Great place to bring family to see the water activity in the canal, great food, great atmosphere

Had the macdaddy burger and it was really good with lots of flavor. It's kinda messy but thats ok.

Service was great but I would not recommend the Coconut Shrimp. Coating was good but the shrimp was seriously undercooked. Almost raw. Tried to say something to the wait staff but she hurried off once check was paid.

They gave us a menu that said they served steamed shrimp. When we ordered it, they informed us that you can't get what's on the menu, only cold. Why have it on a menu, if you can't get it? Food was sub-par at best. Wings were edible but nothing special. Over priced, over hyped, and just glad it's over. Don't waste your time or money.

The shrimp cocktail was amazing and so was Shannon our bartender. Definitely going back

What a great place to have some fruity fun drinks and lunch!

I met a friend at this restaurant. It was a Thursday at lunchtime. Our order was taken in a timely manner, and we received our food quickly. I ordered the chicken bacon avacdo sandwich. It came without avocado. We were offered a drink refill one time. Since they weren't busy at all (only 4 other tables occupied), we sat and got caught up on things. We were there probably 2 1/12 hours, but they didn't need our table, so we thought it would be ok. About 2 hours after being seated, the manager peeked around the corner and asked if we were ok. He could see our drinks were empty, and we had paid our bill, so I assume he was trying to hurry us out. If that is they way they are when the restaurant is mostly empty, I sure wouldn't want to go when it is busy. Food was typical of that kind of restaurant.

Our first time at Hurricanes was wonderful. It was a Saturday afternoon and we have been wanting to go by boat since we keep a boat close (Tavares Marina), but haven't yet. It looked pretty busy by the number of cars in the parking lot, but it really wasn't because it is much larger on the inside than it looks from the outside. We sat at the inside bar and Alexis (pretty sure that was her name) took awesome care of us while also making drinks for the dining room. We ordered a couple of drinks then lunch, all were really good. I had the Old Bay Peel and Eat Shrimp and my wife had the 3 piece chicken tender basket. All of it was delicious! There was a guy playing live music on the deck which was moderately full of people eating and drinking, not too loud but just right on sound level so you could enjoy the live music but still talk to the people at your table. Finally, the docks out back were available for docking while visiting and plentiful. Awesome atmosphere, great food and friendly staff. We will be back for my birthday next Sunday for lunch hopefully in the boat this time!!

The food isn't the greatest to be honest. It's high priced for what you are getting. $11 pretzel that was almost burnt and no salt at all. Chicken quesadilla taste like canned chicken. Won't be back for awhile

Joe was our server and was excellent! Ask for Joe And the food was so good! Gridiron wings, chimicurasco steak, and cease salads...all 👍

We ate under the covered lanai during a very overcast Tuesday, in Tavares, FL. With the fan blowing, the outdoor climate was perfect for July. My husband and I both wanted wings. NEWSFLASH! Hurricane does not charge an upcharge for selecting either flats or drums!! And I was so pleasantly pleased that our drums were quite large, plump and piping hot/fresh! Our server, Laci, helped us maximize our dining experience by recommending making our individual orders into a meal. We are regulars here, but today was just really attentive and personalized.

Great fun to have here! We tried the chips with salsa and guacamole, delicious 😋 Mozzarella sticks with warm marinara were great! Tiki coconut tacos 🌮 with pineapple were really fun to try. The Mac Daddy burger got a 5 star rave review. Kids burger and quesidilla were devoured! Great views fun people. Great friendly staff. Definitely highly recommend!

Took a long time to get food. $12 pretzel hard as a rock- couldn't eat. Server said he noticed that and took it off the bill. Both meals had soggy hamburger buns.

I order a burger that dis not mention any sauce or spice. I received a well done burger with tons of spice. Mushrooms had onions which I didn't order. Manager Renda the manager had no remorse and no customer service skills. I had to get another burger with no spice. I had to watch everyone eat and wait!!! I had given my burger to my employee who ordered a full meal. But than Renda said she had to return it!!! Are u kidding me??? She told me it was a corporate requirement! I then asked what do I get for waiting for my meal as everyone ate ! RENDA FINALLY DECIDED SHE WOULD REMOVE MY BURGER AFTER SHE THREATEN WHAT IS MY NAME SO SHE CAN COMPLAIN TO FREEDOM BAOT CLUB! I DIDNT GIVE HER MY NAME BUT NIE U CAN!

Fun environment, good food, decent prices, and the best part is the view / drive up boat parking.

Hair in both my daughters meals burger meal and kids meal macaroni then nobody else at table wanted to eat my wife tried ordering storm they couldn't make it without cheese sticks waitress couldn't keep order right bad experience hope things get better years ago about 10 it was good place to eat

I have been here many times and have ALWAYS been extremely satisfied with the meal, drinks, and service. They are consistently great here. The atmosphere is really nice both indoors and outdoors. Love this place!

