To be honest, we were very confused when we initially sat down by somewhat vague menu. Once we got the rundown and understood how the restaurant worked we were blown away!! Eating and regular restaurants is very challenging as we have a ton of food restrictions and allergies. We don’t eat oils, sugar, potatoes or pork. So the typical American breakfast is pretty much out. The chef/owner came to our table, asked if there was anything we couldn’t have and anything we specifically liked. Then they made us beautiful plates that were absolutely perfect. This place is an absolute gem!! It’s a shame we could only give five stars! 10/10!!

The menu options are so interesting! I asked for a "meaty, cheesy, and sweet" breakfast and had an amazing meal!

We arrived with a group of ten. We were told that they did not serve more than eight. We offered to split into two smaller groups and were still refused. I would actually give them zero stars. Don’t go there in a large group. Never going here again.

This was the worst meal I’ve ever had, our family was incredibly disappointed with the thrown together hodge podge of random pantry items. It was also our most expensive meal for our entire trip in Montana.

Was unsure at first, but when we got seated I felt the vibe of the place, never experienced anything like that before! The staff was amazing and made me feel at home! The food was beyond amazing! We will be back!

Totally refreshing and delightful experience! So many restaurants have basically the same menu with very little variation. This restaurant is not like that at all. Select from a menu of new and fun items or simply choose a few words to describe what you are in the mood for and get a custom meal just for you. Absolutely fabulous! Portions are perfect and you don't feel like you are falling into a food coma after eating there like at so many other restaurants. Great sausage and many other great and yummy things, too numerous to list. We purchased the chef's cookbook on the way out and found it delightful as well. It contains so much inspiration. I think it's the best cookbook I've found in a long time.

Fun and amazing place for breakfast.

The cafe was very homey, similar to an elementary art room, and had great lighting. I went with my aunt. I had a chai latte with whipped cream, the multiple taco dish, and a side grits. She got a drip coffee, fayes recommendation, and a side of grits. The chai latte was okay but I felt it could use more foam and there was too much cinnamon on top so I inhaled it coughed a while, the grits tasted like scalloped potatoes and would have been better with chives instead of onions, and the tacos could have used ricotta or a crème sauce to help counteract the dry rice. The server knew exactly what they were doing and the food deliver was very efficient. Overall pretty good! For all our food it was a flat rate of 50$.

Are you kidding?! This is the most unique, friendly, delicious….OMG place in the universe to have breakfast. The creativity starts with the staff. They are beautiful in spirit and image. The menu is next level. What you eat is designed by the words you chose on the menu. Huckleberry love with a side of meaty happiness… for instance. I wish this was more than a stopover for us. Faye’s is THE BEST place I’ve ever eaten.

Unfortunately our family of 4 had terrible meals. Two members were vegetarian and their plates were a combination of leftovers. Truly inedible The cinnamon rolls were the size of a small biscuit. So disappointing and expensive. We love the environment and our server was a delight but the meal was awful

One of the best place for breakfast and amazing service

You do have to go into this place pretty optimistic and open-minded. Concept is extremely cool and creative of a place the decor and vibe was immaculate. However, when it came to the food, it fell short for me personally. Conceptually it sets itself up to be like really good but the portions were pretty small for 20$ and the flavor combos weren’t anything crazy really in my opinion it was just kind of all mixed together, I didn’t feel like mine went together. The cinnamon roll was delicious but again very small. The staff and atmosphere was 5 stars for the food 3.5.

This place was recommended by our lovely Yellowstone tour guide. We loved the atmosphere, and the staff was friendly. The owner makes the food and was hand washing the dishes. The restaurant has a very colorful, positive, accepting vibe. The food was tasty. Mine was not hot, though. I would go back to try again as we were in a hurry. I could see myself becoming a regular if I lived there. Very cute place.

