I believe that the food could have been phenomenal however it was all delivered cold. The waitress did mention that the kitchen staff was way overbooked however it was disappointing for the price to have cold food and little attention from the waitress as far as empty drinks etc.

Georgia made us some amazing margaritas last night. Had to come back again tonight for same drinks and food. Cece was our server. She made some wonderful suggestions. We had crab cakes for an appetizer. I had blackened mahi sandwich thick and tender amazing! Husband had crawfish Étouffée. Omg! First time I’ve had this. Delicious!! We will definitely be back.

Hostess estimated 30-35 min to seat, I had to check in twice after 40min to ensure we were in the queue for a table. Finally was seated at 55min. Food was great, place was packed, waitstaff worked hard. Definitely recommend for good Cajun food.

Harry's never disappoints. Food was fantastic and I am a food snob. Blackened mahai and coleslaw absolutely delicious. Georia our sever was outstanding as was the other staff.

The food was good. I ordered jambalaya, which had a thick sauce. My wife had their salmon with rice and greens The service? Yeah.... not so much. Our server didn't check on us at all. And when we flagged her down for something, she seemed rather annoyed.

The service was very good and relatively fast, all the waitstaff were kind, and the food was delicious (I ordered the crawfish étouffée).

The food was very good, and they have a lot of favorite New Orleans dishes that are very comforting and hearty, however still a little off from anything you would get in Nola. While everything tasted good, little details such as flavoring and the fried green tomatoes being too deep fried set it apart, but it is definitely still worth a try, and has some good dishes.

If you want to give yourself a culinary treat go have the French market scallops at Harry's

Harry's doesn't disappoint!!! Great service and food at reasonable prices. The calamari and Chicken Joulie was awesome. Make sure you ask for the UF discount for honor students.

We were greeted and seated quickly. The server was promptly at our table answered menu questions. We ordered andoulle crusted grouper and shrimp and grits. Both were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Harry's.

Good food and large portions. But they quit filling our water glasses to get us to move along. That's not nice!

I enjoy this place and I always leave satisfied with their food. Its one of those places I visit where I am either craving seafood entrees or the surrounding restaurants are too busy.

We were at Harry's to celebrate a birthday. We ordered the Boudin balls appetizer and they were raw. When the manager came over to deliver the new order, he couldn't be bothered to apologize and implied that we were in the wrong for sending back raw food. The rest of the food was just okay, and not up to the standards of the other Harry's locations that we've been to.

Food is consistently prepared. Delicious! Savannah is a great waitress. We ask for her every time we go there. They have a great deal on gift cards through the end of the month. I love you using their $10 off coupons as well. Parking can be a bit challenging right now due to some construction and reorganizing of the parking spots.

The family had a great dinner experience at Harry's. Booth seating is comfy and overall ambience is inviting. Service is top notch and friendly. Food is tasty and satisfying. We had the tuna and grouper appetizers with grouper, jambalaya, mahi, and pasta dinners. Excellent!

My fish tasted spoiled. They replaced it with more but it tasted the same. My wife's shrimp was acceptable but we've had better.

Crab cakes were fantastic, as were the collard greens!

Very inconvenient if you want to place an order to go. Harry’s has no place to park if you’re just picking up food. And they will not bring it out to you. We had to park in the garage, walk to Harry’s, go inside to get the food, walk back to the garage, and pay for parking.

If you are watching your salt intake this is not the place to eat yet the desserts are good & the drinks are pretty good.

We eat here often and as usual excellent food and service. The Jambalaya was to die for. We also had the blackened redfish which was cooked perfectly. Lastly I had the Mahi arugula which was equally as good. Great job Harry's!

Our server was great, I wish I could remember her name. Food was good and didn't take too long. She crab soup was sweet, which I wasn't expecting but it was still good. Shrimp tacos were very good and my mom enjoyed her shrimp and scallop Orleans as well.

Great food and service. 1st time at Harry's and very impressive. Bourbon glazed Salmon is a must. I never order this out, but a friend di, and it was very delightful.

The Pasta Chicken Louisianne and Oreo Beignets were awesome! Highly recommend.

I had the blackened mahi fish tacos and the smashed mashed potatoes. It was scrumptious. The waiter was really excellent as well. Trapped at the airport. Took a bus downtown to get a nice meal . Good idea!

