Nice Puerto Rican food. They're empanadas are the bomb. I try to have a different one every time I of there. They have a great lunch special.

I love this place great food and affordable pricing . We do take out or eat there and always satisfied . Don’t forget to get dessert next door too

Absolutely phenomenal empanadas fantastic selection and varieties available and hot sauce does not mess around! Highest possible recommendation! Favorite variety is the eggplant parm and Cuban! Enjoy :-)

This Puerto Rican spot is worth the stop! The set up is interesting, one owner, two separate eateries… on one side they have sandwiches and the other side you can buy full meals … you can bring food from one storefront to the next … so we took advantage of having Cuban sandwiches, empanadas and rice in beans … a little bit of everything to try!! Yummy 😋 The service is amazing and so authentic… love it Come and enjoy !!

This place is the bomb. We discovered it last year when visiting from Seattle. My daughter, who lives in NY, takes her out of town guests (and me) there when they fly into Newark. The pernil is so tasty. The maduros y tostones are heavenly. It's a small place that packs a lot of lunch.

Great place for a quick and delicious lunch. It's pretty much fast casual, but the taste and quality is that of a home cooked meal. All whole ingredients, cooked from scratch and fresh. Highly recommend.

Look no further than a visit to this establishment, as the star attraction is their daily assortment of baked empanadas, such as beef stew empanadas, Cuban sandwich empanadas, etc. Tucked in a corner off of Market Street in Clifton, Empanada Spanish Grill is a family-owned business much like a visit to the island of Puerto Rico, with its artwork lining the walls preparing one for exactly how delicious the food will be. I paid them a visit as a first-timer for lunch today, with heavy foot traffic for takeout orders and dining in.The menu isn’t extensive, but the variety of choices features authentic Puerto Rican cuisine such as freshly cooked pernil, barbecue pollo, oxtail, and much more. As an appetizer, I decided on their Cuban sandwich empanada. It was soft and chewy—not crispy-fried but a tad salty. For the main meal, I opted for their special: a plate of beef stew (carne guisado) with white rice and black beans. The food was incredible, as everything was made fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced. The owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly. I can recommend this place.

Cute little family-run spot, with great empanadas and home-style cooking. I usually get the special - a plate of meat like pernil (pork), beef stew, or BBQ-sauced goodness, with rice and beans - you can mix and match from what they have that day. You get a lot of food for the money. Also a great selection of Latin American sodas and homemade hot sauces. Plus the family that runs it are delightful folks.

My sister and I had the empanadas needed more cooking and flavor. However, the young lady who served us was so awesome.

First time here, tried the beef, hamburger and pepperoni and the spicy chicken empanada. The beef tasted like hamburger surprisingly, the hamburger was an interesting combo but in a good way and the spicy chicken was SPICY! All were a bit soft and chewy, not crispy fried. The three and a can of soda cost $12.36.

I haven't had coffee this good since my Dad would make when I was growing up. The empanadas and other delicious pastries and things are just wonderful. I walked in and felt like I was walking into my parents kitchen. Love .....love it

I was looking for lunch and came across this restaurant. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and went to the counter. They had food made on display and I went with the chicken stew and 2 chicken empanadas. One of them had mole sauce! I paid and left. The first thing I ate was the chicken and mole sauce empanada, and that was ok. The plain chicken one was much better! The chicken stew dish was pretty good and very filling. I enjoyed my overall experience.

Finally, a Puerto Rican restaurant to rave about. Came here on a whim with my mom and grandmother around 6 pm (they close at 7 pm). They lady at the counter, Chachi, attended us and was super nice. We told her it was our first time... she did explain that since they were closing, certain items were not going to be available, such as fried sides as they were cleaning the fryer. Not a problem! They typically have different items each day. However, what they do have daily is peril(shredded pork), chicken, rice, and habichuelas (red or black beans). My mom and I had the Pernil with white rice and Habichuelas Rojas. We cleaned up our plates! It's as if I were back on the island. The taste was amazing. My grandmother had the chicken Empanadas and their baked chicken. She loved it. We will be back. My mom was so happy we found this gem! Thank you for keeping the taste authentic! You would think they know how to do empanadas right since it’s in the store name. Sorry guys, but the empanadas tasted so lack luster that I felt cheated enough to make a review…. Tasted worse than what you would get at the freezer store aisle. You should learn to make good food and value your customers.

Love their empanadas! My only complaint is that I wish that they would list what flavors are available each day. Sometimes i go and there are flavors that i cannot eat. It would be nice to list them on one of your social media pages daily.

I mainly go for the empanadas but they do serve other food mainly in a buffet style Maybe four or five selections of meat rice and assorted sides. The variety of empanadas are vast and very delicious I like this place over most because they bake the empanadas. Another bonus with this location is the owner makes custom hot sauce if you can get your hands on a bottle before they're empty it is delicious.

Empanada Spanish Grill catered our company Holiday Party. The staff was so accommodating and easy to work with. The food arrived exactly at the agreed upon time. The food was outstanding, authentic Spanish food. Everyone raved about the taste and quality of it. We will definitely be calling Empanada Spanish Grill for future events. You have not had an empanada until you have their famous cheeseburger empanada! Absolutely delicious!

Empanadas were cold, burnt and old. I was told to come back in 7 mins and they will make them lighter for me. I go back and I get the same burnt ones. Threw them out. Will not be going back. Paid almost 8 bucks!

