My mother absolutely loves the chicken rice here and visits frequently. I tried the pho and found it to be truly delicious, with each person getting their own bottle of water. The service is very friendly and quick, despite the large number of customers.

Dining at this amazing place for my birthday, I was treated to the most delicious pho I’ve ever had. The experience made my day special.

My boyfriend and I have become frequent diners, and we’re always impressed. The food quality is phenomenal, and the prices are very reasonable. Additionally, they use bottled water instead of tap water here, which makes me feel satisfied with the cleanliness. It’s a place I recommend without hesitation!

For this being an asian place they did not know what a fried spring roll was...smh

This Vietnamese restaurant is delightful on the tastebuds. The staff is very welcoming, fun and informative of what to expect on the menu. The flavors are more from central Vietnam: The pho was delicious and all fresh. You get two types of rice noodles: fresh wider rice noodles vs thinner traditional dried rice noodles. Chicken is meat from a whole chicken. Eggrolls are crispy and slightly flaky, a nice combination of both, tantalizing and nice to the tastebuds. Of course the Vietnamese coffee was robust and good for increased serotonin levels, lol. Staff is highly accommodating and checks on you consistently to ensure you have a nice dining experience. You will get full fast, family was very happy. We will definitely return!

Visit Gạo Restaurant for the first time today. Tried their Phở Đặc biệt and was very impressed. Good soup flavor, good portion high quality meat (that don't run out before your noodles), clean/fresh side veggies. The place was clean & service was friendly & good. Highly recommend if you want some good Vietnamese Phở.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants I’ve had this year. I’m Vietnamese. I travel for work. Probably been through 15 states and always look for Vietnamese food. This is up there with Cali/Texas. This is the type of place I would fly my family in to try.

Food is amazing but had to wait over an hour for two very simple dishes. Seems to be a recurring pattern here, be warned. If you have time, you will love it. But I implore the kitchen staff to improve operations and how orders are prioritized.

Fish noodle soup + jellyfish on the day the jellyfish run out, pho, spring rolls, avocado smoothies are all delicious, spacious shop space, ample parking!

The food wait time was so long, in my case is 1 hour, not worth the wait. I had chicken leg with rice and the leg was so big and not juicy at all. Total waste time

I don't really write many reviews on restaurants but i must say Gao surprised me as a California boy who grew up on Viet food. My go to in any Vietnamese restaurant is always Bun Bo Hue if they have it. This restaurant definitely delivered with a refreshing taste of the lemongrass and the depth of flavor that was not artificial. This was the closest to what i found to be similar to the ones i find in California. this is by far the best Bun Bo Hue in the area. I have tried many even from those who are locals that have recommended places but none of them come as close to this one. All the meats that were meant to be in it were there including the blood cake and the pork knuckles. They even gave me a side of the fermented shrimp paste for my tasting but it really didn't need it (I typically have to ask for this at other places due to lack of depth of flavor). My only critique of this dish is the spice level. I'm used to having it spicy and there is chili on the table but its not the same as being cooked into the broth. 9/10 Other Dishes: Goi (Salad)- The herbs and ingredients were great. It was surprising to sea the clear sea bean in there which added a great texture. Everything was great and harmonious in flavor. My one critique on this dish would be the over dressing of the salad. They give you a side of the dipping sauce (which is amazing) but the salad itself could've been slightly less dressed. 9/10 Cha gio ( Egg Rolls)- pretty standard egg roll, filled with lots of meat but the flavor was under seasoned. dipping sauce was standard nuoc cham. 7/10 Canh Ga Chien Nuoc Mam (Fish sauce wings)- I've had plenty of these in the area but this was definitely a different take on it. The wings seemed battered then fried then tossed in the sauce. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side and the sauté with the onions and peppers seemed unnecessary. I believe this would benefit more for just a basic unbattered fried wing and a more fish sauce forward sauce that is a bit thinner. 6/10 Com Tam Thit Nuong (BBQ pork with broken rice) - One of the only places in the Tampa area that i have seen actually serve broken rice. This is a must because the texture definitely changes the dish to something better. The meat was grilled to perfection, great char and great marinade for it. The sauce was definitely a bonus. simple but great. 9/10 Cafe Sua da (Vietnamese coffee with salted foam)- Now this is the real deal drip coffee. If you have grown up with Vietnamese coffee this is that authentic taste. The dark intense fruity bitterness of the coffee and the sweet salted foam made it a customizable drink throughout your experience. You could have it as dark as you want or as light as you want as you mixed in the foam so the flavor can go from ice coffee light cream no sugar to a salted caramel macchiato flavor pending how you want to mix it. 10/10 Service- was impeccable. The servers were great at greeting and even instructed us how to eat certain dishes and recommended certain sauces to go with certain dishes. Appreciated their enthusiasm. Overall the experience was amazing and the people were on point with service. I highly recommend folks stopping by this restaurant and checking them out. Next time I will be trying their Mi Quang and Banh Canh.