This was my second time at Faye’s Cafe with my family. I was hoping for this to be the redeeming experience after the sub par food a few years ago. However, I was left disappointed and nauseous for the 2nd time now. I respect the creativity and freedom of choice made by the chef. However, with 5 people at a table with all different requests. Every meal was made up of the same culmination of ingredients including remnants of brisket, ham, grits, undercooked rice, grainy waffles, pesto, and amaze balls that were far less than amazing. For a meal that cost us over a hundred dollars I would imagine that the chef spent no more than $25 to prepare all of this, as it all seemed to be scrap concoctions. Again I respect the creative freedom, but the food is just a hodgepodge of incompatible flavor profiles. Rob, the table magician was the only redeeming moment of our second and last time at Faye’s Cafe.

Delicious food and a memorable experience. We can’t stop talking about it. We’ll be back soon and often.

This place is super good! My husband and I came here, and the women who servers you and is maybe the owner is super friendly and has such a lovely personality! Plus the food is super good, the fruit is delicious and fresh, and the cinnamon rolls are so delicious!

This is the place for breakfast. You cannot beat it. Always an experience and sometimes even a magic show. The meals are amazing. Let Sarah do her thing and you will not be disappointed.

Wow! From the moment we walked into this place we knew it was going to be an experience. For starters, Service is wonderful! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. The atmosphere is very quaint and relaxing. With local art on the walls and antique furniture and silverware. It brings a homey feel to the place. Faye is excellent at her craft, I ordered the Faye's choice taco special and they were the best breakfast tacos I have ever had! The menu is very different from your standard ordering menu, you can mix an match ingredients or put your faith in Faye to make something unique for you. I for one have never trusted anyone so much with my food and I was not disappointed. 10/10 would recommend. We flew in from Georgia and will be making this our breakfast spot while we are here. GET THE CINNAMON ROLL!!!!! That is all ☺️

This was an unbeliveable experience. The food, the menu, the atmosphere and the people including Faye. It was unanimous that it was the best breakfast experience ever in a myriad of ways. We are in our 70's and have traveled extensively and could not wait to post this review. The good news is that our son has moved to Livingston so looking forward to our next breakfast.

Never in my life saw such a bad attitude, it really looks like the owner hate peoples lives. Somehow I still wanted to try their kitchen and I can tell that even now after 48 hours I still feel sick! Do your self a favour and thank god that you’re never been there!

Very good food and very cool concept. The menu allows you to essentially say what you want rather than necessarily picking a menu item. Only downside is that they're very busy with not much staff so expect a wait.

This is one of the coolest places I've eaten! The menu is fun and whimsical and the food was AMAZING. I had crab and avocado breakfast tacos and each one was different, which made for a fun experience! We got to meet Faye, the chef, and she was so kind and welcoming! I hope I find my way to Livingston again someday to enjoy her cooking again!

We went to Faye’s our last morning before flying home. I wish we would have gone every day. The food was awesome and the people so friendly. Faye even came up and spoke to us. The art all over the store is beautiful. I can’t wait to return.

This is a cute hippie- type place located in a former school, filled with local artwork & soul loving messages. The dishes are works of shabby chic art too! It’s upbeat & the owner, Faye is energetic & warm. The dishes are great too! If you are not sure what to order, tell her what you like & Faye will create it for you! I loved coming here. I hope others will too.

Wonderful place within a community building. Totally unexpected delights with only a suggestion of 3 varied words and the chef will create a beautifully delishous breakfast! Only the first 80 customers are serviced, then she closes!!! Go early

Absolutely wonderful little Cafe with healthy choices and a super friendly staff.. my kind of place very eclectic decor with fun little positive signs and local art and hand painted skateboards.. First time here and will not be the last.. Please stop in and say hello and tell them Shane from North Dakota sent ya.. hahaha 😁 What a fun place and located in the Shane center for the Arts 🎨.. thats why I included the photo of myself.. hahaha 😁

Most creative, delicious breakfast in Montana!!!

