This is the first Japanese restaurant I've been to that doesn't offer miso soup. Also, just FYI, hibachi is cooked in the kitchen, not at the tables. Those were both disappointments. The upside was that the service was very good. Food was good.

We LOVE HANA YORI - consistently delicious, amazing wait staff, owner is very sweet each and every time we're in.

The filet mignon is one of the best steaks I've had in Jacksonville....really A+. The hibachi has lots of flavor (not greasy or buttery) and the sushi is always fresh. Fantastic service, and the restaurant is clean.

Shout out to Lucy and Chef Ducky for their warm hospitality. They always greet us with smiles and ensure our dining experience is great. Everyone here is extremely friendly and attentive, making the dining experience very cozy and relaxing. Chef Ducky always makes it a point to personally come by the table to say hello and ensure the food is good, even when the place is extremely busy. No matter how our day has been, this place always cheers us up. The food is always delicious, and the prices are hard to beat. We love the filet hibachi—it’s consistently fantastic. The sushi is top-notch, and the banana tempura is a perfect dessert. We've been coming here for years and plan to keep doing so!

The food was good but I tried to give a worker a person tip who went out of there way for my table and one of the hostess snatched the tip away when I handed it to him. NOT COMING BACK!!!

Hana Yori is some of the best Japanese in jax! Everything here is top notch! I've had other Japanese steakhouses in town and nothing tastes as good as Hana Yori! All the food has amazing flavor and tastes so fresh. The atmosphere is really nice and our waitress was so sweet. I can't wait to come back!

Overpriced and lacking in flavor. I had the hibachi filet mignon and shrimp. Entrées come with clear soup, salad (ginger or ranch dressing), rice (steamed or fried) and veggies. Besides the soup and salad, everything else was bland. I had to put soy sauce on the fried rice and douse the protein in teriyaki sauce for flavor which is something that I don’t have to do at other hibachi places. Unfortunately less than an hour after leaving the restaurant, I started having severe stomach cramps. The food poisoning was horrible and lasted a few days. If I got sick from the hibachi food, I definitely would not trust their sushi. It’s safe to say I’m not going back.

Love this place and eat here regularly. Great sushi and hibachi. Never had a bad experience here in the past 5 years. Dine in or Take out.

If you have seen the show at Hibachi restaurants so many times that you know them by heart, this is the place for you. You get even better food than at the showy places, and cheaper. If you're concerned that you won't see the cook, don't worry. He makes the rounds frequently to check in with the customers, just to make sure the food meets their expectations. In my case, it exceeded expectations. The ginger and Wasabi taste homemade. And the service is exceptional.

Hana Yori has consistently been my go to for Hibachi. My first negative experience was yesterday but I’m not holding it against them. The food was a bit off and surprisingly disappointing. But like I said it was the first experience that wasn’t favorable out of years of patronage. They are moderately priced. No Miso soup or Yakisoba noodles. It is difficult to customize, I.e add shrimp to my fried rice/ I would have to order whole shrimp hibachi meal 😒, but the taste and quality is usually worth the sacrifice of personal nuances. The customer service is on point.

I am a regular for dinner I order either Lobster or filet it’s the best in town every time I go the chef is so friendly and consistent I tell anyone who loves hibachi about this place and they are always so pleased when they visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ best hibachi spot in town !!

The good-filet steak. The ok-hot sake and fried rice. The bad-soup (inedible) and salad. And “tepanyaki” done in the kitchen instead of in front of us. Oh, and we had to ask after getting the check for them to remove the charge for an extra soup that we sent back uneaten. Not going back.

First time here, the wait was long but I see why. Sushi was yummy, the hibachi had a lot of flavor . Jazz 💕 was our server she was sweet and attentive. I would recommend the white fish and shrimp. 🦐

This establishment comes highly recommended for good reason. 😍👩‍🍳The sushi ROLLS are top-notch. 🍣 While the ambiance may not be overtly romantic, it's an ideal spot for enjoying great sushi with friends, family, or that special someone. A friend took us there for the first time and we were thoroughly impressed. Seated in front of the chef’s hibachi grill it was a real treat for me (retired Executive Chef) to see Love and Skill at full display. Everything we had was superb- fresh and tastefully presented, can’t believe that we missed this gem of a restaurant. More details will follow after another visit. WG

Best sushi in Jax with an amazing staff!

