Our meal was excellent. Everyone had something different. Stir fried beef and brocolli was a hit. My overly optomistic meal consisted of grilled pork spring rolls to start (very nice), the small pho with shrimp, which had an extremely generous number of plump medium shrimp in it, and then the major entree of mixed seafood over rice noodle cake, which was just superb. The sauce was a personal best for me. Our waitress, Lena Nguyen, was very helpful with those that were not familiar with Vietnamese food and helped modify a dish or two to accomodate each taste. Lesson learned....order the flan early if you can....it was sold out, leading me to try the Avocado Coffee, which was a unique experience. Overall we had a very nice meal enhanced by excellent waitress.

Over rated. I have tried all midtown venanese restaurants. This place is more expensive but food is not that much better.

One of my favorite restaurants in Houston. The food is incredible.

Came in at 5pm on a Saturday, parking was available and I was promptly seated. I already knew what I wanted and let the waiter know. I ordered the Phoenix chicken, coffee w/milk, a mango smoothie, and for dessert, the flan. My server had the drinks out in 5 minutes and my meal arrived in about 10 minutes. Everything was incredible and fresh, and the service matched as well. After my meal I was brought the flan which was fantastic! I plan on returning whenever I find myself near the Toyota Center; what a gem of a restaurant!

A mainstay of old Chinatown or EADO of Houston, this Vietnamese family restaurant is fantastic. The menu is diverse and full of traditional and fusion based Vietnamese dishes. The staff are all fluent or partially fluent in Vietnamese so try out your skills on ordering before traveling to the home country. The owner has an interesting story for why he opened this restaurant as well. I highly recommend their rice dish with beef or pork—comes with jalapeno for spice. Add a fried egg (Korean style) for an extra zip. Food comes out quick, so if you order a traditional Vietnamese coffee, prepare to wait to drink it while it drips through—as you enjoy your dish already in front of you. Warning: parking is garbage. Shared lot with Pizza Hut and a corner store. Be prepared to walk a block if necessary.

Excellent Houston staple. Good home-cooked Vietnamese food served by the best people. The waiters will most likely suggest you try a desert, and you should totally do it. You won’t be disappointed! Also BYOB!

My second visit. Vist two was great. Lena took great care of us and even recommended a dish. Her favorite and it was perfect. Will be back to see her. My new favorite lunch spot downtown.

I had to visit this spot twice while I was here. It’s that good! I had number 58 both times, the spring rolls chicken and shrimp, the lemonade, and the smoothies were good I tasted the mango, but I had the soursop. Everything was great. Customer service was hands down. The second time we went we showed up 10 minutes before closing, but they made an exception and let us in.

Came here from Miami to visit, stopped by this restaurant was so good we came back again before we ended our trip. Everyone was super sweet, the service is fast and the food is super hot.

Great little vietnamese restaurant in Houston just out of the downtown area. Service was friendly, polite and efficient. We visited Huynh after a long day of travel and various frustrating barriers so it was great to find this little place. The food was great and quick and it definitely hit the spot. There was also a decent sized vegetarian menu for my partner, which isn't always common at vietnamese restaurants. This was definitely one of the best meals we had while visiting the city. Would love to be able to eat here again! ❤️

The staff are so polite and and they take you to a table as soon as you enter. While we were going through the menu there were 3 waiters who came and checked if we had been reached out by any waiter and if we ordered our drinks to start with. It was good. Food was awesome and we can visit the Place again. It really tasted too good and the spice levels can be adjusted as per your need. The ambience is good and the prices too. You can give a visit if you like Asian food.

Good food, good atmosphere, car got towed... Went across the street for one beer, came back at 10pm, car was gone, seems pretty insane.

I got their Vietnamese soup. Very good flavor. Not to mention, you are able to customize your soup with any choice of noodles and protein. Ordered over the phone and picked it up in 10 minutes. Highly recommend. 10/10

Hidden gem in downtown Houston's east side!

The BEST Vietnamese food in Houston. I've been to so many Vietnamese restaurants in Houston, but Huynh Restaurant is the best of the best. The flavor of the pho broth is phenomenal. Even though the location in EaDo is a little out of the way for me, it's always worth the trip over a disappointing meal at someplace closer (i.e. Moon Rabbit 🤮 or Pho Binh - broth is flat and lacks depth). I recommend the Mango smoothie, beef tenderloin, bo bun hue, seafood pho and regular pho.

