Super delicious Mediterranean food. Nice staff as well. They were super busy because of the second time I went was after the 4th of July parade. But they were very accommodating and got things out quickly

This is a small local restaurant that definitely gives the vibe of a local mom and pop shop. Its clean and comfortable, but decor and aesthetics are not really what you come here for. Service is good. Our drinks were always refilled. Everyone was pleasant and nice. They got our orders within minutes of us sitting down. Food came out fast. No complaints. Food. 1. Greek Combo Plate 5/5 - Baba Ganoush was sooo good. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Pita was warm when it came out. 2. Gyro Sandwich on Pita Bread 5/5 - The lamb was so good. It was well seasoned and cooked with enough char giving it great flavor. 3. Baked Meat Lasagna with Mozzarella Cheese - Very good. One of the best lasagnas we've had. It definitely tastes home made with the chunky sauce. Comes with bread to scoop all the sauce when youre done with the pasta. 4. Baklava - Its made with walnuts. At least I didnt taste the pistachio but it was still very good. It wasnt overly sweet. My husband loved it. 5. Rice Pudding - Its orange flavor, and although I am not an orange fan this was my favorite. It was so good especially on a very hot day. I have no complaints with the food. The food were alllllll amazing. Im excited to come back and try other things on the menu. ♥️ Cost: We spent $70 for 2 people without tip, but we also ordered appz, 2 full mains and 2 desserts. So $35 per person. Overall, my husband and I decided this is our new favorite Greek Italian restaurant and we rank it as "will travel out of our way to eat here".

This was the best find ever. The place was absolutely adorable and you could tell a lot of love was put into the interior to make it a homey place. They came over right away to get our order and started on our food. Service was fast and our food was amazing!! We really enjoyed the variety of options and being able to support a family owned business.

Locally owned and as good as ever. The chicken is well marinated. The dips are the best you will get in this area if anywhere.the pizza is amazing and the dough is uniquely crisp and has layers. Any reviews saying otherwise had a one off experience or are just not correct. The food is excellent.

It is a small, family-friendly place with great history. The service was wonderful, our refills arrived on time without being ordered. For an appetizer we had the hummus with pitas and it was delicious. The Greek pizza is also delicious and the shrimp with rice is spectacular. I would definitely return.

Subpar food and frustrating service. Salmon salad was overcooked and overly fishy, and the main server was on the phone outside during dinner service. Pizza was ok tho doughy. When we told the other server, all we got was "sorry". No service recovery or rectification for future potential visits. We had enjoyed many good meals here in the past 15+ years, but with this outing it's hard to justify a return in the near future.

What surprise! Excellent food and friendly service. My friends took me here and I loved it. Our party of six all ordered different dishes and everyone cleaned their plates. My meat lasagna and garlic bread was fantastic. A nice glass of Cabernet finished it off nicely.

We were exploring Old Town and were hungry. We came across this little place and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did. My girlfriend ordered a burger, which she loved. I got some mozzarella sticks and a pepperoni pizza. The food was fantastic and the staff was really nice. I can't wait to get back there and try more items.

New to the area, so this place was recommended to take my wife for a special occasion. Nothing real fancy, but don't let that fool you. The food was delicious. The lemon chicken soup was suggested and didn't disappoint. My wife ordered the moussaka. She loved it. (Points for me) I had the gyro plate. Beef was tender. Everything was fresh. It seemed like a generous serving, yet I cleaned the plate. We proceeded to share rizogalo, also recommended. Served warm, not too sweet,hint of orange flavor, and great ending to our visit. Thank you for the warm hospitality! Coming from Italy, we enjoyed our meal like we did there. They never rushed to flip table.

Perfect for a cozy Taverna-style meal with family or a couple of friends. The Greek food is absolutely on point and presented in authentic Taverna-style-- simple, generous, full flavored. The staff is helpful and attentive. There are 9 or 10 booths and a couple of stools at the bar for indoor dining, but it was about 1/2 full or less at 6 on. Saturday. This is one of the few local non chain restaurants in Nova. It has been around for over 30 years for a reason.

