My favorite place to bike to for amazing beer, music, and food at the nearby Cook House. The staff and patrons are genuine and friendly, and the proximity to the river and overall atmosphere is just amazing.

Decided to stop on our way from Madison to Monroe . Nestled along the Sugar River in Paoli Wisconsin,this is a small Tap room that offers outdoor and indoor seating and live music on the weekends . Hops are locally grown and beer is brewed in small batches. My wife was excited they had Gluten Free beer. We bought a few bottles to bring home. Cost 6.00 each. Small local craft shops are scattered thru out the area along with a kitchen featuring smoked pork and brisket. Their beer options rotate throughout the year which is another reason to stop in and see what they have.

Instructions for your next free warm evening: (1) go to Paoli, (2) buy a "John Steinbeck" candle at the local shop, (3) go to Hop Garden and order a pint of Dusk Bunny, then (4) have a seat at a picnic table facing the Sugar River and contemplate the meaning of life (or just pet all the pups that walk by) next to the lit candle while the sun sets behind you.

Love the outside space...you can listen to music and drink beer. Fun outside atmosphere! The beer on the other hand is very underwhelming I am sad to say. I have stopped here a good amount of times over the past few years, and the beer is just not good. My partner had a beer that tasted of mildew...ugh. my beer recently was an imperial that really was just meh. I keep going cuz I support local breweries, but it really is hard to drink the beer here.

I first came here on a whim on a bike ride down from Madison and I was blown away. The most immaculate summer vibes you could possibly imagine. Great outdoor seating, live music, beer, margaritas, tacos, ice cream, the river...doesn't get any better. For the bicyclists: If you're coming here via the Badger State Trail, there is a way to access the road leading to Paoli...just be careful of tree branches :)

Stopped on New Year's day not expecting them to be open but they were! Had a couple of delicious beers, the staff was super friendly and can't wait to visit when it is nice out

First time...won't be the last - really good beer and a nice variety - very interesting/unique building on the inside - look forward to next summer because the outdoor space looks great - very nice staff

What a hidden gem! Amazing beers, very reasonable prices, and an awesome outdoor space for live music. The nearby taco spot and chocolate shop are perfect stops right next door as well. Great place to spend an afternoon.

Absolutely amazing!! The seasonal pumpkin beer has a great smoked flavor in addition to a light spice flavor, not too overpowering, just right!! It's not in bottles or cans so we got a growler to go! Cozy indoors and a beautiful patio and grassy area to enjoy it outside!

Very nice property on the Sugar River to spend a beautiful Summers evening! Very nice staff. Not bad pricing on there products of a type, beer, mixed drinks, food, sweets, etc. Nice place for outdoor live music. We saw the "Alpha Romeo's" very good area cover band. I will be back in the future. Check it out. Also other art gallery's in the immediate vicinity worth checking out too.

An amazing location. They have a cute boutique, chocolate shop, ice cream, Mexican take out restaurant, bar, and tap room. The beers were great and they have affordable 6 packs to take home as well. We sat on a picnic table along the sugar river where the pups could swim while I enjoyed my beer. Super shady and great to bring your dogs.

The Hop Garden is amazing. The beautiful natural space, historic buildings, and friendly people create a wonderful atmosphere to spend time with friends and family. They have beer, wine, cocktails, art, and a taqueria. They also have ice cream so there is something for everyone. My kids had a wonderful time playing by the water which is not deep by the shore so it felt very safe. They also have live music. I would recommend garden boots for your kids or shoes that you don't mind getting muddy.

Wonderful outdoor space and great beer on tap. The taproom is in an old brick house with private event seating upstairs. There’s great tasting tacos in the neighboring building upstairs and a gem of a cocktail lounge hidden in the shop kitty corner. Perfect on a nice day with live music.

Super-tasty beer and a beautiful, chill locale. The owner and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Locally grown hops and locally brewed beer equal tastiness and good vibes. Also enjoy some awesome eats at Paoli Bread and Brat Haus and incredible baked goods from Sugar River Country Bakery...be sure to get sconed.

This is an awesome place. First the beer. It's really good. They have at least a half dozen of their own beers on tap. They are excellent and you can take them the go in a growler or now a bag! They have cans as well. There is a park with tables right there where you can sit. They also have live music under the trees which is also a lot of fun. A small restaurant serves food which goes really well with the beer. This place is a hidden gem and one of my favorite places.

One of our favorite spots to enjoy a tasty beer and listen to live music. When it comes to their beers they focus on quality over quantity. All are great tasting and go down easy. They provide fun table games and stump. I’ve even made s’mores over a fire in February. Definitely a great place to enjoy a cold one.

Cozy place in a great location, excellent beer! Try the Nuggetopia, it's a great refreshing IPA.

For a pretty minimalist taproom, this place is a fantastic spot to spend a Saturday, especially in the summer time. Beers are still a bit of a work in progress, but the Nuggetopia is a great one and you'll surely get some great service.

Great beer for such a small brewery. Amazing brisket and ice cream. We stopped here on the way home from New Glarus and loved the vibe so much more than the larger breweries.

Me and my fiancé went there at 330 but it opens at 4 so didn’t stick around but had a nice patio and grass area for my dog to run around. Also on the river which is very pleasant looked great

Really fun place to visit. Came here for a company event and had a great time. Their food was good, nothing out of this world. The beer was also very good but not anything that I’ll seek out. However, their location was awesome. It’s tucked away, private, but also open so you can play cornhole, ladderball, etc. They also brought out hammerslagger which was a blast. Great venue that will not disappoint.

I wasn't a fan of their beers but they do carry some cans of domestics so i settled for that.

We stumbled upon this place on our way back from New Glarus brewery. This was so much better! You feel like you're in someone's back yard. Everyone is friendly, they accept dogs and they had live music! We had some food there (grilled cheese and smoked pork), that was decent. Their beer is pretty good too :) Definitely a place to visit if you're passing through. I believe it is also a nice bike ride from Madison.

What a charming place to imbibe Wisconsin's favorite adult beverage! Installed within an historic building alongside the banks of the Sugar River, beer is made here with locally grown hops. Often, too (I think once a week in the Summer months), is live music. To chill outside while listening to local performers and drink craft beer is just about as good as Summer in Wisconsin gets. Too cool. I love this place -- I think you will too.

At this hard to find location, you will find unique beers on tap with regular live music and one of the most beautiful locations to drink a beer south of Madison.

I am sometimes skeptical of some of the newer brewery start-ups, but this one is definitely worth a try! I started with their Festive Ale which was great for the warm day. Then I sampled their take on shandy, which was an interesting blend of kombucha tea and light ale that the bartender mixes in front of you - much better than pre-mixed versions!

Really cool little spot that has locally made beer on draft. I have been a few times for different events they have hosted on weekends. Last time I was there they had a chili cook off as well as a few bands rotating throughout the afternoon. For sure a must visit if you are in the area.
