Exactly what I wanted in a Cantonese style Chinese food! Fast and tasty!

Really good experience, fresh food, buffet was really good. Desert was very good. Very friendly staff and service was a 10/10 would recommend this to anyone and I will definitely be coming back here

We ordered off the menu because we got there later and they were taking the buffet down due to it not being busy. HUGE portions, fresh and flavorful food, friendly and prompt service, a really great experience all around! The fried dumplings were the best i’ve ever had. Also had the orange beef, kung pow chicken, and fried rice. You know how nice it is to get fried rice that’s actually made fresh and not the same old stuff with frozen mixed vegetables? SO GOOD!! With an appetizer, a house plate, a chicken entree, a fried rice entree, a pop, and a (good) tip, our total was $85 and we have enough for at least two or three more meals for two people. Definitely our new spot for Chinese food!

We had the buffet there this last weekend not sure maybe end of buffet or if that’s just how it is every time but we did not really enjoy the selection or quality. It was an all you can you buffet but it’s very few choices to choose from. Rice and noodles were a no go for me only thing I really did like were the pork rolls they were very good! It was around $60-$65 for the three of us was not happy with buffet and things would need to improve for me to go back.

The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. It is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Fargo-West Fargo-Moorehead-Dilworth area.

Food is horrible no flavor, dry and bad quality. Employees were very rude and refused a refund for the terrible service and food. Would never go back nor recommend

We went for lunch, the staff was very kind however 2 of the 3 meals we ordered did not match the pictures on the menu and were completely different. Also the sweet and sour chicken and meat wontons were very light on the meat.

I usually do carry out. Their Beef & Broccoli is so delicious and their House Special Lo Mein is the best in town!!!

I just tried Fortune House for the 1st time tonight. I was at the UPS Store a few shops down and wanted chinese food and saw them. Googled the restaurant to see the reviews and decided to give it a try based off of some reviews. They didn't disappoint, the chicken egg foo young was amazing(1st time trying egg foo young ever) vegetable lo mein was really good, only thing that I didn't like about it was that it was made with spaghetti noodles versus udon noodles or other traditional noodles lo mein is made with but still it was very very good despite that. The egg rolls were tasty and the sweet & sour sauce was thicker then most I have experienced & very very good as well. You get a generous amount of food for your money, it was a little under $30 for my to go order & it would easily feed 3-4 people. I will definitely be a repeat customer after this, just sad I have been missing out on this place for so long being a person who was raised in the F-M area & lived in Fargo for many years, now I gotta make the hour drive to get my egg foo young fix @ Fortune House lol. Definitely recommend giving it a try to anyone who finds themselves reading this🙂

Great food and lovely kind service. They were able to cook a gluten free meal special for one of our party. It was all delicious.

The lo mein and egg foo young were highlights and their wonton soup has a more flavor than most. We'll be back.

The buffet options are very limitedl. A little pricey for what you actually get

This is not really a buffet. They have few hours they have buffet. The food wasn’t really good. I order fried rice it was so salty. Like they poured salt on it. Only the egg role and meat in the fried rice was good ! I added the menu. I won’t be going back there! Everything was more than $15. Would have had chipotle for less! Good luck

The good thing I can say is the food was ready very quick.

The place is clean, the food is OK at best, the lunch buffet is lame and unimaginative.

Fortune House has been our go-to Chinese restaurant for 2 decades, and we've always had five-star meals that are a great value. We love the staff! They are a north Fargo anchor.

This little Chinese food place is expensive but the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Worth it.

Menu says spicy and it's sweet. Horrible customer service outragois prices and lazy wait staff. Will never return.

Never knew this little gem existed until we moved to North Fargo! Portions are very large! The food was hot and quick and most of all delicious. Our new fav! Lots of leftovers yay!

Stingy with soda (partially filled, one refill--also partial). Extremely limited buffet. Flavorless sweet-and-sour sauce. I had some vegetables as an appetizer, and before I could go back for soup or chicken, they slapped a fortune cookie on my table and clearly wanted me gone. After that, the waitresses all seemed deaf and blind. Expensive. Meh. Will not return.