Love this place! My Brothers and I frequent this business often. Great food, deserts, and atmosphere to just sit and chill. You can even play dominos 😁

I order a ham and cheese sandwich it’s was plain literally just the ham and the cheese. Has Puerto Ricans I thought that it’s was gonna come with mayo ketchup , lettuce and all of that and the shake was ok not real strawberry but it was good ( the service 👏👏 good)

A nice place for lunch, although due to Covid you can just pick up the food and can't eat inside. However, the Cafe next door bongs to the same owners , so you could eat there.

2 Nice clean restaurants. 1 for sweets and coffee and the other for Empenada’s and daily specials. Friendly staff. Beautiful Puerto Rican ambiance

Don’t know about all these reviews but I’m Dominican and know my food. I ordered online for delivery and pernil was terrible not even fresh looked like it was cooked since morning. I won’t be ordering here anymore sorry

A great place for consistently good BAKED empanadas. I would make this a go to spot for a quick bite although their hours can sometimes be a bit weird. I have come to this place and it was closed at a time you would expect it would be open such as in the middle of the day.

I found it a little pricey for a simple lunch meal.

Great food and great people. I arrived as they were closing so kitchen was closed but instead of just turning me away, the lady who I believe is the owner, gave me a bunch of epanadas that were not sold, for free. This shows that they make fresh food daily and do not sell leftovers. This explains why their food is great. I am not endorsing them because I recieved something for free but simply because their food tastes good.

I'm wondering if a lot of the 5 star reviews of this place are paid. 🤔 Hmm. Have been here a couple times. Empanadas just do not taste right and my dad who is fully Boricua did not care for the food. It's a shame too since I have been looking for a good puerto rican restaurant in the area.

Best baked empanadas! Order the "Husband" empanada for a taste sensation. Or, our family favorite, the "Chesseburger" empanada. The service is friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable.

Don’t know what all the hype is about. It’s OK. I’m Puerto Rican decent so I really don’t taste the Caribbean flavors. It’s really missing a lot spices. All I taste is salt in the food and no garlic. The beans were very bland and the rice did not taste like we make at home. The pernil was bland and no garlic. The beans were dry and not how we make it. I’m very curious about the cook. If he really is a Boricua because I don’t taste it in the food. Baked empanadas is not the real deal, when you want to eat an empanada it has to be fried. I’m sorry that’s just how we Boricua eat it. Baked is too dry. Like I said it’s Ok for when you’re hungry and need something quick.

Everything is just beyond amazing. I’m Puerto Rican and Dominican. Raised in Puerto Rico moved here young. It’s literally rare to find authentic Puerto Rican food anywhere that’s actually good! This place is one of those rare places that you HAVE to visit. You will not be disappointed!!

Our first time there, we came about 5:30 , the place was well decorated and the food was on point

Our dinner was delicious. They have a wide variety of empanadas (as you might expect). Each of us was able to find something to our liking. The beef stew, the roasted chicken and the chorizo dinners with rice and beans made for a delightful dinner, and the price was reasonable.

Lunch is a treat in this unassuming oasis. Baked empanadas, freshly cooked pernil, bbq pollo, oxtail, and so much more. Great service ,excellent people. especially great food baked empanadas not deep fried like my mother did in Spain. Excellent innovative creative combinations such as beef stew empanadas, Cuban sandwich empanadas, not to mention their Gourmet dessert ,cream cheese and Nutella empanadas, your imagination can only stop at the creation possibilities here, you must check it out. Very clesn ,affordable indoor seating available plus other rice and beans and meat specials.

I absolutely love the food here but the customer service is outstanding.... I was suppose to pick up food once there and my order wasn’t large and unfortunately I made it there after they where suppose to be already closed but they actually waited for me and you would think they would be upset but no they where sooooooooo nice about it! I love them and go regularly and never have had a bad tasting meal. May God continue to bless them.

Really good!, the establishment was clean, Empanadas were on point. The cheese burger Empanadas can get messy, watch that first bite. The "Killer Chicken" Empanadas are 6-7 outta 10 on the spicy scale. Spicy and flavorful.

Empanadas here are the bomb. They rotate different flavors depending on the day of week. You can pretty much always get white or yellow rice with chicken and beans. Sometimes pork, bbq pork, beef or chicken stew, and on rare occasions they have Ropa Vieja. Always good!

We've been coming to this location ever since they opened a few years ago. This is one of those restaurants that sometimes we make a plan to go to and others when we can't decide where to eat we just come here knowing we'll get a great empanadas! Service here is always friendly and with regular selection delicious empanadas and always a new flavor to try out it's a place you have to keep coming back to to get a great meal. The location is but seems to be plenty of space to eat. You can either take a nap and Otis to go or eat on location, and if you do it's a great atmosphere inside. Beverages range from the big soda companies to the smaller companies that are more authentic that I recommend trying. For instance the Champagne Cola is delicious!

We have been there a few times with the family, the first time we love the food and the empanada but our last time the food had no flavor to it and the empanada was not the same. I think now it a hit or miss with the food. We really liked the place. I don't know now.

So my boss took me here to eat. It was nothing out of this world when it comes to the food. Solid but nothing amazing. What I truly enjoyed were the empanadas. They have taken a unique spin and definitely experiment. And I have to say I enjoyed. Keep up the great work
