Stopped in for a quick bite. The space is casual and small. I got the chicken Bahn-Mi and my husband got the pork Bahn-Mi. They were both delicious! Soft bread, the meat was tender, juicy and seasoned well. The veggies were crisp and pickled. Highly recommend these dishes, perfect on a hot day!

I had the chicken Banh Mi from the booth at Sonic Lunch. It was delicious. I will have to come check out the restaurant

We ordered the veggie rolls and a veggie tofu bahn mi. The veggie rolls (not pictured) came in a prepackaged tissue/wax wrapped way and when we tried to take it out to eat there was residue of the tissue on the rolls which we ignored and continued to eat. Next, we were excited to eat the Bahn Mi but there was no tofu in it and some suspicious meat. Not sure what kind of meat it is but it’s in the picture. No traces of tofu and the rest of the veggies were in super sweet sauce. Overall, I was very disappointed because I wasn’t able to eat much because I’m vegetarian.

Not bad for a quick and inexpensive meal for lunch. I tried the beef pho. The broth and texture for the noodles were good. It needs a better protein/noodle ratio and a side of bean sprouts and Thai chili peppers. Right now the only vegetable in there is a sprinkle of cilantro. The AC should be turned on a bit more, considering people are ordering a hot soup in the middle of summer.

It was the worst pho I’ve ever had. The wait was long, and the taste was awful. Anyone who has tried pho before would probably not want to come back.

My friend and I ordered vegetarian pho and got no tofu in either of our bowls despite the description on the menu. I am not sure this is the fault of the staff as it seems they are assembling a pre-made stir fry of vegetables and tofu that has pretty much no tofu. But I do think it's misleading to the customer and especially matters since tofu is the main protein source in the veg options. My friend's order also arrived late, which was understandably an honest mistake, but was given in a to-go container that wasn't designed for soup.

I was there fifteen minutes ago but I had to tell you how good this beef bahn mi is. The folks behind the counter were super sweet and my bahn mi came out fast. Gonna recommend this place to everybody!

(1) Shrimp Summer Roll: the picture on the website is showing that there are three shrimps whereas in reality there are only two. Little bit pricey considering the portion bc it’s really tiny. The wrap itself is too hard, and difficult to chew. Won’t order this again. (2) Beef Pho: pretty hollow as there are only a few slices of beef, some scallions, cilantro, whatever seasoning and pho and that’s all. Didn’t feel full after finishing this. Will not order this again. (3) Pork Bahn Mi: tastes good and dimensional but relatively small portion. Will reorder. Consider it’s located in downtown area, the fact that the value is a little bit lower than other Vietnamese restaurants makes sense. However, it’s a cute place and the staff are very nice. Still worth visiting!

Pancetta Bahn Mi is the best sandwich in Ann Arbor, hands down. Don’t let the sandwich of a lifetime pass you by, you will be missing out on something special.

ordered a vegetarian tofu banh mi to-go to eat on my trip out of town. just opened it up to find that it contains one tiny piece of tofu as well as a lot of some kind of sliced meat? unfortunately the sandwich is completely inedible, and i was too far away to go back. very disappointing. the space is cute and people working in the shop were very kind though!

Ginger Deli is a must try! On a cool day go for the pho. The beef and vegetarian are both excellent. On a warmer day - a Banh MI is a fantastic go to option. Atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is very friendly even when busy.

The banh mi was excellent, but the pho was very disappointing. Very little amount of meat in the pho. It was essentially just noodles and broth. The broth was just okay.

This is my favorite lunch spot in Ann Arbor. They're quick, delicious, and reasonably priced. I was devastated when their original location closed and I'm so happy they're back!

mixed emotions about the ginger deli. we asked for the vermicelli bowl, but they were out. I got a great beef banh mi, she got some shrimp chips and some spring rolls. The banh mi was really tasty, but seemed kinda small. the shrimp chips were pretty terrible, about 40% of the bag was stale, the others were ok. the interior is cool, the ceiling is an old steel ceiling, pretty cool.

Been here several times now hoping previous experiences were a fluke but I'm done overpaying for small portions mediocre food. The food is nowhere near authentic, even for Ann Arbor standards. The Bahn Mi's, which don't even use baguettes, are small and inconsistent: one time it was almost all carrot, one time I got only two tiny pieces of meat, and one time they put exactly one stem of cilantro on. I've only gotten the pho once, it was just okay, wouldn't get it again.

I got a chicken Banh mi from the ginger deli station at the University of Michigan Hospital Cafe. I can't speak to the service or atmosphere of the deli itself, but this is one of the best sandwiches I've had. Plan to visit the actual shop with my partner! Delicious food.

