I have always loved Frontera Duluth. I grew up in Duluth since 1998 ( I was 11). My family always came here after church or on a Friday night. So fast-forward to 2024, We have moved back into the area from Hall county. We had been ordering from PePe's which is amazing by the way. I suggested Frontera because it was always top shelf. Long story short- my husbands food wasn't cooked, it was so cold in the middle. The waiter hardly had time to listen to my order, and brought me the wrong item. The worst thing though, were the chips. Wait, the WORST part was how the GM reacted -- when I informed him as he casually passed by asking if everything was good- I explained about the chips tasting off*. He made a face of disappointment/anger at me. Then while on the phone, he came by and set down another batch of chips. They were tasting just as badly as the first ones. I said, "No... nope, same." We told him it was okay, we were trying to make them aware. We had both worked in the food industry before and knew about old oil. * (that the chips tasted like the oil was smoky or dirty. I don't know how other patrons were eating them. We had to wait a long time so I watched those seated after us eat their chips for the first time. They winced but continued to eat them. ) We ate what we could. The waiter apologized for the chips and commented: "there was nothing he could do about it". We didn't complain about the other issues. We tipped the waiter 20% because he was trying. Operations seem poorly run as the usually friendly staff seemed very stressed. We waited a long time - for a big disappointment. Things just aren't made like they used to be. This review is for the manager because he didn't care, he was annoyed. Unprofessional Every customer deserves respect when they give feedback respectfully.

Yinny Was fantastic. Food was hot and delicious. Service was awesome. Came in for a quick lunch, my wife. She had tacos. I had the super speedy. It was more than enough food.

Probably my second favorite quesadilla ive ever had. And I'd consider myself a pro quesadilla eater. Try the spinach quesadilla - add steak. A bit pricey but yikes. Goodluck trying to stop eating it. You'll want to stuff the entire thing down. Also, Carlos the sever does a hell of a good job. Nice one.

My family went to Fronteras for lunch. We were very pleased with the service and the food was very good. Our server was, Monique. Monique was amazing. She was very polite and kept our drinks refilled before we even had to ask. MONIQUE ROCKS!!!

I ordered steak fajitas togo and fish tacos. But I did not receive any tortillas or sides that come with the fajita. When I called, the lady unapologetically asked “so you want tortillas? come”. This is unacceptable and I won’t be going back. I usually don’t leave reviews but I feel robbed of my time and money. Not worth it. On top of that, I received a text saying that my food was ready but there was a line of people waiting for their pick up orders. I waited 15 minutes to pick up my order. Unacceptable Answer to owner’s reply: I left the review for the wrong location but it is the one in Duluth with the issues. I don’t have the receipt because it was a phone order but I have text messages (below) to prove that I ordered from this location.

Leibis was exceptional. Very friendly and she recommended a alcoholic beverage and it was good. Food was delicious. Will be back.

This is my first time in this area As I am here for work and if I ever visit this area again, I will absolutely return to this restaurant because of Leibis and the incredible service and food I received at this restaurant.

This place is an amazing place to come eat some good food and have some good drinks they ran out of hennesey liquor and the manager gus went and got us some they all were so polite and my server Matthew was amazing also we didnt wait long for anything the service drinks and food was perfect we definitely will be back

I visited here on Memorial Day while traveling for work. Reviews and pictures looked good. Overheard the menu had changed in the last few weeks. I tried the vampiro tacos...steak tacos that decked out with lots of toppings, but the real difference is the layer of Oaxaca cheese spread between the two corn tortillas. If you've never had it Oaxaca cheese is similar to cream cheese but better, IMO. GREAT TACOS! Came with black beans that were just ok. I also had a Tamal, which was good as well. Staff was super friendly, nor very good team work. My waitress was crushing it, but there were three standing at the hostess station offer her no help. Resturant was very clean and spacious with a lot of tables inside and out. I see why they have a 4.8 review...great choice!! Highly recommend!

