Stopped in for lunch. Such a cute spot. Service was fantastic. We shared the Reuben for lunch which was the perfect amount. Best Reuben I’ve ever had. Our waiter was very nice. The restaurant has such a cozy feel to it and the surrounding views are beautiful. Will definitely be back!

We had a delicious breakfast of the breakfast panini and French toast and also stayed in one of their cabins (the loon loft). I have never experienced the type of hospitality Kathy offered us. She was so kind and welcoming, we couldnt have felt more at home! The cabin was so cozy and surrounded by beautiful winter scenery! I can’t recommend this place enough and we will certainly be back!

This was a great restaurant. It was decorated so cute for Christmas. The staff was super friendly. They serve breakfast and lunch. My panini was delicious! We will be back for sure!

Excellent little breakfast and sandwich shop. Stopped here a couple of times after visiting Timms Hill. Had a delicious sandwich each time. Also a selection of desserts. Of course, this is primarily a coffee shop, but as I am sensitive to caffeine I cannot comment on how good their coffee is. Judging by the other reviews, it appears to be good. Service is quite friendly as well. Highly recommended to any highpointers visiting Timms Hill and to tourists and locals in general.

Hill of Beans was really good, even better than we expected. The pancakes are delicious, probably the best pancake batter flavor I have had. It was slightly sweet, almost like funnel cake batter which created a nice caramelized sugar crust on the pancake. The corned beef hash was really good as well. We also had an omelette which was really good and very big being four eggs.

Such a gem of a find. We were driving back home in Minnesota and decided to zig zag some back roads and found this beautiful place. Great food, great coffee, amazing atmosphere, and a gorgeous view!

Ths best breakfast in the northwoods in the most charming setting. In addition to breakfast, they have delicious pie, a big lunch menu and a great Friday fish fry. Gorgeous views of Bass Lake and Timm's Hill plus a little shop area with local products make Hill of Beans a lovely place to stop.

First off, I expected to wait since it was a busy weekend with Omega festival and autumn leaf lookers. I've worked in food service before and completely understand lunch rush. My disappointment was in seating where 3 parties were sat ahead of me (avg 2-4 guests each) bc the small table for 1 wasn't bussed yet?! Staff seemed to have poor communication and no process for seating and bussing/clearing tables. I waited 15 min to ask for a table, then another 20 to be seated, while watching 10 ppl get waited on ahead of me. There were also some smaller parties at big tables, so I don't get the rationale. It was rude and awkward. Once seated, I spoke to a rushed server very briefly. I had to ask multiple staff for water, which was ignored. I also requested my bill from other staff. Upon paying at the register, I was interrupted by another patron looking for special treatment (wanted to look at the cabins, comes every year etc) and was again ignored by staff. The food was good overall but wish I had a better experience with service...

Nice cabins. Great food. Portions are generous. Friendly staff. All cabins are within 10 minute walk of Tim’s Hill and a couple minutes from Bass Lake.

Be prepared, the service isn’t always fast, it’s okay though, take your time and relax in a beautiful quiet environment and enjoy the view and enjoy the wonderful staff. Food is very good.

Quaint place. May have been the day, but it took 1 1/2 hours to get our food. It was good, but not good enough to wait that long. Server was apologetic.

Friday fish fry. I had the shrimp that was good and the walleye was huge and delicious. The pies are AMAZing!

This place is a must. Not only is the view outside absolutely beautiful, the inside is so cozy with two separate dining spaces with different themes. Both are so cozy. The food is wonderful. I've never had a bad meal here. While I don't enjoy corn beef hash, my friends all enjoyed it immensely. I had the wagon wheel platter with the ham steak. Everyone was very impressed with the quality of the pancake and the ham steak. Everyone kept asking for bites! Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. We had 6 people and a dog. We were seated outside and given a large bowl of water for the dog. The waitress was extremely friendly and funny. She did a fantastic job. This place is a hidden gem.

We stumbled across this place while going to the high point of Wisconsin. We decided to stop in for coffee. VERY glad we did. The smell of baked goods when we entered was wonderful. We had coffee and cinnamon rolls. The rolls themselves were delicious but the icing on them was incredible! Very nice and clean place with friendly staff.

We stopped here for dessert after hiking at Timm's hill. They get their pies from the Main St Cafe in bloomer. We enjoyed the blueberry pie and strawberry rhubarb pie with spiced chai and coffee.

Love the location, love the people, love the food. An excellent example of Northwoods Wisconsin hospitality. Gigantic, fluffy pancakes will keep you fueled all day, and the coffee is way better than your typical restaurant variety. Wonderful service from wonderful people!

My mom and I were in the area for a day hike. We stumbled upon this cozy place! And decided to have an impromptu lunch there. The service was great and the food was even better! They also were able to give us more places to check out for hiking!

Had the lunch panini, and it was solid. Only reason for four star is that the food took over an hour to get to us. It was also peak leaf viewing time, the place was packed. Also note...was not able to call restaurant for reservations, phone # did not work.