Our server Andrew was far he best professional server we've had, very professional, courteous and just overall nice. The food here was awesome the nolo rice, coleslaw was to die for, the steak was very tasty, my shrimp platter was fresh and good and not to mention the Pina colada. I forgot to take pictures sorry

I may be partial but I find Harrys to be one of my favorite restaurants and the Gainesville location was very good as well. Normally I would have gave it a 5 star unfortunately to no fault of Harrys but they were working on the what I assume would have been the public sidewalk and it was a bit noisy and unsightly. I feel they will finish soon and this location will be back to a 5 star soon.

The red beans and rice , grouper bites, jumbo and the white rice, was not up to par today. I drove from Jacksonville FL and was very disappointed today. I hope this does not continue. The service was great as always.

Everything about Harry's was delightful. I love the building and decor as it has a New Orleans feel and the building is in downtown in the heart of the city. I had the French Market Pasta with chicken, shrimp, and spinach in a wonderful sauce. Just a hint of spice made this dish perfect and there was ample shrimp and chicken throughout the dish. The only improvement for the dish that I would suggest is to add a piping hot breadstick or two. I was extremely hungry when I started and I could barely finish. This would normally be a good meal and lunch the next day. People sitting next to me had the shrimp and grits while another person had the beef tenderloin medallions and raved about the meal the whole time. Fidel was a very gracious host behind the bar.

I had been to Harry's in St Augustine. This was my first visit to the Gainesville Harry's. It was as pleasantly wonderful!

So it hasn't rained in Gainesville for a month and now we can't leave Harry's because of evening downpour. The food is good here though. Very nice seared tuna with accomplishments. Dinner for two was $63 and Tuesday is the happy hour reduced drinks and starters

Never have I ever had food as phenomenal! This place was AMAZING!!! Our server was great! We took leftovers and I scraped the box clean last night! I skipped breakfast this morning so I can go back for lunch today. I am taking dinner to the fam back in Jacksonville! I wish I lived here, just for the food! Please come back to Jax!!

Love the old timey vibe with attentive staff…though a certain half asleep blonde hostess was anything but welcoming. Enjoyed a super delicious Shrimp & Crab Remoulade Dinner salad. Yum. The Crab Crusted Redfish Royale was just as good. Bananas foster for dessert raised the question: were the bananas sautéed? No, though it was still was very good. Still overall it’s an excellent choice in Gainesville!

If I could give Harry's 6 stars, I would. I have come twice, and both times have had such a great experience. The seafood fondeaux is to die for, and has been perfect both times I have had it. I was impressed by the sweet corn grits side dish, and the crab stuffed redfish was really good! The étouffée was decent, the first time I had it was better than the most recent, but overall great food! Love sitting outside/patio seating.

The food was worth the price as the portions were large. Overall, it was a really amazing experience. The service was a little slow but the food was well worth the wait.

Tried Harry’s for the first time and loved it! We sat an outside table with our pooch and Joey was our friendly and attentive waiter. The fried green tomatoes were the best I’ve ever had! Great crust with a mildly spicy aioli. Also tried the scallops and shrimp with grits and collard greens. Great spicy flavor, authentic New Orleans taste. The Oreo beignets were very sweet. Only needed one, but you get 5. We definitely had take home boxes as the servings are generous. Drinks were amazing too! Happy hour is until 7 daily. $8 for a delicious patron margarita is such a great deal!

It's under construction outside the building the only time i will give 5 Stars everything has to exceed my expectations although everything was good but didn't exceed my expectations for the price

We went for dinner on May 18, 2024. When we asked some questions about the menu items our waiter said he was new and really didn’t know the menu that well. Drinks were slow to arrive. When one of our group ordered the baked crabmeat stuffed shrimp the waiter asked how they wanted it cooked? Confused, we asked what our options were. The menu says it’s baked. He said he would ask the chef for his recommendation? Not sure what that meant but it turned out the food was outstanding. Will definitely go back but ask for a different server.

