I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is amazing and I love the fact that there is a sink for you to wash your hands after you eat. My go to spot at least once a week, if not more ☺️.

I am vegan and their vegan burnt ends are delicious. I usually get them as a quesadilla and take a pound home. The employees are so friendly and polite. I just wish there was one in citrus county florida. Maybe one day

Small wait at the beginning but soooo worth a wait. The meat was so tender and juicy and the smoked turkey was brilliantly smoked well, great Smokey flavor and all the sides had amazing flavor and cook well. If you haven’t been yet clear out a spot on your calendar and get to it you will not be disappointed

Just horrible...ordered delivery just now, gets here and missing almost everything. Just got some containers of meat..missing ALL the sides...

Or delivery wait for one hour it gets here and everything is missing. All we have is a couple containers full of meat. There’s no sides. There’s no sauces. There’s nothing…. you try to call them and guess what they don’t have a phone number. It’s some one 800 number that never connects to an actual human being… so we’re sitting here with basically nothing and we just wasted $80

This place is a little far for us (38 miles), but it was worth the trip. The service was great, the wait time was minimal, and the food was some of the best bbq we have had in a while. Killer burnt ends🤎🤎

First time trying 4 Rivers. I've had Sonny's, Pearl in Micanopy, Top Hog, and Dickey's "fast food" style Texas BBQ (RIP), and this place's offerings are solid. Ordered a half pound of smoked turkey along with a burnt ends beef brisket and pork lunch with mac and cheese and slaw, and a pint of beans. Upon arrival I totally missed the signs pointing to the takeout window, in part because there was a line out the door here roughly 1pm on a Saturday, good sign. Spacious dining room inside with appealing, smokey BBQ aromas from the kitchen. Props to the polite cashier who pointed out the pickup area which again I inexplicably missed... Anyway, smoked turkey was glistening, moist and delicious with rich smokey flavor, best item all told. Burnt ends were tossed in 4 Rivers BBQ sauce, which with its mix of spices including tumeric, cayenne, thyme, tamarind, and allspice. Portion size for the meat was smallish, but quite tasty, though next time I'll likely order sauce on the side to better enjoy the smoke flavor that infused the turkey. The baked cheese grits were... interesting. The brownie-like square had grain coarseness that immediately reminded me of cornbread, just with cheese baked in. Sort of a cornbread / cheese grits hybrid with desirable elements of both but just a bit lacking in the cheese and moisture department, a bit dry. With the beans I was missing molasses as many other places include, and they were a bit soupy though very flavorful, complete with bits of meat to add to the flavor overall. Not quite the full pint I'd ordered, no big deal but I favor accuracy and tip accordingly. Mac and cheese was decent, not baked or particularly outstanding but good. Slaw was your average Southern-style, though KFC's generic though consistent slaw is frankly, on a good day, superior. Versus the local competition, Pearl is a cut above for their meats sans sauce, portion sizes still generous though with bumped up prices, and their cheese grits, baked beans, and baked mac and cheese. Their garlicky oil and vinegar-based Carolina style slaw is unique in the area as well. Top Hog's turkey is comparable, neck-and-neck in terms of cost and deliciousness. However, Top Hog's mac and cheese wins because it's not just extra saucy upon request but gouda based, though not baked. Sonny's, I'll advise later, it's literally been years since I've enjoyed BBQ from them and I literally have a coupon from them ca. 2006 to redeem for some sketchy service back then. Dickey's BBQ, no contest, and perhaps they've realized given they jumped ship and left Gainesville altogether with their comparatively lowest-bar, plain, can to table offerings. Will definitely be back, and I look forward to trying more from 4 Rivers' expansive, interesting menu!

Terrible portion size on the brisket for the 2x2 platter. Paid a upcharge for 2 slices of meat. Ridiculous, this is not $20 worth of meat.

My husband and I were suppose to have a date night at Chilies. We waited out front for 10 minutes to be seated before deciding to leave. When we left, we saw all the employees out back smoking and laughing. Thank goodness we decided to go to 4 Rivers! Super fast service, we spent less money for better food, and it was delicious. I will definitely be coming back.

4 Rivers never disappoints. They have excellent bbq. Pulled pork and burnt ends are my favorites. Baked beans are the best. Bread pudding is another good one. The bottled root beer is awesome, the one that says Maine. Service is friendly. Best BBQ in town.

This is hands down my favorite barbecue place. The brisket is incredible and their barbecue sauce is unmatched. On my most recent visit they had originally gotten my order wrong, but they compensated me with a free side of fries which made my experience even better than if they gotten it right. If you like to try less traditional options, I highly recommend their barbecue tacos!

