Had a great time late last Saturday night. Popped in for a Guinness, ended up staying for two hours yucking it up with John (the tender). Great Guinness, good people, good times.

My wife and I stayed just around the corner, at The Jay. We came here twice, it was so good! Once was for lunch. I got the chicken sandwich and she got the BLT, they were both delicious. The second time was late night after a concert. They’re the only bar open for BLOCKS after 11:00 pm. The atmosphere is amazing, gives you that old pub vibe. That staff was also wildly friendly! Highly recommend!

New menu is awesome, very friendly atmosphere and top rate service!

When I tell you that this place is a home... I mean Lorraine, Jer, and John are phenomenal. The food is unparalleled , the drinks are wet, cold and tasty, and the service is beyond description. God themself has anointed this bar as refuge for their children.

John was our favorite bartender during our stay in San Francisco. He and Mary provided excellent service. We visited 3 separate times and the drinks were great every time. The wings and fries are delicious. If you are in the area and want to grab a beer or cocktail don’t miss this pub.

Best Guinness and best fries with curry sauce in the city. Unbeatable.

I love hitting Irish puns when I travel, it's kinda my thing. I tried Irish Times and although the decor and menu might make you question it's authenticity (fair amount of Mexican food and drink on the menu), the food and service make up for it. I sat down at 11am and ordered Shepard's Pie and a Guinness with a Jamo chaser. It was the best Pie I've ever had and I've had A LOT. Within the next hour the place filled up with locals to watch some football matches. I'll definitely come here again! Great job Irish Times.

During our 4 day weekend birthday celebration, I'd have to say this was my favorite meal. As a chef, I looked forward to not working and sampling San Francisco's finest...we ate in a variety of places, but for ambience, flavor and most of all service, Irish Times was incredible. Strong but tasty cocktails, perfectly crispy fish 'n chips...exactly what I was hoping for in a pub. Just wonderful. Highly recommended.

Just a real fun place with a great vibe. Been going here every night and the drinks, food and music are all on point.

My best friend & I started an amazing road trip this morning & our first stop was San Fran! We had such a fun day and ended it wandering around downtown wanting a late night snack & NA bevvies —and we wandered into the Irish times. Lucky us. Dreamy service & guilty pleasure bar snacks were just what we were hoping for. There were different sports playing around the room. For a narrow room, they’ve made excellent use of the space. There were several different groups all moving at different speeds but nobody was bothered or interrupted by anyone else. The two gals working the room did a great job being kind & offering up suggestions. Both on the menu, drinks, and places in San Fran we should check out before we skidattle down the road. We were excited to hear that they had ginger beer & other NA options. Not a lot of NA specifics but Becks light beer was an option! The poutine & wings were excellent! The kitchen was fast & the cooks checked in with the servers to see if everything was good. (We saw someone get the shepherds pie and wished we had gotten it. Yummmmm!!! Maybe next time!) We really enjoyed this quick stop- we didn’t get our servers name but we really felt taken care of & appreciated the suggestions offered while we’re in town. If the rest of our trip is as good as how it started, we’re in for a real treat this week! <3

Stopped here while in town for a conference to catch a couple hockey games over a drink. This really is a great Irish bar and highly recommended. I ended up getting the Shepards pie, which came out PIPING hot and it was very delicious. I was quite surprised when it was delivered with actual HP sauce, nice touch. Drinks were great, staff were STELLAR. Multiple TVs, so we all got to watch what we came for.

Best bar in the downtown area, great food and staff who remember your name and order. Full Irish breakfast before a Giants game is a must.

