The Homer Bookstore is a great place to find new additions to your personal library, a gift for a friend, or even something special for a non-reader! Aside from a wonderful and broad selection of books for all types (adults, teens, children, researchers, hobbyists, and anyone in between) the Homer Bookstore has puzzles, craft kits, games, greeting cards, journals, stickers, and more!

Everything you’d want in a bookstore and more! This small shop has a great book selection and assortment of cards, puzzles, journals and other goods. My favorites are the ‘Alaska’ section which is fantastic with so many local interest and local authors represented, and the ‘Guaranteed Good’ section with all the staff picks. I’m delighted every time I visit and love to browse here. This weekend, I picked up a cute journal i didn’t know I needed :)

They had a lot of great Alaska-specific books. The staff recommendations are so helpful. I am very excited about "The Soul of the Octopus" I bought. The staff was also super helpful as we made our purchases.

I love this book store! I even find my routine leuchtturm1917 notebook cheaper than on Amazon! The gentleman works there was very nice. Hope they could have more postcard.

(Can we give it 6 stars? We would!) Great selection of Alaska-focused books as well as general books and puzzles and cards. They know books. Sue and the team at Homer Bookstore are practically family. They provide great service by phone and in person, even helping us pick gifts for our local family. The level of service at this independent bookstore (not chain) cannot be beat. They also provide free gift wrapping!

Great variety for a store of its size.

Went in looking for some guidebooks for our boat, came out with a wishlist a mile long! Their bookstore is well organized and sucks you in real good! The owners are exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable, making recommendations for more books on my favorite topics - ones I’d never have know to pick up by their cover! What was REALLY helpful were their notes they’ve left all around the store. I was just talking about wanting to learn more local history, when lo and behold I spotted a note under a book telling me it was the perfect book for me!

It’s a very cute and nice place to buy gifts for loved ones. The staff are really nice and it’s a good place to get books!

Ordered from the lower 48 and received it well and in a timely manner. I absolutely love the map wrapping paper & bookmark such wonderful touches and it is so appreciated!

Just the kind of bookstore I love! Lots of children's materials, many recommended reads by locals and a comfort with you leaning in a corner and reading a bit before buying!! Not a pre-packaged, best seller list standard large commercial bookstore!

This is a very cute and highly inclusive bookstore. It is a cute place for all your book needs and the staff was super friendly. It was also great because they had a post it with info about some books which I found helpful. Although I didn’t end up getting any books I would highly recommend to others.

Well organized books by category. All age groups from children's books, for teens young adults. Was looking for a plant Identification book for Alaska. All types of plant books from simple to scientific/botany plant ID. Good place to spend a whole rainy day.

Absolutely LOVE this Bookstore. The building and their curb appeal is so cute. Definitely stands out. The folks inside had such great customer service. Real small-town atmosphere. They didn’t bother you as you shopped but happily answered any questions. There was so many neat areas as the layout was fun. Especially enjoyed their ALASKA section that was right in front. So many exciting books and even ones signed by Authors. They even had decals and chocolates! 🙂 I would highly recommend this place for anyone to stop by and walk around. There is definitely something there for everyone. I can’t wait to go back again!

*Loved* this bookstore. I got two books on baby names / pregnancy / birth for my husband and a feminist book for my daughter for Christmas, and they even gift-wrapped them for free. I thought it had a pretty good selection for a small bookstore. Would definitely come here again.

I love going to the homer book store. The people are so welcoming and nice. I love it that if they don't have a book you want they will order it. It always smells amazing in there. I have been going there for six years and the hospitality never fails.

I came to the Homer Bookstore hoping to an autographed copy of Eve and Eivin Kilcher's book. Not only did I get an autographed copy but Eivin was there signing copies of the book and personalized my copy!! Made my day🙂 The book seller was very helpful recommending some books on Alaska.

Love shopping in this little local bookstore. The staff is uber helpful and because they are big enough to have several reviewers I find the shelf talkers really helpful. They cheerfully order or hold books for me and also make great recommendations when I'm browsing and ask for suggestions. Nice selection of quick gifts too and really nice gift wrapping service!

Super cute! Good Alaskan section and has a date a book option. The date a book option is a mystery book that you pay a donation for.

This is one of the best bookstores I have ever been in! Really interesting books, well laid out, and friendly staff. We ended up going back three times in a week. The books, from children's to cookbooks to just eye catching titles were well thought out and unique.
