I've been to Adam's Rib many times and have always enjoyed it. My favorite dish was the potato salad. So for this Labor Day I purchased half a gallon. Unfortunately, the potato salad was subpar. It was evident that Adam's substantially changed the formulation. Gone was the mustard and its tanginess. In its place was a sweet sugary flavor which may be great if you want candy potato salad, but was off-putting to me.

Amazing ribs, great service. Ignore my dad smoking next to the propane tank.

All I can say is 5 star restaurant. The best smoked food north of Miami. The chicken is the best and ribs are great. All in all everything is the balm. Adam makes sure all is coming from his kitchen is perfect. Great place. This place you can go and get a great dinner and feed 2 people for under 20 bucks.

The meat itself is okay. Those sides are not worth it. Just get a side of fries, hold everything else. They need a revamp. I tried them again to give them the a shot but nope. Just eat meat & fries.

Usually very good, but togo pulled pork dinner full of big hunk of fat. Must have been quarter of the volume. If it came served on plate and dine in, I would have definitely complained.

Had placed an order for a takeout/pickup, planning my trip for stops. The location that used to be on 43rd and 53rd was still showing up online which is where we thought the food was going to be. It's gone. When called, the lady was very rude about everything.

I was here recently for dinner with some friends. It was the most delicious barbecue food that I have had in years, and I like to travel. Not only that, the portions were bigger than I imagined they would be. You really get your moneys worth here. The interior was clean and satisfying. Everyone else I was with really liked their food too.

The vibe is very blue collar; a quaint restaurant with a down-home working man vibe. Food was pretty good, smoked pork salad was nice and not too fatty.

The Adam's Rib Co. you once knew is dead. They have changed the type of ribs they use, it is basically Sonny's now. The sides are also comically small now. What used to be a sauce container is now a "side".

The food was very filling, I had barely been able to each much because it was so good, I didn’t want to stop, the servers were very kind and helpful, but very quick too, they do an excellent job, and the atmosphere in the building is amazing, I’m not much of a sports fan but I enjoy the atmosphere being tied to the Florida gators

We do not know this area, visiting a family member at the hospital, a nurse suggested your bbq so we took a lesp of faith and ordered all our favorites...The brisket was very dry cut into chunks...l was expecting sliced. In my opinion everything we ordered for take out was not worth a second chance except the fries. My garlic toast was very over toasted. If l wasnt so starved l would have brought it back for refund.

I got a half rib plate with mac & cheese and banana pudding as the sides. The ribs are fine at BEST — barely seasoned, oily, and the fat wasn’t trimmed. The mac & cheese tastes like overcooked, watery Velveeta. The banana pudding had cinnamon (too much at that) and no whipped cream. The cornbread was dry, lukewarm, and hard. The side portions were tiny as well. I am disappointed for the price and won’t be coming back.

Fun local rib joint. You know it's good when there is a lunch line out the door. Still, we were in, seated, and served very quickly. Bbq was excellent!

I had seen the restaurant in passing for years, but had never stopped till this time. They were very pleasant and welcoming and sat us quickly, even tho they were very busy. We ordered and didn't seem to take very long till our food arrived. Everything was very good and there was plenty of it.

Best ribs ever. Brisket wasn't great but not bad. I really enjoyed the potato salad and the collard greens. I'm also a big fan of their variety of sauces. I will be back every time I am in town for now on.

Great food. The ribs really don't need sauce. The rub they use is sweat and really good. Food came out fast. The broccoli cheddar bites can be a meal on their own. Maybe it was just last night, but once you get your food, you're on your own.

Food is really good there and price are great as well. Their chicken is moist and falls apart, salads are good.

Food is mediocre BBQ. I guess people will eat anything. Brisket had none of the fat trimmed and wasn't rendered properly 1/4 of my order was fat. The baked beans tasted like they had cinnamon and nutmeg in them. I've heard of putting burnt ends in baked beans but I found a whole bone in my side of beans. The coleslaw tasted like mayonnaise and cabbage. The banana pudding tasted like it was made in a bucket was warm and the bananas had more flavor than the pudding. Nothing about this meal was good and it bums me out.

Best experience, salad with mixed chicken was way more than I expected.

Just let me say I love Adams Rib food. I've been a fan since I found them when I moved here. And that has been 15 plus years ago. Ordered the Hogtown. It was delicious. The brisket tender, ribs fell off the bone, chicken juicy. The sides were perfect that went along with the meats. And don't leave out the barbecue sauce. Yum yum. The food was still hot and ready to eat. We will have food leftover for a couple days. This was a perfect way to start my week. Also I want to thank you guys for taking time to ensure my order was accurate. So do not hesitate to order any of their delicious foods. Thank you so much!!!

Solid food with especially good deals, some BBQ menu items are better than others but overall solid smokey flavor

Service and food are amazing. They do their best in a tough business. Gator gear, memorabilia and TV’s around the old school Pizza Hut building that’s pumping our hot bbq!

