We found this place our last night in Cody. We wish we'd found it our first day! We love mom & pop small businesses. Especially this one! Great, friendly service (met one of the owners, Alicia. Super cool, down to 🌎). My son got a 16" peperoni pizza, my wife got a 12" BBQ chicken pizza, while I got a 16" veggie. All were steaming hot and delicious! The reviews are accurate! The Hungry Bear serves some awesome food! ~ forget the Thai, Chinese buffet, grandma's places. They are nothing special and don't compare to the HB!

A hidden gem in Cody and our family loved the food. Quite a lot of selection of salads combined with fried or grilled chicken, chillie among others. The shrimp and chicken baskets are also excellent. The time we came, the restaurant was full and we had to wait a bit. A customer walked by and told us that ‘it was worth to wait’ - which was so very true.

Very nice mom and pop place. Nice waitress and service! I got the avocado taco salad, my friend got the chicken strip basket, and then the husband's got the calzones. Delicious food all around! Keep doing what you're doing!

Nice little breakfast & lunch cafe- reasonable prices, right off main highway. Staff friendly & service quick . Closed from 10 am-11 am to switch over for lunch.

We just love this restaurant. Every time we eat here, we aren't disappointed ever. The food is great. The menu has so many different choices to choose from. We had the chocolate cake with ice cream with a raspberry drizzle, and the presentation was that of a 5 star restaurant. We were very impressed as always. The owners have become good friends of ours. Alicia, Michael, and Cindy are awesome people. It's like eating with family every time we eat there. I recommend eating here anytime you want a great dining experience in Cody.

What a treat! Got the meat breakfast (basically a grand slam with a crapton more meat) and was super stoked with how tasty it was and the high quality meat. The meal was also reasonably priced!

H.B.R. is as close to homemade goodness as you can get! The atmosphere is always warm & friendly & the ladies treat you like family. 👍

Hands down THE BEST Italian Sub in the northern Big Horn Basin if not the entire Big Horn Basin! Their Pickle Fries are a culinary treat if you enjoy Fried Pickles too! The entire staff are knowledgeable, friendly and do their respective jobs amazingly well. I do my best to eat there any time I am in Cody.

Good Food. Very slow service this time but they were slammed. Only one waitress as well. It's sad that there's not much help out there to come to work.

Nice lil place off the beaten path of touristy main street. We had the best burgers! Definitely hand pressed beef. We haven't had the pizza, but a couple next to us ordered one, and that looked amazing!

During the summer, there's a bit of a wait which is typical everywhere around town. The food is worth the wait though. Great pasta, and pizzas. The sandwiches are always a good go to if you're not wanting to have a heavy meal. The staff are always friendly and make you feel at home even when they're busy. One of my favorite places in town to eat. T

First of all, know that this is a family run small business. The family is really nice, the woman is the hostess and ONLY server but she is very efficient, and the kids (8-14yrs maybe) are respectful and helpful when they can be. Came here after a disappointing experience the previous day in downtown Cody, and I wish we had gone with our gut the first time. This is a few miles off the main drag, but completely worth it. The hours are a little strange, closed from 10-11 and again from 3-4 in order to "reset" for lunch and dinner. We came for breakfast and ordered a scramble and one of their specialties. The scramble came with hashbrowns and toast - perfectly acceptable. The hashbrown/biscuit/egg/bacon/gravy dish was delicious. The biscuits are very flaky and buttery, the hashbrowns crispy, but the gravy is lacking a little flavor. We also ordered a pancake because we are always in search of "the best". These are HUGE first of all, and have a sweet "cake batter" flavor (we just put some butter on it, no syrup). They are not my fave, but I am extremely particular when it comes to pancakes. Great little place, you can tell it's a local gem and I would definitely recommend. Call to make sure they are open because the hours posted online are not accurate.

What a great place. Just a bit off the beaten path in Cody, but we'll worth the visit. I ordered the Ultimate Burger as pictured and was NOT disappointed. It was hot and fresh and not made from the typical pre-frozen and formed patties thank goodness unlike most chain restaurants. Services was excellent as our waitress was very kind and cheerful even though it was almost closing time when we got there. All around a must visit if you are in Cody!! Highly recommended!!

Alicia’s pizza and pasta is so unique, and is so good. It is a must try. The service is also amazing. you could tell the waitress was excited over the opportunity of us ordering Alicia’s food (for good reason). Overall an amazing experience.

We chose this restaurant for lunch because it had good reviews as we drove through Cody on our way to Yellowstone. Fantastic food and service.

First time trying Hungry Bear for lunch and it was delicious and affordable compared to other places in town that charge more for less. Tons of choices on their menu and I can't wait to come back again to try something else. They even have take n bake pizza which I'm definitely going to try next time when I need a pizza fix.

