We had an incredible stay at Lac La Belle Lodge toward the end of August 2024! We rented cabin number 1 which was clean, well maintained and ready for us when we arrived. Cabin #1 & 2 are right on the water with views of the bay from our kitchen window. The bed was comfortable although not a glorious hotel bed, but nevertheless comfy! The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans but if you need a baking sheet, you better bring one :). The cabin is the perfect size for sleeping or making a dinner for two and we even watched a movie on their smart tv and comfortable futon! The general store has most of what you need and we used their store to buy a few things along with rent a very well working 16’ fishing boat. Overall the area is very quiet with most residents, renters being inside around dark and everyone we met were great! The area is incredible and if you’re considering a stay near copper harbor or eagle harbor I would definitely recommend Lac La Belle Lodge! They even have dinners for you if you want to eat there instead of going into town. There’s a community fire pit, a pebble beach, peaceful and quiet lake and even the public access boat landing just right down the street. The staff were also super friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable having been in the area over 20+ years! This place is owner operated and not some run down, forgotten chain resort so if you’ve ever rented from a place similar in the past, you will find this experience to be very similar. Great place to stay to check out the mining history, all the water, relax, mountain bike, hike, or off road! 10/10 we will be back!

We frequently come here for their delicious food and especially love their Wednesday Wings, Friday Fish, Saturday BBQ Ribs and never miss a Sunday Turkey dinner and all the fixin’s. Don’t get me wrong, the mac n cheese, smoked brisket, burgers and sandwiches are to die for too, but the specials make our week complete😋 We love the friendly helpful ladies at the counter too❤️ Thank you Bear Belly Pit Stop for being YOU❣️

Nice little general store that has the essentials for anyone staying nearby. Their kitchen wasn't fully ready yet for the season, but they still had a few hot items. The pasties were great.

We rented a cabin here for a night and ended up staying two more! Cozy place with a great store and good food. The cabin had everything we needed. Gas burning stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, TV, nice bathroom and lots of cookware to use! We had previously rented a different cabin in the area and were so let down by it that we ended up driving around without staying and found this place! Great spot. Thank you!

We had the BEST experience here! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We ended up adding 2 extra days onto our stay because we were having such a great time. We will absolutely be back, and with family and friends next time! Thank you so much to all the wonderful people at the Lac La Belle Lodge! 😊

We stopped here for lunch and the lady working was very friendly. The food was made relatively quick and tasted great! Highly recommend their ribs.

Closest shop on the lake. Way better than driving to cooper harbor for your last minute needs. Loved the souvenir selection

I visited this lodge with my family (4 individuals) in the second week of July. We arrived at the lodge late (sorry) and they were able to accommodate us. The cabin that we stayed at (cabin #3) was spacey and all of the utilities were functional. We were surprised and grateful that there were kitchen supplies, towels, toilet paper, and bed sheets/pillows. Will likely visit again for the price as well as the awesome staff.

Awesome, quaint little pit stop. Stopped here twice a day for 3 days at Bohemia. Women working the register were super friendly.

Great stop for gas, snacks, drinks and some souvenirs

We we’re staying in Copper Harbor and selection for dinner was pretty limited. Took a ride to lac la belle and found Bear Belly Pit Stop. A small out of the way general store with a nice selection of sandwiches. We ended up getting cups of chili which was delicious and 2 brisket sandwiches. Grabbed the food and headed back to our hotel. Sat on the porch over looking the lake for sunset. Good food and fantastic evening.

Friendly staff. Small party store with souvenirs. They had a little of everything.

Delicious food, convenient hours, reasonably enough priced (Lac La Belle is pretty far from town), and awesome service. I only wish the full restaurant and bar could still be open! I highly recommend Bear Belly's take-out meals.

We’ve been coming here for 15 years and absolutely love it!! The store and the take out menu is great! Kathy and Troy and Everybody here is so friendly and we plan on coming back for as long as we can!

Stopped here for lunch, really a hidden gem. Picnic tables overlooking the bay, beautiful view. I recommend the ribs and mac and cheese, if they have on special, I'd love to get that bbq sauce recipe!

Stayed a Lac La Belle Lodge February 3rd-5th 2022. We were in cabin 1 and our son and his buddies were in cabin 5. Cabins were comfortable and spotless. Skiing was outstanding and coming back to a warm cabin and being able to fix dinner was great. The Bear Belly store was well stocked with everything as well as great fresh to order chef prepared Dinner items as well as breakfast pasties! I think it’s probably my fifth time staying there and won’t be the last. Will Have to come back and see what it’s like without snow, could easily take til August.

Some of the best food and staff in the Keweenaw. Great cabins that really give you a great up north feeling. Locally owned by great people.

