I normally like grasshopper too and know majority of the bartenders, but I placed an order to go and I'm pretty upset with what I received after spending $120 . It's supposed to be a Bleu cheeseburger burger? Can you guess what's missing? Top bun? That's not to mention that they usually give more fries and pickles, but this is how it looks when I I opened it!!!!!!!!

Great lil Irish pub that does karaoke nights

Food is consistently good...servers are helpful and knowledgeable...I have some leftovers in my refrigerator right now...they always give you more food than you can eat in one sitting.

I have been going here since I've been a kid. The best is knowing what's on the menu I don't like new stuff and new this and that. It's perfect to stay the same they have good food, and depending on the cook back there 👌 but I've never really had any issues in 20years of going..the prices haven gotten higher that's the bummer which I get when what we all spend on eggs n milk. Definitely worth stopping in and eating something.

Me and my boyfriend like to go out to eat once a week and since it's relatively close, we always come here! we are always greeted with amazing service, especially Kristine! They have amazing food selections and always have good games on the TV for us to watch along with Bingo and trivia! 10/10 recommend the crab stuffed mushrooms, they are the best !

We stopped at this place after rails steakhouse, but it was cool, nice vibes, they had someone playing music. Beers were cold, nice dive bar type of place. Didn’t eat anything there so I can’t comment on the food. I’m sure it’s good tho

Nice place with OK food, but the atmosphere and service is good. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I had a great time. The girl who helped us was very nice.

I’d give this place a solid two stars. Food itself was okay, spinach dip was basically water but everything else was pretty good. The service on the other hand is awful. Our server barely came back. When we received our bill at the end, we had our cards ready and waited over 30 minutes just for her to come back and collect and run our cards. I felt like we were here for hours because the service was so incredibly slow. Wouldn’t recommend overall

Been going there for over thirty years and it never disappoints.

We went late night on a Saturday. Roped into Karaoke…. I was bad but the night was fun. Big bar. We didn’t eat anything. Had lots of different alcohols, didn’t see a drink menu. Service was fine.

Good food and good service in a nice environment. All of the burgers are very good. As are the chicken wings and Penne ala Vodka.

It dark and quiet. Good for a group.

Irish pub, Irish food, good atmosphere

I have been going here for years, this place has really dropped in quality on all aspects. Anytime I order food it’s either beyond overcooked to the point where I send it back and get the same overcooked food on return. They also do not have an updated POS at the bar and hand write everything you put on a tab. I was overcharged 2 times and when I ask for a manager the 2nd time the bartender said “You don’t need a manager you need to pay your tab”

Good burgers and chicken, Nice selection of appetizers. Can't go wrong with corn beef with melted Swiss on rye toast and spicy brown mustard

I realize it is a dive bar, but the food was a deep dive. The crispy fish and chips were soggy. My tacos fell apart on the bottom when I picked it up because it was so wet. The side of rice and vegetables and beans taste it like cardboard. If you order a drink, I would suggest only a shot and a bottle beer. I also noticed that the house wine came in a box.

It was good food as always but it was so hot in there.

It was okay. I wouldn’t rush back. Fries were cold. Took a long time for service.

The grasshopper is a cant miss for anything on the menu. I have never been disappointed at any meal there.

The bartender was horrible he thought he was really cool because his daddy owned the place the drinks were weak and the food was garbage.. Who puts olives on a quesadilla? I've been to the other two Grasshoppers and they were both decent but the grasshopper too was horrible. Anthony was a good but Fitzpatrick was like an insecure child that thought we were talking about him so he closed us out. Pathetic

Saint Patrick’s Day here is the best! My family and I are not Irish but coming here each year makes us feel like we are. This year was a blast. The food and drinks never disappoint; and the live music was incredible!

We went the weekend before St. Patrick's day to avoid the crowds. We don't live far and we've been to this restaurant several times before. The staff is always super friendly and the food is consistently quite good. Unfortunately the live band was deafeningly loud, so we ended up skipping dessert and leaving early.

Saty away from the draft beer. Today was the 3rd time my beer had diacetyl. They are not moving enough draft, not cleaning the lines frequently enough or not refrigeratoing the lines between the box and the tap tower.

Food, service, and beer selection were all great!

We went a Saturday night with some friends and it was really fun, they had karaoke going on and the food was good. It was pretty full. I liked it.

Went to grasshopper too for Saturday karaoke with my friends. At the end of the night my friend went to pay her bill she ask the bartender for a detail bill because all they give is piece if paper with numbers on it. So I said to the bartender she has a right for a detailed bill. The bartender had me escorted out of the bar by the bouncer. This should investigate for fraud to it’s consumers.

I find the grasshopper an above average bar/restaurant. I have been their on several different occasions, and it is one of my go-to spots in the area. Nothing unique and no gimmics. Just the classic small-town bar vibes. If this is what you're looking for, you will find it here. Also, our server, Paulina, was totally amazing and went above and beyond to provide an amazing experience.

