I'm so glad I read the reviews and chose this place. The french toast is amazing and so is the paella!

Dude what a fantastic breakfast!

Now this place was super good!!

Got the “prickly pear lemonade” & they gave me high country pink lemonade powdered mix. It was clearly light artificial pink color. Prickly pear syrup is pinkish purple color. Don’t say you’re selling prickly pear if it’s just pink lemonade. Also the beet salad dressing did nothing for the salad it was VERY plain. Not tasteful… other than that the waitress was attentive.

The Steak Saltado with Desert Sage tea was the best breakfast I've ever had in my life. I'm writing this review months later because I still think about it.

Everything was absolutely amazing! Coffee was so good the eggs Benedict was to die for. Best I’ve had even in Miami. This is a must try!

This is a hard one to review because the food was absolutely delicious, however, the service needs a ton of improvement.

We've been coming to Taos for more than 20 years and just recently discovered this gem of a restaurant. The menu has something on it for just about anybody. We had the Paella and ham/brie sandwich and the flavors were good and the portion sizes were just right. Service was friendly and prompt.

Absolutely fantastic service and food we had the eggs benedict and ancho sausage and it was to die for!! Will be back!!!

We ordered the croque madame and the brie omelette- both were very good. The service was slow and the server was kind and apologetic but inattentive.

Normally in the middle of nowhere, you won't be able to find quality food. Not here. I'm surprised by the warmth of the staff and the aroma of the food. I love this spot and the food is worth the wait. They can probably source better chicken, but it's good enough!

We enjoyed our lunch here - everything was good, but I wouldn't say great. Plenty of unique options and the food is beautifully prepared and presented, but I would not say that it tasted amazing - it was just fine/good... And as advertised in the menu it took a really long time to get our food...If ever in Taos again.... I'd probably give it another try.

Trust me. You wont go wrong eating here. Something for eveyone and everything is perfect!!

A must try..! By the happy accident of our first choice of restaurants was closed, we tried Gutiz, and it was amazing. We had French toast and the Granola-tastic bowl. The food, service and atmosphere were all 5 stars. I highly recommend it.

Great food and amazing staff. Really loved the food and the people here. Most of the dishes could also be made gluten free, even the French Toast! The Spanish Tortilla was delicious and the French Toast was a treat. We also had the Eggs Benedict which was the favorite for those of us who preferred something more savory.

From scratch deliciousness. We got two highlighted breakfast options: French toast (best I've had) and Spanish omelette. Both were phenomenal. We also got some truffles to go--also excellent.

I was really hopeful for this place. Unfortunately, it was really over hyped. I had the Brie omelet and it was only ok. Aside from the salad everything was really dry and lacking in flavor. I think everything is air fried. My boyfriend had the basic breakfast and his scrambled eggs were so dry and flavorless. not a single drop of grease, fat, butter, nothing. Even the bacon was so over cooked it was dry and flavorless. I thought the French loved butter and cheese. lol Their service was only ok. Slow and busy. We were offered ketchup and hot sauce, which would have helped the meal have moisture and flavor, but it was never delivered and we were never checked on again until I asked for the check. We might go back one more time and order completely different items to give them a chance, but I have a feeling we won't be back

Gutiz is the home of the best eggs benedict I have ever had in my life. I think about their egg's benny at least once a month (it's been 3 years) and can't wait to come back and eat it every single day I'm in Taos. Their dirty chai is also incredible. 10/10 no notes

Apparently arriving soon after the hoards, we found Gutiz out of Honey Lavender Tea and Desert Pear Lemonade, while my Green Chile Sausage Bowl made its appearance bathed in delicious RED Chile Sauce. Charming and tasty, despite it all.

There's a little phrase in Spanish known as "muy muy rico" and even "exquisito." If you're lucky enough to come to Gutiz, you'll find yourself saying both. Con frequencia! I highly recommend the vegetarian rice and veggies bowl, even if you're not vegetarian.

Brie omelette is my go to. As with most restaurants in Taos, the service isn't what it used to be. My husband had the Pepito and his bread was stale. He tried to tell the waitress but she didn't have time to listen to his response and walked away.

This restaurant was on DDD. Had to try it. Came back the next day to sample another dish. Everything was awesome! Will definitely be back!

Nice cozy restaurant and family friendly.

Dishes were thoughtfully created. Had the steak pepita and drunken chicken. Also German chocolate cake and cheesecake to go because we went a little insane. I would go back for the cake alone.

The best French toast of my life and that says a lot! Crepes are delicious too! Super friendly staff. Definitely check this hidden gem out!