Wow worst pho ever. I don't see how this restaurant has such a high rating. VERY deceiving. Literally just noodles with 3 tiny slices of rare beef an a sprinkle of green onion. The broth was actually delicious but overall very disappointed

很清淡的beef pho good place when you are looking for something light and quick. The staff is also friendly. Try the summer roll with peanut sauce. Amazed me when I had a bite of the mint.

The food was awful. I have never eaten pho so bare. They just gave me soup, noodles, and 3 slices of meat. When the guy brought me the food, he just gave a small piece of lime. It was smaller than the spoon. No vegetables, no taste in the soup. The soup was half of the bowl. It wasn't even full. Just a few noodles, I was able to see the bottom of the bowl because there weren't enough noodles. This is the first time that I see in a Vietnamese restaurant pho with the soup, noodles, and meat coming separately. I ordered a summer roll with shrimp, and the roll just had 2 shrimps, and the rolls were pre made. They had them in a box wrapped. By the way, when I tried to take them out from the box, the plastoc wrap stuck to the paper. I felt so disappointed because I drove until downtown to eat something really bad. I could have spent my money in something different around or in a different Vietnamese place. It was a nightmare. Pho was 11 dollars, and the roll 5 dollars

Pros: Friendly employees Fast service Affordable Good options It’s not the best Banh mi I’ve had in Ann Arbor (RIP belly deli) but it’s the most accessible!! If you are looking for a great sandwhich in Ann Arbor, Ginger Deli's banh mi is an absolute must. The pancetta banh mi is my go to for lunch and it's only around $8! The baguette is perfectly toasted so there is a crunchy exterior, yet still soft enough that you aren't destroying the roof of your mouth. The pancetta, garlic aioli sauce, pickled veggies, jalapeño and cilantro all compliment each other creating a flavor packed delicious sandwhich. Highly recommend Ginger Deli for their banh mi!

I would say it is not authentic, but it tastes great and the staffs are super nice. Recommend the pork sandwiches.

Portion sizes were very small. My expectations were different from what it ended up being, vermicelli bowl was something made earlier in the day, not made fresh. The pork was really dry and the spring roll was cold and chewy. Haven’t tried anything else so can’t speak on that, but was disappointing, as it wasn’t cheap, and the food was mediocre and small

~$13 for ~2oz of beef and watered-down broth.. I'm disappointed. Maybe it was shrinkflation, or that I arrived at 3pm and too many people ordered the pho before I did during the lunch rush, but I think I'll just stick with the banh mi from now on (which is pretty good). Also, it doesn't come with basil/bean sprouts/peppers. The staff and decor are nice, but it's 3 stars purely on the quality of pho.

Tofu bahn mi was too tangy, and not enough protein in it except 2 slices of Tofu. Size is nice and large for lunch. Nice staff.

I get the pho regularly and it truly is like medicine. Their broth is the richest I've had in the area. If I ever started to feel a cold coming on, legit, I get Ginger Deli Pho and feel better! Not to me tonight the owner is a wonderful human and the staff are also so sweet and lovely to chat with. Love this place so much and I'm so grateful they're a part of thus community!

Ok, so I don't normally give such a low review but to be quite frank this was by far the WORST phó I have ever had and I've been eating phó for a VERY long time. I give credit where credit is deserved and here the only credit they deserve is the pleasantly simple atmosphere and the seating outside. Now the service was 😐neutral. No bathrooms anywhere I turned to look. Now, food. The broth was Decent but the noodles and the beef tasted like cardboard. The noodles mushed up in our mouths and it just didn't have the rice noodle texture phó noodles are like. No bean sprouts, no basil no side of lime they just threw a pice of lime in my broth. So disappointing and had it been a different setup I would have asked for a refund and I NEVER do that. On a brighter note the bhan mi seems to be popular, maybe I should've tried that. Smh.

Holy bajeebus! I am so happy to finally be able to review Ginger Deli's storefront operation. Many moons ago, I was able to grab a tasty banh mi from their old location off of Liberty. Then came Covid, halting their relocation and putting a serious dent in my ability to quench cravings for yummy Vietnamese. I moved away for a year, came back, yada yada yada and just assumed my dream would never come to fruition. Today I was walking by Liberty on my way downtown and caught a sandwich out of the corner my eye. I knew immediately what it must be and abandoned what I was doing to fulfill my carnal desire for yummy tofu, pickled goodness, fresh bread and tasty aoili. WORTH THE WAIT - service was beyond exceptional, the sammy was reasonably priced, fresh, on point, delicious, alllllll the words. I'd have taken a picture but I ate it on my walk home and destroyed the evidence. So glad to see this spot back in action - see you every week for the rest of my life. Had vegi pho and I think it taste good!