So glad Irish Times survived the pandemic/office exodus and is open late when you are downtown for an event. Bartenders are polite and the place always has a good vibe. Worth stopping in.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Unbelievable experience at this restaurant. We were waited on by Melyssah who was extremely unprofessional and lacked the customer service required for being in the restaurant business. I came in town for a wedding with my family. We went for lunch (party of 4) and my husband ordered a burger that came out wrong THREE times! It took forever to get him what he ordered to the point that the whole table was done eating. Keep in mind, while we’re waiting on his meal we’re continuing to order more and more drinks. When the bill came we asked that the burger be removed given the issues caused by the restaurant. Melyssah proceeded with an attitude to tell us that “well he ate the burger” regardless of it coming out wrong three times and the food coming out after everyone was done eating. Her attitude was APPALLING to say the least. The owner came over with the same exact attitude with zero lack of understanding for the CUSTOMER but ultimately removed the burger with nothing short of an attitude. He has no apology on behalf of his rude waitress. delay in food coming out and the food coming out wrong. Tragic experience HARD PASS ON THIS RESTAURANT! AND …attached is the owners response to my review. WOW Enough said. SPEAKS VOLUMES on this establishment!!!

I would have to say, as an avid traveler and a person who loves Irish Pubs, this bar is my favorite Irish bar! If you are in the area of San Francisco I strongly recommend that you go to the Irish Times, you will not be disappointed! the food is amazing, the drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is out of this world!!

This place isn’t just a quintessential Irish spot, it’s an overall enjoyable experience for everyone. I came here multiple times as someone from out of state and found my home here. I can’t recommend this place enough, you MUST come here!

Too smoky and too dirty… Perhaps St. Patrick's Day wasn't the best day to visit because I don't have a good impression of it now.

We came here to watch UFC. First time watching UFC in a bar in USA. $10 cover ($15 if paying with card) to stay for UFC but worth it for the atmosphere. A huge band came into the bar once UFC ended for a surprise performance.

Best Guiness on Nitro ever! Seriously this place is great. The staff are amazing, drinks are great, and there's pups in here.

We just went to the Irish Times to meet up with associates and have a drink. We didn't eat there. Irish Times is a very lively, somewhat loud environment. The bathroom is very old and needs to be updated. The service is good.

Standard Irish themed bar with standard bar fare. Nothing special but executed well when you want a basic beer or cocktail and some cheesefries etc. lots of TVs with sports. Big bar with attentive, friendly service.

We were at The Irish Times Sat night to watch the fights and Sunday for brunch. The service was amazing - we came back Sunday specifically to see Lorraine - her quick wit coupled with her impeccable service made Irish Times our favorite spot in San Francisco

Love this place whether it's for dinner or late night drinks. The staff is freaking amazing.

The bartender was on her phone for the first 10min I was here. I ordered an overpriced beer and shot. Then I ordered the chicken tenders. Holy disgusting trash! This is worse than school lunches. Tastes like McDonald’s chicken nuggets. And for $13 Jesus. What’s the mark up 500%? Spend your money at a respectable restaurant. This place is disgusting. Update: homegirl is once again chatting on the phone while I would like to leave this hell hole. I feel trapped. This is horrible.

Want to get served by the cheapest lady in San Francisco, go to Irish Times. Charging guests a fee for watching a UFC event is ridiculous.

Stole our money by adding additional tips to our credit card. Same thing happened to all 5 of us in our round, have photos to prove it. Avoid at all costs.

Found Irish Times by accident on first night in San Fran. Greatly enjoyed our chat with the bartenders - felt like being at home. Came back next day to watch Ireland and Scotland rugby match and it was like one big family. Had full Irish breakfast (well we shared one it was so big) would highly recommend this pub where u will be given the best Irish welcome

Friendly Bartender and accuratwly made drinks. They could use another waitress to wait on tables, we had to keep going back up to the bar to order drinks.

We were looking for a bar as we had arrived in no where was really open and so glad we did. We met the lovely Niamh who is so friendly. We were the Scottish couple sitting at the bar when the American guy next to us was chatting away 😂 she will know what we mean. We never ate food as we had just eaten but drinks were good and the pub had a good atmosphere . We ended up chatting away to to 2 Australian guys who were friendly too and as we were leaving the place started to get busy. Could have stayed longer but we were up for over 28 hrs and needed our bed lol. Definetly recommend this place and the food menu looks great. Great service

They gave us an attitude right from the start and then basically kicked us out for no reason. We were wondering if we could order some food now and then some later, but they didnt believe that we were going to for some reason, so they talked behind our backs and then made us leave without saying sorry or have a good day. Very unfortunate to be treated that way, not very nice. Very bad and rough attitude for some reason.