Saw this restaurant was featured on DDD so off we went. We ordered the French Toast and Drunken Chicken as featured in the episode. Both are awesome and large quantities. The staff are very friendly. Highly recommend,

The host was rude and made us wait while he talked for a long time with a bus person. He sat a party who came in after us prior to seating my wife and I. We asked for water 3 times before they finally brought it to us. The food was overrated (french toast). There are much better places to eat in Taos.

We go here when we’re craving breakfast. The sandwiches and potatoes are tasty! Outdoor seating area is nice and the place is child friendly.

Recommended by a local, Gutiz is a Latin-French restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. We had Eggs Benedict, Croque Monsieur, coffee, and chickory. All were excellent. Highly recommend when you're ready for something other than a breakfast burrito or huevos rancheros.

I always have the andouille sausage bowl.....every time I go. I say "I ll try another special choice!".....I end up having the bowl.....never disappointed....

The food was great. I tried the French Toast, not a normal item for me. It was absolutely delicious. My breakfast guests enjoyed their meals too. We had no complaints. The wait staff worked hard and made the very busy establishment a good first time experience.

This Spanish-French fusion is mind-bogglingly perfect. While making almost everything from scratch, baking their own French bread daily, and blending their own sauces and dressings, this place sets the standard for excellence. We spent a weekend in Taos and had brunch here before leaving Sunday morning. We were so disappointed we didn't try it sooner, so we could come back and second and third time. But we'll definitely be back on our next visit. Both the croque monsieur and the vegetarian tartine were outstanding, but the tartine stood out the most for its explosion of unique, yet well-blended, flavors. And last, but not least, the prickly pear lemonade was delectable.

Lovely little Cafe. Great French/Latin Fusion meals that are as imaginative as they are delicious. One of my new favorites (when I can get a table 😉).

I would recommend you DONT waist your time going there. We got there before 9:30 and by 11:00 was finally told they hadn't started on our food yet. They ignored us till then. We are locals and won't be going back or even telling anyone to go either.

LEGITIMATELY the best breakfast in Taos! Baked items were delicious, the green Chile was delicious, the crepe with cheese was 10/10. Highly recommend!

Food was tasty. But slooooooow. Servers not busy, and not attentive. Had to get up to ask for things a few times. My guess is the manager doesn't train servers to offer best-in-class service. The atmosphere is generic and nothing memorable.

Food was ok, a little pricey for a breakfast. Probably will never go back.

Food was good, very pricey for a breakfast.

We had to wait THREE HOURS for our brunch! And the server forgot our drinks entirely. When we went to pay we were informed that there would be a $3 charge per person to split the check. Not a good experience :-(

Food was super good as always we ordered the simple breakfast and the eggs Benedict the host was very polite and quickly sat us although the waitress was rude and she forgot an item when I went to go get it for the table she complained I hadn’t said I wanted it before the food I told her I already received the food but that it was forgotten this isn’t the first time she’s had an issue with me here

I am not a fan of breads and sweets for breakfast, but my wife is. She had the French toast and It is very good but rich. You can get a half order. I had the Andouille sausage, but ordered it whole and not cut in half. It was moist and good. It has a good kick. I didn't give 5 stars because the pics was chock full of cucumber....doesn't belong in Pico! Overall a good place.

The vegetarian bowl was a perfect balance of sweet and salty fresh veggies. The sangria was a nice balance of fruit and wine. I highly recommend Guitz. The morning outside seating was a little too sunny and right by the road, so sitting inside may have been better.

The French Toast definitely lived up to the hype! And the Parisian Crepe was divine, definitely do not skip adding toast as a vessel for the best homemade orange marmalade, and check out one of the best tea menus I have ever seen!

Went for mother's day and waited a long time but it was worth the wait as the meal was great and so was the service.

The Spanish tortilla was outstanding. Make sure to get a side of toast. It was two giant pieces of French bread that couldn’t have been more fresh.

Double shot latte was really good. Had a steak sandwich - meat was tender, bread was good, all the ingredients inside worked well together. Potatoes were okay. Served with mayo on the side that tasted okay, did not use it sandwich was good without it. Service was friendly and fast.

First of all this is a cafe not a fancy restaurant therefore the 3 Regarding atmosphere. The food was excellent. However we could not eat it all because it was such a large portion. Another place worth going to while you're in Taos new mexico

The food was good, but our meal took a very long time. We were told when we arrived that we would have to wait 15 minutes, and it took almost an hour. Once we were seated, the service was good but extremely slow. Some might think the food was worth the wait, but I wish we had eaten somewhere else.

Excellent Eggs Benedict severs over potatoes. If you need a big breakfast, this is the move.

Visited Gutiz for breakfast and wow, what a treat! Best eggs Benedict we have ever had. Perfectly poached eggs and heavenly hollandaise, on top of perfectly roasted potatoes and ham. Hubby had their famous french toast and we left, full and happy! Will definitely be back next ski trip.
