Ordered a sushi roll and chicken hibachi. The portions are much smaller than what I'm used to when ordering hibachi. The sushi roll only had 4 or 5 slices. The chicken in the hibachi was cut very large and was a little dry, but the Udon was good. I paid $29 for my order. Not worth $29 honestly.

Miso and edamame were great. Sushi so-so. The stuff is amazing!

Was concerned that there was only a couple of cars in the parking lot (was 2 pm). I went in to check it out and the place is tiny but there were more people inside than I thought....and everyone looked happy. My wife had sushi and I ordered the salmon bento.... everything was delicious. The bento comes with clear soup, salad, tempura, California rolls, rice and a very nice sized piece of salmon perfectly cooked. Prices are very good for the quality..First visit but won't be our last.

The BEST Japanese food we've ever had! Sashimi and sushi are excellent. Don't forget to try a bento box.

Small in size, but big in flavor! The staff was awesome here! The food was great! The only downside is the limited seating. Unfortunately, they are closed all this month. But we will see them when they return from vacation!

Stopped by on their last day before their temporary closing and glad we did. Fresh and tasty sushi. I may have forgotten my black Lululemon bag on the chair at the sushi bar. If it’s there, please let me know. Thanks!

We’ve been to Italy, Switzerland, Dubai, Maldives, Aruba, England, California, Chicago, Miami and Sarasota Florida, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and other states and my wife and I can’t believe that this sushi joint in Rochester NY is the best place we’ve ever had sushi at! 😂 The Mexican and the New York Rolls (without jalapeño) are insane. Every time we travel somewhere internationally and the states we always try to find a sushi place that could beat this place and they can’t! 😂😂😂

Excellent lunch! I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this hole in the wall restaurant hidden in a large strip mall but it was fantastic! Large portions and great prices, we got there during lunch rush and the place was nearly full but they quickly found us a table. Terrific service and food, will definitely return on the next trip to Rochester.

Nice little hole in the wall sushi place. Somewhere easy to meet up with friends, not too pretentious. Biggest ding I give is that the salmon I had wasn't as firm as I would have liked. Both the rolls I had were good and the appetizer was great. Green tea was on point.

As an Asian who has a high standard for Japanese foods, I approve!!! The best Japanese restaurant in Rochester and I enjoy every meal:) very impressed.

Perhaps my favourite restaurant in Henrietta. Decently priced, delicious and large portion sizes! Service is generally fast too considering this is a very small restaurant.

One of my top go to restaurants in Rochester. The staff are extremely nice and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend the spicy basil Thai noodles or the scallop hibachi. Their miso soup is the best I've ever had. If you're looking for a very down to earth Japanese/ Hibachi restaurant, Tokyo is the place to be. One thing I do wish is that they cook the hibachi in front of you instead of in the kitchen. The restaurant is definitely too small to have even one table to do that. However, it's well worth the price and the flavor to go here without the experience.

We had the Tori bento box and a sushi lunch combo. Everything had great flavor, and I would highly recommend coming here if you're looking for some great Japanese food. There aren't a ton of tables, but there are seats at the sushi bar. We had lunch for two and spent about 35$

First time me and my boyfriend went there. The waitress with the shirt hair and pretty earrings was so great. She was attentive and nice. And the atmosphere was good we all sang happy birthday for someone who came in they chimed a gong and it was really cute. It's a tiny place and we missed the doors the first time we walked up to it. But the food was great and a lot of it. We spent about 20 per person. And had leftovers taken home because we couldn't finish either of our dishes. It was a very nice place we ordered the hibachi chicken and the bento box combination. Note: we already ate a little of the sushi and food before we remembered to take pictures haha

Our first time here, but not the last. Above and beyond our expectations. Looking forward to coming back. 5+STARS. !!

had a great time here! food was so delicious; we ordered edamame, papaya salad with chicken wings, shrimp spring rolls, and the tokyo platter for 2. the papaya salad especially stood out, it was very true to papaya salad you would find in thailand :D yum, definitely coming again

Get take out from here every week and it is always the best sushi in the Rochester area. Owner is super friendly, along with the staff, and they are always on time and go out of their way if I show up early. Prices are great for a la cart style and we are always full at the end.

