Food & service were absolutely phenomenal! I love loud music but my fiance & 2 daughters said it was too loud to carry on a discussion & I have to agree. We ate inside though & were able to chat normal.

If sitting by a beautiful river eating fresh caught seafood old school Florida style, then this it. We listened to the cook!

Slightly run down, old style waterfront bar. Food was good and more than just bar food. Great service.

I took my family for a weekend dinner and we were from outta town but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL !!!!They brought me a bill for $453.00 and when I payed with my card it ended up being $585.00 they added extra fees for using my card and them added a gratuity and I spoke to a so called manager and they told me it was because I payed with a credit card but if I had payed with cash it would of only been the $453.00 we waited about 20 minutes to get a refill on drinks and one of the kids meal we got was burnt and the kid couldn't even eat it but all they worried about was the extra money that they just screwed me out of even though we had 12 people they should of let us know about all the extra charges they added when I payed with a card the service and so called management sucked will never go there again even when we come back for our vacation this was a first time and only time we will ever go there

We were looking for a place to eat in the Carrabelle area around 930pm, and happened by Fathoms. Very nice little place to stop. Very fast and friendly service. The blackened grouper sandwich on Texas Toast was excellent!!! It was absolutely full of flavor, no condiments needed what so ever. The potato salad was outstanding as well. We also enjoyed the mullet dip that's been made the same there for, apparently, at least 45 years!! Anyway, so glad to have stopped by, will be back on future trips to the area!!! Oh, did I mention the outstanding fast and extremely friendly service!! Must visit!!!

High prices with really small portions. Limited menu. Dinners were mostly twenty dollar range.

Food was really good. Points off for no draft beer. The Greek tacos both shrimp and chicken were delicious.

Food was great as it always is .Just can never get good service at your table.I don't care if there's 5 people in the restaurant or 30 it's slow to keep a drink full.But if your not in a hurry and have plenty of time the food I'd good! And I'll be back.

Found this place on our way back home and we're so surprised how good the food was! The Blackened grouper sandwich on Texas toast was fantastic and so fresh tasting! The Tuna sandwich was awesome as well! Great view and atmosphere outside looking at the water and boats.

We visit Fathoms often. The food is always great, and the tuna is the best I've ever eaten. The service is fast and the atmosphere is casual. Today. However, we had a strange experience. When we recognized a waitress who had helped us at an earlier visit and noticed that she was pregnant, my husband called her to the table to give her a generous tip, "for the baby." She looked absolutely horrified. Then she plucked the money from his hand and stalked away disgusted, without so much as a smile. We do things like that because both our daughters were waitresses when they were younger, and we know how hard it is to raise a family on a waitress's salary. To say we were stunned puts it mildly! 🙄

This place looks interesting from the outside but the waitress was Sour unlike my whiskey sour which was just Whiskey on the rocks waitress with short with my kids I ordered a blackened grouper sandwich and I can only assume the kitchen was out of blackening seasoning due to the fact that it was pan seared with a dash of pepper my wife ordered a pina colada which was coconut rum add pineapple juice this place does not have a fryer best thing I had there was the raw oysters the worst part about it is it was over $70 for two drinks and two entrees I've eaten the day before add another small restaurant about 10 minutes away essentially got the same meal but only paid $48 and it tasted at least three times is good wouldn't recommend even if my car broke down in their parking lot to go here

It was just the two of us. It took over an hour to get our food. After that they never came back to see if it was ok. My burger was charred and the grits were cold. After about another 30 minutes I had to go find someone to let them know to take it off our ticket. My friend had the seafood platter and said it was good. We were never asked if we needed refills on our drinks. Then we couldn't get anyone to give us the bill. At that point we were ready to walk out but we waited and finally got the bill. I would say that it is the worst service that I have ever had.

My wife loves trying out new restaurants. So while driving back home in upper Florida. She saw this place. So she checked out their reviews and asked about how hungry are we? Sure we can stop. We did and it reminded me of old motorcycle bars I use to hang out at. Food was good and the atmosphere was fantastic. Looking out to the dockside and just a beautiful day too. She got the Shrimp Tacos. I got the Grouper Sandwich. Both very tasty and enjoyable.

I don't know where to apart. The food was npt good at all. I ordered steamed oysters and the came out on a deviled eggs tray and not on the shell. They charge u 6 dollars to keep them in the shell. If that's where they were. The crab legs were over cooked. The bartender was nice and attentive. I am nit impressed at all.

