Our go to spot. Great food, great price , friendly waiter

Uber order 3 entrees,great cornbread,the sausage with rice and beans was tasty,rice and beans weak on spice and salt .When I say the rest of the order was bland,it was bland! My 2nd opinion agreedalso.Needed salt badly Gravy was bland ,chicken had no seasoning whatsoever.I heard good things about this place but sadly I spent $ 70 on 3 entrees that had no flavor.At the bare minimum salt would have greatly helped.It was packaged well and potions were good however.

I'm in town for work and saw this place. So I looked it up and decided to give it a try, and I gotta tell ya....the best damn red beans and rice with smoked sausage I even eaten....WOW!!! ABSOLUTELY amazing

The food here is delicious! I had jalapeño wings and fried chicken sandwich. It was all amazing. The food came out fast. The server was very helpful.

Im from Houston and this by far holding the crown in every which way. Wings, meatloaf and shrimp fried rice are to die for. Definitely home cooked food by the owners. No picture of the meatloaf I ate it lol

My first time here. I got the BC shrimp alfredo with the house salad. The homemade mustard dressing was delicious. The alfredo was saucy and tasty. I will be coming back to try something else. The restaurant was sort of quiet, no background music.

My husband and I decided to try this based on previous reviews during a quick trip from Pennsylvania..so glad we came here. The food is AWESOME! I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the Shrimp Etouffee. He also had the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo as an appetizer. We shared a side of Red Beans and Rice....all were delicious! And to top it all off for my birthday, I ordered the Tiramisu...it was a huge piece and also delicious. Our server, Mason, was so attentive and polite. Definitely give this place a try...you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I had discovered this place on Grub Hub looking for something new to try. Unfortunately, Grub Hub was a fail. Our driver never delivered and that's just a whole other issue... so my husband had called and explained what happened about an hour before they were closing and they were SUPER nice. VERY welcoming to come on by and they knew the order and would be happy to make it, just allow him 15 minutes and it'd be ready. While waiting for the order the gentleman was SO friendly and had a friendly conversation with my husband. When my husband got back with the food it was AMAZING! The portion size was very good but even better was how good it tasted. Everything was fresh and legit tasted "homemade". I had the trout, zucchini, red beans, and shared a slice of cheese cake. Usually meals like this I finish right away because of a small portion size. This one I have left overs. I'm usually not a cheesecake person but tried a bite of it since my husband ordered it... WOW! BEST CHEESECAKE EVER! Not like those frozen store bought things. It was more of a "fluffy" texture. So what originally turned into an annoying night of not getting our food delivered turned into a blessing in disguise. The bottom line is the food is amazing, worth the price, and the staff is just as amazing. I think we found our new favorite go to spot! Just an update as of 2024 We still love eating here. The food is consistently amazing and the staff is still super friendly. Please stay this way!

Absolutely incredible!!!! Get the corn grits! Actual real home cooked style food! Not national chain restaurant terrible food.. Great quick service. Update: 4-7-21: food and service is still off the charts great. Update again: 3-21-24....nearly 4 years later, the food is still beyond incredible, the service is top notch! The absolute best food in NOLA area

I eat out a lot. (Probably too much). I've been all over the west bank and to many restaurants in New Orleans. So, when I say that the place is awesome, you know where I'm coming from. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the price were all above and beyond!! I had the pasta, my wife the pork chops, amlnd my son a catfish poboy. Throughout the meal, we were commenting how great everything tasted. Don't go there! We don't want it to be crowded when we go back. (Kinda selfish huh?)

Love this place! The meatloaf sandwich is so scrumptious and delicious and my server is always amazing! I have introduced people to this place. And they love it just as much as I do!

The food was not bad, but I found it a bit overpriced for what it offered. The staff, however, were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience.

I had the absolute best Shrimp and Grits ever.

