Can not say enough good things about this place! Service, food, aesthetic all phenomenal!!! Please don’t let the exterior, parking, access or religious beliefs dissuade you from trying their food. Yes they’re Christian’s and will maybe even talk to you about it. Yes they have bibles and scriptures engraved on the tables. It may not be for you but their food is what you’re there for. Support local!!!!!

My new favorite chicken!! Large portions, hot, fresh & juicy!! Fries were hot & crispy. Warm tortillas, Good side salad. The chicken falls off the bone, so good.

Amazing local place - great service and wonderful food. It was small, just a few tables. We were offered samples of the homemade juices and they were terrific. For food, we got the sampler platter and it was a great collection of things to try. The empanadas could’ve had more meat and less potato, but still delicious. The plantains were probably the best I ever had.

I had a recommendation to come to Five Cousins and it exceeded my expectations! The food was amazing and the service was awesome! We can't wait to go back for more.

The service was not only poor but awkward. We said we just wanted water to drink but our waitress handed out bottled waters that were going to be $2.00 each. When I declined those and asked if we could simply have tap water instead, the waitress looked at me like I had three heads. The menu was limited and for someone like myself who eats chicken but not beef/pork, etc., the only option was to order a whole, half or quarter chicken. Everything else was served with meat. We had seen photos online that gave entree options like fajitas and that was not an option. There was also no kids menu, which I recognize is not necessary but certainly makes it easier to eat out with young children. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere because the menu selections just weren’t doing it for us and the poor service was a huge turn off. The perfect 5 star rating for this establishment is just too hard to believe and made me inclined to leave our honest review.

I was looking for a viatmanise place I ate pho at once but when I walked in notice it was not the same place (why I gave 4 stars on atmosphere I was a bit confused) I ordered the chicken and shrimp combo with black beans and rice and it took me back to when I lived in Florida all of the authentic Latino places. I was very satisfied and the server was nice and attentive. I'm excited about their whole chickens and want to try the Charro beans! Yummy

When In town visiting family, we decided to visit 5 Cousins. We got the super parrtillada mixato to share for 3. The food is amazing. Hands down the best food I have had in a long time. My child (very picky) loved it and ate their full plate. Of course, we had to bring some back with us, and even reheated was amazing. Mosies was a great help to order something perfect for us. It is definitely worth trying and telling all your friends about. He and his brother Elmer were very helpful.

Where has this place been all my life? I ordered on a whim after seeing it on DoorDash. The smoked chicken is delicious. The beans, rice, plantains, potato salad and sauces are all fantastic too.

I sent a friend from out of town here and they reported back that it's the best chicken they've had in Tennessee. I used to come here with my niece and we spent many nice days at the park with takeout, losing our minds at how good the food was. Sometimes we'd drive from Oak Ridge specifically for this chicken. So glad to hear that nothing has changed, thanks for being consistently amazing.

My husband and I stopped here after searching for restaurants nearby on Google and seeing the 5 star rating lured me in. My husband isn’t crazy about trying new things so he wasn’t too excited about going but I really wanted to try it. Neither of us were disappointed. The staff were so friendly. They asked my husband if he would like to sample their juices. He did and ordered the tamarind juice. He loved it. We ordered the dish that had fries, half a chicken, sausage, pickled veggies on top and a house sauce. It was so flavorful! I love the house sauce. The chicken was so tender. I definitely want to come here again.

Delicious food. Came across this restaurant looking for another one and the same plaza that apparently closed a while ago but the sign still up. This place did not disappoint! I had the chicken and beef ribs platter ! They were both delicious , greatly season and grilled. Elmer was my server ! Great person … We even chit chatted about my country of origin , Mozambique 🇲🇿 Highly recommend this place

*Note- do NOT order from their website because the restaurant won't receive your order- call it in instead! Anyway, we found this place somewhat randomly as we were tired of the same places we visit regularly. I've had similar chicken where I'm from, which was called Port A Pit and forever ago was a restaurant called Marco Pollo when I was a kid, but it's hard to find anything similar here. But this place is very similar and so, so good! The inside of the restaurant is small but the upside to that is you get to see everything made because the grill area is very open and shares space with the dining room. We got the chicken/shrimp combo and the chicken/carne asada (steak) combo. Both came with a mini mixed salad, two sides and tortillas- which had a smoky taste that was a pleasant surprise! The meats were a little dry but still very good. The skin on the chicken is incredibly crisp and so tasty! I got the charro beans and plantains, while he got the brown rice and charros. The plantains were perfect and I was so glad I got an extra order of them! I also ordered their salsa sampler. Word of caution: I recommend them if you like really hot stuff, but stay away from ALL of the red ones if you can't tolerate more than the spice of a jalapeno! You'll definitely regret it if you dare venture away from the yellow and green sauces 😂

Just had an amazing dinner here. Carne Asada plate was just so good. All the food was so fresh. Wish I’d took a picture of the presentation. Staff was very friendly. They mentioned next time to try beef ribs and or chicken. That’s for tomorrow night. I’d give this place a 10 star review. Do yourself a favor and go try them. See you tomorrow Five Cousins.

Absolutely wonderful new Restaurant at this location. The food is amazing! Everything is made from scratch and the flavor and quality is fantastic! Chickens are roasted over hard word charcoal and the sauces are incredible. I’ve never had sauces like these anywhere. Make sure you get the yellow and green sauce both. The Entrees come with 2 sides and a small salad. Most full meals are less than $15. Seriously one of the best restaurants in the City. Go in try it and I’ll bet you’re back again in less than a week! And they have huge platters for your family to share or Togo. Chicken, pork chops, Carne Asada, Pork ribs, Beef Ribs, and more. Nothing else like it locally, definitely one of a kind!!

Wonderful fresh roasted chicken. Everything else that I saw ordered looked very fresh and tasty as well. Small place, and a little out of the way, but definitely worth the trip. The owners and staff are super nice. The flavors are latin fusion, and very well seasoned. Net time I will try their lomo salteado. A must try for good Latin cuisine.

It was my first time here and let me just say I'd return tomorrow. The service was on point. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The food was made fresh and the wait time was short. The restaurant is small but the whole experience was definitely worth it. Everything we ate had amazing flavor and hot. I highly recommend this place if you want some authentic hispanic food. Something other than Mexican.

La comida es cinco estrellas! I went to a pollo restaurant … and didn’t order pollo. That means the food could possibly be even *better* than I experienced. The Cotilla de Puerco en Salsa Verde (pork ribs in green sauce) were tender, and so good that I quickly abandoned all efforts to eat them with knife and fork and just got primal with my hands and teeth (to separate the meat from the fat). Fried plantains were delicious, but then they always are; a particular delight was that the sides of rice and of beans were *delicious*. I was only passing through Knoxville on my way to Kentucky, but I will definitely pull 5 Cousins on my favorites list if I am back this way again.

Very friendly, clean and the food was homemade and fresh. In a sea of chain restaurants, don’t miss the chance to eat this delicious S. American / Mexican. My husband had the steak and chicken combo. 5+ for chicken but the steak was chewy. I had the best shrimp in a Caribbean coconut spicy sauce! Dinner came with black or pinto beans and white or stir fried rice with veggies. Plus a fresh lettuce salad. Homemade corn tortillas fresh out of oven were thick and chewy. Like a regional mama would make. We finished everything!

First time coming here, and was not disappointed! My husband got the costilla de puerco en salsa verde, and it's sooo good and soft. The meat fell right off of the bone! I got the chicken and steak and was again wowed! We were a bit disappointed in the empanadas. They were too crispy for our liking, but we will definitely be back to try more things in the menu!!