Avoid this place. 20 miles from Appalachicola and they are serving tasteless oysters (probably VA farm raised). Yuck! Beer selection is bottle only and pretty limited. They also tack on a $3 service charge for credit card paymentWTF? Servers were disinterested. Life is too short to waste time on a place like this.

Fathoms is a cool spot in Carrabelle to grab some local seafood and relax in a laid back space. There is seating inside and outside. Sometimes local bands will play music on the stage. We had a large group and had great service.

This is a sailors/boating bar, owned by locals. The live music is great every night. The food is fantastic.

Server was not nice at all. Crab legs were $15 a pound, and they brought me 1 claw with only 4 legs on it, and they were so overcooked that I couldn't get the meat out. I know they didn't weigh a pound! All the other places we ate while down there were awesome. This place wasn't worth $108.00 by no means. I ordered a lemon drop martini, and it was straight-up water. I didn't even drink it. I would not go there unless you are going for the bar by the water. Will never go back.

Seated immediately, beers and drinks quick, ordered and maybe 5 minutes for was delivered! Hot, fresh, and right. Good country music and open porch next to bar... enjoyed it very much. Grouper for him and shrimp for me with veggies and come slaw. Perfect.

The overall vibe and atmosphere of this restaurant was okay, besides the volume level being a bit too high and there being too many dogs in, which I believe there should be a limit of how many can be allowed in. The "live music" was pretty much non-existent and lackluster with the musician playing a bit for 2 mins and disappearing each time. I hope they can fix the animal limit here along with getting a more consistent live music setup for the future patrons here so they can get a worthwhile experience.

Agree on the oysters. Ordered 1/2 dozen and had to get another 1/2 dozen. Met some great regulars at the bar. Food was fresh and reasonably priced.

Food, service and atmosphere where all good. Went to pay the bill and got hit with a $3 fee because I was using my debit card. Something that should be mention alot sooner than at check out time. I will go back when the CC fee is either lowered or not there

Fathoms is a decent spot to grab lunch or dinner in Carrabelle. It definitely has a country-bar atmosphere, but if you're there on the weekend when they have live music, it's always enjoyable.

So we went here for dinner on March 30th 2024. The food was soooo good! So we decided to go back yesterday April 4th. My husband and I got the same thing as March 30th. The food was not like the first time we went. We were very disappointed. I give this a 5 bc the first time we went was excellent. Yesterday when we went we found out it was not the same cook. Highly recommend they keep the original cook on!!

We came from Michigan and this was the highlight of foods we've had since arriving. We tried the chicken buffalo dip which had a perfect blend of cheese, chicken and very slight spice. After that we tried the Oyster Sample which came with a dozen of baked and topped different oysters. They were so fresh, melted in your mouth and steaming hot! Lastly we split the Ahi tuna tacos. Each taco was LOADED with fresh Ahi tuna, they were incredible. The staff was friendly, warm, and inviting. The drinks were wonderful also. We will be back! With love, Michigan

Great place to eat, drink, dance or just listen to music. It is by the water and great views of sunset. Has live bands, open mic night. Enjoy!

Hours need updated or the place is closed. Thursday February 1st, 2024, the place was a ghost town.

Live band was good, food was decent. Waitress was great and running her butt off! Had tables inside and outside for whatever reason. Service was great food needed more seasoning. Even my son said his grilled grouper was dull. Raw oysters were good but a few were really small.

I love mom and pop restaurants where they treat you like family and cook like they want you to come back.

######This place is a BIKER bar and it's ROUGH! Don't expect to get metal silverware or a GLASS for your beer...those things become weapons if a bar fight breaks out. Metal silver ware is needed to cut your chewy microwaved seafood....see the pictured for the ONLY thing that we ordered before we escaped that place. Yuck don't eat here.

Fun little seafood and drinks shack in the waterfront. No thrills or grills...no fried. Just good blackened grouper and scallops. Fun bands... great place for viewing the locals.

This is a great stop if you're bar hoping on 98. The food is grilled only, (no fryer) but I recommend sticking to the beer. Live music at night is a plus.

Quintessential raw bar on the waterfront. It's a regular hangout for locals off-season and gets busy with tourist clientele at times. They usually have blues, classic, and southern rock style live entertainment.

Waterfront Oyster and Raw Bar with the coldest freshest oysters on the Florida Gulf Coast. Local friendly vibe place, bikers, fisherman, tourist or two. Great low key day time hangout. Awesome bands in the evening. Friendly on top of it Bar Staff. Plenty of parking.

