Great place to go for breakfast on a Saturday morning there's one lady that works there she is absolutely gorgeous with her blonde hair every time I go there I want to ask what her name is but they're always so busy and I don't want to interrupt her work

There’s a reason that the mason jar was packed with people stating outside and you guys were empty this Sunday. Where shall I start. The server walks by says what are you drinking and throws menus on the table without even saying hello. My friend ordered something simple, which is OK. It was grilled cheese and fries. Couldn’t screw that up. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and peas Well, it was obvious the chicken fried chicken was frozen wasn’t homemade. The mashed potatoes were awful, and the peas were cold. To be honest, it was like cafeteria food from middle school. Prices weren’t bad except for a three dollar tea. Which we ordered. Which was actually more than one of the entrées. So I basically wasted 25 bucks. I’m not sure how you got this high rating. The thing is, I’m not picky Very disappointed.

We dropped in here while at a soccer tournament this afternoon. Had never heard of Haystax—just found it on a Google search. Listen to me and listen good: This place is AMAZING. My son had the chicken wrap and my daughter and I both had burgers. Fresh. Fast. Delish. The service was awesome. The waitresses work together on every table. So, don’t be surprised if someone different brings your drinks or bill to the table. Very hometown feel. Clean. Friendly. Great service. Do not drive past this hidden gem. Fair prices for what you get. They close early-afternoon, so be mindful. Breakfast until 2. Yes, please, and thank you. Exactly what we have been missing in Orlando—a diner that does it right. I might take the 1.5 hour trip back to Umatilla just for another hearty, good meal at Haystax. Google Maps has it a little twisted. It’s on a side street. The sign rests high, so look up! Haystax, my new favorite diner. North Lake County, you’re blessed to have this place within reach.

Food wasn't up to its normal quality.

The server was great. She allowed us time to look over the menu. After making our selections, the food was delivered promptly. The meals looked great. I put my fork into my omlet only to find a foreign object in it. I didn't have one bite. The server offered to replace my meal but I declined.

This is exactly what a small town/local diner is supposed to be. Excellent and friendly service. The food is good and the prices are outstanding when you look at what other spots are charging. Be sure to look for this place as it's easy to pass by. This will be a favorite spot for our family.

Great restaurant in Umatilla. It can get crowded after church. It is a casual diner with good food at a reasonable price. The staff is friendly and attentive. You can easily customize your meal. If in the area, it's worth stopping by.

First time going to this place ended up with an excellent Burger and just so happened to end up in a conversation with the owner I think which was a laugh. Just a enjoyable experience.

Great food easy going atmosphere.

It was very good, food came quickly and our waitress was wonderful. It was very busy so it must be a local favorite. Dining area was big enough we didn’t have to wait. I would go back.

The condiment containers are not cleaned regularly, tables smelled like dirty bleach water, hot cakes were burnt and cups smelt like they were washed in the same dirty water as the cleaning rags. Waited 5 mins before someone acknowledged us. The food was edible-ish and the server was friendly enough but I would never visit again.

This is a great little diner. Obviously very popular with the locals. It seems they all know each. I was an outsider but felt like a local. Good food, great service. That's what we're all looking for. Check it out!

We just drove in from Ohio and stopped here for breakfast. Atmosphere was welcoming and the menu has alot of options. I ordered the corned beef hash omelette with home fries and toast, my daughter ordered scrambled eggs with home fries and toast, and my husband ordered over medium eggs with sausage and a biscuit. All of the for was really good, I loved that you can tell the biscuits are homemade! It was all ready in about 15 minutes and the prices can't be beat! So glad we stopped here!

Nice friendly atmosphere and the food is great. This is a small town diner that has it down pat. If you are in the area I suggest you give it a try.

Great food for less $$. I had mom's breakfast: 2 🥚 my way, scrambled dry, 2 pieces of 🥓 and substituted bread with a side of sliced tomatoes. The tomatoes were the size of flapjacks, delicious.

Greg's Haystack never disappoints. Breakfast food is always dpot on. They've got the best home fries of any place around. It's number one on our list.

I had the BLT on rye and it was excellent. Service was great, everyone friendly. I had no idea they were located a block off hwy 19, thankfully my friend took me there. I will be back, just wish they didn't close at 2:00.

