My fav sushi place on the westside!!!!

Love coming here! Always fresh and customer service is top notch!

This place is ok. The food isn't anything special. I was disappointed that they didn't have tofu. Also, the floors are slippery. Staff was putting what looked like sand on the floor, I could only assume so that it wouldn't be as slick.

I’ve been to Sushi Bear a few times; always a good time. From the atmosphere, to the service plus the food = a win 💫

The food is incredible. Sushi was great. Service was ok. Floor was slippery for some reason. They were putting salt on the floor to make it less slippery.

Love the food, bit hibachi portions have gone down so much, and it's been last 2 times I order dinner entree and they give me lunch portions. Too much money for thst value. Last time I added filet mignon 40 and first times 25 dollars no extra and I jad way more regular steak and chicken. It saddens me

Great, great, great. I came here for lunch and ordered the house roll. We got complementary clear soup and an appetizer. Everything was amazing! Best sushi restaurant in Jacksonville that I’ve been to so far 🥳

Reasonable price for good sushi.

From the moment I stepped in I was greeted and immediately escorted to my seat. Upon sitting down the waitress was attentive and patient. Upon waiting to take our order she came back with soup and asked what type of dressing we would like. I went with the ginger dressing if you know it is made in house. After placing the order the food came out immediately and there was others there enjoying themselves for dinner capacity was at 65%. The food came out hot and fresh and enough for two to three service on one plate. This is a hidden gem you must go you will go back and tell others about it. The sushi was also awesome!

Best sushi in Jacksonville!! We enjoyed the time here. They have the conch sashimi which is very fresh and delicious. I really appreciate their very welcoming culture by providing Philadelphia roll while we have to wait for our food. Staff is friendly. Everything is so fresh and creative. Been here at least 10 times but they have never failed me once.

Today was my third and last visit for take-out. The prices increased from one week ago. The person on the phone that took the order was rude as well as the person at the counter. He told me to have a seat and never checked the bag on the counter which was actually my take out order. I had to wait for someone else to come up front and give me my take out bag. The last straw was putting my change on the counter when I placed the money in your hand. Goodbye and taking my money and business to another Hibachi restaurant!

This is by far, my personal favorite sushi restaurant in jax, I haven't been to every sushi place, but I have been to a lot and this place is just amazing, fresh and great atmosphere.

Genuinely stellar service, kindest staff and delicious food. A lengthy review is not needed. If you’re looking for sushi/asian food then do yourself a favor and come here. DO IT!

The veggies weren't cooked, the noodles were not good or seasoned, and the fried rice needed some Seasoning.... everything else was hot and fresh...tight inside it's a small place to have a birthday dinner

Ran upon this gem after our last sushi place wasn’t open. Let me tell you from the time I walked in until I left the service was top notch. The food was amazing the absolute best I’ve had. I highly recommend the filet mignon and shrimp it was cooked to perfection i usually skip the veggies because I never get them like I want them but these are perfect. If you are up for dessert definitely try the Moose cake you won’t be disappointed.

We loooove Sushi Bear! The staff is wonderful, polite and attentive. The sushi is the best we’ve had in JAX. This is the second time they’ve surprised us with a boat (we didn’t order the boat, just a bunch of rolls) and they take care to make them so beautifully arranged - lights and all! So glad we live so close to Sushi Bear, but if we didn’t it would be worth a drive.

I used to love their sushi but the consistency is really lacking. I hate krabstick and NEVER order it. Today I ordered the Fancy Q Roll which does not have krabstick anywhere in the description. Yet the rolls I received had krabstick in the middle, rather than the avocado and spicy tuna, as shown in the picture AND item description. Last time I ordered, they sent all krabstick rolls in place of my actual order. I am not sure what is going on lately but it really sucks paying for one thing and getting another.

We were served miso soup immediately upon being seated.. It was watery and tasteless. The salad with the traditional Chinese ginger dressing was also bland with little taste. We ordered the sushi bear love boat. It was fine. Nothing special. The fish was mediocre. The ginger was sitting in water and had an off taste. We didn't use it. The service was good.

Sent out my order wrong, and refused to send me a new order. They insisted I come pick up my order remake after I already paid an $8 service fee, $10 tip, and an $8 delivery fee. Why in the fresh hell would I drive there to spend my gas after spending 26 DOLLARS IN DELIVERY FEES??????? Are yall psychotic?? Never ordering from again.

I don't like to give 5 stars for anything, but I'll describe it this way... For the price and location, this place was excellent! I've had better food. I've had better service. And I've had better atmosphere. But... For 3 or 4 times the price. Our food was actually sushi and sashimi, not just slabs of fish on a plate. It was beautifully presented on ice with nettles and orchids. We sampled a house roll along with fresh edamame. We shared the Sashimi deluxe (all fresh and flavorful) and added some Unagi Sushi and Masago Sashimi. I think their wasabi and ginger garnishes are either prepared in-house or a better provider than most. Both excellent. I think we had 3 different staff constantly checking that we were ok. We finished with their Mochi Ice Cream, which we also loved. It is great to find a reasonably priced food outlet that can still deliver great food, service and surroundings. We'll done! We will be back.

I’m not sure what happened here or if there was a management change but it was awful. Our menus were covered in sticky goo, the water glasses were dirty, they gave my wife the wrong salad and the worst part was the sushi deluxe was Warm! Its raw fish over rice so that was like eating a warm slug.. I just couldn’t do it after that. It’s a real shame because this used to be a local favorite.