A very tasty breakfast scramble at a reasonable price.

After hearing several great things about the food, we decided to try Hungry Bear last evening for dinner. Two gals behind the register noticed us when we walked in, but we had to wait several minutes before one decided to seat us even though tables were available. Once seated, we were not given menus, and again, after waiting several minutes, we had to ask for menus. 10 minutes later, our drink order was taken. 20 minutes later, after watching the waitress waste time going from one table to take an order then go to the kitchen to place the order then stop and look at this or that then decide to come out to take another table's order, we decided to leave. There were three more tables seated ahead of us, so we would have been waiting another 20 minutes or more before our order was taken. We hear the food is great, but I'm not sure the poor service is worth the wait. Very disappointed and don't know that we will stop again. Similar comments about the service and wait are posted.

Price gouging at its finest! $12 ravioli for kids meal mind you only get 2 raviolis. If you don’t mind waiting 20 mins for a menu then this is your place.

My partner and I stopped into this restaurant while driving through Cody and we are glad this is the one we picked!!!! The service was awesome and the people were very friendly and welcoming. He also got this MONSTER BURGER!!! So delicious. Such kind people with positive attitudes and also such a nice environment. Definitely stop in here if you need a good bite!!

Dinner was so good here! The crazy Italian was massive and so filling. The desserts are homemade and worth the extra calories lol. Good service too!

We arrived at 8am on a Saturday we where seated quickly drinks served right away and order taken without hesitation. Food was served hot and was extremely delicious and big portions. Our coffee cups where always full and hot. Very amazing and wonderful experience for a small hole in the wall gem of a restaurant. DEFINITELY coming back

This isn't 'fast' food, but it is delicious food. We've been twice so far and it is now our favorite place in town. We've had pasta, salad, and pizza and all were excellent. This is clearly a family run restaurant and they are all friendly and professional. The wait was a bit long, but we were ordering during peak dining hours, but that is to be expected. It seems like they know most of the diners by name, so you get the idea, this is where the locals go when they want a break from the kitchen.

Must stop in here! Everyone here was so friendly and helpful, it's a family run operation and you can definitely tell they care. We came in fairly late but we were seated relatively quickly. I will say, they were super busy so it wasn't the fastest but they made up for it with the friendly folks and great food. They have a fantastic kids menu that will please the pickiest of eaters and the adult menu is great as well. I had a small pizza and I must say it was the best I had during my stay in Cody, it was delicious. My wife had the manicotti and she said it was great as well.

We needed a pretty large order to go (for 5 people) and originally called another place in town first. They said they were too busy to do a to go order, so we called The Hungry Bear. They were more than happy to help us! When we picked up the food and drinks they were very friendly. We all had something different and it was all delicious!! There was a small error with our order but they went out of their way to make it right! We are from out of state, but if we lived here we would absolutely be back!

Friendly and family run, they have a great menu with a lot of crowd pleasers! The steak wrap was so good with BBQ sauce and my husband really enjoyed his meatball sub.

Local gem!! Been twice in 2 days, because the food is so good! We wanted to try everything but leaving tomorrow! 😪 Calzone, lasagna, spaghetti burgers & fish sandwiches are good. The waitress is so friendly & genuine. All the locals come here!

The breakfast is hands down one of the best I have ever had. Our waitress was great and extremely kind. If you are in the area and want a great breakfast you need to stop at this joint. Worth every penny. I know I plan on stopping back here before I leave town. I had the wyoming omelet with chili on it.

I bet the food is great. But after 20 minutes of sitting there waiting be to served. We had a to leave. It was not busy, we were brought drinks and I asked to order an appetizer. The waitress said she will be back in a minute to take my order. 20 minutes later she still hasn’t taken the orders for three other tables in the restaurant. She might be a new server but this was just not a good experience!

The people were friendly. The service was ok. It's a very small dine-in. The place was clean. The menu was vague and overpriced. It seems like everything is battered and fried. I got the "steak basket". I asked what that was and the waitress said "it means it comes with fries". It was a basket of fries with floured and fried steak. Disappointing. The majority of the food seemed like it was bought frozen (fish, shrimp, meatballs etc). It tasted like everything was fried in the same oil - the fish, the fries, the steak. So everything tasted off. The hot dogs were decent. I won't be going back.

What a great find! Had the Ultimate Burger and I gotta say it's not only the biggest burger I've ever had but also one of the best. With a large menu, fast and friendly service, and good food, you'll have a hard time finding a better place in Cody.

My granddaughter loves the mac and cheese and I had a wonderful salad with grilled chicken. More than ample for us both! Very nice staff. 🙂