Parking is very difficult, and they have a guy that stand in parking spaces telling patrons they can not park in the spot as it’s for someone else

The service was superior. The staff roams the floor and a server was always available. The food is delicious. The duck salad is out of this world. BTW-it is more of a perfect little crunchy vegetable dish with crispy duck embellishment. My buddy & I ate every tiny morsel. Huynh's is worth the effort. I loved it.

The best Vietnamese food in America! It is unique and very different from typical Vietnamese restaurants. The flavors are next level. Service was top notch! I love all the waiters there. They seem genuinely happy to serve their customers. They work really hard, always with a smile. It makes the good experience even better.

The best Pho I’ve had in Houston. It had an incredible amount of depth in the broth and the ability to add up to four types of meat (for no extra cost) was amazing. I would also highly recommend the #82 particularly if you’re a vegetarian. I was skeptical when I first pulled up but the inside is actually quite nice and has a great ambiance. Excellent service as well.

I visited for lunch withy coworkers. The host was friendly and it was busy, but we were seated in about 15 minutes. It was my first visit and I ordered the 85 which was a vegetarian dish with noodles; I opted out of the tofu. The sauce that was on the vegetables was not good; lacked flavor except for the spice. The sauce also left an aftertaste and quickly thickened to a gravy consistency as the dish cooled. We were seated in a corner and no way came to check on the table the entire meal. When we were finally able to flag down a waiter, I informed them that I didn’t like the dish. He took the plate and disappeared. Another gentleman brought the tickets and we went to the register. My coworkers paid for their meals and then the hostess informs me that I owe $18 for a meal that was not eaten. The waiter should have informed me that I would have still be responsible for payment and I could have at least given the meal away instead of it being thrown away. I do not recommend.

Although a busy restaurant it was not noisy, and we were seated quickly and our service was spot on. Our appetizer, Goi Vit (pulled duck) was definitely a 5 star rating. It was fresh and delicious. Our Pho ( I had tai, chin and gau and hubby had meatball) was just above average. Our dessert, flan, was good, but nothing special. We will be back, to try different dishes, which in the opinion of one of the servers, after the fact, are more tasty than the pho.

I'm not even trying to oversell when I say Huynh is my favorite restaurant in Houston! My favs are #57 and #5 It's great for either dining in or taking it to go The staff are also so nice and attentive:) They're a family owned and run business, which is so great; however, it makes for my only complaint of the price progressively increasing. My meals are now just over $30 for myself (app & entre only)

The duck salad was absolutely delicious and the lemongrass beef vermicelli too. Thai coffee is authentic hence you have to order it with you meal as it takes time for the coffee to drip into the cup below. By the time you finished your meal, your coffee would be ready. I would definitely recommend this place.

Average experience after waiting for about 25 mins. BYOB with a $3 corking fee per person. Food was okay for the price. They seem to be very eager to clean up the plates and take them away.

✨This is the best food in Houston✨ it is my favorite place to go when I come to town. I highly recommend ordering the #82. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It is also worth getting the avocado coffee for dessert. It is not what you think when you hear the name. It is fabulous is you like ice cream and coffee. The other cool thing is it’s BYOB so you can bring a nice bottle of wine without the high markups restaurants charge. 🩷 I cannot wait to visit Houston again so I can visit again.

We ate here for the first time because went to Collect A Con and we were blown away with how everybody works and made sure that our table is clean and that we are satisfied with our food. Although we have a designated server each and every server at the restaurant kept checking in on our table if we needed l anything like water or soda refill and everytime a server passes by our table each one of them made sure that utensils or plate is put away when we’re done and the best part of that is you don’t even need to ask or call someone because they constantly check on you. Aside from that the food is beyond….all the food that we ordered was just cooked right and very flavorful. The portion is also great!!!! We will definitely be coming back here again whenever we’re around the area and 100 out of 10 recommend this place… Amazing…amazing…amazing!!! Good job everyone 👏👏👏

It was so delicious that I visited twice.

A bit pricey, but the food was great. They do charge you a fee even though it is BYOB. I think that is rather unfair. I bring the drink and give you business, so least you can do is extend the hospitality and not charge us a fee.

Consistently outstanding food and service at reasonable prices.

