It seems like they're more attentive to their take-out orders. Seated immediately, but waited 45 min for our sushi. Staff was pleasant enough, but no explanation for the delay. Very small restaurant, most people had reservations. This was our first time there, and it was a last minute decision, after visiting a local brewery, so didn't know to make a reservation. It is BYO. Spent the next day running back and forth to the bathroom

My favorite place for sushi! The service can be slow, and their hot food is not the best. However. The sushi never disappoints.

This would have been a 3 star review had the food not been one of the better ones in the area for this type of cuisine. The food was great. Service, let's just say they didn't have their best day when I came with a party of 8. Waited for close to an hour to get even appetizers as they were cranking out online orders. Very small place inside and can use a little more space and decor to elevate it to a higher level. Floors are pretty slippery and they used the sushi bar as a storage shelf instead of a place for customers to sit and eat. However, the food was delicious. Very fresh fish and everything tastes great. They were able to easily accommodate any roll on the menu and make it without rice. Reasonable prices for the quality of fish. This is, currently, a better takeout than a sit-down restaurant. Came around 7:30 on a Saturday. I guess the locals know how good it is and come for the take-out very often.

I always drive by Ichi Sushi and have never ordered. They must have a wide delivery area because they delivered all the way to Belmar. Pretty cool. The food was good. The chicken teriyaki had solid flavor with tender chicken. It wasn’t oily either. The sushi was lovely. The lover roll or something like that came fresh. The rock shrimp also had good flavor but difficult to stay crispy with delivery. I would order from here again.

I would love to leave a good review of this place because the sushi is actually decent but the service is horrendous. I’ve ordered take out from here about 3 times now- all different days of the week and each time I’ve come to pick up the order I’ve waited a minimum of a half hour (even after waiting their suggested 25 min to come pick it up). Tonight I waited for over an hour inside the restaurant. So if you got the time- by all means. But I will never be ordering from here ever again. Patrons inside were even complaining their food was taking long (only two tables full). Either hire more staff or update your online wait time to 1.5-2 hours because that’s more realistic.

I love Ichi Sushi...local, always welcoming, and good fresh food. This place has become a mainstay of my week and I love popping in after work for a sit down selection from their menu with some hot green tea and lovely service. Happy they're in my neighborhood!

Best Japanese cuisine you'll find around. Also a perfect spot for dates, 1 on 1s, and even small family outings.

The looks and tastes of the food were very nice. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Our meals came very quickly. My kids liked the food and atmosphere. As a family, we prefer pescatarian dishes in many restaurants. We ate our meals with peace of mind. Thanks everyone.

Developing restaurant. High take out demand with tables available for dine in service. Food is delicious! Either way (dine in/take out(pick up)) you'll enjoy the food. Staff hustles and are very pleasant. Will be a goto stop for our Japanese cuisine and sushi needs. Great service and reasonably priced.

Out of all of the sushi restaurants I've tried in central NJ, this is probably the best. Fresh,firm sushi with crisp presentation at exceedingly reasonable prices. The steak teriyaki is also excellent. Highly recommended.

The sushi here is delicious! The fried rolls are one of the best I’ve had. We got the American Dream Roll, Summer Roll, and Middlesex Roll. All were so good and fresh. The presentation on the plates were so cute too! This is definitely our new sushi spot.

Absolutely loved their sushi and starters. Delicious! We ordered American dream sushi roll, Udon, sea weed salad and Miso soup. Will definitely be coming here again and again!

I can't remember the name of the dish, but it was great: nice blend of different flavors and textures, and they had a brown rice option. Extremely tasty at a good price; I'll definitely go back when i can.

Good small Japanese restaurant. Nothing fancy but good food. I usually get the Bento box which was typical and filling.

Stopped off to get some sushi time with my daughter everything was really good. Daughter had California Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll. I had Sushi Tuna Pizza which was pretty tasty except the rice below was not crispy and it was quite mushy, bit it was still tasty.