Really loved this stop. The food and service were great. Right on a lake.

I ordered the steakburger with fries. Fries were not fresh; limp and barely warm. I ordered the burger cooked medium (undercooked, solid pink inside entirely) with no cheese (they still put some kind of orange cheese on it anyway), tomato, lettuce, sautéed onions, and sautéed mushrooms. There were enough onions for two burgers. There were not many mushrooms at all. And the worst part was, an old, overcooked, hard mushroom found its way into my basket with my burger; which tells me, they do NOT clean their kitchen much. That nasty mushroom should have been in the trash if they bothered to scrape or wipe the griddle or pan between orders, NOT in with my food! 🤮 Lastly, the waitress never took notice or bothered to refill my empty drink glass. When you can get better food at a fast food restaurant and at a cheaper price, it's not worth going back to this one. Now I know why they participate in so many marketing gimmicks (i.e. Upside, Groupon+).

I took my kids for dessert and to meet up with a friend. Our waitress was super friendly, service was excellent. We will definitely be back soon to try out other options on the menu!

We have eaten at Hurricanes several times. We enjoy the environment and live music on the weekend. Very kid friendly establishment. Our most recent visit the food was not very in comparison to prior visits.

We have been driving by hurricane dockside grill for some time and decided to finally stop in. Pretty good size place inside lots of Open seats available. We were told it was going to be 45 minutes but ended up being seated within about 10 minutes. We ordered the grilled shrimp and the coconut shrimp and 2 ice teas, Whatever seasoning they had on the grilled shrimp I did not like it all, I sent them back. The coconut shrimp was definitely frozen, very soggy. It was just mush ,the ice tea's I don't know what they put in them, but they were not good. We ended up asking for plain water. We explained to the waitress. And she ended up taking the one meal off the bill when she finally returned, Lots of workers standing around the hostess stand talking, playing on thair phones,That's just my opinion.

We had a good time. Was on the way home from a long ride on the Harley and stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Food was good, service was quick and overall we were happy. Have been here in the past so that's why we stopped in again. Great place to meet up with friends in the area. Good views of the water too.

Burgers were delicious! Our server was kind. It was a little hot on the side we sat indoors, but I think it's because we were near a door. Other than that super comfortable, delicious food and great attentive servers.

Super cute place! I'm so glad we stumbled upon this gem. We sat outside, they had live music, boats coming and going from the nearby dock, a small sand area for kids. Service was perfect and the food was great.

Atmosphere was nice we enjoyed the scenery. Looked for alligators, saw beautiful birds. Food was good and the wait staff was nice. It was a beautiful day to sit outside.

First time I was ever here even though I lived in the area for over 5 years. I highly recommend it atmosphere was great good service and great choice of menu. I’m going back again next week.

Fair 👎 food items mostly bar food. Beach volleyball area nice ...but food too expensive & not very good for the prices they charge$$$*** Never chicken wings 🪽 😩 we probably will not be back 😢

Our soccer team called ahead to ask if they could seat our team (about 40 players and parents). We were assured that space would be available for us when we arrived around noon. When our group arrived we found that our space had been given to a softball team and were told that they did not take reservations however they would allow us to use the party space for $100. The hostess was snippy to one of our parents with this interaction. Why would we pay $100 for space when we were told the space was available for us, especially with the rudeness that was received. This business will not be visited again.

My food was in front of me in less than 5 minutes from ordering! Lacy and Sea were INCREDIBLE! If you come to Tavares, it's a MUST visit

Brought the boat right to the dock and parked Hurricanes Bar and Grill offers an exceptional dining experience. The crab cakes are superb, with a perfect blend of crispy exterior and tender, flavorful crab meat. The clam strips are fresh and lightly breaded, served with a delicious cocktail sauce. The fish and chips are outstanding, featuring flaky fish in a light, crispy batter and perfectly seasoned chips. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere complete the experience. Highly recommended! Five stars!

A very Pleasant Meal. The waitress didn't even need to write down our order . She remembered everything .Very attentive. All the food for 4 of us came out same time . Everything hot . Served Beautiful . Staff looked happy , pleasant and aware of everyone . Clean . Gardens groomed & maintained . Tables clean . Floors swept . Door handles clean .

We take boat trips on the lakes, about ten pontoons and at least 50 people. We enjoy going to the Hurricane on Lake Harris at Dead River. Food is always great and sometimes they will have a entertainer on the deck. Harbor Oaks HOA

I enjoyed my visit to hurricanes although the only drawback was the distance to actually get into the restaurant and a long walk to get to the bathroom . It made it difficult for me since I have an issue with walking long distances

Decent place. Food was good. 4.5. Service was somewhat disorganized and the server did not return to the table of ten for 25 minutes. Street Corn was a no go. Everything else was cooked to order

Rented a pontoon boat an took my daughter and two grand babies for lunch. Boat slips were great as I am an amateur. Service was great.Place was clean. Food was awesome. And best price I have paid locally for us around.Will be back soon!!