First when I go to pay I was surprised at the price when I made a comment about some of it she goes oh website is wrong. Second I have never found fried rice that was only stale rice. Yes I know it is made from day old white rice but it was like rice and oil only. No vegetables or anything. Third when I called in my order I asked if they could make my general tso extra spicy. Kind you I asked about 3 times to please make it too hot for me. When I get it I found it drowning in sauce that has ZERO spice. I mean the take away at hornbachers is spicier. I opened up my bag and they have me a little hot sauce to go with it. If I wanted it to be added I wouldn't have asked for it to be cooked with the spice since it leaves a different flavour. It is over priced for what you get. Save yourself the money and buy take away or frozen from the grocery store. If you want quick then go to Panda express. Even the fried rice taste better there.

Good food but misleading about the buffet.

They have a conservative number of offerings on the buffet, but they're all great. I much prefer this approach to places that offer too many things

Love the food! I just wish they would offer more options for solo diners. I'm typically in town on business, so I eat here by myself a lot. Leftovers aren't really an option in a motel room. If they offered everything like entrees and fried rice in half-orders I would probably eat there more. I really like the sesame chicken!

Best lo mein and best fried rice! Egg rolls are awesome too! Moo goo and beef with mushrooms are also a favorite.

If your looking for Chinese food with more flavor than Panda this is a good place. The house lo me in and house fried rice is great! I tried the PAO chicken i believe it's called and it was very good. They also give great portion sizes. This is my new place for good fresh Chinese food!

Good portions. Always hot. Noticed more meat in dishes last takeout order. Made us happy as felt were lacking in prior orders. Good Chinese food.

In order for me to give 5 stars to a restaurant there needs to be something that sets them above the other establishments in their genre. Fortune House is good, very good. If you are in north Fargo and hungry for Chinese cuisine I believe you will be satisfied with Fortune House. I have not tried the buffet, we ordered over the phone and did pick up. Food was fresh and hot, a nice value for the price. It was all good, just nothing above and beyond to make the food memorable.

We love their food. We picked up our food during Covid-19, and it was freshly made and tasted great! The serving size was was large, enough for 2 meals.

We just finished a great meal. It was hot and there was plenty of it. Cant wait until we have it again tomorrow night! We ordered double happiness and the seafood combination. We will definitely order again and try new things on the menu. We would encourage everyone to enjoy the fortune house.

Expensive, but worth it. Large portions deliciously prepared. Fast delivery via Door Dash. Will definitely recommend to any who ask.

Some of the food was good some bad, on the buffet, mixed different foods in the same container on the line. Miss labeled foods they were serving. Cost was comparable to other places

Small buffet but good food. We were there at a busy time so the food was fresh.... which can be a big problem for a buffet. They have good pork fried rice - which is why I go there.

Best Shrimp and vegetables I've ever had in my life. I usually eat the buffet when I go there and the food is always fresh and tastes amazing. Lo mein is awesome! When I want to get take out I order the Shrimp with vegetables and take it home to eat. Love this place!

We live an hour out of town and have a big family. We immediately felt comfortable, ordered two orders of tso's, two fried rice, two lo meins, two vegetable orders and two wontons-one right away, the rest of the order to go. The fresh wontons were out of this world and the sweet and sour sauce is second to none. Paid a pretty penny but the food is well worth it and we got so much! Love this place, staff is very pleasant and the ambiance is quiet and very comfortable.

This is my favorite Chinese buffet in town. Small selection, but I prefer quality over quantity. I wouldn't say I'm a regular, but the staff treats me as though I am one since they greet me and talk to me as if I am. I do wish the buffet were a little cheaper. I would come in much more often if it were.

It's Chinese food. Small place with a smallish buffet. Food is usually plenty fresh. No frills place and no pleasantries from the employees (they speak very little English)
