My wife and I recently finished a two night stay here several weekends back and had an incredible time! The service and accomodations were excellent, place was clean and well kept and the breakfasts were great! We had to reschedule our stay the first time due to sick kids and the staff were incredibly accommodating. As a couple who tries to regularly attend B&Bs we highly recommend this spot and are looking forward to coming back again some day!

This is a remarkable Inn tucked away near Pleasant Lake. What a beautiful location! The rooms are how I would describe as "country elegant", and the restaurant is definitely a remarkable experience. The chef will tell you what you are eating and where everything is sourced. Truly GOURMET food, and mostly healthy ingredients. This is a regular treat for our family.

Great staff and serivce and the location with the lake and beach across the street totally worth it. Me and my wife stayed for Patriots Day weekend which we found to be very quiet. The Oak and Grain was superb and accomdating with complex allergies. If your not good with stairs room 12 can be tricky to access. We have already made plans to come back each year. The bed we found very comfy so much so me and wife wish we could take it home. We have zero complaints. Lastly if your into hiking 7 minutes down the road by foot there is an interpretive hiking trail takes a few hours and very steep at the begining and few more there is a Pick your own Strawberry farm onseason and an Alpaca farm.

My fiancé and I visited in April 2022 and fell in love with the inn, mainly for the location, food, and peace. We decided to elope here later this summer (2023). I've been trying to contact Olivia for 2 weeks and is unreachable. I've emailed on Feb 24 and March 3, and called on Feb 28, March 1, and March 5. The front desk confirmed Sept 1 is available and advised that my emails are being forwarded and call messages are being passed to Olivia but I'm still not getting a response. This experience doesn't make me feel that my business is valued or that she has the time to take on our event, which is really surprising looking at other reviews.

The Inn at Pleasant Lake was the perfect venue for our small wedding. We were able to book the entire Inn for the weekend. The owners, inn keeper, and staff were so friendly, thoughtful, and accommodating! We held a pizza party in the Barn on Friday night, which was a great way to kick of the weekend. Our wedding day ran as smoothly as possible and the venue was truly relaxing and enjoyable. The appetizers for cocktail hour and dinner at Okay & Grain were fantastic. The grounds are truly beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, and our guests were able to enjoy the lake and kayaks provided by the Inn. We will absolutely be back!

The staff was always friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 12. It was cute, the bed and even the pullout were very comfortable. There was a beautiful view of the lake. We ate dinner at the restaurant our first night and the food was excellent. Peaceful and enjoyable place to stay. We did have to climb two flights of stairs to our room, so it wouldn't be good for anyone who had trouble with stairs.

Well you said to come back and we did! We stayed over memorial Day weekend and it was outstanding. Unlike in March where we had rain and thunder and fog it was crystal clear the temperatures were nice getting fairly hot on memorial Day itself. Was the first time. The staff does a wonderful job of making you feel welcome and cared for. It's pretty obvious this is a fantastic place to have a wedding. I'd say considering the size of the in and the grounds probably a wedding of 100 people or so would be your best bet anything more than that it would probably get a little bit crowded. But the food in the restaurant is very very good some of the best I've had up in this area so I think that any wedding guests would be definitely very well pleased with the quality of the food. They also have ownership of the New London inn which is up the street in downtown New London. We've not stayed there as yet but we're going to check it out once we check out of the inn this morning. For us we probably prefer the end because we like the more cozy feeling where you're not on a main street where the New London inn is but they have an excellent restaurant there as well I've been told. The Reed family runs this place like as they say a well-oiled machine everybody knows exactly what they need to do and they strive for excellence and they achieve it. As I said in my first review we do plan on returning and we certainly will. Rooms are very nice they're just the right size. I would recommend for those rooms that face the lake itself that they probably provide dark curtains or pull down shade as when the sun comes up the room becomes very light first thing in the morning and at this time of the year first thing in the morning is 5:00. The beach is very nice it is shared with the slope and shores resort area which is like a group of houses that run up the hillside so you'll notice it's quite a few people there but it's only those people from the resort area as well as the inn.

We were fortunate enough to have all 10 rooms available for our guests for our daughter's wedding over Labor Day weekend 2021. First and foremost, the inn keepers and staff could not have been more accommodating! The Inn became a wonderful bonding experience for guests who knew one another and those who did not. By the end of the weekend everyone was family. The rooms are all recently renovated and each is unique in it's quaint beauty. Every guest was thrilled with the comfort of their rooms. The views from each room are beautiful no matter the position in the building. Breakfast each morning was an extra special experience with the menu changing each day. Every option was delicious and unique. We held the rehearsal dinner in the red Barn on the property and could not be more thrilled with the perfect ambiance and amazing food selections. Should you use this option for an event, we can not recommend the Tappas menu more highly, it was so much fun and gave our guests opportunities to mingle! Dinner at the Oak and Grain dining room is a don't miss experience. Chef Leary is always creating seasonal farm to table experiences and never fails to deliver a fabulous gustatory experience! This is a destination in New London, NH not to be missed!