I love some bbq and anytime that I travel, I love to find a good bbq place. 4Rivers did not disappoint! I got the brisket sandwich and French fries. The meat was tender, juicy, cooked to perfection! The fries were extra crispy; but not overcooked. The staff was friendly, and efficient; the order was taken and ready quickly. There was plenty of choices on the menu and very reasonably priced. The restaurant was very spacious and clean. I can't wait to go back!

I absolutely love this Florida chain. The food is always consistently delicious and flavorful. This location was very clean and had a cool local vibe going on. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. My go to meal is the black angus brisket sandwich with baked beans as both sides along with a half pound of Texas sausage for later. I’ve tried over 3/4 of the money and have yet to find anything that was delicious. I also really enjoy the cheer wine in the soda machine. If you’re reading this and looking for somewhere to eat…just hit the directions button and go get you some. You won’t regret it.

So I had the 1x2 platter with the brisket, fried ocra, and bread pudding. Brisket: So I've never had brisket before, but I found it to be very tender and easy to cut with a plastic knife however it was extremely bland. It didn't really have any flavor, not even the seared bits. Ocra: really good!! I love fried ocra and the breading on this is very flavorful and just perfect Pudding: tasty and I didn't even mind the raisins which I absolutely detest normally. Not too sweet but not bland either, really good balance

Cold food and microwave mac... Service was on point after but when not busy should not be.

Food was over priced and simply wasn't good. Brisket was over smoked. Shredded chicken was awful. The collards had far too much vinegar. The Mac and cheese was like Kraft out of the box. The corn bread was good and the lemonade was also good. Won't return and wouldn't recommend it. Nice atmosphere and lovely employees. Was disappointing.

Well I can post when I'm unhappy which is most of the time with the way servi e is in all businesses BUT this is the 3rd 4 rivers restaurant I've been to and everyone has been amazing. Today I had the tacos yes tacos from a bbq place and they were everything I could hope for. Very very good Now let's not forget the service Hands down perfect everyone was very polite and helpful. 4rivers is definitely on top

Pretty good BBQ, very nice location and service. Great desserts!!! Remarkably clean throughout. The real standout here are the desserts - rich, decadent, and not small. All in all, a really well run restaurant.

I want to start by saying I’m not the type of person that leaves reviews but the way I was treated here was spectacular specially by Brandi, Angie, and Megan They were so sweet with me and so patient even going as far as helping me pick out what I might like out of the menu. The food was great. The service was amazing definitely would recommend and these three individuals that help me out had such great attitude about. Thanks greatly appreciate it.

All I say is WOW! Stopped by this location on the way down from GA and not only was the food great (as always) but the service provided was outstanding. My wife left her phone at the restaurant and Joseph, the assistant GM was kind enough to have the phone shipped to us. When setting everything up, he wouldn't let me pay for the shipping and was just great throughout the process. Great people, food and location!

Been trying my best to come back every so often in hopes that things would have gotten better. But even by the reviews i see it has not. We are a local company here in Gainesville, and when 4Rivers first open we would go there at least twice a week. then corporate must have stepped in. Portions got smaller and service got worst. i once got burnt ends and it was all fat, took it up to the counter the person told me thats how it comes. WOW Well , just tried again today. Got takeout. Brisket sandwich with coleslaw on it. Got to office no coleslaw and meat was very salty, both the sandwiches we got. SAD I know the owner and store are all in large cities, and lots of people and travelers just coming through. But here in Gainesville small town people talk. If they dont start listening to the people ,the people will react. It can be done used to be a great place for lunch and dinner. MAKE A CHANGE. From a caring customer.

The best smoked wings I have ever had. I have sampled many wings from many smokehouses. These have the perfect smoke flavor and were very meaty and no fat. The baby back ribs were also delicious. No sauce needed for ribs or wings.

I ordered burnt ends and pulled pork with two sides for $20.00, not including tip and fees. What I received was not burnt ends, and the portions were maybe a half cup of meat. It looked disgusting and tasted the same. I feed my dogs sirloin steak. What would you feed your dogs, theirs or mine?

We ordered catering today and the order got missed, we called 20 minutes after we were supposed to receive it and corporate customer service got right to contacting the store, they started it right away and had it delivered to us within 30 minutes of the call, Michelle delivered our food and they threw in extra sides, desert, and tea to make amends. Michelle was absolutely lovely and a joy to interact with, absolutely will use them again, the food was amazing and the customer service was phenomenal!

