Food was phenomenal, and when I didn’t love my drink because it was too sweet, server brought an alternative at no charge. Five star service and food. Can’t wait to come back!

Lively place on a Saturday evening to have some Irish food and drink, catch up with people and listen to traditional music.

We had an excellent time tonight at dinner. Service was great, the food and drink perfect. Atmosphere fun. If I could I would go again tomorrow night.

They had a live comedy show in the basement which was great. I knock the atmosphere a little because the music upstairs was loud making it hard to hear the comedians down stairs. I'd maybe knock the beer a bit too because the 2 hearted I had tasted fruity like some of the truly got into it. Overall had a great time though and love this place as a ffx city staple

Looks like a local Irish Pub. The food and service was incredible. Live music on Friday. We went two days in a row while on vacation. I had the beef stew, my wife had salmon.

Good food and drinks. Website says they close at 10 but they turned the music up super loud at 9 and started putting chairs on tables while we were still eating. Service was a bit slow so it seemed to compound our frustration.

We have lived in the area for over 10 years, but for no particular reason we had never visited this establishment before last week. After finally visiting, we realized that we've been missing out. The food was great, the wait staff was attentive, and my three picky children all found something that they liked. We will be adding this place to our rotation - see you soon!

Nondescript completely boring exterior. But inside...yes you could be in Dublin (ceiling is a little high though) and the food and drink are what you would expect from an Irish pub...Irish and good. You should go.

Nothing sets a mood right like live music and and a great meal. The service was beyond excellent and the food matched and then some. Words cannot do my experience justice, but just know if you're thinking about sitting down to eat, you should be doing it here.

First timer...and enjoyed the whole experience...ordered the Fish&Chips...very well prepared and followed up with the Creme bruele cheese cake... Fun atmosphere with live music... Parking is a little different...being in Fairfax parking was only at a garage but it was public parking with no charge...

Coordinating a family get together for 50+ relatives, Auld Shebeen is the perfect venue for live music, great food, great drinks and great memories. Dominic and Mick (the owners / managers) as well as the staff are all great with accommodating special events. I highly recommend Auld Shebeen as they know how to bring everything together, taking the hassle out of planning while just ensuring everyone has a great time. Great Beer selection on draft, food is top-notch and the atmosphere makes it feel like home. It is an authentic Irish pub where entire families from 8 years old to 80 years old can all get together and share laughs, good times, good music and great memories. Love this place. It is a go to, family, friends, clients. Everyone loves it.

Went there on a weekend. It was busy but not packed. It took about 15 minutes to get a drink, and about the same for refills. But that was the only slight inconvenience. The food was awesome, the atmosphere was great, and the waiters/waitresses were very nice.

A touch of the Irish. With its delicious shepherds pie and fish and chips it made for an enjoyable dinner out. The atmosphere is cozy so I wouldn’t suggest going with a large crowd but the live music kept it entertaining.

Super cute hole in the wall by George Mason. Absolutely loved it. There's also a parking garage a little down the road with free parking which was helpful to know. I will be coming back in the future. The Ruben was AMAZIN!

A true gem. Special place in my heart.

Lunch was terrific!! I had the Claddagh Bo Porter Cheeseburger, and my wife had the Buddicks Fish & Chips. The gravy with the mashed potatoes and peas was great as was the cheeseburger (Irish Cheddar). My wife enjoyed the Fish and Chips, very light breading and great tasting fish with good tartar sauce and cold slaw.

Our meal was some of the best pub food we've ever had. The curry is magical and with fries it is certainly an other worldly experience. To heck with Franks Red Hot, we want this curry to put on everything. Then there's the claddagh burger. It's like an Irish loco moco. Memories of this combination of perfectly cooked mash potatoes, expertly seared and seasoned burger with a simply decedent gravy is enough to make me salivate while writing this revue. To round this amazing meal into an exceptional experience was our server Maddie C. They were incredibly attentive and throughout the meal continued to make sure that we had everything we needed. We can't wait to come back.