My husband and I just moved to town, and this is one of the first places we’ve gone to. It seemed like a small, quaint place! We went in and got to pick our own table. Our server, Mason, was so sweet and attentive! He recommended his favorites to us, and they did not disappoint! I never order meatloaf, but I took his advice. It was so good! Tons of flavor and very moist! My husband got the chef special gumbo and fried catfish! He loved it as well. Between the food and service, we will definitely be returning soon and often! Thanks to Mason for making the evening even better through your service!

We went 30 minutes before they closed and the food was not that good this time.

LOVE this place. The waiter is always so friendly. The food is amazing as well, it represents its name well, home style cooking. I love their fried catfish(so flaky and moist) and their meatloaf. They’re sides are good too! Prices are also affordable. You gotta stop by!

Had the blackened catfish with red beans and rice, and French fries. Tiramisu for dessert. Very delicious! Great customer service from the gentleman at the cashier too! Highly recommended!

the food is the best there and great service

I've ordered from here before, but it's been awhile. I ordered fried catfish, which was delicious, but next time, I will ask them to fry it harder. I am more of a steamed broccoli guy, and this place sautes theirs. Good flavor, but I still prefer steamed. Mac and cheese was good and cheesy. The corn grits were a lil off for me. Tastes like they use sweet corn and it's a lil sweeter than I would prefer. Overall, it was a pretty good meal and I will definitely not wait as long to go back.

Stopped by here per a recommendation from someone local. Excellent service and great food. Our waiter was courteous and personable; he even explained some interesting lore behind the paintings hanging on the wall. The blackened catfish was sublime! Burger and mac n' cheese were great, but the fries were a little on the soft side and the fried okra was bland.

Not sure if there has been a change in ownership but when they first opened I feel the food was very good. Wasn't that good this time.

Meatloaf. Green beans. Mashed potatoes. House salad with homemade honey mustard! Excellent ! Food was hot. Highly recommend. Stopped in the following week. The gumbo is outstanding! Wow!

Their food is to die for! I always say every time I order something somebody grandma stuck their big toe in this food!! LOL!! I’m NEVER disappointed when ordering from them! Their food is so good we all be full and still trying to sample stuff off of each other’s plates!! Keep making your food with LOVE!! 👌🏽

Decor: From the exterior and interior you wouldn’t expect this restaurant to be anything more than average. Trust me you don’t want to skip this restaurant. I happened to be in the area to pick up my hertz rental car and searched for something with good reviews on both google and yelp; 4.5 stars for both sites. Service: Service was great server was friendly and attentive to all guests I saw him service. He even remembered returning guests preferences. Was served the food by one of the cooks which was another nice interaction. Food: Fried catfish and shrimp entouffee were delicious. The catfish was fried with a crispy batter that was seasoned nicely. The homemade tarter sauce dip paired nicely with the fish. Never had shrimp entouffee but I certainly enjoyed every flavorful bite. Fried chicken with gravy was flavorful and tasty. Paired with fried okra and corn grits. Both sides were solid as well although I feel like the fried okra could use a bit more seasoning and could do without the corn kernels in the grits. Overall portion sizes were great considering the price. Would definitely return if back in the New Orleans area. Really great portions for both entrees for the price

Nice family owned restaurant with great food and a large variety menu.

Really loved the wings! The fried rice was basic and pretty bland. The amount of fries they give with their chicken is child size for the price you pay. . I’ll definitely give them another shot but will dine in in hopes the food is fresher and tastes better

New place for me, SO GLAD I PICKED IT. Fried pork chop wage huge and cooked perfectly. Good seasoning. Fried okra was on point. The Cajun Pasta was also good to go. Obviously no microwaving food here. Can’t wait to come again

I have been dieing to try some down home cooked New Orleans seafood... I finally was able to get my shot & Home Cooking Cafe knocked it out of the park... I tried etouffee for the 1st time... I'm a Lil upset I didn't go for the crawfish version... Next time I think I will go with the seafood gumbo...
