I have been coming here for years. For years now Rob the night time kava tender has berades customers calling them "idiots" or "stupid". He slams shells while blatantly ignoring people. My friends and I stopped coming here in 2023 because of this guy. I was in town tonight and thought I'd get a tea to-go. I made the mistake of asking what time the Business was open until and he tells me "the hours are on the door". Then called me stupid. I can't believe this guy is still employed here. Won't be back.

Everytime I stop bye to Island Root it's always such a warm and inviting experience. The staff is very knowledgeable about the product they sell. It's always peaceful and relaxing to stop bye.

Maynard is awesome, definitely go in for happy hour and check the place out. My favorite kava bar in Royal Palm for sure.

This is my spot to relax with my wife. The staff is on top of all of our needs every visit. I love the nostalgic arena look to just enjoy your favorite drink. Come relax and grab a quick tea.

All of the workers were very nice, polite, and helpful. Lex was very helpful at explaining what all of their products were.

Don't bother! This spot used to be so rad, awesome Kavatenders and drinks that really hit. I just ordered a shell and had it slammed down on the bar and some of the kava even spilt out. I feel uncomfortable and not welcomed here. He made me feel like I'm bothering him when ordering a drink. Plenty of better kava bars elsewhere like The Chill Room! My comment about the Chill Room was to offer other options. My post is in reference to my personal experience tonight. The guy with a ponytail made not only me but the people I was with feel unwelcome and bothered when ordering a drink. He also did set down my shell so aggressive kava spilled out. I love supporting the kava community as a whole which is why I am making this review. I don't want others to have the same experience I did and decided to share what other places I have never received this kind of service. Other Kavatenders here have been great including the one who wears bucket hats. This is why tonight's experience was so off-putting. Please choose to hear about my experience not the reference to other options.

A safe space for those that need one any time of the day. They primarily sell Kava drinks which aren't for everybody but you don't need to buy it to stay. They sell regular drinks like soda and juices. I always get chocolate milk while my bf gets kava. They have food too that you would normally see at most bars. The employees work really hard, so tip well! The establishment is clean and cozy, I love it. There's only 1 requirement, you have to be at least 18 years old, that's it!

I have been going to kava bars for about 10 years now. This place is one of my top favorites. The entire staff is amazing from jasmine (bar back) to Maddie ( manager). Some of the kavatenders here anyone one should meet are Maynor, Rob, Cody, Haylee, Alexis and Narin. There is other people that I haven’t gotten to know but I am sure you will NOT be disappointed. This is a great establishment with great people to boot.

I love the products and atmosphere and the events are super fun ! I didn’t know too much about kava and kratom when I first came in and I left feeling like an expert after being served by Lex who was super knowledgeable and taught me everything I needed to know ! She got me to try a bunch of new things that I would otherwise have not tried , the new iced teas were really tasty 🙂

Alexis helped us out one night and was grand! Her bright bubbly personality definitely changed our day from a terrible one to a better one by far. Her smile is contagious and her knowledge in everything there is remarkable! Love the atmosphere and definitely recommend asking for her if she’s on shift.

This is my home base. Where my friends are. Alexis the kavatender is such a genuinely kind person. When she asks you how you’re doing, she takes the time to listen. She’s always aware of customers at the counter and there’s never a wait when shes behind the bar. Truly an asset to the company!

Chilled place love going to this location the staffs are amazing super friendly and attentive. Normally I get the peach mango green with raspberry every visit. It's a great place to hang out with your friends sit and talk and go out of your comfort zone and talk to new people. Everyone here is friendly and you can sit and talk for hours .

I've been coming to Island Root in Royal palm since it opened. Honestly I've always loved coming here. From the owners to the management to the kava tenders, everyone is amazing! The kava tenders are attentive, friendly and always make you feel welcomed. Every once in a while you have an issue with one of the customers but the staff takes care of it immediately ensuring a friendly, safe and warm environment. The kava and kratom is fresh and there are many varieties to choose from. I play pool here almost daily. The tournament, hosted by Maynor, is fun and always a good time. For me, It's a way to de-stress and just relax from my day. It's a great way to be out without the bar scene. I highly recommend this kava bar to anyone and is one of my go-to kava bars in the area. Come join the Island Root family!

I went to Kava for the first time, I passed by this Juice Bar so many times and decided to finally stop. The atmosphere was totally chilled, the bartenders were awesome and knowledgeable and my drink gave me a buzz😁. I will be back for sure Update from my first review over 1 year ago. Island Root is my # 1 chill spot. Always a great time and awesome crowd. My favorite bartender is Narin, hook me up with the best Cherry limeade, it’s always on point with that beautiful smile. I love Island Root and have been to every location opened. I must say the Royal Palm location is my favorite. The staff is super friendly and have truly became friends of mine. Narin is wonderful and super creative especially when it comes to making different kava shots. If she’s here I recommend trying one. No matter what you will always have a great time!

I had a great experience at this kava bar. The place is cozy and relaxing, with a nice ambiance and music. I love Island Root. I’ve been to multiple locations from PSL down to Royal Palm and hands down, Royal Palm just gives the overall best service you can get from what I’ve experienced. I’m gonna have to point out Alexis, especially on how amazing her service was. Any time I needed anything, she jumped to it right away, she creates a very friendly atmosphere and generally keeps everything fresh consistently around the board. Highly recommend this location to both seasoned veterans and new people!