Mixed emotions on this review. We ordered delivery and everybody loved loved loved the food. Problem was one of our salads was supposed to be Dairy Free yet both had cheese and no dressing for either salad. Most of the dinners included fries. Yet there was no salt and ketchup. One of our guests ordered the fish sandwich but came with no tartar sauce. The only meal that was not enjoyed was the hamburger. While the garlic bread was good, the baked beans and corn was simply OK but disappointing. If we try this bbq resturant again hopefully they do a better job with the whole order cause I truly enjoyed the ribs.

There is NO better BBQ this side of Central Florida. Period! My family has been going to Adams since they were by the university and we stop in every time we visit the area. It's my favorite BBQ place ever! Food is hot, fast, consistent, you can see the smokers going outback.. There ain't nothing like Adam's! Hope they're around another 20 years plus!

This food would gag a maggot, and the grease in it would kill. But Adams made up for the dangerously greasy, bad food with a slow kitchen and indifferent wait staff. The ribs had no bark at all and appeared to have been boiled then rubbed and grilled. Back in 2020 a reviewer recommended the chef go to Texas to master his trade. Clearly the advice still applies.

First visit today and I have to say this was the best bbq I have had in Florida. Adam's beats any of the larger chains. Ribs were great and brisket and pork were moist and well flavored. I will certainly be back.

Decided to try this place out due to the reviews and was sadly disappointed. The service was okay and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. The cleanliness of the restaurant however was disgusting. The table top was greasy and the benches still had bits of food on them as well as the floor. The entire dining area could've used a wipe down and sweep. The rest room was even worse which is surprising for a rib place with all the people eating with their hands you would think it would be more sanitary. We ordered the Rib Plate for two with seasoned fries and potato salad. As well as a side of fried pickles. The ribs were absolutely disgusting with tons of fat on them. Out of the 5 ribs there was probably only 1 ribs worth of meat total. By far the worst ribs we have ever had. The "seasoned" fries had zero seasoning. The potato salad was good as well as the pickles. Save your $$ unless you want to grease the path to a coronary. *As to their response* Your company's name literally has "Rib" in it. We came to try the ribs and were disappointed. We were not going to ask for something else at that point. I gave an honest review of the quality of food served. You however didn't even respond about the lack of cleanliness of your dining area and restrooms. Yes, some of my reviews are bad because the food, service, or dining areas are horrible. I worked in the food industry for many years and the standards have definitely dropped.

I love BBQ. This was some damned good BBQ, especially for the reasonable prices. I will come back next time I'm in Gainesville!

I ordered a pick up order online around 8pm today which is a Saturday. Online and at the store it says they are open until 9pm. Upon arrival I was waiting at the door and the staff was ignoring me like I didn’t even exist. Eventually they came to the door and said that they had sold out on everything and that the manager closed shop early. Idk how true that is but it would’ve been nice to at least put a sign on the door. Now I have to try and dispute my charge because I paid for food that I never got.

The food is awesome! Only thing I didn’t really like is that they literally count your food.. for example (2ribs meal, 4 ribs, 6 corn nuggets or 12 corn nuggets) I just think that was weird. Anywhere else it’s half slab, whole slab, small or large side.. but other than that…Food is amazing and my go-to is the chopped brisket! Also it Needs some music playing or something, could have fell asleep from how quiet it was in there. Food -wise AWESOME!

The taste is very good! We ordered the combo (familiar I think is called, $47) we were 3 but really this is for 6 at least! We ate for 2 days (and a half😅) for sure we are gonna eat there next time we visit Gainesville!

It's my favorite BBQ spot in Gainesville. Great service, great food, and plenty of sauce options. Parking can be tight at times, but there is a lot across the street with plenty of spaces.

Where to start? This was by far some of the BEST food my family and I have eaten. The meats were all tender and flavorful, the ribs literally fell off the bone. I got the white meat chicken and it was tender, flavorful and wasn’t dried out. The sides were just as flavorful! Everything that was cooked tasted like it was cooked with love! We would love to see them come to Northwest Florida in the Pace or Pensacola area! ❤️

I’ve had better bar b que at Sonny’s which is not saying much. Their macaroni was okay but their collard greens were way too salty. Not happy. Won’t be going back.

My husband and I Love Adam’s. We sit and order and food Is out in 5 minutes. Hot and delicious. Better and cheaper than Sonny’s.

Amazing ribs, 4/5 because the first time we went the ribs were huge and took up the whole tray, while the second time two ribs side by side were the same size as one rib from the first trip.

We stopped here on a whim. It was the best BBQ we have had!! I had ribs and my husband had a pork sandwich. The ribs were amazing and the sides were above delicious. My husband's sandwich was the best in his opunion. His sides of black eyed peas and collard greens were AMAZING. We will definitely be coming back here when in aGainsville. The service here is awesom!! The staff is very personable and friendly. This plac chase everything you would want for southern BBQ. Delicious!!