We were really looking forward to getting food from this place. It was recommended by a colleague who went to college in the area. It is a cute little place in town with a nice atmosphere. And truly looks like a mom and pop shop. We ended up getting a greek pizza and sausage calzone. The calzone was mostly bread at the edges and all the filling was centered in the middle. So it was hard to share between four people. The filling was also not very flavorful. The pizza toppings didn't even get close to the edge of the pizza, leaving a large crust, this wouldn't be bad if the crust wasn't bland, however, it was crispy. Also, someone in my party had a piece of plastic in their slice of pizza. Overall well-below average experience. The bright side was that the service was good, for what it's worth for takeout. The people were very friendly. We spent over $42 for a pizza and a calzone, way too costly for what we got. I am going to have a word with my colleague. I hate giving bad reviews for small shops, however I really needed to.

Very nice place. The inside is beautiful and has an iconic old school atmosphere. The food comes out quick and is good. I’ve been there twice and have no complaints about the service or had a bad experience with the food. Seems like more people take out than dine in. I see a lot of people order the pizza but haven’t ordered that yet. The Lasagna is ok but the pasta dish (forgot what is was called) is delicious.

Bro the entire restaurant was filthy (i think my hands were more dirty after washing my hands in their bathroom than before i washed). Service was terrible, we had no room to eat because nobody would take plates off our table. It was hot and gross (it’s summer when im writing this). Food was ok tasting at best, go somewhere else.

Handing out five star reviews too freely reduces their value. They should be reserved for the truly exceptional. With that said, I wish there was something I could rate five stars here but there wasn't. I had a gyro plate. As soon as I saw it, I realized it was overhyped. The meat was skimpy and a bit dry. Flavorful, yes, but not abundant. Much more hmmm than wow. My pita was thin. That might be a personal preference. Some people like thick, fluffy pancakes, while others prefer thin. Neither right nor wrong. Enough about that. Others in my party had a cheese pizza and gyro sandwich. The sandwich was also rather light on the meat. The pizza was good but not anything to get excited about. Service was friendly but relaxed. The pizza arrived a good five minutes before the other meals, yet it appeared to be a relatively slow evening. Long enough one begins to wonder what happened. Havabite's atmosphere is a good vibe, in a historic building. I like that and it makes you want to have a great experience. They've been around a long time so they're obviously doing things well enough to survive. I'll probably return at some point and possibly try a sub or pasta dish. But my expectations will be lower. And if I am hankering for a truly exceptional, five star gyro, I'll head to Spartans in Burke.

What a GEM. The lasagna was tasty and a generous portion. The chicken parmesan was very good and a generous portion also. My brother-in-law, from New York City, had a gyro and he said it was as good as any in the City. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very cheerful. I highly recommend this eatery.

Tasty food, excellent service, extensive menu. I had the Gyro platter; my friend had the shrimp with rice & both were very tasty! We ate outside, which is a nice option on a beautiful evening.

Lasagna, burgers, souvlaki, gyros, pizza, .... they are all good at this neighborhood favorite. The wait staff is nice, too, and the price for the food is reasonable. Don't forget to try their specials! Our favorites are the Havabite Sub with onion rings, the gyros, souvlaki, their spicy and fabulous Greek pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and pastisio. One of our favorite restaurants in the area for decades!

Good italian greek food, so yummy so delicious..

The food here is amazing. We started with the Tzatziki w/Pita Bread. I had the Shrimp Santorini over Rice (V) Jumbo shrimp sautéed with garlic, white wine, feta and fresh tomatoes. Served on a bed of rice. My daughter got the Chicken Kabob over Rice Grilled marinated chicken breast with onions, green peppers and tomatoes. Served on a bed of rice. My grand children had Kid's Chicken & Rice with Fries and Spaghetti (without meatballs). We also got Homemade Baklava for dessert. Everything was so good we ordered the Tzatziki w/Pita Bread and Homemade Baklava to go just to have more. The baklava was the best I have had in a restuarnt.