From FL and staying anywhere in NH to me is either camping or like staying at Grandma's house. We had the smallest room, but we did book last minute and only for one night which is really somewhat hard to do as I've heard. We loved it because it was an experience! The lake is beautiful during autumn - I can only imagine how bustling it is during summer. We had dinner at Oak & Grain and that was really worth it. The chef came over to everyone's table towards the end of the meal, answered any questions, offered seconds of anything we had. Truly wonderful! I had to take a pic of the menu. The blackberry sorbet .. I wanted a pint to-go! ❤️☺️

We went thinking we'd get the 5 course fixed price meal, but I must've read the website wrong because we ended up only having the three course. Not a big deal as the portions were fair. The waitstaff was friendly, but not overbearing. Even though she only had two other tables, she didn't hover and paid us just the right amount of care. The food was good, the salmon was cooked well as well as the short rib. The ingredients were fresh. I've been wowed by food before, and although this didn't taste out of this world, it still should be counted as good food because of the freshness and attention to flavor combinations. The atmosphere is very comfortable which I loved, but it was a slow night and I felt like the other tables could hear everything I said (mostly because I could hear everything they said) My boyfriend and I really like to disappear into a crowd, so it wasn't optimal for us, but if you like that sort of thing, it's a good space to find some peace. We'll be going back to try other entrees and hopefully to enjoy a busier evening.

My fiancee and I had our wedding here and we absolutely loved it! We rented out six rooms at the inn and they were all incredibly clean, comfortable, and well decorated. The staff was also top notch, as they were both extremely nice and tremendously helpful, ensuring that we had everything we needed and that even the smallest things were entirely taken care of. We also did our wedding dinner at the inn in their restaurant, Oak & Grain, and both the food and the experience was exceptional as well. They customized the menu specifically for us, and we had a wonderful time working with the chef to do so. I would highly recommend this inn for both large events and a weekend small getaway. It has everything you need, an exceptional location and view, and the perfect people to make sure you have a wonderful experience!

They say that consistency is the hallmark of excellence and The Inn at Pleasant Lake makes this point emphatically, every time we visit. In my opinion, the ideal country inn blends several different elements seamlessly, resulting in an atmosphere of soothing calm. Great location is a must - you’ll find the lakeside setting, framed by nearby mountains, is as cozy as it is dramatic. A building with genuine charm and character is also important and this rambling edifice dates back to the late 18th century, a fascinating page of New Hampshire history. Don’t be deceived, however, 21st century creature comforts abound, making for a luxurious and relaxing stay. Great country inns are owned by people, not corporations; Jennifer and Scott Reed set the tone for everything that happens here. You can see their skill and attention to detail throughout the facility. The pleasure they take in what they do is also evident in all staff members; one gets the impression that Jennifer and Scott are very careful about hiring professionals who enjoy the work of providing visitors with a delightful experience. Last, and certainly not least, is the food. Bryan Leary is something between a master chef and an artist. His descriptions of the 5-course dinners he prepares are alluring in and of themselves. The dishes are wonderfully inventive, elegant, and invariably beyond delicious. Whether enjoying breakfast or afternoon tea, the food at The Inn at Pleasant Lake is always splendid. I once told Jennifer and Scott, “There are places so good that one wants to share them with others. Then there are places so good that one doesn’t want to tell anyone about them.” Understand, dear reader, in a perfect world I would keep The Inn at Pleasant Lake for myself.

The hike up those stairs to the 3rd floor was tough, particularly with luggage. But our room, #12, was spacious, and well appointed. And, the bed was very comfortable. We were there only 1 nite, but we very much enjoyed our visit. We we're looking forward to a nice dinner at the Inn (friends in the area recommended it). Unfortunately the dinning room was closed (unusual, as it was a Tuesday); but we all had a great meal at the New London Inn (nice menu variety, good wine selections, friendly efficient service, and reasonable prices). Breakfast at the Inn was a little disappointing. No menu, so we didn't know about the homemade pancakes until we had made the best of the other offerings (cereal, fruit, coffee). They were OK, but it wasn't our idea of a "great New England B&B breakfast". Service was friendly, albeit a little slow. The Innkeepers were friendly and helpful (they recommended the dinning selection).