If you want top quality food at the best prices nobody can meet and drives I love the ribs my girlfriend loves to chicken can't get any better coleslaw or baked beans they are the best I eat every chance I get .

Great place for gator fans and good food. Good prices and great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and patient. I would recommend this if you want good BBQ. I would go back here,and probably will. No complaints accept a little more fat on the pork.

Nasty food . Chicken sandwich so tuff could not bite into it. Breading falling off. Pulled pork taste old. Waitress couldn't tell me if they had Thousand Island dressing cause she didn't know what it was. Cheeseburger taste like it had been soaked in water. Waste of money.

I was pretty excited to try this place with all the hype surrounding it. The Mac and cheese was uber wet and more like a soup and the food was just overall boring. Brisket sandwich was pulled despite me not ordering that and was completely sauce-less. Plus that cornbread was dry and flavorless. I also had to wait despite the restaurant notifying me that my order was ready, the servers thought I had already picked my food up.

I ordered the a full rack ribs after some locals recommended the restaurant. And unfortunately that was a mistake as the ribs had little smoke flavor and was very tough. The only enjoyable part of the meal was the two sides and cornbread. To be honest Dickeys Barbecue does a better job.

Got take out to sample a variety, and everything was fantastic. The ONLY downside was that the sides were a little small for the price, but they were all good. The meats - all of them - were some of the best smoked meats I've had in years. * Onion rings were a star!! Anybody who likes rings needs to go here, big crispy order.

Very good BBQ. Generous portions. Had smoked turkey and it was better than most. Never got a refill of water despite sitting there with family for a longer than normal period. Seating is limited.

The very best place to get ribs 'to go' No employee bad attitudes to deal with. Sorry you have to be in that industry, but if you don't like it, move on. These ribs stand out as superior. Slow cooked and smokey. When I puck up in the afternoon, I think they are better than lunch, more tender. But it just seems that way! Enjoy. The Gator students who chose to work opened this restaurant. There is only one location now because the SW 13th Street was replaced by a Taco Bell. Try the best!

Adams is my favorite place for ribs. They smoke them to perfection, served with southern inspired sides and their sweet tea is just the way mom made it.

Ordered the "feed the family" bundle for 57$ and was blown away! Came w 3 large sides and 6 garlic bread as well all amazing, bread is super good for making a little sandwhich. Ordered the Fried okra and banana pudding as well, also super good and resonable priced. It well fed my wife and I with left overs for a second meals like we wanted. All the portions were generous, delivered with a bunch of extra sauces, and the ribs fell off the bone. It will feed us twice, and we can eat alott, especially when it's this good. Although it's advertised as 40 something $ on the menu, it's not. That and the banana pudding size (although very good) were the only disappointments. 10/10 Will order again, I do understand and still worth it, but please stop raising the price 😂 🙏

WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! When concerns were brought to the OWNER he CUSSED in front of our very young children (all under 5) … and it was one of their birthdays. Worst restaurant experience ever. His solution was to offer a $20 gift card. We declined because we will never go back there ever. Our food wasn’t great at all. Our service was pretty awful. At one point I was on my hands and knees in front of the restaurant & cleaning up a spill & they didn’t even offer me towels to help. No one checked on us and the food was just not good- so we kindly asked for a manager and just asked if anything changed because this experience was subpar compared to our previous experiences. He just started telling us we were wrong and all the food was great and getting upset that we “we started this in front of the whole restaurant.” Mind you- he was the only one upset. At one point we were apologizing for even bringing up concerns. At some point he used a fair amount of foul language in front of our little kids ON THEIR BIRTHDAY. So I just left the restaurant. We shouldn’t be attacked for expressing concerns about our experience. We didn’t want anything. Just wanted to find out why things were so different. But cussing at us for having concerns and being inappropriate in front of my kids when we are celebrating? Absolutely not. So unprofessional. I will not support any business owner who acts like that. I’ve been a server for 10 years. The customer is not always right- but you can still be kind. Below is my review from 3 months ago. We have always loved this place. But after today we will never go back. Post from 3 months ago: A wonderful hidden gem in Gainesville. Part of me doesn’t want anyone to find this place 😊 but they’re wonderful and deserve the recognition. Our server was absolutely sweet and very helpful. Our food was AMAZING. I have been looking for good “southern BBQ” since I was in TN. And Adams is right there! The food was true southern style, affordable and delicious. We were super pleased with our experience and will absolutely be back again.

Great food for a great bargain! The ribs and brisket were awesome and the sides are killer. My only problem was with the mac n cheese; I was expecting something better than powdered cheese from such an iconic BBQ restaurant, but beyond that everything tasted great. Get the City Boy! Trust me!!!
