I brought my family from El Paso Tx, the one in town was closed years ago. Now we travel to the Las Cruces location and I must say.... Having only one server, one cook and not being able to serve alcohol due to back taxes not being paid is by far one of worst experiences to date. This restaurant used to be highly on our list but no more. On a lighter note Tyler our server is truly amazing,, attentive, friendly and courteous, i really pray and hope he and the other employees are being compensated correctly for holding the restaurant down. P.S the Jambalaya is Jambalying, dry and no taste. Please some other company save the employees and offer better employment opportunities.

I really enjoy coming here. It always has this subtle feel and excellent food and service. I 10/10 recommend.

rice was to hard, steak was burnt took 2 hours to get our food, yes there was 10 of us they could’ve cooked it right at least.

This was once one of my favorite restaurants. Over time it has deteriorated significantly. Today's visit will be our last. The server was attentive and apologetic. One of our family didn't have any base (cabbage) in her bowl, server had to take it to show it to the manager and only then did they fix it. Another person in our party didn't get her meal at all and we had to ask for it. All of our bowls had ingredients mixed from different orders, for example my bowl had broccoli which I didn't put in there and was missing crab which was in someone else's. Throughout the time we were there the server was attentive and apologizing. We never saw a manager the entire time. It's really a shame that such a nice restaurant has become this

This place has gone way downhill. It's run down and dirty. The service is terrible. They took the noodles off as a base, no toppings, no chopsticks and they are out of beer.

I rarely, if ever, give businesses negative reviews. Negative reviews can negatively impact a business and I don't think it would be appropriate to give a business a negative review based on one poor experience. However, my experience with Genghis Grill and Lucky Cat Poke Co. was so abysmal that I would be doing everyone a disservice if I didn't share my thoughts. Some context before I start my review: Genghis Grill and Lucky Cat Poke Co. are both entities that operate from the Genghis Grill building/location. It seems as though Lucky Cat Poke Co. strictly does delivery orders through the Lucky Cat Poke Co. website. The only way you would know that Lucky Cat Poke Co. operated at the Genghis Grill location is if you searched for locations on Lucky Cat Poke Co.'s website. I purchased a delivery order from Lucky Cat Poke Co. through their website at 12:15 PM and I received a confirmation email telling me that my order is expected to arrive at around 12:44 PM. At 12:31 PM, I received a text message from an Uber driver informing me that they can't find the location of the restaurant. I find it strange that a delivery restaurant would rely on Uber Eats to deliver their orders, but I digress. I gave the Uber driver the address of the restaurant, but they still had some trouble locating it. This is when I learned that Genghis Grill and Lucky Cat Poke Co. share the same address. This was only problematic because nowhere on the building does it say that Lucky Cat Poke Co. operates there. So the Uber Driver was going around in circles looking for a Lucky Cat Poke Co. building when no such building exists. We're already off to a bad start. At 12:36 PM, the Uber driver notifies me that they are waiting for my order. After waiting for a while and not hearing back from them, I sent my Uber driver a message at 1 PM asking for an update on the food. They get back to me right away, telling me that according to the restaurant, it would take another 4 minutes. The driver also apologized for how long it was taking but honestly, I felt bad for the driver more than anything. All of the time that they spent waiting at the restaurant is time that they are not earning any money. They are essentially having their time wasted by the restaurant, and I don't think that's acceptable. At 1:13 PM, the driver tells me that they still have them waiting on the order. At this point, my patience is running dry. I tell the Uber driver that if my order isn't ready by 1:18 PM, they can cancel the order. To no surprise, it's 1:18 PM and my order still isn't ready so I tell the Uber driver to cancel the order. I was a little upset about not getting my food, but I could just order from another restaurant so it wasn't the end of the world. Unfortunately, it only got worse from here. When I checked the status of the order on the Lucky Cat Poke Co. and Uber Eats websites, it displayed that the order was still ongoing. I was concerned about this because I wanted to cancel the order, but there was no way to do so on either website. Concerned, I called Genghis Grill to ask them about it as there was no way to get in touch with Lucky Cat Poke Co. directly. I called Genghis Grill multiple times and I gave them my phone number so they could call me back, but they never picked up the phone and to this day, they have never called me back. I think it is extremely negligent for a restaurant to not have any way to cancel an order after it has been placed. At 2:06 PM, I finally received an email confirming that my order was cancelled. I assume that the Uber driver told them to cancel the order, but they just chose not to cancel it until it was convenient for them. So not only do they take a long time to make food orders, they also take a long time to cancel food orders. I am extremely disappointed with both Genghis Grill and Lucky Cat Poke Co. and I strongly discourage anyone from ordering food from either of these entities until they pull themselves together and start treating their customers with some respect, or at least enough respect to at least pick up the phone.