Only 2 hours from our home north of Boston, Inn At Pleasant Lake is within easy reach for a special weekend getaway. The inn itself is charming and historic, with beautifully tended gardens abloom with spring flowers. Staff are friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Our room as usual was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed quiet restful nights even though it was Memorial Day weekend. Delicious and plentiful breakfasts crafted from local ingredients kept us going until tea time, elegantly served with cheeses, fruit and freshly baked treats. We were well satisfied with the Flying Goose in town for dinners but plan to try the amazing 5-course dinner at the inn another time. The lake is just across the road, clean and perfect for canoeing or kayaking, and we did some amazing hikes in the surrounding wilderness. We've also stayed in winter and it's perfect for getting an early start at Ragged or Sunapee. No complaints. 5 stars!

Our family spent a Friday evening and wished we could have stayed much longer. We are just beginning to travel and enjoy inns and B & B's. Our room was beautiful (#12) and so were the views (spectacular, actually) of the lake, mountain and the inn's surrounding grounds. The dinner was "out of this world", the ambience was perfect and the chef was a treasure. My room's whirlpool was not operable and unfortunately looked forward to that experience. I slept in the trundle bed and needed to prop pillows to accommodate my comfort. It should only be used as a chair. I did find a fold-up bed in a closet and if we had stayed longer would have used it. Those issues, however, did not take away from the "pleasant" atmosphere, cordial and friendly environment and delicious food we thoroughly enjoyed. As my daughter is looking for a "barn" wedding within the year, I will certainly consider the Inn at Pleasant Lake as a first priority. Will be in touch down the road. Sincerely, Denise Aldinger

The hospitality is unmatched and you can tell they have put their heart into offering travelers a quality place to stay. They have done a great job with all the extra details of offering a comfortable stay and even include a constant refreshment bar. You will be warmly greeted and given a tour. They are knowledgeable about the area. We were not able to try the restaurant there because it's closed mondays and Tuesday (that's when we came) but the complimentary breakfast could not have been better. They have gone to great lengths to offer and find things true to New Hampshire like real maple syrup, locally produced Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. So I can only imagine dinner would be of the same quality. Room was beautifully decorated with a comfortable bed and the grounds are well kept. We would recommend this place.

We stayed for a friends wedding and to celebrate our 24th anniversary the next day. Stayed in room 12, fabulous view from all 4 windows: room is the top 3 windows on left when looking at Inn from the lake. We enjoyed sitting and star gazing on the beach at night; dinner was AMAZING- can't speak highly enough of the food quality, taste and presentation. We had breakfast in bed and thoroughly enjoyed the Inn, the room, the staff, the view... what a great place for small to not so small groups. Highly recommend.

It’s been two months since The Inn at Pleasant Lake hosted our daughter's wedding, but the passage of time has not dampened our enthusiasm in recommending this place for your wedding. The owners, Jennifer and Scott, were so attentive to every need and want both before and throughout our entire weekend. Whether it was set up or last minute details, they were the perfect gracious hosts and were right there by our side to lend a helpful hand. Plus, they are just really nice people. Chef Bryan Leary made our reception! If you’ve not had a chance to sit at his tables, and dine on his creative meals, you have missed out on an absolutely wonderful experience. He is so creative that our daughter decided to fold the Chef’s presentation into the reception. Jess, their event coordinator, was excellent. She was kind, helpful, responsive, an excellent communicator, and reduced stress at every turn. If you’re considering a small to medium sized wedding, say 60 to 80 people, this is a perfect choice. Did I mention the beautiful lakeside location, and the lovely outdoor wedding arbor? Plus, you have the opportunity to have your entire family together for the entire weekend in a quaint and historic inn. The rooms were all charming, clean, well attended and comfortable. The service by the wait staff at all our meals was friendly and exceptional. We are giving our weekend five stars and a huge thank you to the Inn, the owners and the staff!

2nd time visit. Pleasant, relaxing time was enjoyed by my daughter and I with the area theater, boating conveniences. Breakfast delicious. Have to remember to come Wed through weekend next time to have one of the scrumptious meals prepared by Chef O'Leary. Learned how to paddle board. My daughter was so proud of her mother. Jen and staff were awesome.

Beautiful inn, nice public space, charming rooms, wonderful helpful owners and staff, gorgeous spot on one of the prettiest and quietest lakes in NH, beach is right below the inn. I have stayed perhaps 10 times over the years and always want to go back.

