Fantastic food! The owner was there and gave us great suggestions. Fish was fresh, fantastic burger and kid friendly.

Was here Monday on a long wait before flying out of FLL. Perfect fries and the mahi mahi sandwich was so good. The cheesecake was so good I had to get an extra piece, and that's not to mention the service! The mother and son duo behind the counter made it feel like home, saying we could stay as long as we needed; the person bussing/waiting was friendly yet had like a sixth sense for when to clear tables, when to check in, everything. A gem!

Good food, generous portions, smiling staff and affordable prices, what more could you want? We ordered a tuna sandwich and a salad, but the place is famous for its burgers, which have earned the title of the best in South Florida.

Pricey for what we ordered. $8 for a side of cole slaw - ridiculous.

Been here twice and nothing but good things to say about it. Friendly owner, quality food, including great burgers, seafood and soups. Will be back.

Came in craving both baby back ribs and chicken wings. Spoke to Ms. Gilbert, the owner, who was taking orders at the register. She recommended both. So I ordered both. 8 wings and a 1/2 rack of ribs. Homemade blue cheese and crispy sweet potato fries. BOTH were amazing, delicious and out of this world. Hard to find a place that makes both so well. I would definitely suggest ordering the grilled wings. If you’re ANYWHERE near the area, this is a MUST stop. Couldn’t be happier! Thanks Ms. Gilbert!!

Fantastic Family Owned Restaurant where everything is scratch made! We had the soup of the day, ribs and ghost pepper burgers! The meat is ground daily! Wait until you try the desserts because they too are scratch made and fantastic!

Very good burgers! We ordered the hickory and the brie, both were very good! The potatoes were also spectacular. The service is excellent and the owners are on site looking out for their customers. We tried the cookie with ice cream and it was very good. Recommended!

By far the best burgers you'll find in SoFlo! I was here last night and everything was as wonderful as when I lived here years ago and would come regularly. Burgers are cooked to perfection. Thick, juicy, delicious patties. Tons of creative flavor/topping combos. I went with the Brie, caramelized onions, and Bacon.... outta this world! 🔥🔥 The place itself is very chill, great environment, super friendly staff and chefs. A great place to hang out, go on a date, a work meeting, etc. Don't even think any further- if you like burgers go to Gilbert's and get one. You will definitely not be disappointed

I had the best burger I've ever had in my life. I ordered the chimichurri burger with no cheese, medium rare, with fries. The burger was phenomenal! I rarely eat an entire burger - especially one this big - but I ate the entire thing. I only ate a few fries, but to be perfectly honest, I didn't love them, but it didn't matter because the burger was so incredibly good. My companion had a plain burger and enjoyed it although felt that it was undercooked (a medium was ordered, but it was definitely a medium rare). I can't wait to go back again!

This place is great! The service was wonderful and the food was even better. My burger was cooked to perfection and the bun was fluffy and soft.

One of my favorite burger joints. The burgers here juicy and thick. This place is Fort Lauderdale staples and has won burger awards. However I would highly recommend not skipping out on dessert they are delicious. The service is extra friendly. Usually the owner takes your order and the servers refill your drinks and bring out your food. Be sure to bring some cash since there is no place to tip on the receipt so I usually end up tipping the servers a few bucks for taking care of me.

This place is absolutely awesome! The food, the service was 2nd to none. We were welcomed by the owner and staff with open arms. If you are in the area you need to eat here. Owner comes to great you, servers all smiles, food excellent. I had the ahi tuna (yum) my husband the ribs, my son the chicken wings. All yum!!!. I don’t like sweet potatoes BUT their sweet potato fries were the best.!!! Come here for great food and awesome service!! You won’t be disappointed.

I recently visited Gilbert's 17th Street Grill and had their amazing Angus burger. The flavor was simply out of this world! The burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and served on a fresh, delicious bun. The accompanying fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the staff were attentive and polite. This place is a gem and an absolute must-visit for burger lovers. Highly recommended!

Visitor from out of state that’s contemplating moving to FL just to eat here! Visited with my family and the owner greeted us and told us all about the meat, the bread and everything else. I had the Dominican burger and sweet potato fries with regular fries and mannnnnnnnnn ——chef’s kiss!!! I can’t even explain how good this food was. The owners son-in-law was attentive and so very proud of the food. Wonderful wonderful!!!! Keep up the great work.