Irish pub in the heart of the financial district. Pretty good beer selection. Food wasn't horrible. Good place to watch the game. Big area can handle a crowd. Staff are on their game. If that's your vibe you'll enjoy it.

Came in with our pup and we were welcomed as if we were neighbors. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. The service was friendly and quick without feeling as if we were rushed. The food was delicious, we ordered the fish and chips as well as the buffalo chicken sandwich:FIRE came w/ curry fries and needless to say I was very happy. Feels like just our local watering hole in the middle of the big city. We'll definitely be back! Did I mention this place is dog friendly 🙂

This is what I always imagined an American Irish bar to be like. Full of life and noise. Great food, great drink, great service. And they let dogs in. What's not to like?

A nice bar with tons of chairs and space. The music was good. Service fast. It was only one person (host, waiter, bartender, cashier, etc) and he was amazing and fast, runs around the tables, and keep every table served happy. There are several TVs.

Went in the night before St. Patrick's Day. I had a Pint and a pour of Jameson at midnight to celebrate St. Patrick. The kitchen was closed by the time I got there so i just had a couple of drinks. Service was great, atmosphere was cool.

I’m giving this pub 5 stars even though I can’t comment on the food. I came to try the Guinness. The fact that it was a 2 part pour was impressive as have been in a few other bars in SF that didn’t do this. I took a little video of the pour. It you’re after a good Guinness in SF this should be your first port of call.

This is the first time I have ever reviewed on Google but felt compelled to. Visited Irish Times from out of town and I have to say the small short haired female bartender and the grey haired male bartender are both very rude. My wife and I visited on St Patrick’s Day and we witnessed both of them be rude to different customers, one of which was when someone asked the male bartender if anyone could wipe down a dirty table, he just laughed in their face and said ‘This place isn’t a hotel’ and just walked off. Regarding the female bartender, having sat at the bar and ordered a round of drinks. She very abruptly told me the price and took the money from me. I then placed a tip on the bar which she later collected. When we went to order a second round we asked if they sold sparkling white wine to which she replied ‘Yeah…….. do you want one or not’. When I went to pay for the second round she basically started question me on what and how I was going to tip her as I didn’t bother before. I told her I did tip her….. she then basically called me a liar. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would never go back there again.

Came here with my boyfriend on st patty’s day morning to watch march madness. Sat at the bar and he ordered a beer and I asked for a water because I don’t drink. The bartender with short red hair in an insolent and disrespectful tone said there was a $20 minimum each and I had to order a drink. We moved to a table because of how unmannerly she was. I understand it’s st patty’s day but it was in the morning and the bar wasn’t busy yet. Would not recommend coming here.

Wie der Name schon sagt ein typisch irischer Pub mit ebenso typischen Gästen, wie sie mittlerweise ja fast überall auf der Welt zu finden sind. Lockere Atmosphäre, gute Stimmung, nettes aber ein bisschen langsames Personal, saubere Toiletten, normale Preise. Alles nichts Besonderes, auch das Essen nicht, aber gut genug um an einem Abend Spaß zu haben und lecker satt zu werden. Die Google Durchschnittsbewertung von 4,3 dürfte genau passend sein.

We did Alcatraz, hit City Lights Books, and then we needed a bathroom and a drink, in that order. We had planned to have dinner in Chinatown, but Irish Times stood out in a quick Google search and was within a 9 minute walk. We thought it would be a bathroom break and one adult beverage, but it turned into dinner. Food was very good, and the food and drinks were the most reasonably priced we had come across during our visit, but what stood out was the much overworked gentleman behind the bar who doubled as our server. The man was a gentle giant and very accommodating. He went above and beyond. Made me a fantastic Old Fashioned. Great find!

Came here to watch UFC 280, and was not disappointed. Messaged them the day before to ask if they would show the event, and i got a quick response and they even showed the prelims. Huge selection of drinks and beer. Super fun atmosphere. Even some cute dogs walking around the bar. Would definitely watch UFC here again!
