ok but not what I'd call good Mexican Food. The salsa was bland and I didn't care for the chips. The tamale, enchilada and burrito all had the exact same ground beef inside. No flavor.

It's a great place for having drinks with my friends. The frozen margaritas are large and delicious.

Always fast and friendly service. It’s a popular lunch spot, but not overcrowded and a great place for families with small children to go for dinner.

Phone in orders are almost impossible, due to staff rarely answering. Take out wait times are much higher than average. (Usually 20-30 minutes for single orders) Staff speaks limited English, but after all, it is a Mexican restaurant, so no biggie. Small, but nice porch out front, and pleasant atmosphere indoors. My order has always been right, and the food delicious. Very reasonably priced. I can’t imagine why anyone wanting mexican food would go to Taco Bell and spend 4 times the price for mystery meat, when El Norte offers real authentic mexican cuisine for a fraction of the cost. One of my favorite restaurants.

Food was not fresh , it was sloppy and greasy. I ordered extra chips and salsa and paid for extra, I received a half bag of chips and a very small cup of salsa total. The tomato in the salsa tasted expired . The cheese dip was cold and I guess I was supposed to use the half bag of chips for it too? I really feel like I wasted my money. My whole family was disappointed. We will not be back. The counter service was rude and short

Food was decent, but they simply cannot handle the amount of customers their establishment gets. Food took a long time to come out and didn’t come out all at once. Would not recommend, especially if it’s a place you’re stopping at on a trip.

We enjoyed ordering on our way through town picking up and carrying to our destination. Customer service was excellent! The order was perfect. Portions were good. Food was delicious. Looks like a very popular spot. We will stop here again.

Tacos were ok, hot wings and steak were good. Service was bad. I had to literally go find some one to give us drink refills and they never refilled our chip bowl. The regular soda drinks are high as well, almost $3 for a coke or sprite etc.

Delicious food!!! We arrived about 7:45 pm and we were seated quickly. We ordered guac and chips. Their red sauce was yummy!!! I ordered 1 beef, crispy taco, beans, and rice- delicious! My husband ate the taco salad with rice- he ate all of it!!!!

The food here is very flavorful and authentic! We stopped for a quick bite while on a road trip! The service was very quick, efficient and considerate! We had the steak el norte which was awesome and the chicken and steak fajitas!! Definitely a must try!!!

My wife and I decided to stop here on a whim and upon first walking up to the front door we were struck by how well they were taking care of their flowers out front. this seemed like a good indicator that they actually cared about the place and their business. The inside is very clean and you can tell that they do, in fact, care about the place. All of the food was way more delicious than I was expecting, and I asked if they had Mexican style tacos because I did not see them on the menu. The waiter recommended that I try the al pastor tacos with the corn tortillas and pineapple. I am sooooooo glad he did. They were incredibly good and the salsa verde was probably the best that I've ever had. Service was top-notch. The waiter always appeared when we needed him but did not seem to be hovering over us the whole time. In summary, yes, I highly recommend this place!

I have been eating here for many years, to the point our hostess will sit us at the same table if its available and our waiter almost always just double checks if we want the usual and brings it out to us! My friends and I love the atmosphere here, and eat here frequently. The food is fantastic, and so is the service of all the staff. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in meridian!

Great tasting quality Mexican food.

First time going to this Mexican restaurant waiters were good but cheese dip was warm and chunky and it was over priced at $5 but my enchiladas were ok loved the beer salt served around the rim of my cold beer mug with the lime.