I recently dined at this location with a large group of friends and was shocked and disappointed by the billing practices of the establishment. Upon receiving the bill, I noticed that there was an automatic 18% service charge added for our party size, which I understood and was prepared to pay. However, to my surprise, after leaving the restaurant and checking my bank account later on, I discovered that an additional 24% tip had been added to my bill without my consent. I was absolutely floored by this unethical practice and felt completely taken advantage of. Not only did the restaurant already include a gratuity for our large party, but to add on an extra tip without notifying us beforehand is simply unacceptable. The food and service were decent, but this experience left a sour taste in my mouth and I will not be returning to this establishment. I urge other diners to be cautious when dining at this restaurant, as it seems they have a tendency to overcharge customers under the guise of service charges and tips. It's disappointing to see such dishonest practices in the hospitality industry, and I hope that this review serves as a warning to others to be vigilant when dining at this restaurant.

I really like their food! We had chicken quesadillas and beef too. But what my favorite food is, are their CHIPS AND SALSA. Specially the brown one :) and their FLAN if you want dessert.

Cristal was great. We were torn between a few of their margaritas and she gave us some good suggestions. I hope we have her again as our server!

Decided to eat here before going to a concert. It was an excellent decision, 🤤 the food was delicious. We weren't in any rush but if we were we would've been fine cause they had our food out almost too fast lol. I am genuinely not complaining but damn guys maybe give us 5 extra minutes so we can talk and finish our queso. Seriously though this place is pretty good and I liked the overall atmosphere inside, but my wife was a little creeped out by the giant masks on the wall 😂😂😂. Thanks again!

Great food and great service! We had Cristal and she was very friendly and accommodating. She also walked us through the vegetarian options which was appreciated. Also massive portions, we got 5 entrees and an app for 7 people and even that was too much food!

The older lady that was serving us forced each of us to tip her, otherwise we were not allowed to go. Definitely will not go back.

The food was excellent. We especially loved the Mojarra fried tilapia. Cristal was very attentive and made sure we had what we needed throughout the dinner.

Calm atmosphere. I arrive towards the end of lunch hour with the intent of getting a lunch special, but i opted for their new QUESABIRRIA TACOS -Traditional Jalisco style stewed beef, melted Oaxacan cheese, onions, cilantro and a side of consomé for dipping. So delicious and my server/bartender was very friendly and attentive! Above and beyond service. Very informative and provided suggestions. Clean bar and restaurant. Loved the music playing softly and the variety of music played setting the tone for the visit.

First time at a Frontera that really understands their niche, audience and chemistry of their foods! Exquisite job by the staff in taking our order, creating said order and bringing it out sizzling hot! My Birria tacos were so good I cried on my way home. To know the food is good, you must question your willingness to return; and oh boy did I return! I even broke my diet to return expeditiously. Great restaurant, great team and exceptional management! 10\10 5\5🤤

Ordered a shredded chicken quesadilla this evening (04/28/2024) to go and when I opened it (it was cut in 4s) there’s was barely any chicken in each slice… And a random red pepper in one of the slices.. Very disappointing

The Burrito Al Carbon is always fantastic. I’ve been eating this location for nearly 30 years. Our server, Leibis made the experience a 10+ out of 10!

I don't have pictures, if you go on the site there are many. But, what I'll say is this has been the BEST experience I've had EVER. The waitress was the best. I'm not Spanish, but she was my "Tia" today. I will definitely go back, come Hell or high water. I experience what it feels like to transport to the PERFECT client to customer relationship. OMG!!!! Our first time here since we don't live in the area. They made us feel at home. And the food was amazing. We couldn't eat it all, so we had a take-home container and all for about $35 before tip for 2 people. On top of that, before we could leave, our waiter brought out a dessert, on the house, because it was our first time....a Flan with whipped cream on the side and caramel drizzling. YUM!!! Go see them. When we're back in town, I know where I'm going!

I have been one of Frontera's regulars for many years. Leibis is hands down the very best server I've ever had anywhere! She makes everyone feel so welcome, even when the placed is packed. Recently I noticed she was serving 29 (I counted) customers, all with a smile for everyone! Once a month I join a group of 10-12 there and she always remembers everyone's drink and salt or no salt! I meet a friend from that group once a week during the remaining weeks and she is always absolutely wonderful! Frontera is lucky to have her!

Tablitas!! OMGGG!! They are fantastic. Bartender is from Latin America and is super friendly!! He made sure we were tended to fo' sure!! TABLITAS FOLKS!!! ITS WHATS UP!!
