Best deli around, definitely get what you pay for!

Fresh food, friendly service, nice added touch by writing on the sandwich wrapper "for Queen, Princess and King" Thank you and we will be coming back and telling others about your tasty sandwiches and great service!

I would bring a bus group from the Detroit area every year before the pandemic for tours in the New York area. I would have to order 56 sandwiches with 3 to 4 different choices. Our bus wouldn't arrive to our hotel until after 8:00 pm (after your normal business hours) Upon our arrival, someone would deliver our lunches that evening for the next day. I have always appreciated the extra mile that they went for our bus group. The sandwiches were always delicious. I look forward to doing business with you in the near future

I’m not sure how this place has so many good reviews. My turkey and cheese sandwich was horrible! The bread is hard. The turkey meat is disgusting! They give you alot of meat because their meat is trash. Never again I’ll rather go to the other sandwich spot down the street.

Got fed up with jersey mikes skimpy sandwiches. This sandwich is filled with a ton of meat! Wish the bread was a little softer but overall can’t complain. 5/5

I ordered 2 hero platters from here on very short notice and they were able to accommodate my needs quickly. They had great customer service and even offered me a drink on the house as I waited. The meat, veggies, and cheese were very good and tasted incredible fresh. However, I would love to see them explore different bread options for their sandwiches. If they decide to explore different bread option Hero King would definitely get more business from me. So because of the bread id give the food 3/5 and the service is definitely a 5/5 in my opinion.

Hero King Nutley New Jersey is on top of our list.. Every Friday and Saturday is Household(3) Treat day. We have approximately 20 restaurants. We drive from 2 and a 1/2 miles to 40 miles out from our house. I keep a list and critique the foods Quality, Quantity, and Consistency. If the take-out doesn't meet our QQ, the consistency is not there. The restaurant goes to the bottom and gets a second chance later. 2 strikes your out and replaced. Outstanding job Hero King of Nutley. A+++

Excellent sandwich, bread is fresh, cold cuts are fresh and it a well built sandwich. Macaroni salad was on point.

Today the Hero King disappointed me. I had never gotten a sandwich I wasn't pleased with. I work the evening shift, my co worker called and asked me to get a sandwich for from "that place where I gotten one for in the past" . As always I ask for VERY little oil and vinegar, no salt and heavy orgreano never a problem, sandwich never soggy. Well my coworker calls me and asked if I got sandwich from same place, I replied yes. She voices her dissatisfaction with sandwich. I then check my sandwich and I'm upset because my sandwich is soggy, mind you I don't eat until later. I got the #4(ham) which ham is already salty and they put more salt on it. I called the shop and spoke with the young lady, hoping that she would offer me a credit. She apologize and said there was nothing she could do and being that it was at lunchtime (busy) "mistakes can happen". I've been in this shop when it was busy, today it wasn't. If this is the way New Management treat their customers, they just lost one. I threw my sandwich in trash and reimburse my coworker. I miss the gentleman and lady that worked there before. They were friendly and always made you want to return.

Huge sandwich and it was the 1/2 size. Very good. You will not get this much food for the money anywhere else.

Excellent customer service! They accept Apple Pay! The sandwich was exceptional! I hand a simple turkey and provolone sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard. It was delicious! It was huge and I couldn’t finish the whole thing at once! They were fast making the sandwich! Couldn’t ask for anything better! I’ll definitely be back there!

Not all heros wear capes but some come in loaves of bread. Friendly service. Lots of meat in sandwiches and filling. The pastrami sandwich and the Italian were really good. Worth a trip if craving yummy subs.

This place is so worth it!!! Bought two number 4 Italian subs and from the quality of the bread and cold cuts to the friendly man and woman working there...HATS OFF!!! YOU TWO TOTALLY NAILED IT!!! What I mean to say is that they went above my expectations. Definitely going back on Friday to try the lobster rolls. It's nice to see people who care so much about what they do and they are truely outstanding. I wish them all the best. ***Update*** Got the lobster rolls today!! They rock!! Very delicious. This is my new sandwich spot in Nutley, NJ.