Best thai food in town. Run, don't walk! You can order anything off the menu and it will be hot, fresh, and flavorful.

We met some local friends here for dinner tonight and it was OK. Definitely no frills interior and never had hibachi not cooked table-side. For the price point it was OK.

This was the best Tom Yum soup we have ever had! The food & service was very, very good. Highly recommended!

Nice atmosphere, didn’t try the sushi but I strongly recommend NOT getting the hibachi. My friend and I got the samurai combo, shrimp had pieces of shell still on them, steak had little to no seasoning on it, the scallops were pretty much tasteless ( no salt no nothing) and the fried rice tasted pretty much like normal rice with nothing on it accept it was just hard. Again didn’t try the sushi but other tables that ordered the sushi did look phenomenal. Big portions NO TASTE. We all left about 3/4ths of the food and DID NOT take containers to go.

I don't like to give a negative rating but in this case I have to say that the hibachi didn't taste anything like hibachi. Food quality itself actually seemed good but the flavor wasn't reminiscent of hibachi at all.

Cannot give this place enough praise! We’ve been five times in the last 6 months and it’s always been amazing! Our favorites are the bento boxes (which each come with enough food for two, or a second dinner for tomorrow) and the fried spicy calamari. The ginger salad is always fresh and the sauce is well balanced. The miso soup is warm, satisfying, and full of green onions. The bento boxes all use the same teriyaki sauce for the meat (or tofu) and it’s so good we usually take a to-go cup home. Staff are always friendly and service is often fast. Absolutely recommend!

Everything is good!!! this my favorite place to dine or take out and the fried veggie spring rolls got me in a choke hold!

1st visit - definitely won't be the last! Staff were all amazing. Multiple people checked in multiple times to see how the food was. We ordered appetizers (Spring rolls & Goyza) and then ordered 5 rolls of sushi. It was super cool to sit at the bar and watch / talk to the skilled chefs while they made our rolls. Everything was amazing and super fresh, but I highly recommend the NY roll. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Honestly, we expected the bill to be more based on another location that we also like. We are already planning our next meal at Tokyo. 7/22/23 - Second visit. Again, this place didn't disappoint. The fresh spring rolls were so good the last time we got them again. It's so good that I forgot to take pictures. We also had the NY roll, spicy tuna roll, Denver roll, Mexican roll, and tried their Thai fried rice with chicken.

Best susi that I have had in Rochester, great family run business. Very friendly and helpful in understanding the menu with reasonable pricing. Wonderful selection of drinks too...

The food the food is so fresh and so delicious. I had to return three more times my last visit. It was so good. I fell asleep at the table lol.

The food was excellent and plentiful, we had several different hibachi dinners and took home leftovers. Also tried some sushi, the miso soup, Tom yum soup, and some lo mein. The vegetables were crisp, fresh, and delicious.

My son suggested this place. It is small but cozy. We had a wonderful server. I think her name is Jen. Our food was fantastic. We got Appetizers, wine, filet mignon, surf & turf, & salmon. I usually eat all my food, but there was enough to bring home for another meal. 👍🏼😀 Will definitely go again!

Everyone here was extremely attentive and friendly. My server, Jenn, was friendly and welcoming as we're the staff working the sushi bar who regularly asked to make sure everything was good and to see if I needed anything. The food was fresh, flavorful, and aromatic. The spicy basil noodles were delicious and I ate all of the large portion they were so good. Highly recommend this place

Love this restaurant. Have been going for years. Tony is very sweet as well as the waitresses.. The papaya salad is delicious especially when extra spicy. I get that with the chicken wings & always get a side of sticky rice with it. The Pho is delicious. If you love thai iced tea, theirs is good. A little sweeter than the expected. I will always be a customer of theirs.

Best Calamari I have ever had. It takes proper skill to cook calamari correctly and not turn it into a rubber-band, and this calamari was cooked to perfection. A prototypical hole in the wall restaurant that is better than any chain you will find. If you are in the area and want sushi. Do. Not. Hesitate.