It's been a struggle trying to find a good sushi place in Jacksonville. Unfortunately this place fell short! Sushi seemed pre packaged, and not fresh. Well NOT order the sushi again. The hot sake had a weird taste---- and I love authentic sake. The thing that saved this place 🙌 and will bring me back as a customer, was the steak hibachi, it was perfect! Very flavorful and seasoned perfect. Service was decent 👌

We had a party of 14. First, we were placed in a small room with bare walls and 2 tv's. I think sitting in the main dining area would have been better. Secondly, with a big party like that you would think they would have 2 waitresses or waiters to take our orders. Our waitress did what she could. When we ordered apparently they left off one of our orders and the food didn't come out until we were almost done with the food. The food was good and filled the plate. Another thing I'd I wished they updated the prices for the menu that is on their website. Would I go back, maybe.

I would leave 6 stars if I could! Not only was this THE BEST hibachi I have ever had, it might be one of the best meals I have ever had. Hats off to the chefs. Absolutely incredible.

Hana yori is the only place we go to for sushi and hibachi. We have been going here for years. The prices are great and the food and service are awesome. Love,love this place. You all need to check them out.

The place is always packed so be prepared to wait around 20-40 minutes but the food never disappoints. If you love spicy sauce they can make custom ones ranging from 1-50 just ask for the number when ordering. It's a great pairing with any of the hibachi meals. Atmosphere here is great along with the overall aesthetics. Family safe environment and friendly service.

What a gem of a place, so glad we gave them a try. I love Lil mom and pop shops like Hana Yori. Awesome service, Tanya our waitress was fabulous. Very attentive, helpful, and sweet. We were craving sushi, and they nailed it. We split 4 rolls and a scallops and shrimp hibachi dish..phenomenal! Great Japanese food, and at a good price.. The atmosphere is mellow and comfortable, casual dress type place, the place itself is kinda quaint but I really love how they decorate their walls. They are completely covered with little wood tiles, that the guest themselves decorate. Really cool, and entertaining to read while waiting for your food. I'm gonna have to go back just to decorate one, because they were out of the wood tiles when we dined in. All good,gives me a reason to go back and get some more sushi and hibachi. If your into Japanese food, don't miss this place...ask for Tanya.

This places is rated highly for a reason. The sushi is great. The restaurant is nice but I wouldn't say it's romantic but it is a great place to go with friends, family or that special someone to enjoy great sushi. I went 2 times in a week after discovering it on trip advisor. Enjoy!!

Lowkey one of the best restaurants in Jacksonville. The food is incredible and the staff are some of the friendliest people ever. They also have football on on Sundays!

Hana Yori is a not-well-kept secret. One of my favorite places to eat in Jacksonville ! If you can get in. It's usually slammed from open to close. Whenever I return for a visit this is always a must visit . The food is not only fresh, but well selected and well prepared. The owner pays great attention to the details of what he buys and serves and will occasionally take a moment away from the hibachi grill to chat with customers, not so much since covid tho , which is kind of a shame, but understandable. We usually start with hot saki and order the soup without scallions. Extra ginger dressing for the salad please. The dressing is made in-house and I have not been able to find anything even close to this flavor out of a bottle for much more money, so I have resorted to just buying as much as they will sell me, everytime I visit. Usually enough for a few salads. The shrimp are just amazing, grilled or fried. They just taste so fresh. Everything here tastes so fresh! Bon apetit !

Best Japanese steakhouse in the city

This place is a must go for sushi and hibachi, one of the best in Jacksonville. Get filet mignon medium, you cant go wrong and get the house spicy sauce. Sushi is fresh and they have unique rolls. Prices have gone up, but it's always packed because the food and service is always good. Definitely a must go, we come here often.

Staff was friendly. Sashimi, salad and tempura was average. I won’t go here for an authentic Japanese sashimi. Didn’t try the grills though. That’s what the high ratings are for

Excellent food at a great price paired nicely with a Friendly and Professional Staff! Every time that I go to Hana Yori I know that I will be having a great experience as the chef remembers you and asks about how you have been and is always happy to see you come back, the food which is phenomenal and very unique fill you up nicely, this is the go to Japanese restaurant in Jacksonville Florida. I am happy to say that I am a regular at Hana Yori.

Great service and tasty food. It’s not that fancy but the service was great and we enjoyed the hibachi.