I have been to this establishment 3 times now. The first time my friend and I grabbed food on the go. It was good. That was 2 years ago. The second time was last week. I had a Country fried steak and all that it comes with. It was good! I ordered my husband a Fried Catfish sandwich to go. He said it was good. The server was polite. The only thing I didn't enjoy about that visit was the employee that was standing by the register who rolled her eyes and perhaps was having a bad day but was not nice when asked for a to-go cup. My friend wanted to pour the rest of her iced tea into a to-go cup. She should not have to receive all that attitude and the eye roll. My friend has been coming to Greg's since it's been in Umatilla. This is why I did not give this place a 5! Yesterday, June 25, 2023, I went over for lunch with a friend. We ordered a country-fried steak and they were fantastic as always. The server was polite and friendly. It was a great experience.

I’ve been to this place several times. The food is simple but well cooked and tasty. The servers are very friendly and the preparation time is fast. I would have given them a five star rating except for two things. Invariably, the food is not hot. The other is something that happened this Monday last 4/24/23. I ordered a Western omelette with potatoes and toast. They served me a Mexican omelette with potatoes and toast. It was loaded with jalapeños. I feel lucky my wife did not take a taste. She’s severely allergic to jalapeños and could have ended very badly. I, of course, got quite a surprise. The waitress removed the omelette charge, but, still, not good. I will go back, but, now I’ll be checking before taking a bite.

I have been back several times since I posted a bad review I have deleted that review...the changes are like night and day. Food great waitresses so much better to the point I once tipped $20 for a $10 meal.....now back to loving this place...and my everyday go to!!! Breakfast and lunch.

Food is a bit bland but not bad tasting.

It's always great food, always friendly and relaxing. The place is almost always packed or so it seems. You may have to wait for a few minutes but it's worth the wait. It's good ole country folk, down to earth and everyone knows everyone if you've been around here any time at all.

Food was average nothing special. Everything tasted like it was from a box/package. When the food arrived it look like it had been sitting for a little while before we got it. The food was not hot when it came to the table.

Hash brown casserole was raw potatoes with onions and cheese. Sausage gravy Sucked grits were day old lumpy worked for Greg's day the cook would be fired. Best part of meal was the toast waitress fixed that and the façt that the people sitting next to us paid for our meal Thank you by the way

Love it and good food too. Had a maxi wet burrito, which isn't a normal item and I would put it next to the best burrito in Michigan.

Nice clean place. It was bigger inside than I thought it was. All day breakfast and lunch. We decided the burger patties were handmade and really good. I tried the Rueben Burger and it was excellent. Prices very reasonable. Attentative servers.

I will delete this once the owner acknowledges they seen it. I have lived here for a few years and realized I never ate here. The inside is much nicer than the outside. We arrived Saturday at 12:11 it looked like it had been busy lots of straw papers and sugar packets on the floor the table we sat at was sticky. There were a few empty tables. An older lady with gray hair brought us our drinks promptly. She said our waitress would be with us shortly. At 12:45 we left 35 minutes later and no one had taken our order. We did see a few tables who came in after us have their orders taken. The strange part was none of the employees that walked by us would even make eye contact.

I am a huge supporter of local business, so very sad to leave this honest review. This place is well priced for our area. The HUGE killer is the staff. All are terrible with customer service and we dread getting one lady who is outright nasty. They are never friendly and do not refill drinks. At breakfast we feel like we have to beg for coffee which you pay a high price for.....and I am only a 2 cup kinda person! The toast is ridiculous. Always comes out as bread and the one time my daughter asked for them to toast it, they brought a 5 year old black toast! The last time I went, I asked for extra crispy bacon and it came out limp. Now, I am the one who cooks in my large family and have members who enjoy limp and crisp, so I know both can be done. When I asked her to fix it, it came back less than a minute later shrunken and a rock from the microwave. We have a large family, so spend a lot of money when we eat out....and we enjoy eating out. Sad that their terrible service makes them a place we avoid despite living literally 5 minutes away. We drive 20 to Denny's.

Steak overcooked, hair on plate, server was rude. Check was all jumbled up and confusing. She came up to clear the table and snatched the plates up. Didn't ask us if we needed boxes or anything. Completely unprofessional and talked down about other near by restaurants as if this place was any good. The other haystax is much better!