Average food, poor service, clean restaurant, a bit pricey. The food was served hot and with good presentation. The quality and taste were average. I had two issues. The first was that our primary contact was a trainee who couldn't answer any of our questions, which constantly delayed our service because he would disappear each time, only to return several minutes later with a server. Also, the trainer was more interested in teaching the trainee than serving the customer. Very long, drawn out, inattentive service. The second issue was that I ordered the calamari appetizer and what I got was only a half plate of calamari and the other half was fried green beans! I'd never ordered or wanted the fried vegetables. It was just false advertisement / used to just fill up the plate. Will never eat here again

Great seafood in the heart of Gainesville!

Frozen shrimp from Taiwan, Instant grits, frozen calamari, dishes full of grease and oil, and andoui sausage was just plan old tasteless sausage. Would never spend my hard earned money here again. It's very unfortunate, because it's a great location, atmosphere, and service.

We were celebrating my son's birthday with his family as well as one of my best friends husbands birthdays. We didn't realize it was graduation at UF. Harry's was packed, but we were treated so personally and taking care of from the moment we walked through the door. It was our waiter's first night. He was so calm and professional and did an exceptional job of serving us. I haven't been to Harry's seafood in a while but we will definitely all be back! Even my grandsons loved the food...

Great Server, William. We were early for dinner menu. The dish we wanted was a dinner entree , but William asked the kitchen, and they made it for us. Food was terrific 😋. Sauted scallops in cheese sauce. NOT shrimp and scallops!! Beautiful interior and view of town.

Cool restaurant, good was very good. A good restaurant to visit in downtown Gainesville and cool that it use to be an old opera house.

Great service. Fun atmosphere. Food was delicious. Margherita were yummy. Mahi Mahi, collard greens, delicious fresh baked bread with garlic butter. Key lime pie was authentic and homemade, not out of a box.

So Harry’s in downtown Gainesville believes it’s their decision on what is of value when guests leave their belongings. A month ago they threw away my jewelry, including my great grandmother’s ring. They have lied through their teeth, to me and to corporate, and have not offered a single reimbursement besides “gift certificates to eat there.” (they never actually offered that to me, just told their corporate office that they did). When I said I have no want to eat there again, and the least they can do is refund my meal cost, the Vice President of the company responded with “well you have my number if you need anything”. So unless you want to eat mediocre food and have them “dispose” of their belongings because they believe “it was of no value” DO NOT EAT THERE.

Harry's in Gainesville serves up delicious food with flavors that hit the spot every time. However, the service could use some improvement to match the quality of the cuisine. Overall, a tasty dining experience with potential for even greater enjoyment with better service.

Traveling through, found this very nice location for dinner. Great meal. Cajun seared Tuna. Cooked perfectly. My waitress Kaylee(sic) was wonderful. The beer, nice and cold. They could use a little larger selection of beers. Parking is an issue on the square.

What a delicious variety of items on the lunch and dinner menu. From a grilled chicken sandwich to the red beans and rice, it’s all good. So yummy!

Comfortable restaurant, the food was 4 out of 5. Blayne, our server, was really great. He was friendly, professional, efficient, and attentive. Fat Tuesday drink and appetizer specials were great. Overall, it was a nice experience.

I'm from the New Orleans area and I'm so happy I've finally found some seafood done right in the Gainesville area! The crab cakes were some of the best I've ever had. We enjoyed the outside dining on a beautiful day. We'll be back!!

I don’t typically leave reviews but I have to say how fantastic this spot was! We ended up here on accident and what a great place! Food was incredible. I had the crab cakes and side of grit cakes. Phenomenal! My daughter had chicken tendies bc #teenagers but she said they were delicious! Our server Carson was wonderful, attentive and friendly. 5 stars!

We walked in at 7 and luckily they were able to seat us right away. Our waitress, Brooke, was very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Redfish Royale and it was amazing!! Thank you for the great service and recommendations, Brooke!!

Good and service were great as always but we signed up for the waiting list for outside seating. 1.25 hours later we discovered that everyone else was being seated outside but we had to sign up again. Everything was ok. We sat inside and enjoyed a nice dinner anyway.

Brandon did a great job taking care of our party of 6 (5 adults and a 6 year old). He was very polite and accommodating. Food was awesome as usual! (It was a little slow coming out but, they had a full house and it was the middle of universal feeding time on a Friday). Great job!

Food never disappoints! Great service! You'd be hard pressed to find fresh high quality food like this anywhere else in town & no where else with authentic New Orleans style. The general manger came by our table to ensure our experience was going well & made new regulars out of us! We will be returning soon!