I was grateful for the opportunity to check out Ginger Deli yesterday. The staff was very friendly. The food was fantastic; we tried the papaya salad, rolls and shrimp chips, with various yummy sauces. Always happy to see gluten free and healthy options :) Am friends with the owner; he is a hard working, talented and sincere guy. I loved seeing his artistic side coming through in the design and drawings, and all his dedication come to fruition.

I thought the bahn mi was pretty good and the pho was okay. You have to specially request Sriracha, hoisin, and lime and it comes with no bean sprouts.

Amazing service with friendly servers and employees! The crunchy spring rolls, regular spring rolls, shrimp chips (which were a complimentary gift), and beef pho were so good. Will definitely be returning.

Very good pho, just a small portion

My "vegan" Bahn Mi was filled with chicken on both sides of the bread touching all the tofu. Tried to call but phones are disconnected. Edit: management reached out to apologize and offered a free sandwich. Haven't taken them up on it but it seems that they have strong customer service and that this was a fluke.

My partner and I went there on a whim. Got the banh mi and vermicelli bowl. The grilled chicken in the vermicelli bowl was cooked and seasoned just right! The mint and cilantro was fresh! So tasty! The banh mi was the best either of us have ever had. The baguette was made fresh, tender meat and lots of veggie crunch! We will definitely be back again!

Absolutely unacceptable. Both me and my friend we both ordered the exact same pho and we both had to wait more than 30 minutes. Mine came way later (my friend literally finished their pho before mine came), and the broth straight up tasted different. It had a ton of oil which made the beef and the noodles extremely oily as well. The taste was unpleasant. I also mentioned to them that I didn't want any cilantro but there was still some of it in my pho. The pho also did not come with any basil, bean sprouts, nor onions. Would not recommend this restaurant if you're looking to have a good tasty pho meal with consistency.

The pho was mediocre and not athletic. The broth was tasty, but the portion was relatively small and not much meat. No sprouts, jalapeño or greens to add to the pho were brought. No hot sauce or hoisin sauce.

Amazing and fresh tasting pho soup- I love eating it with a squeeze of lime and touch of Siracha. Banh Mi sandwiches and spring rolls are also first rate!

Great Vietnamese joint in AA if you're looking for a warm bowl of Pho. Super friendly owners! Portion sizes are a little small especially for the Bahn MI but the flavor was awesome, just wish I had more for $8. Ps. They should add tripe, meatballs, and tendon to the Pho for the authentic experice ;)

MUST VISIT! This place has hands down the best Pho in Ann Arbor. Great Bahn Mi and shrimp chips too! It’s not a sit down restaurant, but definitely tip because Te and Melissa are the bestest, friendliest people you will meet! Price point is also really good, especially comparing to the other noodle establishments around the area. VISIT!!

This place is fantastic. Best banh mi of all time and as a vegan, I appreciate that they offer veganaise. My sister got the chicken banh mi and said it was the best sandwich she's ever had. The bread is light and soft unlike any other banh mi sandwich I've had. Great prices and very friendly and helpful staff. Overall 10/10 experience. Will definitely be going on a regular basis.

Walking in I wasn’t sure what to expect as the decor is minimalist but the kitchen is a small powerhouse. 9 of us had Bahn Mi sandwiches and couldn’t get over how good they were. Deceptively complex and packed with flavor. The owner was so gracious to drop off a few spring rolls which were also amazing. We decided to take home the pho broth for lunch the next day which came with rice noodles veggies and thin sliced beef. I find pho can be bland but this was anything but. Very flavorful as was the kohlrabi and mango salad. Probably some of the best food I’ve had in AA!

The world is missing out! These ARE the BEST sandwiches that you will EVER have. I could not believe that I wanted to go to have lunch at a hospital🤣 They have a place at 303 South Division, Ann Arbor, MI, as well. Try it! You will NOT be disappointed!!

They make their own bread and its delicious. I trief the beef sandwich and its really good. I woulf have given better rating if they had more open hours! I can only go once a year when I renivate my parking pass.

The beef banh mi is the best on the menu. The meat holds the most flavor and moisture. Everything was very good, for the most part. However, the baguettes are a little dry and the spring rolls stuck to the cardboard container. I would reccomend serving the spring rolls in the wax paper used for the sandwiches so that patrons aren't eating cardboard rolls!

Popular young local walk-up, particularly for lunch. Their staple menu of Banh Mi, Pho, and Summer Rolls are consistently some of my favorite lunch choices in the city. Always delicious.