Open air restaurant and bar located on the water.

As others have mentioned, basically a bar with a kitchen. Not bad for a cold beer and a snack while you watch a ball game. Smoking allowed was a minus for me but the bar is open air so not overwhelming.

Came to Carrabelle for a weekend stay and to get to know the area. Great food! Great music! Loved the atmosphere. Ate there Friday night and Saturday lunch. We'll be back!

The server was very nice, friendly, attentive. I had my dog with us and we sat outside. We were the only customers in our area. I had the burger with potato salad. I asked before ordering if the potato salad was homemade, good? She said "yes". I don't think it was and did not care for it at all. My friend had the raw oysters on the half shell. I didn't hear any complaints on the oysters but the crackers were stale and waitress brought a new pack. We stopped in late afternoon and nothing was going on but music equipment was set up outside and I'm sure its hopping at night when the band plays.

I looked at buying a house there. To live in this town. Honestly I was put off by this place. I expected a friendly small town atmosphere, not what I found. A very depressed little place with no real attraction any more. Angry locals who seem to be there waiting to die. Shame, i bet it was great place years ago. This restaurant was the straw that broke the camels back. Not rude, just angry.

Totally enjoyed our Saturday night with great food and attentive service, the Billy Rigsby band was truly awesome! Crowd was a mixture of local and out of townies, lots of good people having a good time.

Wayyyyy too much Old Bay seasoning was used on both the clams & the crab legs.

Food was acceptable except we ordered extra sides. The approx 2 tablespoons of potato salad that was $4.00. We know prices have gone up, but if I hadn't been so taken by surprise at how small the serving was, I would have refused it. Also the server was sort of snarky when we paid in cash and she asked it we wanted change back. Again, if I had reacted quicker I would have said yes, and left her nothing.

Food and drinks were just okay. Shrimp and okra gumbo was tasty but barely warm with a big ball of rice in the middle. Drinks were a little weak. There is a surcharge for using a credit card but no mention or sign posted indicating this. Would have changed it to cash to save a few bucks but couldn’t get the server to come back and got tired of waiting. Sigh…

The food was perfectly made and was amazing. The staff was thorough and kind. They made you feel welcomed. Great sea side open air atmosphere. Live music... often. It's a must try.

Great service! Delicious food! Fresh, crisp salad with tasty tuna. The decor is funky, old Florida style. Will definitely be back on our frequent visits to the area.

A little expensive for the amount of food

Nice area, maybe good drinks but food was expensive and poor quality. We were hungry so we ate it. I wish I read the previous reviews. Service was pleasant, bar was full with what appeared to be locals having drinks and conversations.

A quaint little seafood restaurant with the most friendly staff and delicious oysters! Grouper tacos were tasty as well.

Went for anniversary dinner on the 4th of July. Shared the seafood sampler ($50). Portions small, grouper and shrimp was pretty tasteless, the few scallops were small and undistinguished, oysters dry, and one small piece of snow crab. The corn side (1/2 corn) had the texture of corn that had been cooked for hours. Won't be returning. Good band though.

Disappointed by the poor service in this waterfront bar and restaurant. The place is a classic old waterfront dive bar, half full of locals, but the waitress at the outside bar was disorganized and disappeared inside for long periods of time. The other 2 women working there did not assist her, and the bar waitress seemed to be more concerned with trying to do paperwork than serve her customers. When our oysters, crab, and FINALLY shrimp arrived they were all good dishes. We would have stayed longer but were getting frustrated- and dying of thrist. The other local choices were much better.

How many people y'all add gratuity to with two people with no permission? Because the bill was Alot? Cold Gorton's fisherman tuna. Just how many people have y'all got??

Automatic gratuity on a party of 4 without being told is pretty shady in my opinion. I should have noticed but with a party of 4 I didn’t. Average food but great atmosphere. Just check your bill before paying.

Great experience here all around, full bar, live band, on the water, with an interior restaurant attached! The service we received from our waitress Michelle was unmatched, her area was literally completely full and she still had time to take care of us promptly. If you love seafood you will love their steamed/grilled scallops and shrimp, the mullet dip is great if you know you know if you don't try it 😋 People can say cheese grits are just cheese grits but the truth is there is a right way and a wrong way and this place does it right! Would recommend to any seafood lover and will definitely return in order to give some of the other menu items a try. PS: we had their home made keylime pie and it was the best we ever had! Look forward to visiting again.