My Husband just stopped in for the very first time to grab lunch for us, and let me just say "The best Honey Turkey Submarine" hands down! For a picky eater, I was extremely satisfied, the sandwich was piled high with all quality ingredients, We will definitely be back. The customer service was impeccable..My husband spoke very highly of the owners and how he was treated. They even gave him one of their Sodas to try "Thank you"😊 In today's society, it's so difficult to cross pass with genuine people who appreciate you for patronizing their establishment. Delicious stacked sandwiches that are always fresh. Personal and family favorite is the Turkey Club but I have not been disappointed with any other sandwich on the menu! The staff are nice and the place is kept clean and organized. I wish they were open everyday and longer!

Hands down the best sandwich joint in the northeast. Every sandwich is made with fresh ingredients and they are loaded with so much meat that you could bludgeon a man to death with the whole sub. The brand name soda hits like no other soda does and even the macaroni salad leaves you temporarily hallucinating and thinking the world is sunny and bright. I've tried a bunch of their subs but I still haven't scratched the surface of what they offer. If you haven't had lunch with Hero King then you ought to place an order right away! Choosing any other place for lunch deserves nothing less than a beating with their classic Italian followed by having that same sub force-fed to you.

If you want the best sub/hero/hoagie (whatever you call them) in town then go here. Everything is sliced fresh and they do not skimp on the meats like some other "Jersey" sandwich shops around that push you for the even more expensive extra meat option. I definitely highly recommend this place for a REALLY good sandwich.

What are the biggest and best sandwiches you can get around town. Made quick fast and in a hurry for you to enjoy. Definitely have a great menu courteous staff and a beautiful establishment. Would definitely recommend

Wow, the hot Italian sub (#4) is great, lots of meat and cheese with just the right roll and consistency. The Hoboken special has hot roast beef, gravy, and fresh mozzarella 😋. Neither my wife or I could finish more than half a sandwich. Side salads are nice, we liked their potato and macaroni salads. This is on my list of places that I am willing to drive over 20 minutes to get to for the food. Highly recommended.

Today was my first visit I ordered The Pony roast beef cheddar and horseradish fabulous the bread too and I also had a #8 pepperoni and provolone and the tortellini salad perfect compliment. Quick friendly service. When you order the popular "Hoboken" make sure you ask for a small container of the horse radish sauce. Gives it a kick, delicious.

They nostalgic, old style place that uses fresh breads, top quality meats, and a very welcoming old school friendly environment. Good pricing too especially compared to others in the area who try to make good big sandwiches. This place takes the cake in my opinion

They've been around for 40 yrs, which says a lot! They are very friendly and most importantly the heros/subs are jam packed with quality cold cuts and fresh toppings. They remind me of B & T subs from back in the day.

Finally made it to the Hero King for their famous Hoboken Sandwich which is only offered on specific days of the week, which is Wednesday's and Saturday's. This was worth the wait. After having other Hoboken Sandwiches in the area, I have to say that the gravy is what defines this version. Every bite you are getting a burst of gravy. Perfect blend of Mozarella and Roast Beef with great bread. The People are super nice. I will be back for sure. Great Job Hero King.

It’s always a pleasure walking into this shop. I am always greeted by the friendly staff and they are all great to talk to while you wait. Also, if you order ahead, the sandwiches are always ready within 10 minutes. The sandwiches are also meaty and recommend getting the works with each sandwich.

Ordered 3 sandwiches today for lunch with friends and each one was top notch. 1st was a #3 Italian with the works. 2nd was a #21 all veggie option which friend loved. 3rd was a custom hot pastrami sandwich with a twist having kimchi sauce, provolone, and topped with coleslaw. Got to say pastrami was dynamite. Usually I am a Reuben guy but their coleslaw paired amazingly with their pastrami which was super tender. Very friendly people too. Definitely recommend. Wish I took a picture before I devoured the sandwich. Hopefully I'll remember next time.

Staple sandwich spot in Nutley, NJ. The subs are big and beefy. Delicious. Service is quick. Small space so nowhere to sit and eat. Take out only. Would definitely eat there again. Service was great. Friendly and kind staff.

As far as sandwich shops go this place is top of the line..very busy so always a fresh product..they just do sandwiches, they don't try and add unnecessary items to the menu..they stick to what they do best, and that's build sandwiches, and they do it as good as any and better then most..the staff is always friendly and know their customer base very well..it won't take long to feel like you've been coming here for a lifetime!