Took over an hour for the food and then the waiter ended up canceling the order because it was going to take too long.

Food was really good. Service was very friendly and it was reasonably quick.

Food is always amazing. Staff always seems a bit slow or lost. But are always nice/professional/courteous. Prices are great for the portion size!

Nothing about this place was good. The waitress was horrible. The food was awful. It took forever to get our food and the check.

They took my order right away but after waiting 20 minutes for my order I asked them to make it to go so I could get back to work. The server came back and told me they had to wait for the rice to cook. I ended up just paying for my drink and leaving. Not a good frost time trying it.

Service very slow. Person that should of been helping us was too busy talking. The cook overcooked our food, the waiter had to go stir our food because the cook was no where to be found.

I moved here over three years ago, and this has been the worst food service experience I have had. I went in, seated myself like the sign said, and proceeded to sit there for 10 minutes before anybody saw me. There were two servers working and the place was Steadily busy. A young man with curly hair. Finally responded to me when I waved at him. He was serving other customers and literally looked right at me several times without responding. I truly felt invisible. He was pleasant, but absolutely scattered. After bringing me an iced tea, he commenced to forget all about me again. I had to stand up and wave so he could take my order. Again, I sat and waited and waited. Finally, I flagged down the woman server and asked her if she could please check for my order. She came back eventually with my order, which was Jambaiaya, and mediocre. She did not forget me, which was nice. I felt invisible in this place. They did not even bring me the right check for my meal. Instead of bringing me a check for $50. My lady server asked me to be sure and come back, but, as sweet as she was, I won’t be going back to Genghis Grill in Las Cruces..

We love this place. Is worth the long drive from el paso. So sad the el paso location closed but me and my family still go to this location. Food is awesome and customer service never disappoints. Cook and waiters always so attentive

The recent menu change has made noodles a part of the bar, and not a base for the bowls, which was the whole point of the place. Ordered iced tea before learning about the new changes, otherwise would have left without spending anything here. If you want a noodle bowl, this is not the place to get it.

Ordered Orange Chicken which was very soggy. Also ordered Teriyaki Chicken which was very dry and didn't taste fresh. They were out of broccoli. We also ordered 2 egg rolls which they forgot about. Received about 15 min after our order was served. We were only customers. Menu was recently changed and prices were substantially increased.

Our order of orange chicken was placed on very very cold rice they tried to warm it up but only the chicken came back warm ,the rest of the food was good, just very pricey

We love to go here but it seems like they continue to struggle to stay open. Never more than two to three employees. The food is great once it arrives but you must be patient. I do wish the owners would visit and see the condition of the inside and outside of the restaurant. Friendly team working with what they have.

Having been a big fan of a similar restaurant chain in the Midwest, we were excited to find this place during a visit to Las Cruces. Arrived around 6 and it was fairly empty. It’s rather dark and the aisles seemed a bit cramped. Greeted by an employee and we got menus; drinks soon followed. Made our selections only to find out the bowl policy for make your own - bottomless - does not allow you to take leftovers out of the restaurant. This was verbally explained and nowhere shown on the menu (that we could see). Also, the diner is forced to choose a “base” (cabbage, rice (brown or white), or tortillas (along with some others and some of those were an up charge)) that is added to your bowl when the grilling is complete. Tableside checkout turned into a 10-minute ordeal. Signage prompts diners to download the chain’s app for reward points and discounts. Only problem is, the staff does not have access to the app and had no idea about the deals associated with the app. Was told by one staff member that “…we cannot have the app - or we will get fired…” The poor guy at the grill ended up working his tail off - and no one stepped back there to help as the supper crowd grew (a group of 14 arrived after we did) and orders backed up. We had high hopes but came away slightly disappointed.

Great place. It's a little different from the one on El Paso, but still similar. Good food, lots of it too, if you choose to get that much. It's a little like a buffet, but they have 3 different sizes of bowls to put your food in. Then you pick from the available raw food, and then have them cook it. Good stuff! Will come again.

Richard is the best chef there is! He was so amazing and even came to our table to see how the food was. I had put to much sauce and it burned when cooking it. It was my first time there so I didn't know. He offered to do it again. I said no, thank you. I was embarrassed lol. The manager (I think she was) was amazing and understanding took it off the bill. Everyone was just awesome. Richard, thank you for everything and tell the manager I said thank you. If she was not a manager she should be! I wish I got her name.

Good place with decent food. The pre made bowls were alright. I got the make yourself bowl and it turned out good!

The place have an amazing choice of food and the service and atmosphere was amazing the waiter Zander he was always checking on us when he could and he was super nice if I could I would rate the place 10 stars.