They used to be consistently able to give me exactly what I asked for and its always the same. I order a super lean destroyer, after slicing off the lean meat, I instruct them to slice off the strip of fat because I shouldn't need to pick through my food. I eventually stopped going because they would begin getting my meat mixed up with other orders and I would get huge chunks of fat next to my plate. A couple people joked once that I didn't get any meat in my sandwich because of the pile of fat in my tray. My reply was that it's almost as bad as Sonny's. I stopped going after that visit until today. I thought, maybe, they'll get it right. The people that work there are nice and the food is great. I gave the instructions. My sandwich came out late as usual. And as usual, all screwed up. The meat was NOT from the lean end. It was a stretchy spongy mess that makes me fight a gag reflex. I wasted $22.90 including tip on 2 great sides, a tasty drink, a few comments from the emploees, a thoroughly destroyed sandwich and similarly smashed opinion on a place I used to love and go to every week. Thanks for the experience.

Customer service was great! The pulled pork was juicy and flavourful. The Mac and cheese was a little cold and could use more flavor but overall great experience!

Guess which tray in my picture cost $17.50 and which cost $17.90. Now imagine how trolled you would feel if you had the bottom tray and paid $17.90 for 2 fewer portions of meat in exchange for 1 more slice of brisket. 4Rivers needs to work on their menu because this just looks silly. I was so confused that I went back to ask, and they confirmed that, yup, this was exactly right. The place is too cold so all the food was cold within 5-10 minutes of sitting down. I also felt nauseous after eating here, which usually happens for me if it's too salty/heavy. Service is good, though.

I just had lunch at 4R. I got the burnt ends sandwich and baked beans. The sandwich was simply ok but the beans tasted like dirt. I couldn’t bring myself to eat any after the first bite. The service was fine, nothing great. The restaurant was clean and quite - felt dead. If you look at my reviews they are almost always the great places I’ve visited. 4R is not great and I won’t be going back.

Worst ever! Sloppy at best We eat there often. Good service in-ding, but large pick up order, they are awful!!! My guest were not impressed.

I have purchased food from 4Rivers several times. Unfortunately today I was disappointed. I ordered two takeout meals, pulled pork, two side each. . I may have been the first customer of the day, but the food tasted like it was reheated from a previous day. The pork was dry, the bun was cold and dry, the bacon on the jalapeño popper was not fully cooked. My order totaled $40.99 and I included a 15% tip. The staff was nice, but the food was not what was expected.

We partook of the Veteran's Day meal offer and it was, as always, exceptionally delicious. Thank you 4 Rivers Smokehouse for the delicious meal and the exceptional quality of the food. Your staff, working the food line, were personal and very attentive. Thank you for the great service and food.

Love the brisket Taco Tuesday with free drink. My cheapest and most satisfying meal under $11, you really can't go wrong.

The customer service was lacking in warmth and attentiveness; there was no greeting or offer of assistance upon arrival. Additionally, the French fries served were not hot, and the brisket was notably overcooked. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment.

This food is horrible. Its my 2nd time bc i thought maybe the 1st time i just got a bad experience. Umm..Save your money and go to Sonnys! The meat is so dry and all the sides taste like they just opened a can and have been sitting under the heat lamp. Horrible! I wont ever be back.

I normally order in excess of 5 quarts of their sweet potato casserole take out a week. Last week the recipe was totally different, bland and very thick consistency. When I called to resolve the issue I was told it was the “end” of the sweet potato 🍠 season making the menu item I received inedible; there was nothing they could do about it. I was offered a gift card by Michael which I’ve yet to receive. Over the weekend we were in Gainsville & tried one pint of the sweet potato 🍠 casserole ~ product was still very thick, pancake like consistency but the flavor had improved somewhat. Today…we ordered 1 pint from the Orange Park property & although the consistency had improved~ it was watery~ there was no taste 👅 whatsoever. Having been in the restaurant industry for decades ~ apparently 4 Rivers has forgotten the policy if you wouldn’t serve something to yourself ~ don’t serve it to a guest! Would love to see a resolution to this issue.

Ordered Postmates: Pink Nachos, side of mac n cheese and Brisket Platter. This was so delicious. You can taste the smoke in the meat. The pink Nachos were amazing, I'll have to ask for extra sauce next time. The Mac n cheese is exactly what I wanted, awesome as well. Thank You for a delicious dinner! See you real soon!

I tried the curb side service. My service was on time my food was fresh and a very cheerful person brought out my food. I tried the bread pudding as a side dish and it blow my mind delicious! Remind me of grandmother's pubbing ❤️🥰