Huynh is one of our go-tos. It's affordable and delicious with great service and caters to every palate. This review is specifically for their awesome job hosting a rehearsal dinner for 15 people. I haven't been to many rehearsal dinners where guests specifically single out the food, but they did (and will) at Huynh. They were professional, called to confirm our reservation ahead of time, and helped us host a great event. All of this was significantly cheaper than if we had gone with a more traditional "private room" experience at a downtown restaurant, and the food was better too! I strongly recommend Huynh for casual meals and hosting important events!

Very lively cozy place! Wait times are usually 10-15 mins but the food is worth the wait! Amazing taste, great and quick service! Not many free parking options on a busy day so gotta be lucky with it!

I had an outstanding experience at Huynh Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Houston. Mike, the manager, provided exceptional service, guiding us through a delightful culinary journey. His recommendations, especially the duck salad and beef wrap rice noodle, were spot-on—each dish showcased authentic flavors and perfect textures. The bird nest noodle with stir-fried tofu was a family-style delight, and the seafood combination dish was a savory delight. However, the star of the show was the avocado coffee, a unique and heavenly blend of espresso, condensed milk, and creamy avocado. The service was top-notch, with every server adding value through dedication and knowledge. The ambiance was inviting, and the friendly atmosphere made it a memorable dining experience. I'm already looking forward to returning and highly recommend Huynh to others.

This place is why other Asain resturants get bad reputations. If you like Asain food do not come here, it will ruin you.

I’ve been going here since 2010 and it’s my favorite restaurant in HouSton second only to Star Pizza. Everything here is good. I highly recommend the fried wide noodle cake dish with seafood and veggies, and the Yellow noodle dish. You’ll see the smiley face under it. Thank me later!

Outstanding. So well taken care of by Brian, in fact, we left our dining decisions up to him. Fresh, tasty dishes that he paired with our California wine. My #3, made with pork and tofu was delicious. Our beef rib appetizer was chewy and flavorful. The fat component went well with the Cab. I'm in love with the avoacado smoothie served with espresso. Perfect balance with the bitter and sweet. A fabulous meal and excellent service.

I had the Bun Bo Hue and it was very delicious although the portion was really small and it was relatively expensive. I think this is a good option if you want to eat before an event downtown, but there are definitely other restaurants that have similar tasting meals for a fraction of the price.

A cozy, friendly and cute family business. I was skeptical about the quality of Banh Cuon, well, I was wrong. Banh Cuon Thap Cam - The combination of steamed rice paper was perfect, it was soft and chewy enough, I loved the texture. Fish sauce was not overwhelmed at all. I would want to come back and try Mi Quang someday. The service was friendly and everyone was attentive to take your order carefully 🤓

Not what I expected after hearing about this place. It's located in the Downtown area. I don't usually get Viet food in this area but we were watching the game nearby. I wanted a hearty meal and decided to walk to this place. We ordered mi quang and banh cuon which are my two favorite Viet food and it was a let down. I preferred the original taste of these dishes. Just by looking at it when it came out, I already knew what it would taste like. The banh cuon was soggy. The texture was not done right. The mi quang had too much pork and the broth was off. Overall, it wasn't bad but it's not how I would have liked it. The place caters to the area and I get that.

My favorite place to get Bun Bo Hue. Clean and flavorful broth, with a perfect amount of meat and noodles. Love it here

This is one of my faves in H Town. The food is great. I love their duck salad. I catered a few birthdays from here. It’s a family owned restaurant and they are so nice. I am lactose intolerant and I totally crave their coconut coffee. It’s amazing! I wish every restaurant would have this.

This place is great! Inside is well done, family run and comfortable. We were a party of 10 and the service was perfect, quick and attentive, and everyone commented on how delicious the food was, vegetarians included! The coffee was awesome with and without the milk! Highly recommended

A hidden gem in EaDo that serves probably the best authentic and delicious Viet food outside of west Houston. Their Bun Bo Hue is one of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend if you want to try a spicier noodle dish similar to pho but more complex.

Let me tell yall something! We as a group will never be returning to this establishment again. We had met friends for dinner here .it was getting late so we decided to go one block over an have a drink . When we returned our car had been towed. As I understand it's a small parking lot an if it had been during normal business ours .our car would have been an inconvenience to them but it was not ! They basically had stolen our car an then charged us almost $300 to get it back ! They had it in their hands for an hour an half !