We stopped in for brunch on a whim and were pleasantly delighted. Best breakfast experience we've ever had. Tell Faye what you're feeling that day and she whips up an amazing one of a kind plate for you. Ask the servers what they like and you'll get some good ideas. Highly recommend the Mac and Cheese and huckleberry sauce. Rob performed some impressive magic tricks for us and even gave us a tour of the place after our breakfast! Stop by on Friday or Saturday so you can witness the tricks for yourself. We left a little gift in the form of a small duck with a Santa hat - see if you can spot it :) We will 110% be back any time we are near Livingston!

Apparently the business hours are a suggestion. We waited 30 min for it to open on a Saturday. When there were still no signs of activity we went somewhere else. It came highly recommended. Good luck getting to try it.

Second time here. A destination for dining. Food is fun and creative here. Have an open mind and just enjoy. If you want Dennys or McDonalds do t eT here. Real food by a real chef.

This is the best place! Creativity abounds- the food, the menu, including the environment. We are impressed each time we eat here when we are in Livingston.. Hubby had the salmon Benedict, I had the waffles. They were great. What’s really terrific is the team. Fay cooks the meals, serves the meals and still has time to autograph the cookbook (and we even bought Christmas gifts here-right off of our table! Beautiful hand blown juice glasses and locally made pottery mugs!). We love this place. It’s serious with attitude.

This place is magical. A true experience that will be different every time you ordered. The concept is creative. I was a bit Leary at first but decided to branch out and was so pleasantly surprised. Staff is so nice and good beyond delicious 😋

So delicious! Both of us have food allergies, one nightshade, one with celiacs. (Gluten-free) Both our eggs bennies were super yummy as was our green teas. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

What a delightful find for us as we passed through Livingston. This was the most unusual breakfast place I've ever been to - in a great way! The waitresses worked well together to help us, starting with a brief explanation about the cafe. You can let Faye decide what she'll serve you, you can set some parameters and let her be inspired within those parameters, or you can specify exactly what you want and how it is made. I got tacos Faye creates- nothing I would have thought to create- it was excellent!. My wife gave some parameters for what she wanted and loved it as well. If you are in the area, definitely find and try Faye's Cafe.

Best breakfast, EVER! My daughter (8) is very picky about breakfast and they made it a magical delight that brightened her entire day. I had the daily special which was hands down the most scrumptious breakfast I've had in years. The artful creation and loving kindness that accompanied our meal will forever make this a treasured spot.

i’ve never been to such a cool restaurant before. like WOW. the atmosphere was so warm and friendly, the staff was incredible and so knowledgeable (not just about the food but the area!), and the meal was easily one of the best foods i’ve ever had in my life. such a fun, unique concept! i’ll definitely be back.

Wasn't impressed. We went because of all the good reviews. I had the French toast, 3 halfs,and my husband had biscuits & gravy, eggs, and bacon. The French toast was rather bland. I thought it was way overpriced for what we got $36 and I drank water. Service was good and place was clean but wouldn't go back.

A very unique experience. You take a few adjectives and let the server know what you'd like and I would highly recommend letting Faye have her own spin on it. I order a spicy, meaty, savory order and let her do as she will with it and I was blown away with how delicious it was. It went above and beyond my expectations, the kombucha is also a highly recommended choice by myself and some of my coworkers. Absolutely a delight to be there.

I'm having breakfast at probably the most "Boulder, Colorado" café in Livingston. You can order your meal by mood/description (sweet, crunchy, savory, meaty, etc), or by pointing at some pictures, or simply choose one of their specials. I thought the crab and salmon tacos special sounded good, and when asked how I wanted my eggs I said, "I don't care." 🙂 It arrived topped with 2 perfectly poached eggs. While waiting for my food to arrive, I was comforted with a never-empty cup of piping hot coffee. The seafood tacos were fantastic, with just the right amount of spiciness in the 3 generously filled soft corn tortillas. A fun place for breakfast if you're ever in Livingston!

