Best Mexican food in the area! Been eating here for years!

I have never had such a sickening experience from a restaurant. Much less one that has such high reviews. Both my fiancee and I came down with food poisoning, one of us being sick with in an hour of leaving, only having eaten 1 taco and rice

Lots of options. Great food and drinks. All for Carmelo as your waiter. He might let you hit his strawberry kiwi vape.

Good portion sizes and choices.

The food is alright, and the service was good. But I must know, why is it so dang loud in this place? This is a headache with indigestion waiting to be brewed.

I ordered fajitas and the thing was full of beef tougher than shoe leather. And this was the second dish of it - the server blew his top when they served it to me with shrimp which I didn't know it came with and I asked to change it. Never going there again ever.

Hands down our fav restaurant in Meridian! It’s nice and clean with great atmosphere. Your order comes out so fast! The food is awesome, best chips & salsa ever had. But what really makes it great is its people. After being regulars for years, we moved away two years ago but stopped by recently and they were so happy to see us! Havi, the mgr, is the best as well as our waitress, sorry I can’t remember her name. They treat us like family and we highly recommend them.

First time going and will be my last.The food was not bad but was not good..the Chimichanga Cheesecake was disgusting! I paid almost $7.00 but didnt finish after one bite. Except for the dessert the prices seems average. I'm a big customer service person and there customer service was not good. They didnt engage with us nor did they smile...The place was; clean, neat & nicely decorated. What was interesting is that Even though the place had a lot of patrons..we heard no laughter from none of the families. which in my opinion says a lot! The parking lot was tight as well.

Has some of the best Mexican food & prices in town. Friendly atmosphere with quick service. One of my favorite places in Meridian. First visit 20 yrs & food still fantastic! Everything’s good. Hard to say one thing is better than the other

The atmosphere and food make it easy to see why this restaurant has been in business for years! The dining room is sunny and pleasant, and they have an outside patio with fans. I recommend the chicken chimichanga with rice and guacamole salad. My brother-in-law had beef fajitas which did not disappoint. For dessert, don't miss the sopapillas!

Taco salad was too soupy and there wasn’t enough lettuce. Extra lettuce was then upcharged. Water cup had brown stains.

Seriously the BEST restaurant horchata I've ever had -- it is rich, sweet, and absolutely delicious. Mixed fajitas and huevos rancheros were fantastic as well. The guacamole that came with the fajitas was fresh and delicious. One drawback I noticed: the corn tortillas seemed microwaved rather than stove-heated (makes a huge difference in texture). In all, great food, friendly staff, and a good atmosphere.

My partner and I were on the way home from Florida vacation and we stopped for dinner here.  We both ordered the tacos. I originally said before eating; these tacos smelled funny. I should have listen to my instinct because four hours after leaving, we started violently puking. We got severe food poisoning from this place. This location needs be shut down. Never eat here!!! I will be calling the Mississippi Stare Department of health for giving us this food born illness.

Fast friendly service and they are happy to accommodate special requests. Margaritas are great!

Very delicious food with American flavor 😋

Great Food. Place was clean as well as the restrooms. Our server was very attentive. Prices were economical. I will definitely be eating here again. I was able to relax and enjoy my food. No loud music or loud TV's.

Amazing food, they have white cheese it’s so good I had the lunch special #22 grilled chicken on rice with melted cheese it was amazing and the poeple are so tentative and nice great atmosphere if u want just a nice quiet dinner or intimate conversation dinner. The also had AMAZING horchata🥰🥰

Food is very bland, no flavor at all. One of the worst Mexican dining experiences I've ever had. Very disappointing save your money!!!

OMG, the tamales here are the most terrible tamales. Told them and they told me they get them from Sam's. WTH??? Didn't offer a discount for not eating them, but yet they asked , "how was my food". Never again!!!!!!!

I was really looking forward to seeing the beautiful, hand-carved chairs, but they had been replaced with some generic chairs. That was the only disappointing thing about our visit, though! The chips/salsa were very good! Also, the Pollo Loco Dish was delicious! The service was phenomenal.