My wife and i have been several times since the new chef has been there and it has been excellent. Both the service and food has exceeded our expectations. Recently went for the winter fest and we had a blast, plenty of stuff for the kids and to do.

We absolutely loved our wedding and stay at the beautiful Inn at Pleasant Lake. We came all the way from Florida to have our wedding there. The Inn and grounds are gorgeous and were the perfect back drop for our special day. The owners **(insert names)** went above and beyond to accommodate all our and our guest's needs. The ceremony was picture perfect and went off without a hitch. The 5 course dinner, which was created by chef Brian, was phenomenal and beyond our expectations. Our room was very clean, extremely cozy, comfortable and perfect for us! We would highly recommend the Inn at Pleasant Lake to any couple looking for the perfect destination for their wedding or just a romantic getaway. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!!!

Attended for a wedding. Inn was nice. Didn't get to explore it or surrounding area, as we were only there 1 night. Staff which worked the event could use a training on how to properly work that type of event.

Afternoon tea on a sun bathed terrace overlooking the lake while surrounded by glorious autumn foliage. You might think it doesn't get better than this but it does if you stay a few nights at this simply wonderful NH Inn.

This is my third time staying at the Inn at Pleasant Lake - and the experience just keeps getting better and better. I stayed in Room 6, recently renovated and updated (room and bathroom) with calming colors and updated amenities. Very cozy and comfortable! The grounds, including the lake and the beach, are in top shape and create a wonderful setting for relaxation. Dinner and breakfast are 5 star - full of wonderful flavor and variety. The new chef has lived up to the high bar that has been set by the previous owner and chef - well done! The dinner was outstanding. Flavorful, creative, the right size portions (after a 5 course meal, I was pleasantly satisfied, not too full - how often can you say that?). From the cocktails outside on the porch, to the introduction Chef Brian provides to set your expectations for the meal, to the ambiance of the dining, looking out on the sunset over the lake, and the amazing wine and food - it is truly a dining experience - all at a reasonable price. Service is exceptional, with the innkeepers and the staff always attentive, ensuring that your stay is everything that you expect and deserve. Another 5 star recommendation from me - I will continue to go back again and again.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely Inn Aug 8 and 9. Jennifer and her husband Scott purchased the Inn this past spring and It appears that they are and will continue to keep the high standards set by the previous owners. Jennifer greeted us warmly and showed us around the Inn. We had a very spacious suite with queen bed, very comfortable, small sitting area with couch and coffee table. Bathroom was large with Jacuzzi tub/shower combo. Luscious feeling towels. the Inn although totally updated still has the feel of an old country Inn. Tea was served daily with scrumptious homemade cakes and cookies. Cheese, crackers, hot tea, ice tea, juices. The patio which looks toward the water's edge had comfy chairs and lounges with thick cushions. The beach and water are clean. The Inn shares the beach with a small homeowners association but plenty of room for everyone. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruit, homemade muffins, cereal etc on the buffet and a hot option which changes daily. They also have a restaurant which is open to the public serving the most incredible dinners. Brian has been the chef for 8 years. He is an extraordinary chef. He greets everyone in the living room prior to the 4 course meal and explains the preparation of each course. We had the fillet of beef, king salmon, and rack of lamb- incredible-- The wait staff was professional, helpful and very friendly. We will definitely come back to this peaceful, beautiful country Inn. Thank you Jennifer and Scott for a lovely weekend.

My Dad invited the family to a dinner here once during the latter 1990's, when the Inn at Pleasant Lake were the "new kids in town". They were up against a formidable, though small, array of good restaurants, then, and a couple have fallen from the ranks. Same owners, now approaching 20 years. The dinner we had then was excellent, could have been slightly better on the dessert side. I think the Chef/owner was still refining and developing entrees, and ideas, then though... My brother and his wife spent their first nights there as a couple, in 2000, before going on a honeymoon to San Francisco. Our meal was back, also 2000, and the atmosphere is pleasant (no pun), antique, colonial, and ... roughly what one expects from a good Inn, deep in New England. As a Restaurant, which I am only ranking it as, competed then for best in town, and I am sure it does now. It is not inexpensive (but what is not, these days?), but on the whole quite recommended. The owners are kindly, affable individuals.

My wife and I are here for the 3rd time. We absolutely love this place, the food is spectacular. You get a 5star dinner with all local ingredients and a full explanation from the chef. Relax In a quiet clean comfortable room. Then get up and enjoy another spectacular breakfast the next morning. The service is incredible giving hospitality a new meaning. If I plan any kid free getaways it will continue to be here!!