We ordered take out fish and chips for my kids and chicken pot pie for husband. Chicken pot pie was a wrinkly piece of bread in a container with a thing of soup in a plastic container…..idk what kind of chicken pot pie that is but def not normal. Also fish wasn’t cleaned correctly and had scales…..weird……burger was average but not worth the money.

My sever Patrick was so lovely and attentive. Made sure my drink was never empty, answered all my questions about the menu thoroughly, and was so polite. My soup was delicious and the butter beer cocktail is phenomenal.

This is my favorite local Irish pub, authentic Irish food, warm atmosphere and large spaces (separate walk-in and reserved areas on busy days for minimal waiting) . We enjoyed the live music on St Patrick day.

The food was amazing, but the servers in the downstairs bar had so much attitude. When I went downstairs none of the bartenders greeted me and I had to wait 7-10 minutes for my first drink. When I asked for a food menu, this one young dude behind the bar made it seem like I was holding him up and wasting his time. Super rude. The women were nice though.

We haven’t been back here for a long time so we decided to come back for a nice dinner. We ordered corned beef and cabbage and Claddagh bo porter cheeseburger. The burger had a beautiful charred beef flavor that matched perfectly with the cheese and mashed potato. The corned beef was delicious like I remembered. The presentation was lovely and the portion was just right. I noticed the pricing was extremely fair as well. The whole dining experience was superb with excellent service from Chelsea. We will definitely try to come back more often.

Love the Auld Shebeen! Atmosphere is great here and the irish coffees are so good. Come here when they have live music with a group of friends.

They've got great food and service here. I really like the Spicy Cowboy Burger and Guinness Beef Stew. The fries are probably one of the best fries I've ever had with their seasoning, the cut of the fries, and the curry sauce. Don't forget about their chicken curry. If you are looking for dessert, I recommend the triple chocolate mousse cake and sticky toffee pudding. I hope to come back here another time.

People were great. Service was good. Atmosphere was wonderful. The Shepards Pie was mostly mashed potatoes with very little filling under the mashed potatoes.

If you cut out that awful live music where I can’t hear the person next to me that would be amazing. Or put them downstairs instead. It’s deafening and, after several friends had asked to go, I told them it’s just not worth it.

Went for Fairfax City Restaurant Week and had a fantastic meal and a great time! Will definitely be back.

My daughter was asking for an Irish experience. Wow, was this a pleasing stop. I got the fish and chips. The fish filet was perfectly fried, I am saying this from a southern Georgia perspective.

Our waitress was Kylie who was very knowledgeable, very helpful and definitely welcoming. They had 0.0. Guinness which I very much enjoyed with my Fish and Chips. No noise level to be disturbing. An all together enjoyable evening after discovering that parking is down the street .

We ordered take-out for our family. They forgot to pack my soup. The topping for my chicken pot pie was burned and tasted like char, and the interior chicken stew was bland. The only good part was the soda bread, hence the second star. The other folks at our house didn't enjoy their food much either.

We spend a month annually in the British Isles. And when we're in our NoVa place Auld Shebeen remains our fav for excellent pub food. The food here remains among the best you will find in any pub anywhere in the world. My bride had the Shepherd's Pie. She loved it. I had the Chicken Pot Pie which was filled with chicken. I love the Kilkenny Creme Ale. It's difficult to find anywhere else. Portions here are on the large side, so bring an appetite. Cheers!

My friends and I were in the area and stopped in. I had often driven by it many times. We had dinner. I had the stew and two friends had the shepherd's pie. The service was great and the food excellent. The kitchen got the food out very quickly. The wings were great too. Hot and tasty.

This was one of the coolest pubs I've been to, and the food and service was absolutely outstanding. We were there for New Year's Eve and will absolutely be returning.

Had my birthday party there with 40 of my friends. The proprietor Dominic and the Staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. They made sure my friends had a good time and that my birthday was special. The food was also amazing and the drinks were great! Highly recommend.