This small Greek and Italian restaurant in old town Fairfax City has great food. The place is so homey and the customer service is very good. The Greek gyro salad was delicious. The gyro meat was authentic and juicy. We also had the chicken Parm sandwich and it was served with melted cheese dripping down. The turkey Ruben was also delicious. We also had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was great. We would highly recommend this place for authentic Greek and Italian food served in a home style setting.

Walked in at 7pm. Sign said they close at 930. Was turned away with empty tables. Felt discriminated against. Disappointing...

Ordered an appetizer & pita wrap from here that ran me $25. I'd ordered online and requested extra sauces etc. I didn't get them. Further, there was some confusion over if my order was ready or not. Food was clearly homemade. It's ok, not earth shattering. Place is locally owned and therefore I'll support it for the reason, not the food or service. So far.

Cozy eatery in the middle of the busier part of Fairfax. On a Sunday evening, we were able to walk in and have a seat where we wanted. The service was generous and the entrees for the adults were sufficient. I was forewarned that a calzone would take 20 minutes, which was longer than the wait time for the Gyro Platter and Kid Meals. Time went by quickly as I played games with the family and sipped an adult beverage. A lot of different options. Looking forward to going back to try something different assss all food was tasty and it's a warm, 'home-y' environment and it's intimate in there.

Quick service with perfectly seasoned Italian and Greek food. Our lasagna plate was fresh with a nice balance of sauce to pasta. The giros platters had very hot fries or Greek salad, both delicious. The place has a very home cooked feel with friendly services. The only tough part is the parking - not their fault.

I visited on a Sunday evening after an event in Fairfax City to get a quick dinner. I heard about Havabite from a friend, so I thought I would go inside especially after another diner encouraged me when I looked at the menu outside. A classic small business with seemingly four staffers working on a busy Sunday, this place has a lot of character with the building seating maybe 25 or so dating back to the late 70s I learned from another diner. Service was engaging from the two staffers with whom I spoke, even if the kitchen was struggling to keep pace with a higher than normal number of online orders according to the staff. I settled for ordering a burger with mushrooms and onions and fries followed by a chicken souvlaki platter (salad and pita). The burger was cooked well done but struck me as dry on the inside. Fries arrived hot and had good flavor but some needed to be crisped more and not be as soft. The platter had some nicely seasoned chicken if not a little dry and a very good and almost pillowy side pita. The salad has too much iceberg lettuce and needs more tomato, cucumber, and onion and less feta cheese for a better Greek salad. I would be tempted to have a chicken souvlaki pita/gyro, as that would combine the two best parts of what I ate in this platter. The total cost came to just under $30 excluding tax and tip, so I think the prices seem reasonable for the quantity of food I received. I could return in the future if I were in the area and wanted to try a gyro or other sandwich for lunch or a smaller dinner.

Came here today with some friends to grab a bite. Got the Chicken Souvlaki Plate and it was fantastic! Came with a side Greek salad and pita. The chicken was delicious - crisp exterior, but a juicy fresh inside. 2-3 pieces were a bit over done for what I prefer, but if you like a bit of char it won't bother you. I was disappointed they don't offer spanakopita (Greek pie) as an appetizer, only a meal. But, just another reason to come back! Great food at a great price!

Went with a friend (July 20, 2022) for lunch. I ordered the Greek salad with gyro meat. The salad (tomatoes, cucumber, onions, lettuce was soggy and old, not freshly made). The meat was not freshly sliced, old pieces over-heated to the point of being burnt and tasteless. I asked for pita bread which usually accompanies a dish like this. They charged me $1.50 for a few pieces of over-toasted pita bread I could not chew into, it was so hard. I knew something was off when my food came immediately after placing my order. Never going back here again. I left without being able to eat what I ordered, that's how bad the food was. What a waste of $17. (Had to highlight one star above so this would be posted).