Grasshopper is a very warm and welcoming, old-fashioned Irish pub. My server John was great! He brought me my food and drinks extremely quickly and always with a smile. My entree, the Capellini Florentino, was brought out even before I could finish my soup. According to John, the kitchen was on its game tonight, which is especially gratifying on a busy Saturday night. As I finished my dessert - a silky and tasty Peanut Butter Pie - I asked John, out of curiosity, if it was Karaoke Night. He informed me that it was and welcomed me to wait a few minutes for it to start. Warmed by the atmosphere, I agreed and waited to see what some of the tipsier patrons of the bar had to offer. A few minutes later, another server named came over to my table. The young and attractive waitress introduced herself as Whitney. She seemed shy but also confident. She then proceeded to make, in her own words, a "proposal" to me: She asked me if I was willing to do a duet with her! Pleasantly surprised and honored by the seemingly random proposal, I happily accepted. I'm not sure just how well I performed the song with Whitney, but we definitely had a blast in getting the crowd to join in the chorus of "Hey Jude - her choice. As a life-long Beatle-maniac myself, I give Whitney extra kudos for having great taste in music. The night went on and John continued to make sure my glass was filled, even after Whitney has to leave for the evening. Whitney also had the good manners to stop by my table to thank me for the fun experience - but the pleasure was all mine. Grasshopper can rest assured that it has earned the repeat business of one very satisfied customer. 😎👍

Classic NJ bar restaurant. Somewhat dark interior with lots of wood trim. Typical Irish bar food menu. Lunch time was busy and service was polite but slow. Food was ok but not outstanding. Fish and chips was more breading than fish. You can do better.

To start, there are extremely horrible bar tenders. They will serve you right away, but will not check up on you after that if you want something else or to close your tab. I had to raise my voice after trying to ask several times to close my tab and they still wouldn’t listen, caring more about Sunday Night Football instead. Both bar tenders are also dressed like as if they just got out of bed, and are too busy watching the game and/or on their phones texting instead of serving customers. Also to add, the younger guy of the two also has an attitude problem. Food was good, but menu is too small and doesn’t specify that the Chicken Rollatini doesn’t involve pasta. Maybe that’s the Irish version of the dish, so sure I could be wrong, but there was no description of the dish on the menu. The beer specials ($4 coronas) were a nice tough despite tho. Issue with bartenders happened twice in a row, so not coming back. The Meadowlands Hilton hotel bar doesn’t even have a tap and mixes drinks with soda cans, but has far better service than here. Disappointed given the original Grasshopper bar in West Milford is on point. Jon Taffer needs to whip the staff here into shape.

Great pub, everything we (party of 10, adults and children) ordered was fresh and tasty. I especially like their salads but everything is good and the staff is always friendly.

Stopped in last week during a quest for good chicken wings. My buddy and I ordered 3 orders to try different sauces. From the 1st bite, the quality was just off. I told my friend that the chicken was tasting much less than fresh. He thought that it might just be the fact that they were fried in some old oil. With each wing I tried, it just tasted like old chicken. I put his theory about the oil to the test by then ordering sliders with fries. The fries tasted fine, and were probably the best part of the whole meal. So, it was not bad oil, but probably old chicken. My friend also ordered the artichoke dip, had one bite, and did not care for anymore. The beer and hard cider were fine, but not enough for me to ever come back with such lackluster food.

Great hangout spot with a spacious bar/restaurant style seating area. It has a nice sized parking lot and it's close by a train station. The prices are a little steep but the food is great after a few drinks. They have karaoke nights and the regulars really make you feel comfortable. Not suitable for a quiet date but perfect for letting your hair down.

So hard to pick from the daily specials versus the regular menu! We went with the regular menu: little neck clams, corned beef & cabbage and Grasshopper martinis!! Where am I that service was so good... not Orlando Florida.

It's a good, classic Irish pub. Tons of tables and a medium-sized bar area. It feels more like a restaurant than a bar because there isn't a lot of standing room by the bar compared to how many tables they have. There are no windows so it's easy to lose track of time. Normal prices on everything as far as I could tell.

Been coming here for years. Hell, even my dad used to go here back in the day. Local pub that's still standing in an area where nearly everything else has come and gone. Solid reason for that, too. It's an Irish Pub, and that's exactly what you get. Alcohol, food, and a good time. Bartenders are always great, even on the busiest nights like karoake night. The foods good, the beers good, the environment is good. Still gonna keep coming here for years to come, as far as I can tell

This is one of the typical pubs. It’s clean, it has a solid beer/liquor selection. It has a large enough menu for kids, picky eaters, snackers, and those who want full meals. I am much more particular for places like this than other spots nearby because it’s low key, good atmosphere, and no frills.

Took a while for food server to take our orders

Place was nice and clean. That's about it. Service was mediocre, food was not very good. Gues it should have been a flag when I asked the server if the Thanksgiving meal special was any good and he replied "alot of people have ordered it"... Might give it one more try when I'm in the area.

Great first time here. Stopped by for a late lunch. The portions were huge. French onion soup , my sandwich and my wifes shepherds pie was delicious! Staff was very prompt and always there when you needed something. Will definitely go back here!