On December 15, 2023, I called the restaurant to make reservation around 1:00 pm. She answered me the manager I make reservation for two and request a booth. and I told her the time around 7:00 pm She said okay all set, After we arrived, I surprised she wanna let us sit on normal table and there is three booth Are empty, I told her We are reserve a booth and you said okay available, Immediately told It’s reserve for more than two people, After while, not even five minutes, She start seating people even tow people that let them sit on booth, Anyway, because I drive all the way from Michigan to Virginia and I have special occasion with my wife, I told myself it’s okay, let’s roll it, So the manager her name Nicole when I left. I tried to talk with her about the situation and I told her I will write a good review about you. She said yes go ahead thank you in advance , After I explained the situation,( you didn’t give us a booth,) But is a good thing the waitress, her name, Olivia, she was amazing , So Olivia should be a manager instead of Nicole, because Nicole unprofessional To be a manager the way she talk and act as well so this is first time actually for this restaurant and it’s going to be last time.. I hope the owner read this review. Thank you..

December 2nd enjoyed a concert here. The show was good, and the atmosphere compliments that. The staff behind the bar and the stage were wonderful. The food was good too.

Our server was friendly and attentive without being too much, if you know what I mean. I gave the atmosphere 5 stars but I want to qualify that. We were there during a day of non stop rain and heavy winds. The restaurant was nearly empty. The decor is awesome. The bar is well stocked. But I can't say anything about noise levels. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the shepherd's pie, which was excellent.

Used to enjoy Auld Shebeen however somewhere along the way their quality of good Irish food went down. It's a real shame because the service is great and the atmosphere is fun, but the food is disappointing. Stop trying to fancy up and infuse your food and just go back to good Irish food.

The Auld Shebeen is a great place anytime of the day! They have a great brunch, appetizers and Irish standards. The Guinness stew is our favorite, but we have literally eaten everything on the menu! The staff is attentive and engaging. The environment is always warm and cozy. They have an excellent whiskey and draft beer selection. You can't go wrong down at da 'Been!

This place is so cozy, the food is delicious, and the vibes are perfect.

Worked with the owner to host my wedding reception in the basement floor. He was super communicative and accommodating. We had an absolutely amazing time between the venue, the food & the drinks.

Went to the Auld Shebeen while on holidays with friends, this Irish bar is excellent, the service, food and Guinness is like being at home. Met the owners, lovely and friendly,and everything about this place can not be faulted. Try the fish n chips along with a pint of the black stuff, you will not be disappointed. 5 star's for atmosphere, food, drinks, price, and service. Highly recommended.

What a warm, incredible place. Not only is the atmosphere amazing and authentic, but the food is very high quality. Everything we ordered was wonderful and warmed us up on a rainy night. The live music was a blast too!

We stopped in here the other night. The tunes on the box were great. Service was great. The price tag though was definitely more than we were expecting. We are talkin New York City. 3 beers and 3 glasses of wine cost us $72. I'm actually not sure I can afford to go back. Which is too bad because we enjoy the place. But end of the day and it's an Irish bar

A colleague and I had dinner here once after a shift and it was lovely. They had red ale on tap, and the reuben was very satisfying. My colleague recommended i try the curry sauce, and was blown away by an irish pub having such an amazing curry sauce. 100% I'm coming back

Live Irish music with delicious Irish foods.

I called and tried to send 2 bottles of champagne to my friend’s table as I was not able to be in attendance. At first I was told blankly that, “I’ve never heard of that so I don’t know.” Ok, fair enough. But after being put on hold I was promptly told, “No, we don’t do that here.” and then disconnected. I’ve never known of a restaurant where you could not call in and send something to the table or offer to pick up their check.

Went for my 25 year high school reunion and I was pleased with everything.

One of our go to restaurants for some good comfort Irish food. The beef stew was so flavorful and big chunks of meat. The cottage pie dish was amazing. The chicken with the herb sauce is chefs kiss. Don’t sleep on the fries with curry sauce. That curry sauce is everything. The leek soup is also delicious.

Ordered the beef stew & tried the sticky toffee pudding, both were very good. I would eat there again. It is odd they have shepherd's pie with beef & cottage pie with chicken. Shepherd's pie should be lamb & cottage pie with beef - they seem improperly named & I am not sure why they have cheese in them.

Beef stew was to die for. Would definitely come again!