Fantastic place to stay, eat and fish! Wonderful cabins that are very well kept. All the essentials for the kitchen are provided. All the food at the Bear Belly Pit stop is AMAZING! The Wednesday wings and Ribs on Saturdays are the absolute best!! Fishing on the lake is something special with some of the best views. Truly a magical place. Highly recommended!

Well a long time favorite in Bete Gris. However covid turned their business around. I have to say Gabby's pies are the best. Eat your cherry pies out Door County. We had a rhubarb/strawberry pie. The best things is fruit forward. Unlike the sugar bombs we had in Door County. I hear they are bringing back their fish fries. Without a doubt the best in the UP. Carry out only. Check out the Lac La Belle lodge. Grab a piece of the best pie ever.

Really cool up north bar. They have a great beer selection and great service. Only reason for not giving it 5 stars is I think the food is average. Overall I would recommend.

Loaded up on frickles, and a beer, at The Bear Belly Bar on a recent snowmobile trip. Had a great time, great views of Lac La Belle and super nice people. It was pretty crowded for a Wednesday afternoon in the snow.

Took family to Bohemia and stayed at Lac Labelle lodge, we ate at the bear belly bar, food was great service was exceptional, can’t wait to go back again. We would recommend the bear belly bar for dinner if you get the chance toTo get that far north. It is a beautiful place and a great restaurant my entire family enjoyed it again.

Been there a few times and the food was always good. It is set on a beautiful site on Lac Labelle. The staff are friendly and helpful.

A great view, and even better food! The onion rings and fries were very good, and they have an extensive selection of burgers. When I went I got a burger that also had a second "patty" of baked mac 'n cheese on it. It was awesome. From the descriptions on the menu, it would be hard to order a bad meal.

The burger menu is grand, and the staff attentive. Pairing the food and staff with a nice view down to the water from the seating area, the Bear Belly Bar & Grill is an ideal place for lunch or dinner after a day on the hill, or hiking in the area. I'll definitely be back.

Kinda funny that this place is well off the beaten path but was pretty busy for a mid-September lunch time. Great views of the lake with a deck that is pet friendly. Food was good. Lots of local stuffed animals mounted on the walls 🐻😄.

You better be prepared to stay a while, you won’t want to leave this place!

Are you hungry? Try the Dave's Burger. You won't be disappointed. Great service. Neat atmosphere. I eat there whenever I'm in the area.

I didn't expect such a cool place out here, these people were extremely nice! They even let is into the neighboring store after it was closed so we could get some grocery items. Food was great and service was great!

Stopped here for a beer, good selection of Michigan beers. Located in Bets Gris right on the water by boat docks and a lodge. A very beautiful laid back spot... We plan to come and stay longer in the future.

Bear Belly is fantastic. Great service and food! The deck is dog friendly and the view from there is gorgeous. I've never been disappointed with their regular menu, their fish fry, or their beer list. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the Keewenaw!

Great place, nice decor, (classic great outdoors - hunting theme). Food was good but they do not tell you some sides are extra for your sandwiches. Example, 2 bucks extra for ring onions for your burger...... Flavor-wise, good, average, nice size / portions

Absolutely the best darn fries I've ever had in my entire life! I could have made a meal out of just that. I had the Dave's burger with Mac and cheese... Everything is pretty much made in house. Beautiful scenery, great service, relaxing atmosphere, and our waitress was very nice and even helpful with things to do around the area. But seriously, I want to go back even just for the fries! And on the plus side, this is one of the very few places to get gas up here so fill up while you can and then go tour the Deleware Copper mine on your way out.

We have been here several times and even stayed at the cabins. This year 2019 the place lacked what it had last few years. It’s getting very busy and there is considerable wait times to be seated in the dinning area. My husband had the “philly cheese steak sandwich” and he said he was extremely disappointed. He said the onions and green peppers were boiled and flavorless. I had the Ruben and it was just OK. Looks like the resort is up for sale and the cabins have been spruced up with fresh paint. The place is just getting busy and it is understandable why the owners are trying to sell. It’s not a quiet little gem in the woods on a lake any longer. Wish we would have had a better experience. Unfortunately we will not be coming back. In the area we recommend The Michigan House in Calumet strongly! The Mariner is decent in Copper Harbor.

THE best place to dine in the Keweenaw and well worth the drive. The food is second-to-none (and unexpected given it's location), the beer selection is top notch, and the service is always superb. Not to mention the great view of Mount Bohemia and Lac La Belle.

Delicious gem out in the woods. Absolutely loved the environment- great view and cute decor. Service was amazing. I loved how they had a flip book description for their tap beers. Food was 5 stars. Attached is a little convenience store with some of their branded merchandise. No doubt, we will definitely be back!
