This was the first time for my wife and me, as we dined with a party of 6. We all enjoyed the food. The Sashimi Salad (half order) was huge, with a nice assortment of fish and a great dressing. We split a few rolls (Super Crunch, Dancing Spider,Dragon Z), and all were very good. One person who doesn’t eat Sushi had the Teriyaki Chicken and said it was very good. The Seaweed Salad was also very tasty. The food came quickly, and the service was great. For all the food, we thought the prices were quite affordable.

Izmi, is located just off the Plaza, so not jammed pack with people. Parking is available out front or at the east end of the block. We started with a bowl of miso soup(good). We split a spicy tuna salad. There's definitely enough for two. I highly recomend. The salad greens were fresh, and the spicy tuna was outstanding. Next we ordered a variety of rolls. All were very good and very fresh. We also ordered a spicy tuna hand roll (very good) Here where it gets exciting. The Yellowtail Kama, absolutely on point. The chef hit this one out of the park. This is a must order. You will not be disappointed! The only, and I mean, the reason I gave the food 4 stars, the rice. The rice was a bit under cooked, giving a bit of crunchy texture. It could've been an off day for the rice cooker lol. However, all in all we enjoyed Izmi.

Sushi in the high desert? When the chef takes this much pride in it yes!!!!!! Loved the garlic edamame and squid salad. Izmi roll is a must!

Loved this place. I think maybe a new waitress when we were there and we got our food before my daughter because we had sushi and she has something from the kitchen—actually another customer got very upset and made a scene but I would definitely recommend this place. On a night that we wandered around near the Plaza for over half an hour looking for a place to eat without an hour wait we finally arrived at Izmi. Plenty of tables empty when we got there, although the place began to fill up as we were leaving. I've been on a chirashi binge lately and this was as good as any that I have had. Because of her slightly hesitant English I assumed that our lovely server was Japanese but, once again, my request for Chirashi or Chirazushi drew a blank. Maybe I really murder the pronunciation. But once I describe the dish and our server checks with the chef, another 5 star version appears in front of me. Peg had a killer tempura. The food was plentiful and great. Service was attentive.

I’m sad to leave this review for a small local business, however, the food was absolutely bland and the service was extremely uncomfortable. To begin with the waitress refused to make eye contact when speaking to us and had no knowledge of the menu. Our appetisers came out, bland miso & bland salad with a splash of bottle dressing. We were super hungry after a 8 hour drive to get to Santa Fe so we had no choice but to eat the bland food. Our entrees came out which the waitress just threw on our table while looking at the ground and then just took our appetisers without even asking if we were done eating, they were both 1/4 eaten… my partner ordered the prawn tempura which was frozen prawns they were rubbery and gross. I ordered the steak teriyaki however it was thin meat offcuts. Terrible food I wish I didn’t spend $70 on this meal

Tried to go recently with a friend. Upon entering, no one looked at or greeted us. We sat down and waited ten minutes. No one looked at us and no service. Two employees lingered near the working sushi chef but didn’t serve anyone. Perplexing.

We were looking for take out near our rental condo and found this little place. Very small and cozy. Not a lot of parking - just street. They were busy. Had to wait a bit but sushi was fresh and delicious and the chicken teriyaki was also tasty and hot.

We came in for a late dinner while in Santa Fe with my whole family. Service was kind and helpful. We got the okonomiyaki appetizer and it was phenomenal! We ate it so fast I almost forgot a photo! Very fresh ingredients, tad bit on the pricey end, slow service (lack of staff unfortunately), miso soup costs $3 as is white rice being the cheapest while the Taos roll (baked lobster) was $18, but was very hospitable and friendly and not too busy. Feels fairly authentic but nothing like Izanami up the road. I'd say it is above average for most places though it is average for most places in downtown Santa Fe. My friend noted that our Red Dragon roll was made differently the second time. I noticed it was made special the first time (different but better than from the menu), and was done normally the second time (following the menu). The fish is very fresh and everything tasted very professionally done. I especially enjoyed the unagi, as well as our sashimi and appetizers (chef's choice).

Great service, the sushi and fish are fresh. My fiancé and I are extremely picky when it comes to sushi and this place definitely delivered. The sashimi was so tasty and the classic rolls were well prepared. The tempura was served piping hot and so crunchy. We will definitely be going again.