I always loved going to the El Paso location, I was so upset when it closed. I came to work in cruces and came to the location and had the same excellent service and great food. Love you guys!

The place is clean and was not crowded. We are vegetarians and asked to do chefs choice using veggies instead of meat and they agreed. The cook was nice enough to offer our bowl to be filled with veggies that we liked and the sauces too our spice level and not to mention they cleaned the grill before cooking for us based on our requests. We enjoyed our dinner including kids

They are best when it comes to make your own bowl. Staff here are very courteous and friendly, make you feel very comfortable. Isaac thoroughly cleaned the grill and made the best stir fry on our order. He is simply awesome. Kimy was very friendly and made us feel at home all through while we were here. Highly recommend them!!!

Great first time experience. It was a little confusing at first but our server Lakammi was EXTREMELY helpful and kind. We did a build your own, and the cook for us was Rilley. He was very kind as well and he cooked our food to perfection!

The steak is a choking hazard. Not cut all the way through. Not thoroughly cooked. Can't chew it right. It almost slides down the throat like a gummy. Dangerous.

I really trying to be kind to all restaurants, I know it is a lot between being short staff and all the other things. Order take out for two. One bowl was incorrect the other had a LONG nasty hair in it!!! VERY UNHAPPY & COMPLETELY DISGUSTED WITH THE HAIR THAT WAS LITERALLY 8 IN LONG IN MY BOWEL!!! Potstickers were burnt, was missing fried rice had to go back for it.

The meat was cold, vegetables were fresh. Chicken was grilled to perfection, just the way I like it. Friendly atmosphere!!!!! Will be back for sure.

Arrived at 6:15 on a Saturday to a nearly empty restaurant. We had 55 minutes for dinner. Easy peasy as our meal should be on the grill in like 10 minutes. Nope. Waited for several minutes at the front before anyone came to seat us. A couple of employees noticed us but never came up to even acknowledge us. We ordered 4 small bowls and went to the food bar. There were 5 meals on the grill when we got to it, and no one ahead of us. We sat back down and waited and waited and waited. My meal got dropped off. About 4 minutes later came the other two. And there sat my friend waiting for her meal. We saw them put it up to be delivered. We saw employees look at the ticket and not deliver it. Finally, my husband went up to get it. Nope. Someone "will bring it to us." 45 minutes after entering a nearly empty restaurant, she finally got her meal. She was only able to eat a few bites before we had to ask for a box. No wonder this place was empty on a busy Saturday. The bathrooms needed tended to and sneeze guards are missing from the sauce areas. It appears as if the place needs some TLC and better management. BTW... If you want chow mein noodles, they are no longer self serve. Just ask. Really disappointing.

If you like quantity, this place is good. Food is very bland and flavorless though. Honest opinion. As far as service, see for yourself if interested everywhere has there bad days.

I was in and out and the proportion was good for aubergine who eats like me.

Food is not what it used to be, the server is busy on her cell phone instead of taking care of customers, the place is very sticky and in need of repairs. It's very expensive for what it is... Hubby took boys to wash their hands and said the handle was missing to turn on the faucet and there was no soap... I'm wondering where the male cook washes his hands 🤢

The food was excellent! Just what I needed while on travel. Reason I chose this restaurant. It is my 1st time here. Very healthy. Well cooked. I have leftovers to take home ❤ The waiter Christopher gave me excellent service from the get go. He was on top of my table of 1. Making sure my drink was away full and if I needed anything. They like to serve their customers. If you ate in the area, I recommend it! The ambience, furniture, bar and restrooms look great. Thank you!

Visiting from out of town and was looking for a place to eat.... my sister had eaten at a genghis before so we stopped there. Our server Natasha was perfect... not overly attentive or lagging...kept our glasses filled and made sure we weren't lacking anything. The food was delicious and delivered promptly... Thanks for the delicious food 😋

My husband and I go at least once every year. Although it's almost 2 hours away for us. We went for the birthday celebration of Genghis Grill! The restaurant had an incredible special and super insane. I was worried about the restaurant being packed. When we finally got there it they did have guests but things were a bit hectic. I was served by Samantha and her teammates. They worked together to make it one of the best experiences for us. We didn't dine in just because we knew it would be busy and didn't want to cause them to stay too much after closing. Just know you're able to vu8ld your bowls anf it's best because you know exacthis month they have endless bowl and tly what you like. Though there are perdone optuons I always find it best to build my own. They were out of ingredients but I definitely wouldnt doubt that it was .because of the special ait's super great because you can have one there and take another home for another mealnd time of day. I recommend going if you haven't gone.