The cook must have dropped the salt shaker into all the food! Or salt was on sale. All the food was extremely heavy in salt! You can tell the server's are stretched thin. They clearly are trying. Mixed drinks were very good!

Very busy today. The service was excellent. The food was great. Everyone got what they ordered and the food came out hot. 7 people in our party and all the food came out the same time. Live entertainment today. Everyone’s food was cooked to perfection.

We love the food and the ambience of this place! I'm not normally an outdoor seating kind of guy, but Hurricane's lake view dining is a must-do! Watching the boats come and go while you eat is a lot of fun, and they have sports on every channel at the outdoor bar!

Worst margarita ever! We ordered 3 margaritas for our table of 4. They were see through - barely green even. No flavor of margarita mix whatsoever. Couldn't taste the tequila, either. We bought 3 extra shots of tequila & added them into the drinks which helped a little bit. We should have sent the drinks back. Our server was wonderful, food was very good, as always. Will never order a margarita there again. So disappointing. And, in an interesting twist, a friend told me later (without me asking) that she & a friend had similarly disappointing margaritas at an Orlando location of Hurricane's. So apparently this is how they make them.

Popular family-friendly bar and grill with great pub food, friendly service, and fun tiki-bar atmosphere. Seating inside and out. Amazing Key Lime Come by car or boat! Highly recommended! Don't feed the gators!

This place has been good. Our server let us peruse the menu as long as we liked. The food came out hot and tasty. We tried a couple of new dishes to us and we were amazed at the meal. The presentation was great.

Second time here on our vacations to the south. Love hurricane dockside food is good, and sitting outside on the patio is amazing! Will more than likely make it here everytime we're down.

Food (for everyone at the table) was over cooked, dry, and sloppily presented. Our waiter acted like he hated his job, and was very short and unfriendly. Hurricanes in Apopka is MUCH better. The property is unique and in a beautiful location, but not enough to make me want to go back.

My wife had a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich that was so salty and grease soaked that she could not eat but a couple of bites. Fries overcooked and hard. Me, I had a Blackened Mahi Mahi Sandwich. The fish was so over cooked and dry, making it inedible, combined with overly cooked fries. Throughout the entire meal, the server never came to check up as to how we were doing until time to pay. She collected my credit card to square away the bill. When she brought me the receipt, my card was missing. I had to chase her dow to ask where my card was. She claimed she gave it back to me, but then found it laying on the floor by the register station. Summary: Poor Food & Poor Service.

We go for the atmosphere. We just had wings and fries but these were great. I will say it fries came out cold but the waitress asked us to try them because she suspected so and got us a fresh batch quickly. I appreciated her being on the ball.

This is at least our third visit to Hurricanes since January! I love their crab cakes and order them every time! Yesterday evening, the crab cakes were disappointing! They were very hot and spicy. You could barely taste the crab meat. The cook ruined them!

We've only been there by boat, but it's a really cool place with great food!! Service was awesome also.

We have always loved this place. Unfortunately the last couple times we have been disappointed in the quality of the service and especially the food. I hope they will fix these issues because it’s a great spot.

Fun place to have drinks and a bite

This out of the way place an unexpected great place for food and great service.

We had burgers and tea nothing to extraordinary tea was nasty burger was ok. nothing to brag about but it was good.

We stopped to have drinks and dinner off the boat. Always had great service. Told we could sit at the bar. Michelle told us we couldn’t order food. We had to wait 45 minutes. Not 5 minutes later 4 orders of food were delivered. Unfortunately, it will be my last visit to this hurricanes and my friends from out of town couldn’t believe that is what we were told.

Extremely busy weekend and the food came out surprisingly quick. Always a great stop while boating.

Great food, waterfront dining, good prices. Live music when the weather is nice. Dog friendly outdoor dining, too! Their wings are really good. I had boneless wings, and they were very tender. The mild sauce was so good and tasted like it had something sweet mixed in, maybe a little honey. My husband had the bone-in wings, and he said they were very good with the garlic parmesan sauce. Our service was good.

Great place to eat. Wasn’t thrilled with Mac n cheese bites covered in nacho cheese sauce but ribs were good. First pretzel came out well done but was easily corrected by the great staff

Wonderful spot on the water with great food!

The first several visits to Hurricane Dockside Grill were a very good. Good parking, clean facility and good food and service. This last trip however I have to revise it down to three stars. Atmosphere is good, service was okay, but I did not receive the meal that I ordered. Been seeing a trend of this where one server takes the order, somebody else brings it out, and you see the server an hour later when they ask if anything is okay. Kind of late to remake a simple Burger. Maybe in the future you could have the kitchen verify exactly what the customer ordered.