Delicious breakfast, service rather slow and prices have risen markedly recently (not without good reason, of course). Still, a good overall experience at a very charming restaurant. High marks and a good recommendation.

A rare treat. This restaurant would be a local favorite in any State in the union. Visit this place and imagine: Ak, hidden NJ, coastal Maine. We keep returning.... because the place is a hidden treasure in the North Woods of Wisconsin.

After several recommendations to check this place out we decided to go there for breakfast and we were not disappointed. Not only is the view of Bass lake beautiful but the outdoor accommodations are very reminiscent of old world gardens. Lots of vines, flowers, and plants. Lots of hummingbirds too! We went at 9:30 on a Saturday morning and had our run of the place. It was only about 1/4 full. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They made us feel at home. Incredibly friendly. The food exceeded our expectations not only in quality but in quantity and value. Where else can you get a pancake the size of a plate!?!? It was very good, fluffy yet crispy on the edges and incredibly moist. Probably the best pancake I've ever had. The vegetarian omelette was excellent. FYI we'll behaved dogs are allowed on the outdoor patio so feel free to bring fido. I would highly recommend going here if you are ever in the area. Also check out Tim's Hill since it's only a light hike away too! The highest natural landmark in Wisconsin...

Located at the base of the Tim's Hill, in the back roads of Ogema Wisconsin, this little Café over looks the blissful scene of Bass Lake. The Café offers breakfast, lunch and a Friday night fish fry that are to die for. And for those who truly are as hungry as a bear waking up from hibernation, the behemoth known as the Wagon Wheel will undoubtedly fill your appetite or break your will. The wagon size meal serve at breakfast is accompanied by a side of 2 eggs, toast, meat and some fruit. And take my word, as I neared the final quarter of the beast I fell to its challenge. So all in all the breakfast is bountiful, the lunch is simple but delicious and Friday night fish fry is... well that's for you to try.

This was a nightmare! Made reservations weeks in advance. Our table we had reserved. The people would not leave until 2 hours. The wait staff should have asked them to move. No hostess, so people were just taking tables. Reservations at 5, found a table at 6:30. Had to bus our own table, because we found one outside. The beer bottles were served room temperature. Out of 4 dinners they forgot mine! Baked fish the poor man's dinner. I had to reorder. Then it came back cold. What, they lost the plate? We had dinner around 7 pm. Total mishandling of reservations. They should not take reservations if they could not handle it being short staffed.

The portions are huge! The food is excellent and always the staff is helpful and friendly. Looking forward to my next visit.

Small Town eats. Good food. But wouldn't stop in for a quick bite. Great atmosphere but sadly understaffed and you may have to wait longer than you like. But if you got the time, patience, and they're still serving breakfast. It's a great spot.

A fantastic restaurant of of the beaten path. The view out across.the lake is always breathtaking and the wagon wheel pancake platter can easily feed 3 people. The Hill of Beans is well worth the drive many times over. You can also rent the cabins on the hills overlooking the lake but that business is called High Point Village. Ask your waitress about the cabins if that interests you.

A quant little place in the middle of nowhere with the most spectacular view of a lake with swans and a bald eagle. I thoroughly enjoyed that cup of coffee.

We love this awesome resort. This our 11th year. Great food. Awesome hospitality. And very comfortable log cabins.

We visited Hill of Beans on Sunday for breakfast and fell in love! What a gorgeous atmosphere paired with delicious food! We were with family and made sure to order the "Kathy's Wagon Wheel Platter" so we could experience the giant pancake - we were not disappointed! And it made for delicious leftovers the next morning as well! Looking forward to a trip back in the spring!

Best restaurant in a 40 mile radius bar none. We showed up on a Friday night for fish fry. Apparently, everyone else decided to show up at the same time. They had just allowed the other server to leave due to lack of business early in the night. The remaining server handled every table flawlessly with a smile on her face. The service exceeds any expectation. Now....to the food. Best fish fry we've ever had. And we eat a lot of fish fry. If there is one place to support in the north woods, this is it. Oh, and never pass on the raspberry cream pie. Top notch!

Once again Kathy and the crew made our visit everything we had hoped for. The Christmas decor is tastefully stunning and the food will never disappoint. A perfect atmosphere to relieve the stress of the day.

I’ve been there two weekends in a row! This place is fantastic place to have lunch. I plan on 3 weekends, going to try breakfast This weekend. I sure I’m not going to be disappointed. The owners are some of the nicest people I ever meet. And the staff he has there superb

After hiking Timm’s Hill Trail, we stopped at this wonderful place. The food was fabulous, with the scenery of the lake and changing leaves topped it off. Our waitress, Jana, was awesome. She chatted about the area, owners and great customers. She also suggested a pie I would never had tried, sour cream and raisin! A delicious custard pie with raisins, topped with a meringue. 👍🏼