We came here with a large party. The food was great, however the gentlemen taking the orders makes the ordering experience horrible. He is one of the rudest people I have experienced. The older lady is not much better.

Came in off of a recommendation. And I have to say that the greeting and pleasant customer service I received was chief kiss. Speaking of chief kiss, I got a regular cheese burger with my allergy accommodations not being an issue. This burger brought me back to when I was a young girl at a family barbecue. I absolutely enjoyed the staff, service and food. I live in WPB and will be make my way back down here for a burger fix.

First time to this restaurant. Found by random "food near me" search. Walked in and greeted by owner. This was a nice change of pace. Very friendly. Explained the menu and ordering. Wait time for food was good and as expected. Food was excellent. Burger was actually medium, how I ordered it and not just served how they wanted. Even the fries were better than normal tasting. Would highly recommend this to anyone and I will definitely come back when I'm in,Fort Lauderdale again! 5 stars all around.

Burgers are absolutely delicious. They are massive and the staff was so kind.

The service was great and fast. We had a large group and they worked fast to give us our food. Everyone was helpful from the beginning. We really appreciate it.

I just happen to be in the area and goggled somewhere to eat and came across this gem. It was so good! I had the tuna sandwich and it’s one of the best tuna’s around. Desserts look delicious but I was too full to try. Will definitely go back though.

Nothing fancy inside, but what counts is the quality of food and services. Okay so we gave this place a 5 star for their friendliness, quality of food and menu selections. The young lady at the front and the servers are very friendly. Good price, portions are good, delicious food. We had a Greek salad, order of grilled chicken wings Lemmon pepper and teriyaki seasoning, and beef wrap. They were all good. Would love to return and definitely try the burgers next time. Thank you to the staffs of Gielbert’s.

This restaurant here is a classic! I walked in and this place felt like home. I had the fish cod sandwich which was cooked to perfection! The fish cod tasted magnificent! I also ordered the mild grilled wings which had plenty of flavor! The service was top notch, I felt like the owner was my mother. I can't wait to go back!!

Great place for burgers and other things. Counter service order, and then everything brought to you with very good service. Burgers definitely looked and tasted delicious. Fish was good too. The lady at the counter (presume the owner) was very friendly. Good local place to eat at and support.

My family and I stopped in Gilbert's while waiting to head to the airport to return home (TN and IL). Let me tell you, this is one stop we absolutely enjoyed! We were looking for good food after returning from C.C.L where the food sucked all weekend! This place did NOT disappoint. We had the burger, but it was the grilled chicken breast sandwich, fried AND grilled wings that got us..chefs kiss! The cherry on top was the amazing hospitality of Rich and team, especially the young man distributing the food. You can tell its family owned and operated because of the warm feel. If I am ever back in FL, Gilbert's will be a place of repeat. Thank you again Rich! We did not have time to meet your mom but we will next time!

Visited Gilbert's for the first time today while in town for vacation. I'm not sure why I haven't been here sooner! It's a very laid back, family owned diner with such nice and hard working staff. But onto the main course, the food. I had the "Domican Burger" and my girlfriend had a half rack of ribs both with fries. The burger was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked to order at medium. Honestly one of the better burgers I've had in quite a while. The ribs were cooked to perfection as well. Little fat, and very tender with the most delicious smoked BBQ flavor, I highly recommend them! They also served what is most likely my favorite Key Lime pie I've ever tried here. Homemade recipe, and worth a try. I cannot recommend Gilbert's enough and should be a stop on everyone's list whether they live here or are just passing through!

A great family owned business. GREAT food!!! Great service, from our server, Wellington. He was excellent and on point. He made sure our every need was met. Lenore, the owner of the place was so personable, and outgoing. She took her time to explain what they had, how it was prepared, where the food came from, so forth and so on. And the cook, took time while preparing a meal, to let us know how he could prepare the meal, if we wanted? I will most definitely be back, again and again.

The staff was very friendly, but the food was not good in my opinion. Had the oven roasted wings. The wings were not good. They were burnt. Also, the fries were not freshed. The chicken breast was dry and without flavor. The bun for the grill chicken sandwich was cold...straight out of the fridge, not toasted. The food needs to be improved. Not worth the price!

To me, this is still BY FAR the best burgers in South Florida. You can taste the quality of the meatand freshness of the ingredients. They are not trying to reinvent the wheel... They just have it down to a science!