I had the Primo Special for lunch. It was delicious. The chips and salsa were great as well (the sign of a great Mexican restaurant ). The restaurant was clean and appealing. My Alex was great and even sent me with a soda to go when he brought my bill. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

I mean, DAMN! That was some good food. Fiesta Fajita and spicy salsa won’t disappoint.

We stopped here while we are in town for an event and the food was good & the service was fast! We all got the pollo loco and we all really enjoyed it!!

Listen the food was good here, but I realized they have roaches. And not the normal kind that just creep in the infestation kind. No matter how the food taste I don’t want to eat roach particles. I have a picture just not sure why it’s not giving me the option to post it. Roach was on the ground near the kitchen in the hallway.

5 STARS all the way around! Best restaurant in Meridian! Pollo Loco (#45) is the best thing on the menu! They make me feel like family every time I go in. Always have food out in a timely manner. Friendly staff and excellent food.

Again I've always wanted to tell you how amazing your Enchiladas, Fajitas, and chips are. I think you're a really nice place and I just can't thank you guys enough for what you do for the place. As I'm always a fan of the way you have it all set up and with everything going on you know what the whole coronavirus and flu and stuff that's nice and to come in there and knowing that you guys keep it so clean and that you wipe everything down and have sanitizer everywhere and make sure everybody's keeping their hands washed and everything else. It's a part of life now and unfortunately and that's how much I love you guys's place and just the atmosphere the way it's spread out and you don't have so many people close together and you just have everything looking nice and if I could work there I would as much as I'd love that y'all's place in the way it's done and that you keep it so clean with everything going on. Anyway I wanted to give you a big five review because as much as I've always loved your Enchiladas and your salsa and everything else that you prepare and truthfully I think I would give you guys more than a five on as I think your burgers are the best I've ever eaten in life have a faithful stress-free day and I look forward to coming back again having different enchiladas. Love La Piñata!! Go for their Pollo Loco all the time. It's best with tons of veggies+ chicken. I just usually forget to mention the veggies. Don't assume...

We arrived fairly late for dinner while staying nearby. We were just passing thru on our way to a vacation destination. We waited a long time for a server. Finally flagged someone down and asked to order. Food came quickly and was plentiful and tasty. Restaurant was a bit of a mess from an obvious long day of business. They appeared to need help to get things caught up.

Anyone giving this place a good rating should really get out more often. This place is gross. Everything in there was dirty, the floor, the seats, the tables, the silverware, the menus, everything was dirty. The customer service was terrible. The hostess sat in a chair and did not even greet us. we had to ask for a table. The waiter was short and not polite at all and had no manners. The food was so ba that two of the guys didn't even eat their food, and I barely ate any of mine. I would recommend you never eat here.

This is My go-to mexican restaurant whether I'm celebrating or just grabbing lunch. Love havin the option to call ahead for Togo orders. Easy peasy

I’m not exactly sure why this restaurant has a 4.4-star review, because it is definitely 5.5-level in my honest opinion. The food is always exactly as ordered on the menu. The food is always hot upon delivery to the table. The facility is always clean. The staff are family-oriented, probably because they have families of their own and understand. They’re patient and don’t get flustered with alterations in orders. We’ve ate when they were busy and didn’t have to wait long for our food. In fact, the staff act as a team, pitching in to help each other and making sure customers are attended to promptly. I would have to say that Miguel is my favorite waiter, but then I’ve interacted with him and his brother during my visits there for years. Nonetheless, I must compliment the entire staff, including the ladies and gentlemen who seat patrons on arrival and leave chips and salsa while you look over their extensive menu. As a lifelong Meridian resident who has patronized every Hispanic/Mexican restaurant in town, I must say this restaurant is by far the best. Whether you do dine-in or carry-out, I highly recommend. They’re also fantastic for groups and parties.

Usually, food is good here, but my meal was a little lacking I seasoning and only had 4 shrimp in the whole dish.