First time eating here and we were so happy with everything. The pho was delicious, broth was very rich. The vermicelli noodles were also very tasty. The service was phenomenal and the staff was very nice and accommodating. Whoever made the Vietnamese coffee did a great job! It was the perfect amount of strong and sweet.

According to my wife, this is the only place in Tampa that manages to recreate the authentic flavors of rice plates and the accompanying sauce. Seriously. The sauce is bombastic. I haven't tried the rest of the menu yet but the rice plates are enough to bring me back.

They have very good fish sauce that does not go salty when i put in a lot of it, strong coffee, courteous service. One of the best service amongst the Vietnamese restaurants around. Came back today and Pho is great, good consistency im regular here from now on

I've never try something as good and as "Vietnam" as their food in America, Fresh noodles for Pho was spot on and broth is less sweet than other places, definitely can tell they really focus on the beef stock instead of using powder seasoning like those around the area, truly worth my money $13 for a bowl. They also have fish cake Vermicelli which as a central Vietnamese I love it, closest one i could find is in Houston. I would recommend other to come here and try it.

We visited Tampa for a family vacation and found this restaurant. The foods were very good. Their Chicken Feet and Fish sauce chicken wings are excellent. Their Bun Ca and banh canh was excellent. What is most impressive is the service, the two young men that were serving us were friendly, helpful and polite. Highly recommend this place if you are in Tampa.

I went and they didn't even serve me, there is no trained staff there in that restaurant.

The pho lacked depth of flavor, very bland. I did enjoy my spring rolls and egg rolls. The place is clean and the service is very good. I'll go back to try other dishes minus the pho.

Had 4 Shrimp fresh rolls without the pork. 3-4 hours after eating, I had the worst stomach pain that lasted approx 10 mins. I have a pretty strong gut. Anyway I guess it was a bad batch. Update: The restaurant asked me to call a number to report and get compensation. Thank you for offering but what I spent isn’t substantial enough. I’m not sure why my stomach hurt but I respect your open approach to address the issue. Perhaps I will try a different dish next time to see.

I'm a regular here, and their broth is so constant; they even have Pho Noodles that look exactly like they do in Vietnam. There are also plenty of parking spaces. This place provides the best Vietnamese food experience I've ever experienced outside of Vietnam. From the greeting to the explanation of soup stock to the suggestion of condiments everytime, I felt as if I were in Vietnam. I'm in love with their sauce now that I know Vietnamese people have more than just siracha and chili oil, wonderful! I wish the business the best of luck and I am sure it will be crowded as more people become acquainted with it. Keep going, you are far superior than other establishments. The service is excellent and the new owners have added a few new items and menu you have to try the Vietnamese coffee it is extremely strong and taste great something could really use to give your evening a little kick or get your get you through the afternoon. The pho is excellent and all the meat is tasty. They also serve traditional bam-boo-hay which is a Vietnamese dish which is amazing. Also recommend the summer rolls You won't be disappointed here.