I ordered scallop hibachi and the spicy roll combo. Absolutely Delicious. Best hibachi I’ve had in Jacksonville. The portion sizes are great and the fried rice is bomb!! The sushi is fresh and they actually use sushi rice .

This is the best place I’ve ever eaten! I’ve been here several times. They are very gluten friendly. My girlfriend cannot eat gluten and they always make accommodations for her. The food is phenomenal! They give you a complimentary clear soup and small roll. The prices are also really good! Also my friend got teriyaki sauce on their white shirt and a server came over with a cleaning pen and cleaned their shirt! This place is honestly the best restaurant I’ve ever been to.

We sat at the bar. The chefs are top notch and friendly,service amazing, presentation fantastic, but the best part was how creative and fresh the dishes were. This is not frozen fish. Sashimi melts in your mouth, zero odor, smooth. Seriously a Vegas level restaurant for half the price. Fantastic cold sake. Highly recommended!

I’m a foodie, and truthfully it’s hard for me to be so impressed that I just straight to Google to leave a review. However this place is a GEM!!! Best sushi AND hibachi I’ve tried, like how are you this good at BOTH?!?! On top of that the service and hospitality is top notch and the feel of the restaurant is super mellow and low pace. It’s a must try if you’re coming to Jax.

They give you a LOT of food and their hibachi is the best hands down they use real chicken and fresh veggies! Highly recommended

We went in for lunch and were immediately seated, drink order taken, and within seconds the server returned with soup as well. While we ordered they brought out a free hot crab appetizer that was delicious. Keep in mind, this all happened in the first 3 minutes of LUNCH. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and the 3 roll lunch special ($14.95) each came with soup and salad. I would add the ginger dressing is terrible, the very orange kind. The meal took less than ten minutes to prepare. The chicken teriyaki was a solid lunch portion with a good ratio of chicken to veggies. The fried rice was brown, not yellow, always a good sign. The sushi was super fresh and as you can see the plating was even well thought out. Top notch experience, couldn't believe it was lunch service. Check it out!

My daughter and I go here often. The staff are always nice and helpful. The last time I visited, I couldn't remember the names of the rolls I ordered. I showed them the picture I had in my phone of what I had that day, and they knew exactly what it was.

Service was great, food was too. Complimentary sushi and soup served when seated. Orders came out fast, food was good and tasted fresh. Prices are good. We will return.

I went on a Sunday afternoon. It looked a little busy. I sat almost immediately. The service was great because everyone in the restaurant communicated with each other and made sure that anyone needing service was handled in a timely manner. They even gave me complimentary food. Enough for one person, but I didn't think restaurants did that. That was chips and salsa. Overall taste of the food was amazing. I only ordered sushi

The sushi was fresh and delicious! I particularly enjoyed the black dragon roll and the rainbow roll. Our group asked if they could serve our order on a boat, they not only agreed but took the time to add extra decorations to make it look even more amazing. We will definitely go back.

This is my favorite place to eat. They are so kind and if they do make a mistake because everyone makes mistakes. They always make it right. The waiters are always going to be asking how the food is asking if you need a refill never being lazy like other Sushi chains I have been to. If you want good sushi eat here❤️

Nice sushi and great atmosphere

I'm not sure there's enough words to describe how satisfied we were with our experience here. We had gotten off a cruise earlier in the day and were making the long drive home. Wifey wanted Japanese. I didn't want to wait for four hours so I told her to look up some place close. She found it quickly so we got off the highway and made our way. We were immediately greeted with a smile and our server could not have been nicer. We were exhausted and we're not heavy eaters so we didn't want a lot of food. We told her we just came from a cruise and were just wanting something simple to share. She assured us the chicken hibachi would be more than enough. They quickly brought out soup which was great. Then they surprised us with complimentary sushi, which was excellent. And very quickly we had our dinner. It truly was more than enough for us to share. Every bit of the food there was wicked good. The service was great and we were beyond happy to have found it so randomly. The next time we drive through, we will definitely be stopping in again.

We went here after church. There was a group of about 10 of us, including children. It was the first time my daughter and I had been there. We were able to be seated as soon as we arrived. The table that we sat at gave us the availability to watch the football game on the televisions hanging over the serving area. Right away, our drink orders were taken. Once we received our drinks, soup was served. While we enjoyed our soup, we placed our sushi orders. I ordered the spicy crab roll. Pretty much everyone ordered sushi. Next, they took our food orders. My daughter and I ordered the steak and chicken with fried rice instead of noodles. The food is served in large portions. We also had a salad with either ginger or ranch dressing ( my daughter and I had ginger). Our drinks were refilled before they were completely empty. We received complimentary peas that were served with a hint of salt, steamed. They were steaming hot and delicious. We received those while waiting for our food. We also received a complimentary dessert. It was so good. I love chocolate, and it tasted like coffee. The sushi is delicious. We had a large boat for the sushi everyone ordered. It was a wooden boat, it was really cute.There were multiple servers that all made sure we were well taken care of. They filled every request (forks, special chop sticks, and such). It was a beautiful experience! I really enjoyed myself. I highly recommend stopping by!

My hubby and I went to Sushi Bear for the first time last night for our anniversary and it was such a great experience! Everyone was so nice and attentive. Our server brought over edamame and said it was on the house. It was our first time trying edamame and now it’s going to be a must order. Someone else brought us clear soup and a small roll to try for free. We were like woah this is so nice of them! We got a sushi boat and it was delicious 🤤 My husband got Kirin beer and I tried the cold Coconut Lemongrass sake and oh my… so good. We also got the tempura ice cream and it was yummy. This is going to be our new date spot. The service alone was so amazing. I highly recommend trying it.