Hibachi shrimp & filet mignon. Fried rice seemed undercooked and not much flavor. Steak and shrimp were cooked properly but over seasoned for my taste. Vegetables were over cooked. Portions were generous but still in my opinion not worth the price. Very nice clean place and our server was prompt and courteous. I have experienced better food at more reasonable prices elsewhere.

I don't think I have ever left a review for a restaurant until now. I lived in Japan for roughly a year and a half (which is where I discovered my love for hibachi). I can safely say that Hana Yori beats any real Japanese hibachi I have ever had, including those made with Wagyu beef. Hana Yori is by far my favorite restaurant in Jacksonville, and quite possibly the world. I always get the filet/chicken combo. Service is always on point and employees treat you like family. This place is truly the best.

I would have given this restaurant a 5 star in the past but our last two visits have not been at that rate. Last visit 5 days ago we were there and the service was sub par to what it use to be. We had to ask for things multiple times such as gluten free soy, utensils, they forgot my wife's chicken part of her entree. The server also was trying to take my plate of sushi before I was finished. To top it all off they charged me for my wife's salad that actually came with the meal. The visit we had at the beginning of November was a total disaster they brought out all of the food for myself and the couple we were having dinner with and totally forgot to put in my wife's order then they said she had to wait because they had to go orders ahead of her. Not Good. I always get sushi hard to mess that up. My wife gets steak and chicken and she said the quality was terrible. Both times she did not eat much of her meal. My wife after the second time of this happening asked that we don't come back. The only reason I gave them 3 stars and not 2 is because it use to be awesome.

My son brought me here, its aregulars ofor him.ll He has the sushi bar and he loves it, I had the teriyaki steak, very favorable and excellent. Plenty of vegetables and rice to go with, service was prompt and courteous. This will be a regular stop when I am on this side of town.

Had a group reservation for 10 for a birthday party and they handled it wonderfully. No wait for the table, all the food was timely and fresh and the place had a great, friendly vibe. Shout out to the waitress, I think her name was Nicole? Didn't get overwhelmed by the group. Definitely worth a try for everyone who loves hibachi with friends

From the minute we walked in the door we had such a great experience. Really well taken care of by the wait staff, They were always checking up on us and even just gave a smile when they walked by. The sushi was amazing it's amazing the 2 of us split 3 rolls several single pieces and the steam dumplings. Everything had great flavors very eye appealing, Portion size were perfect. Definitely a place will be visiting often you need to get yourself there and check it out.

My first time here. The service was great and the food was awesome!

Everything was good! Clear broth made with beef. Different. Cucumber salad was a beautiful tower, it was wonderful. Salad with ginger dressing was ice cold and awesome. I had beef and chicken teriyaki combo hubby had steak and scallops both light and excellent. Will be back! Disappointed that two of our Japanese favorites were not on the menu such as tonkatsu and negamaki.

Great food and service as always.

We travel 30 minutes to eat here as it is SO GOOD! Staff is gracious and cheerful. The sushi is made from the freshest ingredients. We usually sit right in front of the sushi counter and the grill and there is never a whiff of a fishy smell. It is so fresh. The servings are generous. Try the filet and shrimp. Best filet I have ever had. It melts in your mouth. Portions are generous. Give it a try. You will not regret it!

My family and I went here because it was highly recommended. We were so glad we did! Prices are great, portions are large, waitstaff was so kind and helpful, and we had a very short wait time even though this place was packed when we got there! This sushi was incredible and so delicious! We had the Lava, Dragon, Russian Silk, and a Custom roll all in Soy Wraps. The Russian Silk was the best of the 3 house rolls. We also had the steamed dumplings (so tender!) and the soup. We loved everything! Our waitress was so pleasant and her timing was perfect! All of the staff told us bye when we were leaving and were genuinely happy to see us. You will not be disappointed!

Very disappointed today. Been a customer for over more than 8 years. Come here literally almost every weekend. But order was a mess. It was placed more than 1.5 hr in advance. However order had a mistake. Which I don’t mind i understand the difficult times we live in. However upon requesting to help expedite the order I am being told that we are really busy and extremely busy. I not only have to come back to pickup the order and now have to wait Usually I would think that they would do everything to help squeeze in one hibachi. Unfortunately we love this place too much but now starting to see the difference in quality. We will give it a try one more time but honestly being my fav restaurant it is why I am giving one more try otherwise I would not come here due to the service I had received today. Having to go back to pickup the order and than being told we are too busy than something I am missing here