Saw the high rating and wanted to have Mother's Day here. The food was expensive, and bland at best. The people were friendly, but the service was not good. Several items were forgotten and had to be either reordered or tossed up as a loss. The inside of the dining area was dirty and many of the seats had footlong cuts in the benches. They gave us the comfortable bench that had many such cuts exposing much of the filling. Was not comfortable because we are sitting on damaged seating. I can't tell someone what to do, but what I can say is we will not be coming back.

We had lunch here, a basket of onion rings to share (which as an extra order, some of the sandwiches come with fries, but not the gyros) and a gyro & chicken souvlaki. All three items ordered were good. It's a small restaurant but does have some outdoor seating. However, many of the booth seats were torn so they could use an update.

Fantastic food, great ambiance, and decent prices. I highly suggest the half rack of ribs and BBQ chicken. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Havabite Eatery has been my all-time favorite place to eat in Fairfax for over 25 years! Their menu choices are amazing! Daily specials are wonderful and everything that comes out of that kitchen is so fresh and appetizing! Greek delights such as Spanakopita, Souvlaki (pork & chicken), Gyro platter, and my favorite, the Greek Combo Plate! In addition to all of the delicious Greek goodness, Havabite's subs and sandwiches are also extremely tasty. They do not skimp on their meats, and the onion rings and fries are delicious! I love their quaint little outdoor dining area. It is a great place for people watching during lunch. If you have not checked this restaurant out, you are missing out on a true gem!

Friends of ours suggested this restaurant when we visited their place at the end of March. The restaurant is very small (they might have space for ~25 customers), but the food is great. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki plate, my wife ordered the Gyro plate, and our daughter went for the obvious kid favorite (pizza). I feel like my taste evolved toward spicier food over the years, and Chicken Souvlaki would not be my typical food choice. But this chicken was cooked to perfection (very tender) and the food tasted fresh and flavorful. We would probably be frequent customers if we lived closer.

I have been looking for authentic lasagna for 2 1/2 years in the northern VA area. I finally found it! It's a family-owned recipe and cooked perfectly. We also had Greek salads and spanikopita, which were also very good. The tzatziki is delicious. The restaurant itself is cozy and has a fair amount of seating. We were served by the owner, so it has that authentic, mom and pop feel. We will definitely eat here again.

Meh. It was okay. Salads we're mostly iceberg, which is typically not part of a Greek salad. The fresh/frozen onion rings at $5 a basket was incredibly overpriced for the small allotment includes in the basket.

ohmygoodness! delicious! Took our son to meet Santa @ Town Hall, well he got to eat, we were starving and we don't know the area very well so we're looking for places to eat we happen to walk by and it's a small little restaurant with a few tables to eat outside. Quaint. My husband was starving so he actually ordered Alfredo with chicken and we also got a large cheese pizza to go and I didn't get pork chops to eat later that night. Delicious! we took the pizza out and it smelled so good that we didn't even make it to the car everybody had a slice and yes I do carry napkins in my pocket because you never know when you're gonna have a snack, lol. and thankfully I do have paper towels and paper plates in the back of my car haha The dough is really good and the crust was puffed out nicely and the cheese was tasty with a little bit of some thing and I wish I would've taken more photos of our food but... Has Italian like fettuccine alfredo, a few american items like burgers, & greek.

Growing up in NYC I was exposed to authentic Greek cuisine at a young age... Fast forward 35 years and I found it again! The pork souvlaki was tender as it gets, the hummus, baba ganoush, tzaziki and gyro were spectacular! I wish we lived closer as I'd come here every week for dinner. Don't forget to try to baklava was the best ending to a spectacular meal!