Marti- she was fabulous waitress. But they seriously gave our son oysters that had poop in them. It smells horrible, drinking, couldn’t enjoy the view with our family from the cigarette smoke. The food was absolutely terrible. Kitchen and cook was nasty as we decided to move inside Bc smoke was so bad. Worst place we have ever had in the last 8 years!!!!

Was told self seat. Found a spot and accidentally knocked over someone's togo food (container left open and in the way). We offered to take care of whatever we needed too. They were rude to our family and made us pay for the food bc we shouldn't be in that spot. Even though they watched us move chairs to sit there and gave us menus. Manager came out barking at my family about the knocked over food, at that point we had already bought the guys drinks. Oysters were awful and chewy. My husband got sick on the way home and threw them up. Drinks were ok. I will say the grilled grouper was amazing.

My group had a fresh grouper lunch. Some chose blackened grouper tacos, some chose grouper sandwiches. When your back porch view is the marina, you generally find great fresh fish used on the menu. We were all impressed with the fresh fish. The restaurant has a bar and a band stand, so at the right night there will be live music.

Some of the friendliest people and staff I’ve ever met anywhere in the country great food, great entertainment great band just an all-around fun spot to be at well done

Our server was very sweet and got all our changes to the meals, correct. We had a large group and food was out pretty fast. The cost was the biggest thing here, the food for the portion was pretty high. But, we were pleasantly surprised with the tastiness of all our meals. Dog friendly. We didn't have one, but there were about 5 families that each had one. Lol. Open air environment.

We were the only 2 people in the place and thought the service would be great. However, it was not at all what we expected. The waitress was amazing. We ordered shrimp and crab no seasonings, and it came with seasonings. She promptly removed the food and brought out items we could eat while waiting for a fresh batch of crabs. I should have insisted on fresh shrimp as well because I spent the middle of the night in the bathroom regretful of that decision. It's a bar that serves food and is not very good.

Look forward to visiting each time I'm in Carrabelle.

Great small town feel with open restaurant/bar. Food was outstanding, with fresh seafood!! If you happen to drive throught town it's a must go!!

Service was great, however the Grouper sandwich was missing the original "Texas Toast" and had no flavor. It was our go to spot and meal. Was, is the operative word. Very disappointing, plus new $3. Credit card charge leaves us going elsewhere.

Visiting Carrabelle for the Art Show, we decided to try a local seafood restaurant suggested by a docent at the museum. What a mistake...While the view of the waterfront is nice, the place is truly a dive bar and in need of cleaning. Our server was pleasant and prompt. The worst part? The food. We ordered the oyster sampler; what came out was steamed oysters on a platter smothered in cheese and nearly a tablespoon of oil per each selection (Rockefeller, mexican, greek, etc). Barely edible. If you are going to serve oysters with toppings, they need to be broiled in their shell; fundamentals... The fish tacos (2 for $14) were served in a stale tortilla and totally bland. At least season the fish with S&P... Then we were assaulted with a local that decided to sit next to us and smoke. We moved. The bartender smoked behind the bar during service... Lastly, upon presentation of the check, our server told us about the $3 fee for credit card use. Would be nice to have that information upon seating; we would have left, as that amount is patently ridiculous. We will never return. It's a shame, as the location is terrific and could be a landmark restaurant for Carrabelle.

Definitely more of a locals bar type than restaurant. Would have enjoyed sitting somewhere that overlooked the water, but a party of two took the large table that sat eight, so we had to squeeze in on the other side. Limited menu- took close to an hour to get our food. Shrimp was amazing! Mussels would have probably been better if they were hot, unfortunately there were room temp when we received them. Crab legs were not real meaty. At the price we paid, we were disappointed. Our server seemed irritated with our table since only one of us was drinking. So she wasn't very attentive (gave us a pitcher of water so we could serve ourselves). And our favorite part was the $3 charge since we paid with a credit card! That was definitely a shock and rounded out what we thought was a terrible experience. Next time, give the customer a heads up!

Our food was not edible! Cheap, processed food at an expensive price! If you want a cool place to drink beer and cocktails and listen to live music, this will work. Just eat before you go and save yourself the disappointment.

The atmosphere is ok, but charging $3 to swipe a credit card is a bit much, especially without notice. It always pays to be transparent with your customers.

Way too loud music wise if you go at night to eat, not a fan of the food so I don't go any longer.