We were sat quickly, Our waitress Was very quick on coming to our table for our drinks, It was as much time as we needed to make our order, The food came out hot ready and very good, Service was amazing they took really good care of this while we were there, It is very authentic vibe, I hide the recommended restaurant as one of the best Mexican restaurants here in Meridian. The price is very reasonable and you get your money's worth.

I have been here since I was a kid and didn't matter who was working they always were nice and food amazing. Best margaritas in the state in my opinion! Been to multiple places in Mississippi and I would drive here just to have a margarita because they seem to be the only place in Mississippi that can make one that actually tastes good! My family have always loved this place! They are awesome!

I love what they do on Tuesday buy one entree get the second one free 3 p.m. till 9 p.m. great food and a great owner they've been around for a long time and on that entre Tuesday special you have to eat their cannot get it to go

Awesome Mexican food,most of the servers are great. The one we had tonight was fantastic. We have had him before and was just as professional. The food overall is fantastic. Recently went for my daughter's birthday and it was a great time.

Service was great!!! The food HAD NO seasoning!!! The salsa was disgusting!!!! It had WAY TO MUCH ketchup in it!!! I will NOT be back! I have had better food in a lunch room cafeteria!

I LOVE the staff!! I LOVE the food!! They recently updated the furniture and it's beautiful, but the original furniture was authentic and so beautiful 😍! I just hope the new owners take care of it.

( chicken) fajita quesadilla was great! Service was great!. Our waiter I believe his name was Ronalde was excellent. He even brought out a couple samples so we would know exactly what we were ordering.. the house was packed and everything still seems to run very smooth..

Absolutely fantastic for Taco Tuesday

This was the worst Mexican food and waitress I’ve ever had. The food had no seasoning and was not presented as the menu described. It was a giant waste of money.

We’ve been visiting this restaurant for nearly 30 years. I still miss the small building and the original owners. In 30 plus years they’ve never disappointed and never gotten an order wrong. The food is great, friendly staff and very clean. The food is great snd it’s the same every single time.

This place has been a staple in Meridian for years. I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager. Mostly typical Mexican restaurant fanfare offered at reasonable prices. Fast service usually every time we visit.

I am a regular at La Pinata and this is my favorite Mexican Restaurant. The reasons are as follows: 1. The food is delicious. Those chicken nachos never disappoint!!! 2. Your order is brought to you in less than 20 mins. 3. The price that I pay is always reasonable. 4. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting. Try it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

Busy place but delicious veggie fajitas!

We thought this was great! We stopped on our road trip. Generous portions, good flavor, crunchy chips, and very friendly wait staff. I'm not sure about the negative reviews. It was your basic yummy Mexican.

Very nice lunch for me and my daughter and granddaughter the waiters were very friendly we had no problems at all.

I must differ from many of the reviews on this site. My husband and I went for dinner tonight (Saturday) and the place was very busy. We were seated immediately and received chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty thin, but with an OK taste. We asked for spicier salsa and it was VERY spicy. Then it got s l o w. They finally took our drink order after about 20 minutes and almost immediately, our food order. We both get a 12 ounce basic margarita on the rocks and it was quite weak. After the ice melted, the remaining half of the drink was like water. I had the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and they were very good. The best part of the entire meal. The beans were so thin that I could not eat them with a fork and the rice was passable, but pretty bland. My husband ordered beef enchiladas and a side order of three beef tacos. The beef was almost pulverized (similar to our cat's canned pate cat food) and had almost no taste. The waitstaff was very busy and accommodating and would get anything you asked for, but you had to be proactive and ask for everything - napkins, water, to go box, check. The portions were adequate and prices fair. We had no idea who our waiter was so had to flag down anyone passing by. I think they try really hard to have a nice restaurant, but the food was just not to our liking.

We love going to LaPinatas. Food is always good and waiters are friendly. My only complaint is the salsa. It is to tomato tasting for us. Ask for the really hot sauce. It is wonderful

A typical Mexican restaurant. My no-meat meal was good if heavy on the re-fried beans. My wife was unimpressed with her nacho meal.