First time there. Stopped in to pick up a quick lunch. My order was ready before promised. The spicy tuna roll were well filled with delicious tuna with a little rice and a few sesame seeds on the outside -- just like I like. I am definitely coming back with my family. Thank you.

Only tried takeout. Had it multiple times during slow and busy hours. Never disappoints. Everything is always fresh and delicious.

My parents always go here, and I decided to check it out the other day. Their presentation of dishes is beautiful, and I loved their chicken katsu and fried ice cream. Even though it was pretty quiet when I went, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was spot on. This place is super close to where I live and still takeout sushi from here!

My family and I came across this place by chance and I'm so glad we did. The waitress was one of the kindest waitresses I've ever met. The food was also incredible!!! We tried the sushi, the rice, and the poke bowl and everything was absolutely delicious. 10/10 Definitely will drive two hours from where I live to come here again.

Shockingly good sushi in Farmingdale, NJ! Got some maki rolls to go. Superior quality fish…. Fresh and clean. Beautiful color on the tuna, especially. Also the rice… the perfect amount of rice… not giant rice balls like most other sushi places. This is my new go to spot for when I’m visiting. Really good.

I came here last night for a meal while I was in the area. The place is small and does not have any proper hibachi tables to sit at but is byob which was nice. I had the sushi appetizer and paid an up-charge for it to be all salmon which came with 5 pieces which all tasted fresh. For mains we ordered the filet mignon and chicken hibachi which was cooked very well. The steak had a sweet sauce on it that I didn't care for much. We both left full and the bill was not the worst.

Surprised the food is excellent one of best sushi I ever had

This place is in a strip mall type setting. Food is excellent! I ordered online for takeout, Eel Cucumber roll sushi and Ichi Poke Bowl. All notes on my order were followed, food was ready at the time listed. There are lunch specials that are available on Saturday as well as during Mon-Fri.

Just had some seriously good sushi takeout from here for the first time. Super fresh and super delish. Very polite service over the phone and prompt delivery. I do not love the $6 Delivery fee, but for sushi this good it is worth it. Can't wait to try more!! Great place!

Great place! I enjoyed the food everything was beautiful, the service was great everyone was smiling, my favorite item on the menu is the mango smoothie & the taro smoothie,I recently also tried the pink romance as the name peaked my interest and it did not disappoint, the presentation was beautiful and it tasted great everything tasted fresh and of high quality, I truly recommend this place if you can please visit it is a true hidden gem of Farmingdale. (p.s. I bought another tarp smoothie and took it to go)

The sushi here is very affordable for sushi. It's by far not the best in The area, but it's not the worst either. I find it very convenient with ample parking. I would rate it much better if their nori were not so chewy. It's like chewing on a rubber band. I have never seen it crowded, but I don't go that often. There are much better sushi places in downtown but I hate to deal with parking and it costs about 30% more.

Honestly, one of my favorite sushi spots in New Jersey. The staff is amazing, and so sweet. The food is fresh and delicious, always on point! And they always present their food/sushi platters in such an adorable way! Also, try the jalapeño poppers, they’re amazing, I totally recommend them as an appetizer if you go!! One of my go-to sushi 🍣 spots for sure! 🤤

It’s time for me to stop being greedy and say that this is one of the best kept secrets in the Monmouth county area. I’ve been to all the big sushi place Xina, Taka, Nobu, etc. This place is on par with or better than all of them. I love the zero wait time I enjoy right now but I would rather see this business thrive as it deserves. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Please support this business! Business owner, please do not change a thing. I ordered a garden salad, salmon lover (pictured) and miso soup. Everything was delicious and that was the best miso soup I’ve ever had! So happy you’re close. Thanks Update: Still loving this place! Tonight I tried the tuna cookie and it was incredible. I also found my new favorite sushi roll which is their futo maki. I’ve always loved egg custard although people never order it. I was so happy to try it in a roll. The entire roll is really good! Everything in it goes together so well. They also package our to go orders well. Clearly I am very happy with this place! Thanks again.