Fun fun place to eat. A different take on 'menu' dining which is really novel. Highly recommend. I got Fays choice tacos and she made 3 different ones for me, just off the 'im low carb and love all the things' and it turned out really yummy. My partner had the enchilada and he was really impressed.

What an incredible place! RTE-X-USA sent me here. I likely never would have found it on my own. I've ridden all across Canada and through a bunch of the US, but this was easily in my top 3 breakfasts I've ever had! Really cool menu, very nice hosts, and amazing food!!!

That was the most exciting breakfast I think I’ve ever had. Faye is a fun creative cook and our waitress was so fun and attentive! We had the special, which were huevos rancheros Mac and cheese tacos. PACKED with flavors and spice and everything nice!! We can’t wait to come back through and have Faye concoct another masterpiece. Thanks Ladies!!!!

Food was okay but service was the worst! First off, it was very interesting. The menu, location and restaurant concept is one of a kind. My experience, however, was not great. After being sat down and having the menu explained, we needed a few minutes to decide. I quickly found I had questions and sat there waiting for them to return. We watched as our server sat other tables, delivered their drinks, refilled coffees and took their orders. After literally 15 minutes of waiting and watching, we decided that we were going to walk out. Before we did, they came back and expressed no apologies. I asked my questions, got my answers and we ordered. It took a while to get our food but it was understandable given the size of kitchen and how many were preparing the food. The chef came out to ask me questions to understand my restrictions. That was nice. My husband's food needed salt but was overall okay. The eggs were poached nicely. My food was also okay. The poached eggs were again done nicely but the flavor profile clashed in an unpleasant way. Our waiter never returned. We went to the counter for our bill.

Every time I visit Faye's I know I will have a delicious breakfast! Each time my expectations are exceeded! Love this place!

This was a fun place to go to get the local flavor. It's casual and refreshing. We especially liked the table side magic tricks (Fridays and Saturdays) and the artwork.

Amazing cafe! The menu is a great type of different: you tell them what you are wanting (savory, meaty, citrus, etc) and Faye builds breakfast off of that. Great eggs, had the breakfast tacos, and the cinnamon roll is so tasty! Definitely recommend the hot chocolate! Also, the gummy bears in the whipped crème for the waffle was fantastic!

Amazing service which even better food!! Being able to leave up to the cook on what you get for breakfast is amazing when you’re not 100% sure what you want and it’s all delicious. Absolutely recommend if you live here or are visiting to stop by and enjoy local art and local food.

This place was AWESOME! I am diabetic, gluten intolerant, and eat plant based!. Very difficult to get a great meal. They went out of their way to accommodate and it was DELICIOUS! Awesome people and food. I was just passing through and lucked into finding this restaurant. Highly recommended.

Wow! This definitely is a hidden gem and we were so happy to have found it. The waitress was amazing, so sweet and friendly and the food was incredible! The different flavors from spicy and sweet mixed together, just blew my mind! Faye is one creative chef! This was a real treat as our last meal before heading to the airport to head home!

This is a fun and quirky place. A neat use of an old classroom. The food is as fun as the atmosphere. I don't know what I ordered exactly but the special was French Toast like I have never seen. A little bit of everything topped it. It was good food, with a fun twist on a traditional breakfast.

My husband and I ate at Faye’s on our way to the airport before our flight home. I wished we knew about this gem sooner! Our breakfast was fantastic! If you’re up for a delicious surprise, let Faye whip you up something from her creative culinary imagination- you won’t be disappointed. This is a must stop for anyone traveling to Livingston or just passing through Livingston on their way to Yellowstone.

From the Peace-Love-Happiness greetings on the walls and windows to the excellent friendly service ... Rob's magic tricks at our table and the server's clear explanation of how the menu works ... Sarah Faye coming out to greet us and make sure we had what we wanted. Especially the food! We had tweaked versions of the special. I had cheese grits with poached eggs and cranberry-fig-walnut bacon..Tim had the cranberry fig bacon eggs Benedict on sourdough toast. Sooo good. Fresh fruit. Cafe coffee. Nummm