Over cooked fries, plain bun ( not warm or toasted) :( seats /cushions are horrible, men’s bathroom has a distinctive, bad smell, and needs remodeling. Burger was average 💁. In my opinion Jacks has better food. Gilbert’s food is definitely not cheap for what you get. I drove like 12 miles to taste this burger just to be let down . PS. They have mayonnaise in a ketchup jar at the condiment stand. Half of the bottles of ketchup on the tables were almost empty. Deserts looked pretty nice though. (1) waiter serving the entire restaurant @ 7pm 💁

Easily the best burgers in south Florida. Meat was cooked to perfection, tasty, juicy, and fresh. Everything on it was fresh and delicious as well. Very generous sizes at a great price. Staff was extremely friendly and tentative, always making sure I was good and had everything I needed. Their desserts were unbelievable as well. Honestly can’t recommend this place enough. 100% will be going back to try their other options. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

We are just swinging through town after a cruise, the restaurant was close to the hotel and had great reviews. They deserve every 5* review and more. To start the burger was great. Perfectly seasoned big piece of meat cooked how you want. Great sweet potato fries and the Key lime pie is stupid great. I would eat myself sick if what little willpower I have didn't stop me. So if in the area I would highly recommend the place. Nice family owned business too.

We stopped here for lunch before catching our flight back to Kansas City. Every single person was so friendly and the food was excellent! We had the havarti burger and lemon pepper wings. Then we couldn’t leave without a slice of key lime pie. We tried several while we were vacation in the Keys/south Florida this week and this one was our favorite! If we lived here Gilbert’s would be a regular spot for us for sure.

We happened upon this place while shopping at Publix. We were hungry and needed something before heading to the airport. They are known for their burgers and days later I am still tasting and craving the blue cheese burger. I am gluten free so I choose no bun and asked for the slaw. It was an absolutely perfect meal.

The atmosphere and service is incomparable to anywhere else I’ve been to. The owner was extremely kind, communicative, and conversational - which is something you almost never get to experience!! Both the young woman and young man serving the seating area were efficient, interactive, kind, and incredibly helpful. Additionally, all the staff members behind the counter, in the kitchen, and waiting on tables were incredible at juggling the influx of people, maintaining positive and interactive customer service, and we’re incredibly attentive to patrons in addition to anticipating the needs of our group, as well as others in the facility. BUT THE FOOD!!! Absolutely amazing in every aspect. Two members of my group got the Burger with cheese while another member of my group and I shared the chicken club with mushrooms, onions and provolone. ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR. Members of my group are incredibly picky and hard to please but we all collectively agreed that these were the best burgers we’ve had in our entire lives. The seasoning, portion, cut of beef, preparation and cooking was sensational. Thank you staff for all your hard work!!

Eat here if staying at a nearby hotel before a cruise!! Staying nearby before our cruise tomorrow. We had lunch with dessert. We were a party of 9, 4 A 5 k. Richard took our orders and made some recommendations. He ABSOLUTELY helped us feel welcomed and like longtime regulars. Richard also had many regulars who he knew by name come in while we were there. The kids had fresh fried chicken fingers (massive, crispy and delicious) Mac and cheese ( the right amount of actual white cheese sauce) and kids cheese burger (again delicious). Adults had blackened mahi mahi tuna sandwich with mushrooms, (Fresh portion and not excessive on the spice),one with fries one with coleslaw. A grilled chicken Caesar salad (nice touch with croutons) and a cheeseburger (Fries were excellent and the burger again freshly prepared freshly cooked). All the lettuce and tomatoes and garnishments were fresh. Really can’t say enough of how welcoming not just Richard but all the staff was during our lunch. I would definitely be one.

We stopped in for dinner, it was within walking distance of our hotel. We were greeted by the owner and she welcomed us warmly and gave us some back story as well. We both had burgers, they were excellent! The sweet potato fries were very good the coleslaw was excellent! Reasonably priced casual dining that is fully recommended.

What a great experience! The staff and owner could not have been kinder or more welcoming. Order at the counter, but otherwise full service. The burgers were huge and delicious, Mac and cheese won the honor of second best my 7yo son has ever eaten (and that’s about the only thing he ever eats), and the wings got the stamp of approval from my dad who lives in Buffalo. People are really kind and friendly and the burgers are AMAZING!! We come from Germany and this Burgers are outstanding and some of the best we have ever had. The owner and her son are wonderful.
